	This is pretty incredible stuff going on right now in Washington, D.C. Right now, 12 o'clock, 12.03 Eastern Standard Time.

	And I can report to you that right now, the vote was originally scheduled to take place at 9.30, and it took place a few minutes ago, and Rick Scott was eliminated.

	And so now John Cornyn and John Thune, it goes on to his second ballot.
	And we're going to see where everything shakes out after that.
	This is, you know, not good for the MAGA movement, if you will.
	Unless there, of course, are some deals that have been made to allow Trump to have recess appointments.

	Now, it's interesting to note that it's now been two days or 48 hours 48 hours since it was leaked or the New York Post or the New York Times, Maggie Haberman, she comes out and she says, Margot Rubio's the guy, Secretary of State, and then nothing.
	We've had no official announcement, no official email, no official truth social post from Trump as of now, as of this broadcast.
	So we really don't know, and so maybe there is some hostage-taking going on.
	Here was Mike Lee back at, let's see, 1042 Central Time, 1142 Eastern Time, saying they were casting ballots.

	I heard Steve Bannon say that it would be better to get Cornyn in there because he's actually up for election in two years in Texas and the voters might actually finally be able to hold him accountable.
	It's embarrassing that a state like Texas has a senator as useless as Cornyn.

	And top secret, of course, no press invited to decide who's going to be the next Senate majority leader.
	And I'm just telling you this, that's not what we the people want.
	We want full transparency with our elected officials, especially all elected officials that we pay their salary with U.S. taxpayer dollars.
	We pay their salary, we pay their staff, we pay their And I'm just telling you this, that's not what we the people want.

	Senator Thune from South Dakota did win the race for the Senate Majority Leader, which is a tragedy because right now President Trump is at the White House.
	Elon Musk joined him, and Senator Thune does not support President Trump.
	So this is going to be a huge mess.
	All of the pro-Trump people need to realize that this vote never should have happened.
	And since last week, you know, real journalists like you and me and The National File have been telling everyone this vote needs to be public, number one.
	But number two, it needs to be postponed.
	Now we have the Senator Thune Oh.
	You know, and you just got to wonder, like, and I think you mentioned this in some of your coverage earlier in the morning, you know, when America went and voted for Donald Trump, we were not voting for Mitch McConnell 2.0.
	We were not voting for that brand.
	I mean, it's very, very obvious that Donald Trump was, well, he's just a wrecking ball when it comes to their version of what Washington, D.C. should look like.
	And yet, they don't want to take a hint, right?

	You have people like Thune, you have people like Cornyn, who were piling on as the lawfare was going on.
	And we're saying he can't win, he can't be elected.

	That's all been leaks.
	So, I mean, there could be some hostage-taking going on here in terms of, hey, we're not going to give you your recess appointments unless you put a neocon as the Secretary of State.

	I mean, I'm hearing that it could be Marco Rubio, but you know, that would not be a really wise decision either, and that's what I'm concerned about.

	We need to make sure that all of the other picks for every single cabinet member is America First MAGA. Well, you know, what's interesting is, it's just kind of dawning on me, it could very well be, you know, McConnell, you're talking about how he called the vote so early, ahead of schedule.

	I think his re-election has sent such shockwaves and such a panic that this is their reaction.

	Less than 90 days that we have before the inauguration.
	And we just saw it today, the fact that Mitch McConnell Pulled a fast one and called a vote early is his fault, but also only Senator Ron Johnson said we should postpone the vote.
	Only Senator Ron Johnson stood up and said anything about making this vote public because the vote should have been public.
	They all want to keep their seniority.
	They all want to make sure they get the committee that they were promised.
	Because they've known McConnell was going to step down now for months.
	And so they've all been jockeying for that.

	It has still not been put up on the Twitter—still not been put up over on his Truth Social, rather.

	So in response to Trump picking his cabinet, a guy by the name of Chris D. Jackson, who is— Let's see the blue wave.
	He's a party chairman.
	He's got his picture outside the White House, right?
	So this guy has decided to kind of gloat about the LGBTQRSTL and the makeup of the Democrats.
	So as Trump is trying to pick his cabinet, we got a guy, a Democrat, saying, diverse, qualified, productive.
	That's the Biden cabinet.
	Only now do we realize just how lucky we were.
	Okay.
	Well, so I'm approaching this from a Christian standpoint, and that's why Jeremy Carl, who's a friend of the program, used to be working under the Trump administration, Department Assistant Secretary of the Interior, Jeremy Carl, good guy.

	It's a small Presbyterian denomination that is, you know, reformed.
	And if you guys are familiar with Pastor in Idaho, Doug Wilson from Moscow, Idaho, that's that same denomination.
	And I thought, wait, what?
	You've got to be absolutely kidding me.
	Are you serious?
	That is incredibly good news to me.
	As someone who's a Presbyterian myself, not of that particular denomination, but I couldn't believe it.
	So that got me thinking, because I also know of reported moral failures of Pete Hexeth and everything else, and I know everybody wants to rush and wants to talk about them, that So here's Ben Zeiss.
	We're going to get to a bunch of takes here because it's all over the place.

	If you thought for a moment, even a moment, you'd get a Secretary of Defense that was not pro-Israel, I don't understand where your head could be at.
	Yeah, I expected this as well.
	He's done a lot of good for vets, and any man that knows the trauma war causes firsthand is less likely to promote one.
	So we've got a guy who's actually been overseas.
	Got bronze stars.
	Okay.
	And then we have this.
	He was on a podcast a few days ago, and he started talking about...

	Translation, the worst people in America, D.C. insiders don't like it.

