Greetings, proud men of Christ!
And welcome back to our glorious Recoquista.
We have been taken a bit by surprise by these blasphemous Arabs right here, and you can see that they outnumber us quite significantly.
And as I explained last episode, we are at a severe disadvantage.
But one of the cool things with being glorious is that if you imagine the death of Boromir in Lord of the Rings, he died, but he did so with great valor and honor.
So we're gonna try to do the same here.
Just take as many widows as possible with no hope of victory, but we're going to heaven at least because killing an infidel is not murder, it's the way to heaven.
I quoted one rather odd-looking individual from Kingdom of Heaven when we're passing to Italy, so that was the reference as it were.
Okay, cool.
There's not that much forest, which I prefer because I don't really like to have a battle where I can't see anything.
So I suppose that, what will we do, well we can, since they're coming to us at least, we can hide here.
Order's understood!
We're gonna start up the battle and see what the crack might be.
I'm gonna do like this scout a bit with this and you can see where we can hide in in the forest here.
So these guys will be hidden and you can see that on that little symbol.
I don't know if you can see it, but there it means that they're hidden and, as usual, you always want to go for the enemy general, so I'm just gonna do that straight away in.
In all actuality, I'm gonna try to hide this and okay cool, we are, we're fighting.
Now there is the general.
Good cool okay, I'm gonna utilize this little forest to stand in here.
I can also, should I wish, spread this loose spacing, and that obviously reduces the amount of missiles that they will shoot at us.
So this is a bit like Minastirith, when they, when they ambush in the second field, when they ambush the oliphants, the enemy has found our concealed units.
Okay, so they're, they're protecting the general.
Quite well there indeed, and we can see here, all right, Berber light cavalry.
Yes nice, they're getting smashed and our general is.
That did not go according to plan at all warriors of Christ, glad tidings, for general is dead, our general is fallen and we didn't really get Abd Al Malik.
Quite blasphemous indeed, but it is what it is.
I'm gonna speed up the gameplay, since we lost Terran and now we're fleeing.
Okay, maybe not my best performance ever, but it is what it is, true friends.
It is.
They died with honor and valor and they are now in heaven.
So Heroes of the Caliphate.
Absolutely barbarous, I would say.
Alright, that's cool.
That's fine.
The Crusaders of Glory.
A scholar.
Yes, we need a scholar to be um civil war.
What's this now?
What barbarism is this?
The Crusaders.
Aha, look at that.
This had such a low integrity so that they actually split up.
The Crusaders of Glory, they have not earned their name, I would say.
So, what we're gonna do today, true friends, is Badaios.
Another name I probably mispronounce.
I'm gonna go with Badaios.
Badaios.
I have no idea.
Our king.
Brave King Leonidas.
We'll actually out-resolve that.
Take on the warriors.
And when I take on warriors, I replenish my army so that the numbers here are diminished.
So that you're going off.
Now, what can we do?
Moral is always a good thing to have.
And you see the Emirate of Khordoba right there.
You can probably station them there.
And they will probably charge us pretty soon.
Which means that we can create some more units.
Okay, my sword is yours.
Shall we, true friends, attack this Imam?
We can try.
Assassinate.
Fail again.
You have two shots at this little Imam now, and you failed both times.
What an absolute disgrace to watch Christ.
Now, what can we do with these guys?
Okay, you can see here that this yellow area is our movement and I can just barely cross the across here because there's a river and I'm actually going to do and you see this little skull up here indicates that we are losing men by the turn.
So I'm gonna create a few more units.
Then I suppose what can we do with?
You can hire some mercenaries, and here is different stances you can take.
So I'm gonna see, forced march doesn't really increase the movement any.
We're gonna try to hide in the forest there and and hope that these heroes of the Caliphate goes for the sword of justice instead.
So that is basically what we can do for this, this turn, and yeah, I suppose that That we'll have to do it for now.
We can look at.
We had a little army up here as well.
Probably a good thing to keep them.
Also, let's do some matchmaking right here.
He wants a wife.
Let's look for a wife.
Seek wife.
There.
There they go.
Wonderful.
And Garcia is a general.
You will actually be.
I'm gonna see who that is.
That guy.
Okay, Garcia.
I have high hopes for you.
You will be royal protector.
And there's our governor.
He will actually be Marshal of the court.
Because he says, tax rate plus 5%.
Absolutely glorious.
And we have.
Where are you then?
Oh, you are him.
Okay, we can't really do anything for him.
Alright, let us ready for battle.
No, I will not decimate you because you are decimated already by sickness and disease.
So, for anyone who hasn't played Total War, there are a great many factors to always take into consideration.
