And then they get in and they talk to this jerk-off professor or teacher somewhere up in some liberal Oregon.

I want to talk about minor attracted persons because they are probably the most vilified population of folks in our culture.
And most folks are making incorrect assumptions about them without actually knowing much about them.
Hi, folks.
My name is Miranda.
I use she, her pronouns, and I'm a licensed professional counselor and sex therapist in Erie, Pennsylvania.
And I'm using the term minor-attracted persons, sometimes abbreviated to MAPS, instead of the more commonly used term pedophile.
And I'm doing this because the term pedophile has moved from being a diagnostic label to being a judgmental, hurtful insult that we hurl at people in order to harm them or slander them.
The person has An enduring sexual or romantic attraction to minors.
They've not chosen this attraction just as the rest of us have not chosen whatever our attraction is.
You don't get to choose to be heterosexual or to be gay or whatever you are.
A person is attracted to minors does not mean that they have acted on that attraction or will ever act on that attraction.
Most individuals who sexually victimize children are not minor attracted persons.
Most of these folks hide their attraction for fear of losing their entire life if they came out as a minor attracted person.
This doesn't cover making a report to the authorities just because a person reports that they have an attraction to minors.
It only addresses situations when the client reports a specific intent to do harm to an identifiable person and we believe that they are going to act on that intent.
An Old Dominion University professor is taking a lot of heat.
Alan Walker said the word pedophile shouldn't be used to refer to people who are attracted to children because it comes with a stigma.
Walker said the term minor-attracted people, or MAPs, should be used to describe people who are attracted to children.
It's less stigmatizing than other terms like pedophile.
A lot of people, when they hear the term pedophile, they automatically assume that it means a sex offender.
And that isn't true, and it leads to a lot of misconceptions about attractions toward minors.

I'm a non-offending pedophile.
I have never ever sexually abused a child.
I never will.
I am part of one of the most hated groups of society.
No question about it.
We are the scapegoats du jour.
I'm campaigning for better treatment of people like me.
You know, we're non-offending pedophiles.
Not all pedophiles are child molesters, and not all child molesters are pedophiles.
Pedophile is, strictly speaking, is just somebody who has the sexual attraction to children.
What age groups are you attracted to?
I would say it probably starts about four, three, four years old, and then goes up into early twenties, late teens, early twenties.
I am neither proud nor ashamed of being a pedophile.
At this point, I just accept it.
According to current research, pedophilia is an unchangeable sexual orientation, just like, for example, heterosexuality.
No one chooses to be a pedophile.
No one can cease being one.
It is crucial to understand the difference between pedophilia and child sexual abuse which is illegal and must always be.
Pedophilia is only the sexual preference for pre-adolescent children.
It is in our responsibility to reflect and to overcome our negative feelings about pedophiles and to treat them with the same respect we treat other people with.

Because once they say, these are not pedophiles, these are minor, attractive people, they can say they're also vilified, as we heard there.
And then they'll say they are an oppressed minority group, and therefore they deserve to be a protected characteristic.
And then, all of a sudden, we have pedophiles or pedophiles being protected under the law, and that's what they're after here.
And it's very, very, there's nothing more dangerous.
Well, that's right.
And it's a tell.
I mean, if you are with someone on the playground or at your kid's school who uses the phrase minor attracted persons, I think it's fair to call the police right away because you know what that person's intent is.
Like, what else are they saying?
They're excusing pedophilia.
Absolutely.
There's three sides to this.
Of course, firstly, they take over the language.
And that is so that they can break down the boundaries.
And then thirdly, that's so they can break down family and society.
And that's what this has always been about.
You know, some of us have been warning about this for years and have been called conspiracy theorists.
But there's a reason There's the mantra, love is love.
Because if love means love for anyone, there's no boundaries involved there.
And then when we're talking in an age where someone can define their race, someone can define their gender, and someone can define their sex or any other immutable characteristics, why would they not be able to define their age?
If you can say, I identify as a woman, What's to stop you saying, I identify as a 12-year-old girl?
And if love is love, and you are identifying as a 12-year-old girl, what is to stop you from having a relationship with another 12-year-old girl, biological or non-biological?
This is the problem we find ourselves in.
This is why they're redefining the language.
This is why they're breaking down the boundaries.
It's wicked, it's evil, and we must do everything we can to stop it and protect our children.

