True Anon Truth Feed - [PREVIEW] Episode 310: The Plane Truth Aired: 2023-08-07 Duration: 04:18 === Why Giants Fly Like Birds (01:53) === [00:00:03] Hello. [00:00:04] Welcome to Queer Spaces from Bloomberg Podcast. [00:00:07] My name is Liz Franczak. [00:00:09] And I'm Puerto Rican Dominican journalist Rachel Jake. [00:00:12] Now, Rachel Jake, you know, a couple of episodes ago, we spoke with the chair of Biden's Youth Economic Council about doing toxic living situation GoFundMes and how they're contributing less to inflation than many toxic roommates would like you to believe. [00:00:26] Oh, yeah. [00:00:27] One of my absolute favorite interviews we've ever done. [00:00:29] But today, we're taking our eyes off of Bushwick and staring right up at the sun. [00:00:34] But wait, what's that? [00:00:35] A bird? [00:00:36] A plane? [00:00:37] Yes, Liz, it's a plane. [00:00:39] That's right. [00:00:40] You know, planes are the hot topic of the American consumer this summer. [00:00:44] But a lot of people are wondering, just how do they get these planes to plane? [00:00:49] Yeah, I mean, if you're anything like me, you're thinking right now, a hunk of metal flying, it doesn't totally sound realistic to me. [00:00:57] If I'm being honest with you, I don't understand how something that heavy can fly in the same manner as like a bird or a piece of paper caught in the wind. [00:01:05] I know, right? [00:01:05] I mean, a lot of business press doesn't know exactly how to cover this. [00:01:10] And in my opinion, and I know this is a bit unpopular, but they don't exactly know all the facets of what's going on up there. [00:01:17] So today, we're going to talk industrial policy, bidynomics, and what exactly is leading people to believe against all rational thought and econometrics that giant multi-ton hunks of metal can fly in the air like a bird. [00:01:30] But first, a note from our sponsors. [00:01:33] It's silly. === Hello Hello (02:20) === [00:01:57] Hello, Liz. [00:01:59] Hello. [00:02:00] Hello, hello. [00:02:01] Hello, Brace. [00:02:02] I have a present from you, but I need you to vamp while I go across. [00:02:05] Tell me, really, really quick. [00:02:07] Before we do that, I'm Liz. [00:02:10] My name is, it is Brace, and we are, of course, joined by producer of the podcast, Young Chomsky, and the podcast, which is called... [00:02:19] It's called True Non, Oh My... [00:02:20] Oh my God, you got, first of all, these are way too tiny. [00:02:24] Don't say that. [00:02:27] Oh, Brace is presenting me with light, I would say a light maple wood set. [00:02:39] I mean, I think you need to hold them. [00:02:42] Oh, I hold them? [00:02:43] them and kind of like, like, Oh yeah. [00:02:45] Young Chomsky was like, ooh, when I was doing that because of the noise from the little tiny desk that I'm sitting on. [00:02:50] Oh, tiny. [00:02:53] Like this? [00:02:53] Yeah, but if you give it a slap. [00:02:56] Oh, like a debugger. [00:02:58] Like. [00:02:59] So think of the bass. [00:03:00] My ring is hitting it, your ring yeah well, you can kind of maybe like like drum on the side with the ring a little bit too kind of undulating there a little bit. [00:03:07] I am undulating, but if I had bongos in front of me I wouldn't be undulating this kind of. [00:03:11] I think it's just like if you go like a I know, but it's I know oh, like here those are on. [00:03:16] No, not there, not there like boobies. [00:03:21] You did indeed. [00:03:22] No, Liz. [00:03:23] Like here's what you like. [00:03:24] If you never spent time in a San Francisco coffee house, what you do is you say something crazy and then you fucking give them a quick like little. [00:03:31] Uh, I don't know how you get on this one whoa. [00:03:34] Yeah exactly, you hit them with the whoa man, we don't use those, that language anymore. [00:03:40] I don't think i've got the rhythm. [00:03:41] I don't know if those are very good bongos. [00:03:43] Yeah, they're kind of chupo. [00:03:44] I might get you some east Rock on them. [00:03:46] I know it's East meets West. [00:03:47] Not a lot of sustainable bongos. [00:03:49] Hello everyone, hello. [00:03:50] I'm sorry I got liz, mini bongos instead of regular size bongos. [00:03:54] I think that maybe I need to watch a couple youtubes to figure this out yeah, and then we will get back to you listeners with a really much better, more talented clearly, obviously very good at bongo playing Liz. [00:04:07] Now, of course, it took me a long time to master the. [00:04:11] You just whack that thing. [00:04:13] I know. [00:04:14] I do. [00:04:15] In fact, it's gotten me kicked out of several movie theaters.
