Welcome back to Shots Fired.
Well, last week, a major tragedy occurred.
The Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland collapsed when a Dolly cargo ship ran into it in the wee hours of the middle of the night of March 26, killing six construction workers, all Hispanic, by the way, and rattling Maryland to its core.
This was a major economic region in Maryland, and now it's Hello, thank you for joining us.
We begin with an image from the Patapsco River near Baltimore where nothing looks right.
The bridge that protects us from the water is in the water.
A cargo vessel stuck speared on the pylon it crashed into at 1.30 in the morning early Tuesday.
The bridge once spanned a vital shipping route to the port of Baltimore.
Authorities were searching for six people who had been working on the bridge.
Now, it's a recovery mission.
Based on the length of time that we've gone in this search, the extensive search efforts that we've put into it, the water temperature, that at this point we do not believe that we're going to find any of these individuals still alive.
We are going to suspend the active search and rescue efforts.
Now this is pretty crazy.
A lot of people are suspecting foul play here.
We know obviously that the deep state is no stranger to setting up specific events and tragedies that look like they're accidents, like trains derailing and food processing plants suddenly catching on fire.
Cows burning and ranches and farms catching fire.
So we don't know exactly what's going on here, but there's a lot of anomalies about this incident that seem odd and that seem like it wasn't just a natural, organic accident here.
And our hearts go out to all the individuals and families affected by this horrible tragedy.
This is, again, one of these things that are so major, it's truly shaking up the nation.
The Port of Baltimore is a key economic engine, employing tens of thousands, but it's currently immobilized with debris littering the Petosco River.
Officials have said they're tapping into billions in emergency federal dollars to remove the wreckage to allow ship traffic and rebuild the bridge as quick as possible and insurers are also stepping in to cover the costs.
Now here to talk about it is a man that wants to go just by the name of Matthew.
He doesn't want to use his last name to be anonymous but he's been in the shipping and cargo industry his whole life and he's a former Coast Guard member And he wants to talk about this.
He has some things to say about it and try to answer some questions and add clarity to this horrific tragedy.
So Matthew, thanks so much for joining Shots Fired.
Matt, how are you?
Honored to be here, Ms.
Lorraine.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
First, I just want to, before we go into the details of this bridge collapsing and what happened, tell us a little bit about sort of your background and how you are experienced in this area to begin with, sort of your jobs and your background here.
Yes, ma'am.
Started in the Coast Guard in 1994.
Did 10 plus years offshore, walking divers for Cowdive International.
And I've got 12 plus years docking ships, Mississippi River, East Coast.
Obviously this is something of interest to me because I've done so much of this.
And you know, let me start off saying there are things, there are a lot of questions that aren't answered, but I can tell you after doing this for 12 years, For the normal zero hyperbole reasons is the maritime industry as a whole.
This is something that's done every day.
And to see something like this is very dramatic.
It's catastrophic because of professional mariners.
I know folks that have gone like myself from the deck.
On up to the wheelhouse and even beyond, becoming pilots.
So this is not something that you normally see, a ship coming out of this port, being sailed by two tugs.
You know, then getting out of shape, losing power two to three times.
I'm hearing up to three times.
You know, what I've tried to do, Ms.
Lorraine, is give some clarity to answer some questions.
I know folks want answers.
Obviously, this is going to, you know, as far as you mentioned with other things, anomalies that have occurred as far as the Production plants and all the fires and all that food processing plants, the trains, right?
The fires we've seen in California.
And this is some of the stuff that I've been covering since 2017.
So this is kind of a unique situation.
I've been known to wear a tinfoil hat, if you will.
Folks that I've worked with in the maritime business are probably, you know, oh my goodness, I wonder what Matthew's going to say about this and I'll tell you this.
I don't want to make assumptions.
I don't want to make any guesses but I will tell you Ms.
Lorraine what I'm most troubled by Is the NTSB report about the audio and the video moments before this ship hit this bridge.
Okay, what is that?
Tell everybody that might not know what is this report that they're saying.
Well, they have a data recorder.
We had them on the tugs that I was on board that record audio, and they also record some record video.
For some reasoning, this audio was incomplete and the video that I'm hearing.
Now we'll see hopefully see the results out of the final investigation but I can tell you the other questions that I heard was why weren't the tugs with the ship the entire time?