How do they prey right under their parents' noses?
Those are the heartbreaking questions from the families of so many victims.
Tonight, we're hearing the predators' unsettling stories about how they would protect children from themselves.

Too often, the people trusted to protect children choose to prey on them instead.
Did you know in your head at the time that what you were doing was wrong?

This is a North Texas man who sexually assaulted a child.

He went to prison.
Now, years later, he's agreed to tell us the secrets of predators, as long as we hide his identity.
Are you the type of person that parents might look at and say, he looks like a sex offender?
No.
You're the opposite?
Absolutely.
In fact, I would be the kind of person that they would look at and say, there's not a chance in the world he would ever have done what he did.
Not a chance in the world.
Perpetrators often wear a mask of deception.
Terry Miller is one of the nation's leading experts on the topic.
It's very common for these perpetrators to be teachers of the year and be award-winning coaches.
The victim is the only one who knows the monster.
I wanted to be the next great mentor to young people.

Yet this popular North Texas teacher had a secret.

He sent explicit nude photos of himself to a student.
He was later convicted of indecency with a child.

It's what we refer to in counseling as grooming your victim.
Grooming is the common practice of breaking down a child's moral fibers.
They first rape the child's mind in order to rape their body.
The predators say the first step is isolating their victim.
Creating opportunities to be alone with her, apart and separate from the group, on the bus, sitting together all the time.
Then, they work to earn their victims' trust.
You become the child's confidant.
You become the child's confidant.
You become their all in all.
You become the one that they look to as the one that is going to provide their answers and give them their guidance So once you earn the child's trust, it becomes easier to push the boundaries?
That's correct.
Most often, they use texts and Facebook to do it.
So you allow sexual subject matter to be talked about, perhaps.
You're open to sexual questions, and of course then you start to push the boundary a little farther.
Is that something you're interested in?
What do you like in those situations?
What did you do or say to make sure that her parents didn't know or suspect anything?
Wad.
We would sneak around and find ways to meet at the mall or meet at the movie theater.
When we became sexual, that's when everything went into protection mode.
We've got to hide this, we've got to keep this secret.
The conversation we had was difficult to hear, but listen as he gives advice to parents everywhere.
If a parent sees their child spending an inordinate amount of time with a significant adult that is outside the family, that is something to really spend some time looking at.
If your child themselves starts talking about another significant adult in ways that you're going, I didn't realize you guys were that close.
Any attempt To gather favor, connection is a part of that grooming process.
They say the number one deterrent is an adult who monitors the child's electronic communication.
Because this whole situation thrives in secrecy.
It will never survive in the midst of the light.