So it's not just about economy and warfare, it's also about public order, disease, food consumption, trade, etc.
Which I love.
I love that it's so multifaceted, as it were.
Oh, fuck.
I don't want to box with you.
God.
Noble marriage.
Let no man tear asunder.
These two have been successfully merged.
Absolutely awesome.
I think all true friends now who are watching this should create a metapolitical profist.
I mean a metaphysical profist.
For Bernardo.
Awesome, Bernardo.
I'm happy for him.
He's gonna have a glorious night, I'm sure.
With his new wife.
So the Sword of Justice.
Are you actually serious?
Do you want to take our settlement there?
Absolutely barbaric if you want to do that.
Now, the problem here is that we can only have four armies.
If you see here, we're gonna raise another army.
Do that there.
We have already four armies, and that's the full of our capacity, which means that I would want to invade their territory there, but then we'll leave these guys to roam free.
So we'll have to do that instead.
Raise some more spearmen.
I think that's a good idea.
And now you see, we can't even move along these mountains.
So I suppose that we have to keep running, as it were.
And you see, there, if I do the forced march stance, I can go a bit further, as you can see by the yellow markings there.
But if we happen to get in a fight, we will be tired, disabled.
So, um, I'm not gonna do that at all.
Now, let's see here.
Okay, cool.
He had a success in harassing their army a bit.
Which is good.
He had better success fighting against an entire army than to kill this Imam.
Perhaps this Imam was actually a true friend who gave him good food and good company, so he didn't wanna kill him.
Maybe that's what happened.
And then it's quite okay, to be honest.
Okay, we're gonna convert you to a barracks, because the more things that are unconverted, then the cultural influence of that city as oh, I mean that religion and faction which is Moorish and Islam.
So we need to convert things to get them to be Christian.
Basically oh, look at that nice, go with a few things there, spheres of power, two turns, oh god okay, decimate didn't really want to do that but, um but sure look, it is what it is.
So I don't know when this will be uploaded, but I'm going home to good old Sweden over the over Christmas to eat a lot of sweets etc.
A lot of Marcipan.
That was actually the only thing I really wished for Christmas, except for the company of my family, etc.
But um, marzipon pigs that was my, my wishes for this Christmas, like Christmassy Marcipan pigs, and also Marzipon Tomtar, and Tomta is basically like Santa, but not quite the same.
It's a Santa and Jul Tomten in Swedish is not quite the same same thing, but nowadays it's kind of the same.
Hard to explain either fucking way.
What I wished for Christmas was Marzipan pigs, basically the pig of prosperity.
I last Christmas I posted on my Instagram a picture of it.
So what did I want to say about that little elaboration.
Yes, that I will be with this.
This is the fifth episode, and then when I'm back, I will continue with this, with this campaign.
So five episodes now, and then I will continue later on.
So if you wonder why I don't do any more episodes for a while, that's because I don't.
I'm not here in this room with my, my good computer, etc.
But five good episodes in already.
So that's that's, that's cool.
All right, enough talk.
We don't really need to recruit any more units there.
We need however, to sort out our lack of food here, and that could do in such a way as take away the tax.
Now we don't have an income.
So if you see up here in this bar, we have 16 food.
If we exempt them from tax, if we put on tax, we have more shekels but no food.
So I'm gonna solve the food shortage by decimate you again.
oh fuck I forgot to move them fuck extremely silly of me I suppose but yeah I made a mistake there I didn't move our fleeing army up there so I hope they are okay anyway oh look at that Typha of Valentia How in the name of Talos could they reach there?
Oh fuck oh well that was absolutely not ideal absolutely not okay cool let's see what we can do I wonder if we can take the settlement directly.
That would be awesome if we could do no not really decisions decisions now I will teach them.
Now I need to think a bit.
So we kind of need to take this, this battle, because we are losing soldiers and they are not losing soldiers.
So, and then we have these guys.
God hmm, what to do?
What to do?
I'm gonna merge these units together actually, then we have a little.
We might take Salamanca, if we can.
Just no, there are no mercenaries here oh, but the only reasonable answer is to send down this army.
I hope I make sense now at least with what I'm doing.
It's just that I was taken taken aback a bit with, so okay, I'm gonna leave this, siege these guys, and then I suppose we'll have to sally forth there boom fight, battle on the battlefield, and this will be the glorious battle in this episode.
All right then, weather conditions dry suits me as fine.
So we have more units, but all our units are severely depleted.
But we can't really do anything.
We're gonna look at our beloved king for a moment.
Ah, there he is.
Look at him, Foi Mirin.