Now I could speak on this because You know, I kind of feel like I represent the maritime industry, the people that are doing it, they can't speak out.
This is normal, unless an escort is requested or required.
In this case, this happens every day.
Container ships come in and out of this port, along with other ports like New York, Some of your bigger seaports like run from Charleston, South Carolina, Jacksonville, all the way to Miami, around to New Orleans where I was at.
So all the way around to California.
You have to understand there's multiple ships coming in and out of this particular port and others.
Now this ship got in trouble, I think it was at a top speed at around 11 or 10 Knots when it was outbound.
The tugs were released when it made its turn and lined up for the bridge, which is normal.
What alarmed me was that there's an unanswered question.
Now, these pilots are highly professional, Ms.
Lorraine.
They go through rigorous training.
They Training, school, you know, working on tugboats, the docking pilots, they're very well versed in what they do.
You're talking about maneuvering ships like this one, for example, was over a hundred thousand tons.
That's a lot of displacement, okay?
You have to imagine these things don't stop like Hondas, okay?
It takes a while to stop these ships.
So my biggest question, if any, is the audio recording, what happened to that, and why the anchor wasn't deployed.
From what I'm seeing, I wasn't there.
I don't know what the pilots had going on, but obviously the pilot did do something right as far as making the call, made a call, and they were able to stop the traffic before the bridge came down.
That I did notice.
But the anchor, a lot of folks are asking that right now in the maritime realm or world, if you will.
Was the anchor deployed in time after the ship lost power three times?
We don't know.
But I could tell you as far as the towing industry, these are some of the most utmost professional folks.
It's a very dangerous job maneuvering these ships, piloting these ships.
You know, Colonel Maness, who I'm going to go on, as I mentioned on his show, On Thursday, he asked me, why was the ship traveling so fast?
Actually, was it even up to speed yet?
These ships have to get to a certain speed for steerage.
That was the big problem.
This ship lost power, then probably steering.
That's what you're seeing in that video that was going viral with the black stacking.
This isn't a diesel ship.
They run a fuel called bunker fuel.
It's like a consortium of different Fueling products, if you will, and it burns richer, it's darker.
You can obviously see in that video that the pilot realized he had a A very serious problem, and he was trying to get control of that ship in a short amount of time.
I mean, the spot is still mind-boggling to me where this ship ended up.
That's like a one in billion chance.
I mean, I've never seen that in my lifetime.
So, I mean, I hope that helps, but I can't tell you as far as, you know, I wanted to You know, come on your show.
It's an honor to be here and others to let folks know that, you know, I'm trying like another gentleman on YouTube talks about the same thing, all about shipping.
I hope I got that gentleman's channel right.
I just came aware of him about a month ago and I've actually got some links I could share with you.
He does some very informative videos of the vessel leaving the dock When it came off a dock and it started to get underway the whole entire time, you'll notice three miles below the bridge is when that ship kind of lost steerage.
They lost control of the ship.
The timing of the anchor release to me is going to be a big deal in the investigation, i.e.
with the steering problem.
I've just been very vocal.
Tugs don't usually stay with ships unless they're asked or it's approved or requested.
That happens every day.
Most of these ships are on their own power.
I know folks don't want to hear that, but that's just the truth of it.
Now, I heard a, you know, you hear all kinds of things when things like this happen, but the alarming part, though, is, for me, is the anchor deployment, that it makes sense, and the video not being corrupted, if you will.
Just like Jeffrey Epstein's video of when he supposedly killed himself, right, in the jail cell, suddenly those cameras stopped working.
Right, right.
The prison guards fell asleep.
I mean, it always seems to have technology breakdowns, and the witnesses are gone, so we never get the full story or what really happened.
And this happens again and again and again, like clockwork, when we see events like this.
Yes, ma'am.
Do you think that it could be, since you said like when he sort of lost control, to me that seems like a cyber attack or, you know, something controlling it, getting control of the vessel from outside in potentially or inside out, you know, via technology.
We know that There's technology that can control cars on the road and make them crash or get into predicaments and lose control.
So do you think that it's a possibility that this could have happened to this vessel?
I've heard that.
Actually, I've actually read that article that you had sent me.
