The Golden One - Marcus Follin - A Healthy Mind in a Healthy Body (Thoughts on Non-Lifters) Aired: 2014-12-03 Duration: 05:18 === Healthy Mind, Healthy Body (05:04) === [00:00:13] Greetings, I got a question regarding my thoughts on non-lifters, so I thought to elaborate and as the title suggests, a healthy mind is more often than not accompanied by a healthy physique. [00:00:30] Now, as with all things in life, there are plenty of exceptions to the rule, which means that a lot of guys with healthy physiques have unhealthy minds and vice versa. [00:00:42] But in general, it is the case that people with decadent physiques more often than not have decadent mentalities and minds. [00:00:56] And that is also why, you know, obscene ideologies and ideas tend to accompany each other. [00:01:06] So for example, extreme modern feminism is often accompanied by fat acceptance. [00:01:13] Those two go hand in hand. [00:01:15] And by the same token, a lot of nationalist guys, at least in Sweden, are, you know, jacked. [00:01:20] Whereas the beta leftists are physically not so impressive, to say the least. [00:01:29] And also, in my opinion, at least, you have to train your body to be healthy in the mind. [00:01:39] Not training your body is the equivalent of assaulting it, like disrespecting it, distreating it. [00:01:48] And by exercising, I don't mean to go on a walk every day. [00:01:51] I mean to really push yourself several times a week at least. [00:01:58] So really push yourself to the fucking limits. [00:02:01] Then your mind can prosper. [00:02:03] That is my sincere thoughts and beliefs. [00:02:05] For me, I know full well that I would never ever have been able to make these videos, been able to study, to write decent articles, to do anything that I do if I hadn't pushed myself in the gym so that I were healthy. [00:02:24] If I were not in the gym training, I would not feel well. [00:02:27] I would be depressed like that that quickly. [00:02:30] I would not work properly at all. [00:02:33] So I mean I'm not unique, I'm not special in that regard. [00:02:38] Every human being, every creature need to physically exert themselves often to feel good. [00:02:46] And when you don't do that, your mind will not work properly. [00:02:50] That's just the way it is. [00:02:53] And it's not the case that I have anything against people who are not huge and jacked. [00:02:58] Like I realize that what I do now is a luxury being able to go to the gym for two hours every day. [00:03:04] That's a luxury. [00:03:05] I won't have that luxury perhaps later on when I have kids and stuff. [00:03:10] But everyone can get in training several times a week. [00:03:15] There's no question about it at all. [00:03:17] And the only thing that stands in the way then are excuses. [00:03:20] Because there is not a single guy in the world who does not want to look like Brad Pitt in Troy or Leonidas in 300. [00:03:28] Like there isn't. [00:03:29] If a guy says like, oh, I don't want to look like that. [00:03:31] They're fucking liars. [00:03:33] I realize quite quickly, I was 14 when I saw Brad Pitt in Troy. [00:03:37] Like, foi, that is one cool dude. [00:03:39] I want to look like him. [00:03:40] I was 17 when I saw Leonidas in 300. [00:03:43] Same exact thoughts. [00:03:44] You know, either I make up excuses as how I can't look like him or I actually train to look like him. [00:03:52] And now I look like him because of a mental strength that has developed through training and going to the gym. [00:04:01] And I'm very thankful for that. [00:04:05] And it's quite simple to be honest. [00:04:07] Like, either you make excuses or you make progress. [00:04:10] Now, I'm not saying that everyone can look like Leonidas, but everyone can at least try. [00:04:16] And in that attempt to reach it, you unlock certain mental qualities that you know perhaps the fat acceptance crowd do not come even near. [00:04:30] So that is basically my thought. [00:04:32] I don't have anything against anyone who isn't into the gym lifestyle 100, but I do not think you can be healthy in your mind if you're not healthy in the body. [00:04:42] And if you have, if you run five times a week to beat your record on the mile, that's also cool. [00:04:50] I respect that fully, because then your body will be healthy as well if you really exert yourself. [00:04:56] So it's more about taking care of your mind than anything else, basically. [00:05:01] Basically, you can look like what you want, but also I know full well that all guys want to look like Brad Pitt and Leonidas. [00:05:08] That's just the way it is. [00:05:10] And if they don't strive to do that, I know something is wrong, perhaps mental weakness. [00:05:15] So that is how I look upon that.