Absolutely glorious, love it.
So what we're gonna do?
We can look at their army.
See what they have.
They have uh fresh, aggressive young men.
Look at that guy, Foi Mirin.
Uh, Ice.
Thank god we have such a thin line.
We don't have any melee units whatsoever.
What we have what we can do however, is that we can collapse their flank.
This brave few as he's 17 23, 28 men.
We try to hold that line, whereas our cavalry must win this battle.
Okay so uh hopefully, hopefully true friends this uh this can be a victorious battle for us if not Look at that!
Nice!
I didn't even think of that.
That's fucking awesome.
Not very many soldiers, though, but these guys can turn the tide, I'd say.
And if you see the balance of power, it's really in our favor.
I don't know why at all, though.
For the glory of God.
Yours to command.
And we're gonna look at our beloved king.
This can be a cool thumbnail for the there is royal, if anything.
See, these guys are quite depleted, so I want to keep them away from... ...now then.
See if we can snipe the general list.
I don't want to jeopardize our king one bit Abdallah will die for your crimes against Christ
Look at that, now Now.
we'll do is try our best to get around here and shoot those bostads dead.
Okay we're gonna send in our general to ensure this victory.
Now, if we can just kill this guy.
Oh, look at that.
Nice.
Kill those barbarians.
Absolutely perfect.
And I wish I had this one full...
Full unit of something.
I don't want to charge this unit because they can just land a volley of arrows on us and then we're done for.
And it is need to kill their general.
You see, the general right now is winning the battle.
Not okay, and Do we have any more okay?
I think this battle might possibly be.
Okay, now the general is dead at least, but okay, the charge on the king.
Glory to God himself!
Nice!
Absolutely glorious.
Nice.
Highly joyous.
And you see, we broke them there.
Really tight battle.
Really tight battle, yes!
Yes!
Nice!
We give praise to God himself!
That felt fucking amazing, true friends.
So you see that getting the general Abu Dala was glorious.
And our king got to fight a bit as well.
He that felt good.
Pyrrhic victory and now we see we're getting the yellow bar here is indicates that we're being replenished So what can we do here?
Authority is always good and is always good as well.
Oh, there is his wife.
Sharp tongue.
Well, so I suppose what more can we do now?
I don't want to sally out yet.
These guys can be here because I want to replenish as much and as soon as possible.
We can, however, build a few more spearmen.
And spearmen I chose because you saw in the battle there, we didn't have any stable midline, as it were.
We only had cavalry and missile units.
So you always want that stable center to just like the anvil and then the cavalry is the hammer.
So that is what we can do now.
I'm gonna take the turn and see what can be done.
Next one.
Oh, look at that.
Governor.
wonderful.
I'm going with authority because that increases public order.
Muted in two turns, but I don't want to decimate them anymore because we kind of need them if the rebels sally out as it were.
So yeah, that's also something you need to take into consideration when playing this glorious game that you need to keep the men in the army happy as well because if you don't, they will mutiny.
What?
Are they actually prepared?
What happened now?
In all like shelter, did it charge us again?
Oh well.
That's easily dealt with.
That's exactly how it goes if you stand against the warriors of Christ.
And we're gonna repair this little city as well.
The heroes of the caliphate.
Okay, can we take Salamanca?
It would be awesome if we had some sort of mercenaries.
Okay, no, we can't really do that.
So they were too many.
I'm gonna retreat with this unit and see what can be done.
I wish this guy could speed up a bit.
That would be absolutely lovely if we could do that.
For God himself.
I'm gonna merge a few units here to save the upkeep and okay you have really low integrity You will mutiny in one turn
So yeah, hopefully these guys will come in good time in these guys and I think we'll lose Quimbra but oh actually we can just ah god this Tricky situation a lot to think about I'm gonna keep these guys here in case these guys renegade on our treaty and okay,
I'm gonna take one One last one last turn and That will be the the last let's play before Christmas.
I think at least I might do one more before time comes, and then, also for for New Year's Eve, I plan on releasing something like two three, four let's plays just for New Year's Eve, because I have a special reason for that.
I did the same thing last New Year's Eve as well, in order to for anyone who does not like going out on New Year's Eve in all actuality.
This New Year's Eve though, will be spent with my, with my lovely girl.
I will return to to Ireland the 29th of December, so that is just in time for New Year's Eve, and then I also have the time to make some some let's plays in all actuality.
All right cool, we're gonna do like this.
I'm gonna leave You with this right here, and then I have a good while to think about what the next step just might be.
But yeah, cool.
Thank you very much for watching.
And who am I?
The glorious champion of Christ.