I can tell you from my experience, most of these ships are manually steered by steersmen, like an AB or an ordinary seaman.
There is electronic over hydraulic steering with most of these ships.
Now, they do have autopilot, which is run by electronics, but these ships are not piloted for regulation reasons, CFR, local and federal.
So, I mean, I don't see it because of what I know, being involved, you know, leaving the dock, docking these ships, leaving the dock with them, working with pilots.
That's the whole reason, Ms.
Lorraine, you have pilots.
They give helm commands for steerage.
I'm not so sure, but you're right.
Cars, planes, a bunch of anomalies.
They had the ships overseas, the military ships.
There's questions behind that with the collisions.
Hopefully that will come out if that's the case, but I highly doubt it, in my opinion, because I've seen too many of these ships are manually steered.
Are there any other anomalies or any other things that you thought were odd about this event that leads you to believe that maybe it wasn't just, you know, an accident or a fluke, but potentially there was something bigger or manufactured here?
Well, I mean, I think the biggest thing I felt like that was odd was the The video and also the timing.
I was hoping that I would get more clarity on the anchor drop.
Normally, if you lose power with a ship, Normally, you know, all ports do things differently.
All of them are different.
Where I worked, we did things a certain way in New Orleans because of the one directional current.
We couldn't do things that other ports did.
Actually, there was a pilot in 1996, that same thing.
And actually, Ms.
Lorraine, this happens more often than folks think.
Power is lost, steering, propulsion.
You just don't hear about it because it's not a calamity like such as this.
So there's going to be a lot of questions where this, I guess, between the video, the anchor deployment, And where this ship actually made contact is going to be A big question that a lot of folks are going to probably want an answer for.
Right.
I mean, President Biden, President, but Biden said the Francis Cotts Key Bridge is vital to our economy and it's vital to our quality of life.
That's why I've directed my team to work with Maryland and move heaven and earth to reopen the port and rebuild the bridge as soon as humanly possible.
So, you know, what was Why was this bridge?
That's why it's so interesting.
That was such an important bridge.
Why was this so important for our economy?
And what can you see maybe potential repercussions of it collapsing?
Strategically, the traffic that it will limit.
Now, as of today, they have reopened a temporary channel.
They've cleared some debris, but this is going to take months to clear.
Getting it off the ship, removing it.
You're talking about just monumental weight.
They've got every salvage crane that they could think of that they're trying to bring to the area to assist with this.
But I could see it is a strategical area for the military.
You know, 50 to 60% of our exports as far as coal comes out of this area.
Not to mention your car carriers, your military sea lift command ships and others.
A lot of ships go in for shipyard in Baltimore.
That's where a vessel I was stationed on with the Coast Guard.
That's where we went to shipyard.
Okay.
During our rough trade and maintenance and repair period.
So it is a major port.
And other ports will pick up the slack.
I'm pretty sure I talked about that over the weekend.
Covered, you know, the lifetime.
It's called AIS, where you can track ships, Automated Identification System.
You know, explain to folks how long it would take To remove the ship.
And now the data that I'm seeing on AIS as of today, that ship will not be removed till latter end of the month, April 20th, 22nd, give or take.
And it's severely damaged.
But the main thing is, is getting that channel open again.
I would concur with that, but I know the gentleman that's in charge, I know of him with the U.S. Corps of Engineers, and he's very good at what he does, and he'll be working around the clock to get this port open, because it is.
It's going to be very much of a slowdown economically on the East Coast having this port shut down like this.
It's going to be significant.
Wow.
That's crazy.
Well, thank you so much for your insight and clarity in certain areas.
Any last words?
And then tell everybody where they can find you on Rumble and YouTube.
Well, you know, I just want to say, Ms.
Lorraine, I've seen you on X. You know, it's an honor to come on your show and I appreciate the opportunity.
You know, having the opportunity to talk about something that I know about, that's the maritime industry.
My prayers go out to the families affected.
And, you know, there's going to be a lot of things affected by this.
But folks need to realize that, you know, there's a lot of capable, knowledgeable people in the maritime industry.
And this is just another tragedy to add on the list, right?
As far as me, I'm on X at TNFM World News, over on Rumble, TNFM Traffic Report.
And I've got my channel on YouTube.
Don't know how much longer to be there.
