And she told me the story of her son.
And this, I've heard a lot of stories, a lot of factual stories.
And this story here bothers me like no other.
And you guys are going to get to hear her side of the story, okay?

He was shot in the back of the head twice.

So my name is Tina Slay.
I live in Springfield, Missouri.
I'm a mom of three.
Caleb is my only son, my oldest, and on November 2.nd, 2020 at 3.30 in the afternoon, I got a phone call from the neighbors across the street from his house and they said, you need to get over here.
Something has happened.
And so I got on the phone with my parents who had also received a phone call.
I tried to call the police department to ask them if there was something going on at my son's house.
They wouldn't tell me anything.
So I said, I'm on my way.
I need to come over there and see what's going on.
And as I'm going over there, over the scanner, they said, mother on way, we'll break through barrier.
Please stop at all costs.
Say that one more time.
It went over the scanner that the mom is on the way.
We'll break through barrier.
Stop at all costs.
And that's what they said on the police scanner.
And all I said was, I'm coming.
I'm on my way over there.
That's all I said.
I got there and parked where they told me to park.
And I was there at probably 3.45, 10 till 4 my parents showed up my daughter showed up and it wasn't until 8 40 p.m. that we were notified that my son was deceased and so i will go and now tell you how he became deceased Two
undercover DEA agents by the name of John Stewart and Tony Gasparoni were called out into the field by a drug task force officer named MedTag.
to surveil a vehicle and they lost dead surveillance so they gathered at a Walmart parking lot John Stewart
claims to have seen a red Pontiac g6 engage in a hand-to-hand drug sale so Stewart and Gasparoni followed this Pontiac they found it it was parked there was nobody there so they
they go back to the walmart and they're in the walmart parking lot and they see a rented Ford F-150 U-Haul pickup truck at a known drug apartment and a guy get out, go to the door, knock on the door, no one's there.
Guy goes back, sits in the truck.
He goes back to the apartment door.
He goes into the apartment.
They don't know.
They don't see anything.
They don't, they can't.
Unless they have x-ray vision, I don't know.
This gentleman's name is Casey Ray.
Casey Ray comes back out of the apartment, gets into the U-Haul, and drives three miles to my son's neighborhood with Jon Stewart following in a van and Tony Gasperoni following in a dodge journey.
Jon Stewart pulls in behind Casey Ray and Gasperoni has to go around the block to come back so he's not there yet.
John Stewart gets out of his vehicle and approaches the Ford F 150, opens the door and pulls Casey Ray out of the truck.
Now Casey Ray is the guy that the DEA is now following.
Is that correct?
That is correct.
Okay, keep going.
What?
According to the police report, Jon Stewart didn't notice the car that was parked nose to nose with KC Ray.
And in that car was my son and his friend parked in front of his home, my son's home that he lived in.
Now hold on.
So, as you stop, stop, stop, stop, stop.
You're saying your son with his friend was parked nose to nose with this guy in front of his home.
His home is literally in front of where they're parked at.
Is that correct?
That is correct.
Okay, move forward.
So Caleb and his friend see what's going on.
They're not sure what's going on because this is a plainclothes officer.
He's not wearing plainclothes.
No badge, no uniform, no nothing.
No badge, no uniform.
So they get out of the car and start going to Caleb's house to remove themselves from the situation.
At that time, Gasparoni pulls up beside that car and he gets out and he's he's starting to put on his ballistics vest and he screams hey yo man where are you going and caleb not seeing who's behind him says, I'm going in my effing house.
Gasperoni says, I need you to come back.
So Caleb turned around and he came back.
And his friend, he was told to sit in the car and his friend sat down in the car.
So now Caleb is standing in front of Tony Gasperoni, face to face with him, with his hands behind his back, kind of what I call that an Addy's stance.
That's how he always stood in front of people, kind of as this show of respect of giving them his attention.
And Gasperoni says, yo man.
Yo man, I can't see your hands.
I don't know if you have a gun.
So Caleb takes his hands out, turns them up, puts his palms together like this.
And he says, Sir, I legally carry a gun.
It's on my front white waistband.
Would you please remove it for your safety and mine?
Now hold on.
Stop.
Let me stop you for a second.
Now, how do you know he said this?
Because there are eyewitnesses, Casey Ray, Caleb's friend Eddie, and even the DEA agent Tony Gasparoni says Caleb told him that.
That no, not your son's friend, the DEA agent.
said this in their police report.
That's what you're telling.
Yes, sir.
Okay, move forward.
Gasparoni then grabs Caleb's wrist and screams, John, he's got a gun.
Stewart then cuffs Casey Ray, kind of throws him on the front lawn and comes up from behind my son and reaches to grab the gun.
And he startled my son who jerked backward.
And when he did that, they fell.
John Stewart and Caleb fell and Caleb fell on top of John Stewart.
