The Golden One - Marcus Follin - Epic Book Gains Aired: 2015-06-24 Duration: 04:03 === Glorious Book Gains (02:47) === [00:00:10] Greetings my glorious true friends. [00:00:13] Today I want to show you my book gains I've made. [00:00:16] One of the best feels in the world. [00:00:18] Get into the bookshoopa, browse around, find new glorious books. [00:00:22] Now obviously I usually know what I'm after but it's always fun to see you know new books which have been coming in etc. [00:00:30] Just before I begin, I'm still this book, so almost finished with this. [00:00:36] Third book in the King Arthur trilogy by MK Hume. [00:00:40] Can really recommend it. [00:00:41] I thought about making a separate book recommendation regarding this but I'm making it now instead. [00:00:47] Very solid books. [00:00:49] Gives that a semi-grimdark feel to it and a good connection with the Britain that was a bit more Roman-esque in its influence. [00:01:00] So none of that high fancy stuff. [00:01:04] So since I was in the late Roman era culture stack I thought read this and great books. [00:01:10] Definitely can recommend them. [00:01:11] And then secondly I thought about switching to a Greek like a Hellenic culture stack in the coming days. [00:01:18] So I choose the fourth installment of this series. [00:01:23] The first book is called Killer of Men regarding a Greek hero that goes around killing people basically. [00:01:32] Really solid books. [00:01:33] They fight against the Persians but the book is really nuanced so that the Persians are they are the enemy but they aren't all cruel like in 300. [00:01:42] Now obviously I like 300, I love the film but it's a bit black and white for my taste. [00:01:47] So this portrays the persons much better. [00:01:51] And obviously it's Christian Cameron that also wrote Alexander God of War. [00:01:55] Thirdly a new series by our main man Harry Sidebottom obviously a historian that wrote another very solid series about an angle guy called Marcus Ballista who fought for the Romans. [00:02:11] So that series is really good and since it was so good I insta-bought this, like the first installment of a new series. [00:02:19] So I look forward to that very much and I have high hopes. [00:02:22] Next we have a The Curse of Babylon. [00:02:25] Now this was actually on special offer. [00:02:27] You got like the fourth book for free so I choose this because I read the first of those books so I'm actually gonna have to read one, two, three books before I delve into this but I have that on on hold per se. [00:02:40] And it's also in the late Roman era. [00:02:44] 615 AD Fucking massive. [00:02:49] Admire my shoulders there. [00:02:52] And the beard of glory grants me wisdom. === Reading in the Sun (01:05) === [00:02:57] And obviously how about some glorious book games in the Horus Heresy. [00:03:08] So yeah, two books after each other. [00:03:10] I read Legion a few weeks back. [00:03:13] Really solid book. [00:03:14] Can definitely recommend that as well. [00:03:16] So I'm gonna read those. [00:03:18] I don't know when, but they're quite fast to read. [00:03:21] They're not that thick and very interesting so they tend to get read out quite easily. [00:03:28] So yeah, that's my little book gains for this month. [00:03:34] I hope you have gotten some inspiration to read a bit more yourself. [00:03:38] And obviously, as I might have mentioned before, I read either in the sun, best fucking thing in the world, or before I go to sleep. [00:03:45] So it's more of a routine, it's not like I sit and read all day, it's basically just half an hour before bed or as long as the sun is up if I'm not doing anything else. [00:03:56] It's like sunbathing with a book. [00:04:00] Anywho, am I? [00:04:01] I'm the lion of wisdom. [00:04:02] X-Rayxo.