I'm sure I'm next to get chopped like everybody else.
But it's truth, not fiction matters.
And I just do what I can to get information out like others to help save our country.
Because I can tell you, it's never been more dire than what it is now.
Yeah, absolutely.
Amen.

Welcome back to Shots Fired.
Well, we're talking a lot this week about the Baltimore Bridge that tragically collapsed last week, a very important bridge at that, when a cargo ship crashed into it in the wee hours of the night.
We want to talk about it further because everyone's got theories that are floating around, but let's talk about it from somebody, again, who really knows the maritime industry well, really knows this area well.
Matt Bracken.
Matt Bracken is a Navy SEAL, an author, a boat builder, and so much more.
And he's very knowledgeable about this.
And he's been posting some tweets on X that have been going viral.
His brother actually worked, I believe, in this area.
And we want to talk a little bit more about sort of what his insight is on this whole Situation and a lot more.
So Matt Bracken, thanks so much for joining Shots Fired.
How are you?
It's good to be on.
Yeah, in the 1970s, I worked construction during the summers.
Okay.
I worked actually in the Baltimore Inner Harbor, not on the Key Bridge, but on some of the other bridges that were going up at the same time.
If you've ever driven into Baltimore near the stadiums, you've gone over the bridge that I helped build.
I was down in the cofferdams building the footers that the towers would extend up through the water eventually to support these bridges.
At the same time, those same summers, my brother was working on the Francis Scott Key Bridge itself.
Okay.
Doing as a laborer where you're bringing the cement, pouring the cement.
Yeah, okay.
So we have a really vested interest in this.
We were both born and raised in Baltimore.
Okay.
And this has been the, you know, the outer link.
It would be kind of like in the Washington, D.C. Beltway, the Woodrow Wilson Bridge.
Okay.
You know, completing like, it's almost the same like five o'clock position on the Baltimore Beltway that the Woodrow Wilson Bridge over the Potomac.
Right.
So if you can imagine the D.C. Beltway suddenly having no Woodrow Wilson Bridge.
Right.
The ripple effects.
In fact, in my first novel, I have a character sabotage one part of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge just to send a message to the federal government, not collapsing the entire span, just one 100-foot section.
And when I was researching what would have happened if something like that had actually occurred, in the 80s or 90s, a suicide person sat on the side of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge and they blocked off the traffic.
And it caused a ripple effect around all of D.C. that led to complete gridlock.
Wow.
So just taking out that segment of the Washington D.C. Beltway.
So now the Baltimore Beltway, I mean, the Baltimore Beltway is part of the I-95 corridor.
It's not like there's just an independent I-95 that goes by Baltimore.
I-95 goes right through Baltimore via a diffused series of, you know, if you're coming from Richmond heading to New York, You can't avoid Baltimore.
You have a few bad choices of how am I going to get through Baltimore?
West around the beltway, east around the beltway, through the tunnel, all of them have problems.
Now the actual outer beltway is demolished.
So the effects of this are going to be really amazing.
And that's assuming nothing else happens to the other side of the, you know, now the rest is super overstrained.
That bridge was specifically built to carry oversized trucks and hazmat cargo, like oil tankers, chemical tankers that they couldn't put through the downtown Baltimore tunnel.
So having this out of action, all of those trucks now have to fight their way through downtown Baltimore.
If you've ever done that, that's no fun.
Or go around the west side of the Baltimore Beltway.
That's at a standstill every day even before this happened.
So the economics of this are just a disaster.
Now, as far as whether it's an accident or not, I pretty much rule out that it's hacked from outside, that somebody send a beam to it and could take over the ship.
These ships, at this stage, they are not being steered by GPS. They are not on an autopilot.
There is an actual human pilot who is directing the turns of the wheel, literally degree by degree.
Yeah, that's what the previous guest also verified.
Yeah.
Okay.
I don't know what the term, I haven't bowled in years, but sometimes if you bowl just right, you almost have a strike, but you leave the two back corner pins, right?
And then it's like, to get a spare, you would have to do the most amazing crisscross shot, like where one pin hits straight across.
It's not about bowling.
The two bridge abutments that support that entire continuous truss are like those two pins.
Mm-hmm.
