True Anon Truth Feed - [PREVIEW] Episode 217: Moderate Rebel: The Christopher Dorner Story (Part 2) Aired: 2022-03-30 Duration: 04:59 === Chris Dorner: The Truanon Story (04:58) === [00:00:01] America. [00:00:03] You will realize today and tomorrow that this world is made up of all human beings who have the same general needs and wants in life for themselves, their kin, community, and state. [00:00:18] That is the freedom to live and love. [00:00:22] They may eat different foods, enjoy different music, have different dialects, or speak a different language, but in essence are no different from you and I. [00:00:36] This is America. [00:00:38] We are not a perfect sovereign country, as we have our own flaws, but we are the closest that will ever exist. [00:00:48] It's kind of sad I won't be around to view and enjoy the Hangover 3. [00:00:53] What an awesome trilogy. [00:00:55] February 3rd, 2013, the Super Bowl. [00:00:59] Ravens vs. the 49ers. [00:01:01] Tim Tebow. [00:01:03] A diamond ring on the finger of a dead woman in the front seat of a white Kia Optima on the top floor of a parking garage. [00:01:12] A dead campus officer in the seat next to her. [00:01:15] Victoria Hurtado, Irving PD homicide detective, knew this wasn't just a simple case of a thug hopped up on black beauties and cigarettes dipped in formaldehyde, blown away a couple of up on Lover's Lane for his sick kicks or from messages he heard on the race music charts. [00:01:35] This was a killing. [00:01:37] 14 shell casings are scattered across the oil stains and tire tracks like dandruff from an eczematic scalp, scratched to flakes by the filed nails of crime. [00:01:49] This young couple was dead. [00:01:51] Ballistics came back from the lab. [00:01:54] The weapons had been fired using a suppressor, a tube that makes things go quiet. [00:01:59] Hurtado wished she had one for her husband's mouth sometimes. [00:02:03] But the detectives were stumped. [00:02:05] Even after talking to former LAPD officer Randall Kwan, Monica's father, he simply couldn't figure out who might have done it. [00:02:13] Who would commit such a heinous act? [00:02:18] My name is Brace Belden. [00:02:20] I'm Liz. [00:02:22] We are, of course, as always, joined by producer Young Chomsky. [00:02:25] And this is Truanon, colon, moderate rebel, the Chris Dorner story. [00:02:34] too. [00:03:01] Liz, we are not good at doing true crime. [00:03:05] You know what? [00:03:06] Yes, we are. [00:03:08] Yes, we are. [00:03:09] We've done this one. [00:03:10] We did the great two-parter on the dog fucking, which, by the way, that was a sex story. [00:03:15] Who else is covering that? [00:03:18] It's up in the air, depending on how conservative you are, if that was actually a crime that was committed there. [00:03:23] When I think of our true crime episodes, I think dog fucking, Taliban, you know, runaway. [00:03:32] Yeah. [00:03:33] And now Dorner. [00:03:34] And I think that's a great little trilogy that we're working with. [00:03:37] Okay. [00:03:37] Yeah. [00:03:38] My thing is, I think we do the episodes themselves are fine. [00:03:42] It just, as true crime podcasters, I feel like you and I have like a severe lack of musical theater training or desire that sort of prevents us from crossing the sort of the threshold into becoming true crime podcasts. [00:03:56] Are you suggesting that perhaps we attend some workshops? [00:03:59] I mean, I'm just like, I don't know. [00:04:00] Like, would you like, you know, you know, I've been doing UCB for the past 12 years. [00:04:08] You know, which actually, and that's, that's, you know, that combines a lot of our interest. [00:04:12] There's a lot of true crime happening there too, particularly sex crimes. [00:04:17] And so like, you know, I'm just like, maybe we could like take some improv classes, like do some musical theater stuff together. [00:04:23] Like, I don't, I don't know. [00:04:24] It's, you don't want to do that? [00:04:26] Okay. [00:04:27] Well, no, I didn't say that. [00:04:28] You know what? [00:04:29] I'm going to say yes and I would love to. [00:04:33] Okay. [00:04:34] Well, psych bitch, not happening. [00:04:37] Okay. [00:04:38] Hello, everyone. [00:04:38] We already did the intro, but welcome. [00:04:40] Part two. [00:04:42] Back to Christopher Dorner. [00:04:44] So, Liz, you remember how last episode we talked about Christopher Dorner's childhood and his young adulthood and then regular adulthood. [00:04:53] And then we kind of went back and examined the reasons that he did what he did as stated in his so-called manifesto. [00:04:59] Yeah, yeah.
