Aired: 2021-05-03 Duration: 04:57 === Five Hours of Jokes and Lee Harvey (03:47) === [00:00:01] Ola, this is your captain speaking, Hermanos. [00:00:05] My name is Brace, and we are going down past the Florida Keys to Cuba, where we're going to land our little landing party there. [00:00:15] Keyword party, and we are going to kidnap a couple of people, kill a couple of Soviet soldiers, and Zam, get arrested and then executed. [00:00:26] Sound good? [00:00:28] Let's do it. [00:00:30] You didn't think I was going to say that, did you? [00:00:32] You didn't think you were going to say that, no? [00:00:57] The cold opens have declined precipitously after nine hours of recording about JFK because I no longer find humor in anything. [00:01:07] Hello, everyone. [00:01:08] Welcome. [00:01:09] Hi. [00:01:09] This is Truanon. [00:01:10] My name is Liz. [00:01:12] My name is Brace. [00:01:14] We are joined by producer Young Chomsky. [00:01:18] Like I said, this is Truidon. [00:01:19] This is Truidon JFK part three. [00:01:24] Trace. [00:01:25] That's how they would say it in Cuba. [00:01:28] Of question mark, question mark, question mark. [00:01:30] Oh, yeah. [00:01:30] Lots of question marks there. [00:01:33] What are we talking about this episode? [00:01:34] I don't fucking remember. [00:01:35] We recorded it five hours ago. [00:01:37] I don't know what we talked about. [00:01:38] I can't tell you. [00:01:39] What did we talk about? [00:01:40] Wait, no, this is going to bother me. [00:01:41] What did we talk about? [00:01:42] We talked about Lee Harvey Oswald for two hours. [00:01:45] Oh, yeah. [00:01:46] Yeah, that's what we did. [00:01:46] We talked about Lee Harvey Oswald for two hours. [00:01:48] Oh, my man, Lee. [00:01:50] I know. [00:01:51] Again. [00:01:51] Greatest Marxist-Leninist in American history. [00:01:54] Did you ever make that joke? [00:01:56] We, in fact, did make that joke. [00:01:58] But again, that was like 15 hours ago. [00:02:00] So how could anyone blame us? [00:02:01] No one's going to remember. [00:02:02] You know what? [00:02:03] We made that joke when I made that joke just now. [00:02:06] Exactly. [00:02:07] A female comedian alert. [00:02:09] Let us hit the button. [00:02:28] I'm not going to try to do a little quirky, fun introduction here. [00:02:33] I had this whole thing where I was going to say we're in Minsk at a factory and we're welcoming in our new employees, but then I couldn't pronounce Minsk. [00:02:44] And so it sort of fell through. [00:02:45] So I will just welcome them here in a more normal and dignified manner. [00:02:51] We have with us here today independent researcher Ben and of course Aaron Good, who has earned his PhD writing about U.S. hegemony, elite criminality, and the deep state. [00:03:00] His dissertation is going to be published soon by Skyhorse Books. [00:03:04] And inshallah, the link will be in the description for this episode. [00:03:09] But if it's not, we'll put a link to something else and then update it later. [00:03:13] Fellas, welcome to Minsk. [00:03:16] Thrilled to get you here. [00:03:18] It's great to be here. [00:03:19] It's colder than I thought. [00:03:21] Yeah, yeah. [00:03:22] A lot less fun, too. [00:03:24] In fact, I've been returning home shortly. [00:03:28] We are sort of gathered here to talk about one of the pivotal but often overlooked figures in the assassination of JFK, which would be an obscure character in history known as Lee Harvey Oswald. [00:03:44] What an icon, huh? [00:03:46] Yeah, truly an American icon. === Lee Harvey Oswald: Misconceptions Unveiled (01:07) === [00:03:49] And I think there's a lot of public conceptions and misconceptions about Lee Harvey Oswald. [00:03:56] I know there are a lot of sort of dueling theories about him, although many of them sort of do line up that he was an intelligence agent in some capacity. [00:04:05] And we figured if we're going to talk about the JFK assassination and we're going to talk about one of the so-called perpetrators, or at least somebody who was involved in some way, whether that be as just a Patsy or a gunman or whatever, we would really have to kind of take an examination of Lee Harvey Oswald's life. [00:04:23] And I think there's sort of just, I mean, from my own memory of just how I've seen him portrayed in sort of popular media, he's sort of been this like simple, almost like haze seed type guy, weirdly like a combination of both like a hick and like a dumb like New York guy who just had this like, you know, incredible grudge against the U.S. government, was a maybe low IQ type communist, which, [00:04:50] you know, true of many communists, but with Lee Harvey Oswald, things are a little different.