If you have good vision and you're a good bowler, you could throw a thousand balls down the middle of the lane and never hit those two pins.
That's the job of the harbor pilot, of the ship pilot.
Is get the ship right down the middle of the bowling alley.
Do not hit those two pins.
If you hit those two pins, the whole bowling alley bursts into flame, right?
I mean, collapses.
But you've got your eyes open and everything should be good.
So as long as you're steering competently and the ship doesn't lose power, if the ship loses power at that point, it's like the bowler is now blindfolded and somebody's trying to trip him, just as he's letting go of the ball.
If you fired a bazooka into a church full of people, you're hitting somebody, right?
To get that ship to not hit anything, either to go around in the channel or to hit the worst case, which is what happened, you'd have to be extremely lucky to just roll that ball down the middle blindfolded and not hit a gutter or, you know, in the church analogy, you're hitting somebody.
So if the ship is just leaving port and the power goes out, It's almost guaranteed to be some kind of a catastrophe.
Either the ship goes aground and maybe blocks the channel, like the Evergreen did, or another ship in the Chesapeake Bay, actually, but further down the bay, this was a couple years ago.
Or in Savannah, a car carrier went aground.
They had to cut it into pieces.
Can you still hear me?
Okay, so the worst case is to hit one of those two side bridge abutments.
When this bridge was built in 1977, a lot of this has to do with Maryland incompetence, okay?
In 1977, this bridge was opened.
In 1980, the Tampa Sunshine Skyway was hit by a ship and crashed and broke down.
When they built the new Sunshine Skyway, they built huge dolphin islands that no ship can possibly get past or over.
So they opened the Baltimore Bridge in 1977 with very small protective islands, much too small.
1980, they should have learned from the example in Tampa and said, this is not good enough.
A ship can take out this bridge.
Everybody knew a ship could take out the bridge.
But they never upgraded it.
They never did anything with it.
So my point is, this goes back to like a pattern of real kind of political incompetence in Maryland.
It wouldn't surprise me, and we haven't seen the pilot, we haven't seen the crew, we don't know who the captain of the ship is, very mysterious.
If the pilot or the captain of the ship was named, you know, Billy Bob Redneck, we would know it.
The Maryland Pilot Association used to be a very closed shop.
All the pilots were, whether Savannah, Charleston, you almost had to be a legacy to get one of these super cush jobs.
You're going to make, you know, six figures, pretty easy work.
You're home every night.
It's not like, you know, you're on the ship going across oceans.
And I'm wondering why it's such a secret, such secrecy about the crew.
If the pilot was a DEI hire, which in Maryland the odds are very good that he was a DEI hire, he might have been coached through every test, you know, give him the answers.
Just like the pilots that fly the airplanes, you wouldn't want a DEI pilot flying your United.
So if the Harbor pilot was not a real smart guy, if he was hired for other considerations, He may have choked.
He may have...
When you need a...
To compare another situation, when you need a pilot, Sullenberg, to land in the Hudson River, to glide into the Hudson River, you need like the ace Crackerjack airline pilot of all time.
For the miracle of the Hudson, they did.
They had the great pilot.
But if you have a really terrible pilot, You're never going to get that miracle in the Hudson, right?
He'll make a wrong decision.
He'll crash into some buildings.
But if you have, in the Maryland Harbor pilot situation, if you have an extremely incompetent pilot, he could have choked and zigged when he should have zagged.
So it's not a foregone conclusion that losing power would mean losing control.
They lost power and they totally lost control.
Maybe they did the very best that they could, I don't know.
But it seems like if it wasn't active sabotage, like trying to steer into that piling, it may be something for the liberals that's just as bad, an incompetent DEI hire, You know, that could have, if he had had the skill of a Sullenberger, gotten that ship either aground where it didn't hit the bridge or through the fan opening, but he T-boned.
He just absolutely bowled a perfect strike.
He just absolutely T-boned the most vulnerable part of that bridge.
Yeah, that's what the previous guest said, too, that it's just, these are usually highly, highly, highly trained and skilled pilots, and this sort of thing just wouldn't normally happen, you know, accidentally or with somebody that's typically in this route.
You know, they're very, very highly trained, so it's definitely odd.
