Dan takes us through a leaked memo from AG Merrick Garland that states there won't be indictments before the midterms. Does this mean Trump will never be indicted? Is Garland too much of an institutionalist to pursue justice in this case?
Brad then takes us on a tour through extremist Christian nationalist policies from around the country with a focus on Maryland and Idaho. Some highlights: The John Birch Society, God granting the right to handheld killing machines, no exceptions for abortion when a woman's life is in danger, repealing the 16th amendment, and codifying originalism as an interpretive strategy.

It's good to see you, Brad, as we dive into yet another week that's, you know, obviously slow in news and nothing happening in our country.
First, yeah, you know, you are a full professor.
The Academy, if I've learned anything, works on hierarchy and prestige.
You don't get paid that much and, you know, there's a lot of other drawbacks, but at least, you know, we have our hierarchy and our prestige.
That's what we always can go back on, Dan.
So that's, that's what really matters in life.
I missed last week.
Thank you to you and Sarah for holding down the fort.
I was at a conference, the Apari conference, which is a conference on Asian Pacific American religion down at USC, which was amazing.
I just wanna shout out all the folks there for an amazing conference.
So many times in the academy, sometimes conferences feel like competitions and who's the smartest, who's the most important.
And this just wasn't one of those.
It was one full of welcome and community, and it was just, it was really great.
So, if you were there and I got to meet you, I'm just thankful for that opportunity.

So last night, Dan, one more round of J6 hearings.
And I think this will lead us into some talk about AG Merrick Garland and a memo that was released and some other things that broke this week.
We'll also talk about what's happening around the country with just the slow moving coup and the Christian nationalist attempt to end our democracy.
So, you know, nothing big.
Why not?
All right.
Dan, here's some takeaways I have from the hearings last night.
I know many of you probably watched them.
I know some of you probably did not.
I know many of you might be catching up today in terms of just news and getting a summary.
Let's just go through some of the things that were talked about last night.
Once again, the committee went through how there were multiple reports of weapons in the crowd.
And still, Donald Trump said, let's all walk down to the Capitol.
I'm going to walk with you.
So once again, we know Donald Trump is being told there are weapons in the crowd.
There are people trying to enter.
Uh, the crowd and their weapons are being taken off them because they're being detected by the metal detectors.
And still he's saying, let's go down together to the Capitol.
Okay.
There we go.
As the violence unfolds, and really this hearing was really about 187 minutes in my mind.
187 minutes between when the violence starts and when Trump finally gets on video and says to stop and go home, in really kind of ambiguous terms.