So as he was getting up off of John Stewart., Tony Gasparoni comes from behind him, puts the gun to his head and cries, I'm going to kill you motherfucker and shot him twice at point blank range.
Okay.
Now, me and you have talked a couple times and you told me the autopsy said it was point blank range, but the shooter, the DEA agent said that he was X amount of feet away.
How many feet away was he?
Maybe 10 to 15 feet.
He said he was at a distance and that he aimed upward at Caleb because John or sorry, Tony Gasperoni is 5'5 and Caleb is 6'3.
But the autopsy report shows the trajectory of the bullet down forward and to the right and it ended up the first bullet ended up right here.
So it went downward.
So unless Gasperoni was standing on a ladder.
10 to 15 feet behind my son, there's no way.
And there was stippling on his head, which indicates a contact wound, a contact shot, less than two centimeters.
Okay, let me go back for a second.
So what I'm gathering in my brain right now is that your son was startled.
Okay, the guy behind him comes up, startles him, that he jumps, they fall back.
So he falls back on this guy and evidently he turns around to get up and as he is getting up, the other officer from that was then facing in front is now behind him and just shoots him in the back of the head.
Is that what you're saying?
Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying.
And that all so that officer never fell down.
That officer was standing in position for the time being.
from the very beginning, is that correct?
That is correct.
So it's not like, I mean, the officer, because when we were talking, I thought the officer on the bottom was the one that shot because, you know, he's somebody's falling on him, this, that and the other.
But you're saying the one that was standing in front of him, you know, he gets startled, he falls back and he's still sitting there, your son has to get up.
And okay.
You said, how many feet away?
He said he was about 10 to 15 feet away and he was not.
He had to be less than 2 centimeters.
According to the autopsy report, according to the forensic evidence.
Okay, so now they shot this one officer.
What's his name again?
Tony Gasparoni.
Tony Gasparoni.
Tony Gasparoni has now shot your son twice in the back of the head.
What happens then?
They handcuffed Caleb.
They what?
They handcuffed him face down.
He was face down.
Handcuffed him, stood on his back, handcuffed him.
Removed his weapon, took it to their vehicle and called 911.
And neither of them performed any life saving measures on my son at all.
So your son's been shot back in the head twice.
He's handcuffed face down.
They call 911 and do nothing whatsoever to perform any kind of life saving measurements.
Now, what's standard protocol with all this?
Standard protocol for law enforcement agencies are once they have secured the weapon, they are to perform life saving measurementsures to preserve life.
They secured the weapon.
Your son's face down with his hands behind his back, and then their protocol is to do what again?
Perform life-saving measures.
And that happened how many times?
None.
Okay, so move forward.
While on the phone with 911, they were asking Jon Stewart if Caleb had a pulse and if he would do CPR.
And all Jon Stewart wanted to do was talk to his supervisor, and he did not want to.
do any of it.
Now hold on.
This officer is talking to 911.
The 911 officer is telling him what to do to move forward.
And he says, give me a supervisor.
Correct.
He wanted to talk to his supervisor, his DEA resident supervisor.
And what does the 911 agent say?
I don't recall the exact words, but they were kind of aggravated with him.
Okay, so now move forward.
He, he, he, all he cares about is his supervisor.
Why, why, why is all he cares about about is his supervisor?
That's a very good question.
I don't have an answer for.
Okay, so keep going.
So Springfield Police Department shows up in response.
Springfield Fire Department shows up in response and they were denied access to the scene to preserve scene integrity.
Stop, stop, stop, stop again.
We got DEA there.
This is a federal investigation.
The local police and the local fire department show up and they're what again?
They were denied access to preserve scene integrity.
And those are the exact words in the policeice report.
Paramedics were allowed, but the first responders with the fire department were denied.
Okay, so fire departments denied.
Now paramedics finally get there and then what happens?
They did not unhandcuff Caleb.
was still face down.
They hooked up leads to the back of his legs and the back underneath his shirt and they found a pulse.
They did what?
They found a pulse.
His heart was beating.
How much time has been gone now?
Roughly.
Roughly 14.5 minutes.
14.5 minutes has gone by.
Now, how far is the nearest hospital, the nearest emergency care?
How far is anything from him?
Less than a minute away.
A block.
How far?
About a block and a half, two blocks from a level one trauma center.
Line one trauma center.
Right.
Now say that one more time.
Less than two blocks or a minute to a level one trauma center, Mercy Hospital.
So there's a hospital right down the street is what you're saying.
Yes.
And you got evidence of this?
Yes.
You sent that to my producer where you actually walked the distance from...