Well, there's always a situation with this kind of, you know, Democrat-run cities of penny-wise, pound-foolish, Going all the way back to the 50s, I don't know if you've ever been across the Maryland Bay Bridge.
I have not.
If you're going from Baltimore, Annapolis, Washington, towards the eastern shore of Maryland, there are two giant, huge suspension bridges.
When they built the first one, every expert said, you guys are crazy to just build this little bridge.
The growth is projected that, you know, in 10 years you'll need another bridge.
It's like, we can't afford it.
So they ended up having to build a second suspension bridge next to the first one.
No foresight.
When the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in Tampa was demolished, they should have said, you know what would be really relatively cheap?
It doesn't require any new massive engineering.
Let's build four protective dolphin islands out from those posts that no ship can ever hit the pillars.
Like when they built the new Sunshine Skyway Bridge, or there's a bridge almost exactly like the Baltimore Bridge called a Continuous Trust Bridge.
It's the Betsy Ross Bridge over the Delaware River between Philadelphia and New Jersey.
It's one of those bridges.
Philadelphia and New Jersey are practically knitted together by bridges.
Much the way that New York City is.
And that bridge on the Delaware has four of these massive dolphin islands to protect the bridge from being struck by a ship.
In Maryland, they just have practically little pimples.
Technically, there's a dolphin island.
It wasn't enough to stop a 100,000-ton ship, 1,000 feet long.
I mean, it just wasn't even enough.
But they could have prevented this by protecting the bridge.
And in comparison to the cost that they're going to incur now, the lost economic cost and the reconstruction cost, building four of those dolphin islands would have been like nothing, not even a fraction of 1%.
But they were too cheap to do it.
And it was very foreseeable.
Everybody knew this was a risk.
That's interesting.
OK, so I tend to think I usually don't believe the official story of the news anymore.
And I tend to think, you know, when we see food processing plants just suddenly, you know, catch on fire or we see trains getting derailed and this kind of thing, it's just often seems like there's just a lot of oddities.
I have no doubt there is a good amount of active sabotage going on.
OK, so you do believe it was some sort of outside sabotage.
But probably not this.
Not all of these are going to be active sabotage.
But one of the, it could be, they could have hired, you know, or suborned one of the crew to sabotage the electrical system.
Right.
Very doubtful.
Because we're talking about generators the size of houses, three of them.
And they're made in a fail-safe method called make before break.
You can't turn off all three at once unless you're at the dock and you do all these safety procedures.
If one goes off, there's two more.
It's made almost like a spaceship where all these redundant systems automatically kick in.
You can't turn them both off.
It's impossible.
If the boat's moving, you can't turn them off.
So it would be extremely difficult even if you had a crew member that you had bribed or threatened to sabotage the ship.
But just as bad as sabotage is the increasing risk of systemic failure when you have systems that are built up by very intelligent engineers, Over many decades, when it was pure meritocracy, if you look back and if you see the pictures of the Houston control room during all the Apollo, Gemini years, you see all these white nerds with crew cuts and pocket protectors, right?
That are doing calculus on slide rules at the speed of their fingers.
If you replace them with people that had to be given the answers to the test, You're going to have a lot more disasters.
So if the plant, it's like, what's, I forget which, what's the cartoon, not family guy, where the father works at the nuclear plant and he's an idiot.
It's like- Simpsons.
Simpsons, Homer Simpson, right.
That's like a joke meme that you have an incompetent guy working at the nuclear power plant But in reality, if DEI becomes your highest priority, we are all familiar with the example of an airline pilot.
How would you like it if your airline pilot was hired as an incompetent because we had to get the right racial niche quotas over any other consideration, no matter what?
Well, who do you think is getting promoted to run the chemical plant?
The corporate culture is also very woke now.
So, we see with Boeing, The problem with Boeing is exactly correlated to this thing happening in Baltimore.
Why suddenly can't they drill the holes straight on a wing of a Boeing airplane?
Because they're hiring people that don't really give a damn, number one, and who never really understood fractions.
It's very complicated.
Is that 7 16ths in millimeters or inches?
This has to be so innately understood by the people that work at Boeing.
Even the assembly line people or the fabricators, they have to be perfect.
They have to really care.
They have to really understand.
When they don't care and they don't really understand, and they're hired anyway, the culture changes to, that's good enough.
Nobody will notice.
