	I know we are all engrossed in news about tariffs, but something's happened at the United States Treasury and in a larger takeover of our government that is really the biggest story, not only of the weekend, but perhaps.
	in the history of the United States.
	Elon Musk, the richest man in the world and someone who has not been elected to government office and who serves as the head of Doge, now has access to payment systems at the United States Treasury.
	The New York Times reports it this way.
	Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent gave representatives of the so-called Department of Government Efficiency access to the federal payment system late on Friday, according to five people familiar with the change.