All right, everybody.
What I'm going to do is I'm going to show you something.
You see this patch right here?
You see this car right here?
Right here is where Casey Ray was.
Right there where that trash can is just on the other side of that tree is where my son lost his life.
So now it is 5.04 p.m. on Friday and I'm going to drive down this road because I know that during the dark it was hard to see.
Now understand that's four houses from the major street that I just left.
I want to show you in real time exactly what it would have taken.
to get to Mercy ER.
If I'd gone the other way, it could have been quicker.
But let me just show you.
So here's the stop sign.
I'm at Cherokee and Maryland Avenue for anybody who wants to Google Earth this.
I've made one turn because I have a stop sign.
Now understand, I'm not running lights and sirens.
I'm driving normally.
It's not raining in the video for my attorney.
It's not doing any of the sort.
But look you here.
There's Mercy Hospital.
All I have to do is get through this nice little light right here.
It's 505.
Look at this.
And there's the how close my son was to help.
My son sat on that ground for 15 minutes fighting to breathe.
15 minutes.
As we're talking, put that in there, Zach.
So now your son's been down for, you said 14 minutes, is that correct?
Correct.
The hospital's less than two minutes away.
They get a pulse.
One minute.
One minute away.
One minute away.
They get a pulse.
Then what happens?
They got a pulse now.
What's happened now?
The paramedics decid decide that his injuries are too great and he's not going to live.
So they don't do anything and they sit there and wait for a doctor from Mercy to pronounce him dead over the phone 17 minutes after he was shot.
Hold on, Tina.
The paramedics have a pulse.
The hospital is one minute away.
How do they confirm that there's nothing can be done?
I don't comprehend this.
I don't comprehend it either because I didn't realize that paramedics were medical doctors and could make such determinations.
Okay.
So he's now pronounced dead by a medical doctor on the phone that hasn't checked a pulse.
The paramedics checked a pulse.
pulse.
He had a pulse.
And now they've determined he's dead.
I'm lost.
Me too.
So what happens next?
Tony Gasperoni.
The officer that that that shot him twice in the back of the head, correct?
That's Gasperoni.
He gets transported by the medics to the hospital.
He gets transported to the hospital.
Why?
What happened to him?
Nothing.
He shot my son.
And they transfer him to the hospital because of what?
Good question.
Okay, so he goes to the hospital.
Then what?
I'm already on scene.
You're on scene now?
You're the call to mom.
Don't let her through.
She's on scene.
So now you're on scene.
Now what's going on?
Whole lot of officers sitting down there talking.
And it was not until, this is at 3.48 p.m.
when they pronounced him dead.
dead it wasn't until 8 30 pm that detective Kelly Patton came to my family and I to tell us that Caleb had been killed.
And I asked Detective Patton because I there was already news reporters on the scene.
And I said, would you please not release his name for 24 hours?
Because my eight-year-old daughter, his little sister, is at home.
And I don't want her to hear this on the news at nine o'clock.
And Detective Patton looked me dead in the face and said, no, ma'am, we will not put his name out to the media tonight.
We will not put his name on the media report in the morning.
We'll do it later.
And I said, "Thank you." while I'm there while I'm there nine o'clock rolls around And Chief Paul Williams decided.
And who's Paul Williams?
Who's Paul Williams?
He's the chief of the Springfield Police Department.
The chief of police decides to do what?
Release Caleb's name to the media.
So at 9 o'clock on the news while my eight-year-old daughter is at home, she had to hear that her brother was dead on the news without her mom, without her dad, without her grandparents and her sister.
And why did they decide to do this after telling you, no, we're not going to do this tonight.
We're not going to do this tomorrow.
That's a really good question too.
The only thing that I can figure out is that police have a PR person and in order to get ahead of a narrative they're going to release what they can as fast as they can so that their version of events is already in the minds of the public before an investigation has even started Okay,
Tina, we got to go to commercial break, but when we come back, okay.
Your son was an athlete.
He was a he was a cheerleader.
He was a bouncer.
And again, I need you to walk through.
Again, I'm playing devil's advocate, but both sides, okay?
You know, there's this guy that's allegedly a drug dealer.
He pulls up at alleged or not alleged.
He actually pulls up at your son's house.
DH followed him.
Your son's in the car.
Get, you know, right nose up to him.
It's all legit and my understanding of law, what probable causes do they have to do with any of this stuff?
Even if your son is freaking lighting up, doing whatever, what probable causes do they have to do anything with your son?
Hold those thoughts.
Don't bring that up.
Because I want to go over that because this is where it gets very interesting.
When you understand the true law, God's law, and do no harm.
And how is it, you know, they were able to do any of this?
And was this legal?
Was this lawful?
And again, you know, I don't know anything about your son.
I've looked over the police report now and whatnot.
And I don't care what was going on.
You know, if allegedly he was on some kind of drugs or whatnot, what even if he was, what reason did they have to shoot him in the back of the head?
Not once, but twice.

