Greetings, true friends.
Today I wanna talk a bit about a new decision by the IFBB to create a new bodybuilding division, classic physique bodybuilding.
And now this is joyous news indeed.
This is definitely a step in the right direction.
Now, I talked about in my other video, link it below, why I think the current bodybuilding standards are so blasphemous and it's an abomination.
Check that out below and I will just restress some of the arguments and give my thoughts regarding the new bodybuilding division.
Now, am I in the least excited for the new bodybuilding division?
No, not to be honest, I still see a lot of the same problems, but we're moving away from the most degenerated aspects of bodybuilding, you know, where the you know, only size and leanness and dryness are premiered.
Now we're at least going in the step of having a good shape of the body that you have, you know, a tight waist and not like a pregnant cowbelly sticking out.
However, what I see still in the coming division is the incredible leanness.
And yet again, I will keep saying this because it's so important for younger guys to realize.
There's nothing glorious about being 5% body fat.
There's nothing healthy about it.
It's nothing to do with conditioning.
Like conditioning is your fucking stamina.
There is nothing to do with how fucking dry your skin is.
It is nothing to do with fitness, performance or health.
Being 5% body fat is unhealthy.
You would rather be 20% body fat than 5% body fat.
No question about that at all.
And those sort of standards need to go away as soon as possible.
There's nothing glorious about having the look on your skin that you could die from a paper cut.
I'm not saying that the bodybuilders aren't committed, you know, very committed, putting in the hard work, incredibly disciplined.
They are incredibly disciplined.
But that does not make it something that should be attractive for younger guys because it's not healthy one bit.
And that is my main concern with the new division either way.
However, as I'm a positive guy, I tend to look at the bright side of life as Life of Brian Songos.
I am elated by this move in the right direction because right now the top bodybuilders, Branch Warren, Phil Heath and Kai Green, they are highly detrimental towards getting people into the gym.
Because when they say like, oh, you know, bodybuilding, I want to put on some muscle and then they see these, you know, freakishly big guys they get like, you know, they don't want anything to do with that.
And that is natural because for a regular person that is not good one bit.
So definitely a step in the right direction.
One point I would like to make is I would love for bodybuilding competitions to have a threshold body fat percentage wise.
So you can't go below 8% body fat.
That would create a healthy and aesthetic kind of physique.
You don't have to star yourself to go down that low.
Yeah sure you would need to cut down some fat.
I would also need to cut down some fat if I was convening there.
But it would be doable.
I would not have to spend a lot of time being really hungry and feeling like shit.
And for me right now, I'm a YouTube content creator.
That is part of my income.
I also do online coaching as the major part of my income.
I cannot be really low on energy because then I can't do my job.
And then also you need steroids to go down to 5% body fat while maintaining size.
If I went down to 5% body fat right now, you would see a hungry skeleton.
Could not be done as a natural.
You can get big and strong as natural, you cannot be big and really lean as a natural.
And if somebody claims that they do, then they might have a skeleton or two in their closet.
So, to conclude, definitely a step in the right direction.
Am I excited for it?
No, not one bit, but I am.
It is still good news.
And for me, if I could decide over it, I'd say, like, you know, have a threshold on the body fat percentage because that's also a big deal of it.
And also, it is not attractive to the mainstream eye to have 5% body fat veins running through your belly and you know, your skin is like paper thin.
There is nothing glorious about that at all.
Fucking juicy, that's what I am.
