Time Text
Greetings Games Workshop.
This is a response video to your Warhammer Adventures and where to even begin.
I can actually begin with myself.
If you are unaware of who I am, I am actually a nerd disguised as a bodybuilder.
Here is proof of that.
Now I've been a fan of Games Workshop and the Black Library for a very long time.
Now the first fantasy book I ever read except for Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit was this extremely fine tome of wisdom, Molly's Darkblade.
After that I started reading more fantasy.
Before that I had only read historic fiction.
And Molly's Darkblade obviously not particularly suited for a younger audience perhaps.
It's not particularly politically correct and that's what I loved about it.
That it was grim dark, brutal, uncompromising and there was no moral overtones.
It was just an epic action story.
That is why I loved Molly's Darkblade.
Now fast forward a few years I have never been a fan of science fiction and I will admit something.
I've actually never watched Star Wars.
not a science fiction guy at all until I read I decided to myself that I was gonna give science fiction a chance so I started with this fine book because I've heard much good about it and I was immediately hooked I was immediately hooked into a science fiction series even though I did not like science fiction.
Now why was I so hooked by Horus Heresy?
Yes, because it was uncompromising, it was grim, dark, it was brutal and it was extremely epic.
Now all of these things are completely broken by what I see before me right here with Warhammer Adventures.
It completely shatters the narrative, the good thing you have built here or the cool epicness and aesthetics you have created.
Now no one is thinking that Warhammer 40k or Horus Heresy is an ideal world and that's the point.
It's supposed to be a brutal world you don't want to be in.
That's the charm with it.
That it is grim, dark and horrendous.
And now I see quite clearly where this is heading and believe you me, as a Swedish individual in this particular moment in time, I am fed up with politics.
I don't want to think about it anymore.
And when I see because this is about politics, we can see that from a mile away, I don't think you believe that this is about getting a larger audience or whatever.
That might make sense for you.
But the thing is, this will not be your target audience.
I'm sorry to say that.
So for me, what I see is, you know, politics being incorporated in every single aspect of everything.
And I am quite saddened to see that.
And I don't want this to be the case.
I don't want the Black Library to be political.
I just want it to be cool stories, epic books.
Doesn't have to be politics in any direction.
And the Horus Heresy is not right wing.
It's not left wing either.
It should be nothing about that.
It should just be a cool story.
So please let it be that.
Now same thing with fantasy.
Like you have all the diversity you need.
You don't need to make everything good versus bad and tone down the things that makes it interesting.
The interesting thing with Warmer Fantasy, even the old world, was that, you know, there was a lot of different factions and vying for power.
There wasn't this pure good or pure evil.
But now when I see this, it's not particularly attractive at all.
It's just, for me, it's politics and I know quite well where this will end.
It will probably end with transgender space marines or transgender storm cast Eternals.
I don't know.
And I'm saying this because I root for you.
I haven't been in the hobby in a good few years now because I've had been occupied with other things.
But at some times in the back of my mind, I've always thought, like, oh, cool, it would be nice to get back into the hobby at one stage or another.
But when I see these sort of things, it's not a very alluring prospect to get back to a company that, you know, promotes these sort of things.
And here's the thing.
I'm not saying that the hobby should only be for a certain demographic, but what I'm saying is that leave the aesthetics of it alone.
Leave the lore alone.
It's epic as it is.
That is why it's attractive.
That is why so many people like horror heresy.
No one likes horror's heresy because it is a bland, politically correct world.
I mean, I am the first one to be against degeneracy and porn, for example.
But in Warmer Fancy and in Warmer 40k, I still want Slannish to be around.
I still want there to be pleasure palaces that corrupts people, and I still want there to be this brutal and gruesome aspect of it.
And the Imperium of mankind in Warmer 40k, it's about intolerance and it's about being extremely strict.
It's not supposed to be a utopia.
On the contrary, it's supposed to be a dystopia.
So please don't try to make the Imperium into some sort of politically correct social justice warrior dream because it isn't and it isn't what is alluring with the whole allure.
Anyway, so to conclude my rant, please just don't go down that road.
You've seen what happened in Gamergate.
People do not want this.
I know that some marketing expert who isn't an expert at all, you can talk to me if you want some marketing advice.
I'm absolutely certain that I know much better than they do because obviously this is a step in the wrong direction.
Anyway, don't listen to them.
This is not what people want.
People want and people love Warmer 40k horror heresy because it is brutal, uncompromising and politically incorrect.
They don't want this sort of diversity.
So that was my case.
I hope you listen.
And for anyone who from Games Workshop, check out Arch Warhammer's videos on this subject as well.
I think he portrays it in a quite good light.
And then lastly, like I still like you.
I still like Black Library.
I think you're doing great work.
So keep it up, but don't go along this path because nothing good will come out of it.
And who am I?
I'm Tyrion, champion of Ulthuan.