Can't see it from my house.
Bondo those holes, drill another set of holes.
It shouldn't be a problem having a couple extra holes on the wing.
Probably won't matter.
That's a new culture.
At Boeing, they would have thrown away the whole wing and fired people.
Now it's like, eh, that's why Boeing has a problem, because the Houston control room picture is definitely out.
You know, the crew cut guys with the pocket protectors, they're gone.
They retired long ago.
And they're being replaced by people that don't have their understanding.
But the system is still extremely complex and risky.
You know, it needs, like, genius-level engineers in the control room.
And when you replace those people with, you know, somebody from the public school that, I mean...
I have in my own family this situation.
Kids are passed through grade school that can't read.
They get out of high school, so you go to work for Boeing and it's like, do you have a high school diploma?
Sure do, right here.
But you can't read and you can't do fractions.
But you're going to be in charge of drilling holes based on a blueprint?
So that is the same situation you have, say, at the Maryland Pilot Association.
I would like to know who the harbor pilot was, the ship pilot.
Yeah, it's odd that they're keeping it secret, for sure.
In a way, you can understand, but I guarantee you, if his name was Billy Bob Redneck, we would know it.
We would know it.
And speaking of, do you believe that the whistleblower for Boeing actually just shot himself in the head in the parking lot on his third day of the depositions?
It's very suspicious.
Of course, yeah.
It's very suspicious.
And I saw, I'm not sure what network, but his attorney was interviewed and they showed a clip from the whistleblower and He could have been, you know, I'm almost channeling him that he said that, you know, for 30 years, the corporate culture at Boeing was, if you saw a problem, you raised your hand, everybody stopped.
Safety stand down.
If they had to throw the wing away, they threw the wing away.
They would fire people.
They would change procedures.
Now it's don't notice the mistake.
Be a team player.
Go along to get along.
Just, you know, scoop some Bondo into the extra holes.
They'll never know under the paint.
That kind of a culture leads to what they're seeing now with Boeing airplanes.
Absolutely.
And possibly, you know, the ship.
I mean, I'm not saying that the pilot intentionally drove the ship into the bridge abutment, but that's when you need a Captain Sullenberger.
Is that his name?
The Miracle in the Hudson?
When something like that happens, it's almost an, you know, the birds hit this aircraft, right?
You've got no engines.
You've got to have the most amazing pilot to get through that situation.
No engines in an airplane in New York City.
And they had a great pilot.
Well, when this ship lost its power, they needed a great pilot.
Did they have a great pilot or did they have a guy that choked?
We'll continue to follow this story, obviously, and see what comes out of the investigation and everything else.
Maybe they will soon unmask the pilot and crew.
Or maybe it'll be leaked.
It could be leaked.
It could be leaked.
Hopefully it will be leaked.
I think we deserve to know.
And what's the latest on the Gaza strike that just happened today, too?
I want to get your take on it.
I was just following it like an hour before this.
I turned on the TV and I saw Kirby on all three channels.
Well, on MSNBC, CNN, and Fox.
I always check to see, like, you know, is one network covering a story that tells you one thing, right?
So they were all covering it.
And apparently, one of these food...
An NGO that was started by some famous chef.
It's something with kitchens in it, like kitchens for peace, I forget.
But they're in a clearly marked convoy with non-armored vehicles, just like regular SUVs, clearly marked.
And this convoy was hit and six of these aid workers were killed.
And, you know, the whole bringing up, comparing this to what they're now in the early stages of building this Gaza Pier.
I was in Beirut in 1983, and we went in there with the great intentions.
You know, again, in 82, Israel had invaded to the outer suburbs of Beirut.
You know, Israel had come up through Lebanon, poised on the outskirts of Beirut.
Christian militias that were allied with the IDF committed some pretty major massacres, like an order of magnitude bigger than like My Lai Massacre, where they went into these, you know, no air quotes, just refugee camps or Palestinian cinder block towns of long standing and massacred a lot of women and children.
That was under Ronald Reagan.
The Marines went in.
First, with these big landing craft, they took the PLO and shipped them to Tunisia on US Navy vessels.
So the Palestinian Liberation Organization basically got uprooted from Beirut, mostly relocated to Tunisia.
But in the meantime, the IDF and the Hezbollah are ready to go to war in Beirut.