	So this is the idea that the Pentagon is freaking out.
	And then we have this clip as well.
	In 2016, I was under consideration by Trump to be his VA secretary.
	Nice.
	I was interviewed multiple times.
	In fact, I was down to the final two.
	And, you know, go up to Trump Tower, up the elevator, sit with him, talk about it.
	And ultimately, I think he thought I was a little young and all that.
	But I remember he called me at one point in the process, and he said...
	Pete, I want to pick you.
	I want to pick you, but there's one problem.
	Why do all the veterans groups hate you?
	And I sort of laughed.
	And he goes, no, but they hate you.
	And I'm like, well, Mr.
	President, let me tell you why.
	Because outside the box thinking of, say, providing private choice for veterans is a threat, complete threat to the ecosystem around the government bureaucracy and the VA and the veterans groups.
	I mean, if the veterans were all well served, what would you need a lot of these programs for?
	That's kind of like the Second Amendment of the NRA.
	I'm not saying the NRA doesn't do good things, but if constitutional carry was restored throughout America, what do we need the NRA for?
	They exist to defend their territory.
	And they'll say, oh, it's for the betterment of the vets.
	Well, if vets are getting better treatment from nonconventional places, why aren't we exploring that?

	That's my opinion.
	So here it is.
	The boys over at CrossPolitik Podcast, they say that when they heard this statement last night, they said, huge win.
	Pete Hegseth is a godly Christian man.
	He is a member of a CREC church and classically educates his kids.
	He'll get the wokeness out of the military, which will unfathomably bless our nation.
	Alright, now, so one of the hosts, Gabe Wrench, from Cross Politics, says, Yes, we are very aware of Pete's past.
	He has been very transparent about it to me personally.
	It is true he did not live for Christ for years, which got him into his third marriage, and it is also true that he repented of those sins and is following Christ now.
	Death and resurrection, repentance and restoration is now who Pete is, and that is why he is now a godly man.
	So yeah, there are moral failings, public moral failings that we know about, but we know what the gospel is, right?
	What does Christ do?
	He saves people from their sins, right?
	And that is a mercy from heaven.
	So it's interesting because, I mean, as we keep going for, I mean, here's another example.
	I don't know what date he posted this, but so I want us to marinate on this for a second, okay?
	This is Pete Hexeth.
	This is the guy, you know, this is the guy who may be the next Secretary of Defense posting that Jesus died for us.
	Jesus Christ was sinless.
	But he died for our sins.
	We don't deserve his grace, but he gives it freely.
	Today he is in the grave, but Sunday he rises.
	Christ is king.
	This phrase that we've even been told by some is an anti-Semitic dog whistle.
	Pete Hexeth saying that Christ is king.
	A.D. Robles reminding us that not only that, but if you're in Christian reform circles like I am, this was not on my bingo card.
	And I know, look, I know you can always find something negative to say, but Pete Hegseth, Deus Volt, has a tattoo of Deus Volt on his arms.
	Which means God wills it.
	This is an old-fashioned way of saying that God is sovereign and God is in control.
	And I'm telling you, that right there is more terrifying.
	Somebody that knows this, somebody that proclaims this, somebody that relies on that, is more of a threat to the Washington, D.C. swamp.
	The military-industrial complex, which he even, that phrase, military-industrial complex, It's something that Pete Hegseth has talked about.
	And then, just on a personal note, on the education of our kids, this will resonate with a lot of conservatives right here.
	It should.
	But what are you doing about your own family?
	What do you do about your kids and your grandkids?
	That's what you have to save right now.
	Find The potential incoming Secretary of Defense knows what Classical Conversations is?
	I'm just trying to illustrate.
	Maybe you guys don't know what Classical Conversations...
	This is a very niche, homeschooled, Christian, classical way to educate your kids.
	It's fantastic.
	It's all centered around math, science, literature, art, all of that in their graph.

	This is what they teach.
	They teach that, well, if you can't understand who God is, how do we understand who God is?
	Well, by reading His Word.
	You can't fully understand math and science and all of these other things around the circle unless you first are grounded in who God is because that is the source of actual knowledge.
	That is the source of real, true enlightenment.
	And so that is the way.
	And this guy understands.
	This guy understands what Classical Conversations is.
	It is incredible.
	It's just incredible to me that this is even a possibility.

	Ben Ziesloft, who is an abolitionist, wants to, you know, as I am, more of an incrementalist than he is, admittedly.
	He says, praise the Lord that a solid Christian man like Pete Hegseth has been nominated to serve as our next Secretary of Defense.
	Marination only waged just wars under his leadership.
	But the first priority of Pete Hexeth must pursue ending abortion enabled by the military.
	Our military currently funds travel expenses and offers paid time off for service members who want to murder their pre-born babies.
	In theory, that policy could enable more than 4,000 abortions bankrolled by taxpayers each year.
	Okay, what else do we have?
	Okay, so transitioning as we wind down the show because my time is almost up.

	We're going to try to get him back on.
	uh we interviewed him about four weeks ago uh Trump transition team now creating a warrior board to purge useless generals Ivan Raikland likes that Let's see, what else do we have?
	Yeah, again, still don't know about this.
	It's been two days since it was leaked in the media that Rubio was the Secretary of State, and Trump still has not publicly confirmed this.
	Ron Paul says it would be a horrible idea.
	And then this was the report I was telling you about, and I don't know, this is just a random report on Twitter from the Libertarian Caucus.
	It's saying, we're hearing that Mitch McConnell has threatened Trump with no Senate confirmation hearings unless a neocon like Marco Rubio is made Secretary of State.
	I don't know if that's true, but we will certainly wait and find out.