we asked the medical examiner as he was leaving When did we need to come down and identify my son?
His response was, that's only in the movies.

So no one in my family ever had the opportunity to see Caleb.

I mean, why wouldn't they investigate?
Why wouldn't they go and get my son's gun?

um what they found they found caleb's cell phone in his pocket and they found another cell phone in the yard with a broken screen whose cell phone wasone was remotely wiped clean.

November 5th of this year, just a few days after the five year mark.

The prosecuting attorney Dan Patterson ruled this justified because of officer safety.

He disregarded, as everyone seems to disregard, the four eyewitnesses when Dan Patterson.
When they made this ruling of it being justified, it was January 9th, 2021.
Protocol for the city of Springfield, Springfield Police Department, and the prosecutor's office is to call the family ahead of time to give them a heads up of their determination of this case.
I found out five minutes before the six o'clock news when a news reporter called me to get a quote.
on how I felt about this case being ruled justified.
So yet again, the Springfield Police Department disregards their own protocols, their own anything, and treated my family with no respect, no compassion, and no dignity.

Andrew Bailey told me that the governor of the state of Missouri could not get involved unless the Springfield Police Department asked him to step in.

Eric Schmidt's office, who at that time was my attorney general.

And Eric Schmidt, who is elected, who according to the constitution of the state of Missouri, can open up an investigation into anything he sees fit.
Eric Schmidt told me, unfortunately, unless the governor asks him to step in with a special prosecutor case to investigate this, there's nothing he can do.
My aunt and uncle, personal friends of Senator Roy Blunt, reached out to Senator Blunt.
Senator Blunt refused to talk to them.
I reached out to Billy Long.
I reached out to Jos the Senate Judiciary Committee.
I have reached out to Crystal Quaid here in the state of Missouri.
I have reached out to every politician.
I just went down the roster at my state level, at my federal level, and I just started calling them.
And nobody cares.

Well, apparently people contacted Sheriff Arnott because he then emailed me and he told me that he was getting hateful emails, which I never sent to him.

He told me that if I did not make a public statement to have people stop.
contacting him, he was not going to look into my son's case any further.
And I said, Sheriff, I don't know what you're talking about, but let me make.
sure I'm understanding you.
If I don't make this statement, you will not continue to look into my son's case.
And he said, I'm doing this as a personal favor to you.
And I said, Sheriff, I just want you to do your job.
I don't want a favor.
I just want you to do the job in which you were elected to do.
So then he informs me that Now my threats are going to be taken to the prosecutor.
And I'm sitting here dumbfounded going, what threats?
So I'm out and now at this event and Sheriff Arnott walks in and I am talking to Doug Billings.
And I leaned over and I said, hey, Doug, I have a feeling I'm about to get kicked out of this event.
And he said, for what?
And I said, because the sheriff doesn't like me.
Two minutes later, two undercover officers approached me and said, ma'am, could you step outside, please?

He did not win, but he was one of President Trump's attorneys.
He asked me for the civil case number because he wanted to follow this case.
And he is President Trump's right hand right now.

He is the one writing all the executive orders for the president.
he promised me that if president trump got elected that he would personally walk me into the department of justice to help me file my complaint so did anything happen with that no it did not um i asked him if he would reach out to cash battel since i'd already talked to cash battel um Then when I didn't get anywhere with that,
I sent him an email and I said, would you mind just giving an email to the president?
If you would do that for me, I would really appreciate it.
And the email that I got back to him from him was, because I'm in a civil suit, missouri bar ethics because he is a missouri attorney prevents him from any further communication with me on this matter all because i asked him if he would give a letter from me to president trump and i asked my attorney is there any validity to this and he he laughed and
said there's no validity to any of it because he's not involved in this lawsuit therefore the ethics violations cannot affect him so in other words it's another passing of the book from another politician.

I talked to Eric Trump the same day that I talked to Cash Patel and I told him what happened to my son.