We sent in what was called the Multinational Peacekeeping Force.
We went in as referees.
We're not here to fight anybody.
We're wearing referee uniforms.
We're here to keep the peace.
And it reminds me now of what they're doing with this, trying to build a Gaza pier, where they're saying, we won't have any boots on the ground, which means no force protection.
You know, in Beirut, when they did a beach, they finally built a beachhead at a floating pier.
Of course, you had the Marine Battalion on the ground around that beachhead to protect it.
We're saying we're going to build a floating pier and have no protection.
We're just going to, it's going to be like, my comparison is, We're going to send a convoy of Quakers through Comanche territory, and they're just going to hold up their cross in Bibles and tell the Comanches, we're here only for peaceful purposes, and that's our protection.
Our protection is that we're just going to be here for peaceful purposes.
Well, Anytime you go in as a referee, you're going to always wind up taking sides because somebody fires at you, you fire back.
The next thing you know, you're in the middle of the war.
A year after I was there, The battleship New Jersey with 18-inch guns was brought out of retirement.
It was parked off of Beirut, shelling the Bekaa Valley, 20 miles inland.
So you go from, we're just here as peacekeepers, we're just referees, we love everybody, just please don't fight.
A year later, the New Jersey is like shelling the Bekaa Valley, right?
So we're now being sold the same bill of goods.
This is where being old enough to remember these things.
I was born in 57.
I was a 20-something-year-old lieutenant in Beirut in 82, 83.
So we're going to build this Immaculate Pier, the Immaculate Conception Pier.
It's going to just get to one inch from the shore, but not touch the shore.
And there will be no American boots on the ground.
And Quakers with Bibles, so to speak, are going to distribute the food with no force protection because we're just going to trust in our good karma.
It's just going to be all, you know, good vibes are going to protect our people there.
You can predict somebody is going to shell or rocket or mine Blow up a truck bomb, a semi-submersible into something, and then we're going to be in the middle of it.
And I think this is what Israel wants.
Israel wants America directly involved.
So Kirby was being asked today about the irony of, you know, we're supplying Israel with the military hardware, meaning the bombs that we're dropping, right, that IDF is dropping.
We give Israel the bombs to drop on Gaza.
And then we're going to build this pier to bring in food.
If Israel wanted food to get to Gaza, they could bring it in through Egypt.
They've got like a 20-mile convoy backed up into Egypt so that, you know, they're saying, well, we have to inspect everything.
I get it.
But they're basically trying to starve out Gaza.
That's what's going on.
And their plan, as far as I'm concerned, is...
There's going to be no Palestinians in Gaza one way or the other when this is open, when this is over.
If that pier does exist, it's going to be used to take the Palestinians out.
And they're going to come to America on American ships, or they're going to go to Europe on American ships.
I mean, this is like a playbook.
I feel like, often, I feel like, you know, I woke up in a nightmare where it's Groundhog Day.
And I already know the next six months of what's going to happen there because I was in Beirut 1.0.
And it's like everybody was born after that, and there's no memory of that.
Oh, we're coming in as peacekeepers, no boots on the ground, good vibes, karma, no problem.
It's going to be a disaster, and I think Israel wants it to be a disaster.
If Israel wanted aid to come in, they could just open the gate in Egypt.
So why would they let the aid come over up here?
They can just shut that just as easily as the gate in Egypt.
So it's going to be a disaster.
Israel wants us involved in the war.
They want all the Palestinians out.
And I predict they'll all be in America and in Europe in a year.
Wow.
I could see the writing on the wall, too.
They want a bloodbath.
They want a war.
They want this very messy.
I think that obviously October 7th happened.
But I think that Netanyahu and his cohort are operating at a level of real politic, which is if they even knew October 7th was going to happen, they would let it happen.
Because they've been looking for a rationale for the total annihilation of Gaza and turning it into an Israeli beach.
And to do that, they've got to get all the Palestinians out.
So starving them into submission to where it's like, look, there's your ship to America.
Walk out the pier, get on the ship, and in two weeks you'll be in Norfolk.
Totally agree with you.
Couldn't agree with you more.
That's very insightful.
And again, we'll be following the story, but I'm pretty sure you know how the story is going to be ending.
