[00:00:12] Hello, Mr. Dershowitz. [00:00:14] This is not a question, but a comment. [00:00:18] I bought your book from Amazon titled The Case for Liberalism in an Age of Extremism, or why I left the left and can't join the right. [00:00:32] My first comment is that I find it very easy reading and easy for me to understand. [00:00:40] The other thing that I would like to mention to you is something that I've never ever experienced in my entire life. [00:00:48] I was reading your book yesterday at the beach when some guys who I was playing beach volleyball with asked me about the book that I was reading. [00:00:57] And so I showed them the book. [00:00:59] They then asked me why I chose this book. [00:01:02] And so I told them that I had a great deal of respect for the author. [00:01:06] The next thing that happened came as a total shock to me. [00:01:12] Without warning, I was slugged and punched in the face. [00:01:17] I asked why was that called for? [00:01:20] And I was told it's because his political viewpoint and mine differ. [00:01:25] I told them that I get it that our points differ, but why can't we at least be civil about it? [00:01:32] With that, he laughed, shoved me once again onto the sand, and kicked Sand all over me. [00:01:41] My question to you is why people can have political differences, respect the other's point of view, and just be civil about it. [00:01:52] Honest to goodness, this is the very first time I've ever experienced such an inside end. [00:01:58] And I would appreciate if you could tell me what I did to deserve this, because honestly, I just don't get it. [00:02:04] I was taught by my stepmom to always be respectful of others, even though I may not agree with the other person. [00:02:13] I thought I was being myself and honest. [00:02:16] I don't know, Mr. Dershowitz. [00:02:18] I just don't get it on why I got and deserve this kind of treatment.