I found a video from a couple years back of a dad in Texas And now he dealt with one.
I believe his daughter was four or five years old at the time.
Let's run that.
Daddy catches a child sex predator sexually molesting his screaming five-year-old little girl and he punches the guy to death.
The man who hears his daughter screams, races to save her.
The case goes to a grand jury for homicide charges.
Murder!
The only thing this guy deserves is an award, a medal for father of the year.
Right now to Ellie Jossett, I want to go over the facts from the very beginning.
Martin and I were talking about what may underlie a grand jury consideration.
This father...
Actually has a case that goes to the grand jury for felony charges when he catches the molester raping his five-year-old daughter.
Ellie, what are the rest of the facts?
Right, Nancy.
Well, what was going on here is that this is on the grandfather, the little girl, the five-year-old girl's grandfather's ranch.
They keep horses there.
They keep chickens there.
Allegedly, the little girl and her brother go off to feed the chickens.
The rest of the adults are in another part of the ranch.
Then a witness says, and there's conflicting reports about exactly what happened at this point, but a witness says that somehow this alleged attacker Flores separated the girl from her brother, forcibly carried her into some wooded area, some brush there on the farm.
That's when this witness ran, got the father, Ellie, can you just please call it like it is?
It's clearly the little boy.
All right?
Because they send the little boy and the little girl off to feed the chickens.
They go off.
They're all playing.
This is a fun thing for them.
The next thing you know, mystery witness runs to get his daddy because Mora Flores has taken, picked up the five, picked her up and carried her off to the woods.
And he hears his sister screaming.
All right, go ahead.
Right.
So there's this frantic search, father looking in the woods for the girl.
He hears her scream, runs to the source of the scream, and that's when he said he saw Flores, pants down, in the act, caught in the act of assaulting, raping his daughter, Nancy.
And that's when he says he pulled Flores off his daughter, struck him several times, and from that point, we know Flores died almost right away.
A grandfather who says he jumped the fence, also running to save the little girl, says that when he got there at the scene, Flores may have been dead already.
That's how quickly this all happened.
We are live in Shiner, Texas, where a man saves his daughter in the midst of a sex attack.
His five-year-old daughter punches a guy in the face and head.
The guy drops dead.
You can hear from the 911 call-out to you, Martin Savage, CNN correspondent joining us, that he's desperately trying to save the pervert.
And I know how you are, Martin.
You want me to say the alleged child molester.
You don't want me to call the guy a pervert.
You know what?
I believe the grandmother and the grandfather and the father that there he was with his pants pulled down.
Not only that, the whole family.
Isn't this true?
Martin Savage tried to do CPR on the pervert.
It did indeed.
I mean, that's one of the, excuse me, one of the most shocking aspects here, on top of what we've already heard, is that they've seen the crime being perpetrated on a young girl, and then what do they do?
They turn around and try to be the lifesavers on the same man who they've watched carry out this horrific act.
And that is a remarkable statement about the family.
And then, of course, you've already heard the 911 call and the great sense of extreme remorse the father is under as he desperately tries to seek help for this same person.
But Martin Savage, why does the father have to be on pins and needles while this is taken to a grand jury?
Thankfully, the grand jury did not charge him, Martin, but why did it have to go to a grand jury?
You know, that question was asked, I asked it of the DA. She said this was part of the process that was necessary to go through, but it doesn't make sense.
Killed him!
Killed him with one punch!
One punch!
Caught this Spanish guy in the act with his daughter.
And again, you saw the video, the ironic thing is, they attempted CPR on this guy?
Dude, you're in Texas, okay?
Cut the head off and mount it on your wall with the deer and the wild hogs and everything else you hunt down there.
Put it on a plaque!

So there's another incident that occurred that I found.
This was in Florida where a guy walked in on a pedophile going after his five-year-old son.
Let's run this.
We showed you the amazing picture last week, a suspected child molester after a run-in with the dad.
Tonight, Kelly Joyce talks with that Florida father about what he says he saw and how he reacted.
This was the scene last Friday.
18-year-old Raymond Frolander standing before a judge charged with sexual battery.
His face swollen and bruised.
Daytona Beach Police day Frolander was beaten by the father of the victim.
I attacked him viciously and I didn't stop.
The only time I paused was to go to the kitchen and retrieve a butcher knife because I was going to kill him.
This 35-year-old father, Jason, says he walked in on Frolander, a family friend attacking his son.
Jason told police he went out for a bite to eat and when he came back, he heard something in the bedroom.
I found my son Raymond in the room.
He called 911.
I just walked in and found a grown man molesting and I got him in a bloody puddle for you right now, officer.
When Daytona Beach police showed up, they found Frolander unconscious.
He was taken to the hospital, then to jail.
Police say Jason won't face any charges for the beating because he was protecting his child as a crime was being committed.
Police also say for Olander admitted to the sexual battery.
Normally, we would not show the face of a father whose son had been sexually attacked, but this father wanted to show his face and let you know he thinks his son is a hero.
Because I was going to kill him.
My son stepped in front of me and saved his life.
He just looked at me and said, sir, and shook his head and said, no.
And I just put the knife down.
I just...
It wouldn't traumatize him any more than he already was.
Jason says his family is trying to heal, but he felt he needed to talk publicly about this case to let all victims of sex crimes know they do not need to be afraid to come forward.
Everybody wants to do the, you know, not my family, not my family.
They got to wait until it hits close to home and all that.
Nine out of ten of these are an uncle, a brother, something.
Jason tells us his son is in counseling.
He says he's a very tough kid who will get through this.
He says this has not only affected his family emotionally, but financially as well.

The man accused of killing an Omaha sex offender will be charged with murder.
Today, James Fairbanks finds out if he'll be released from jail.
Senior reporter Jake Wasikowski explains why the victim's daughter says she's not mad.

It's murder in the first degree.
Through video conferencing, 43-year-old James Fairbanks is formally charged with first-degree murder and use of a weapon.
He's accused of murdering 64-year-old Matteo Condolucci at his home.
He was found dead over the weekend.
Condolucci served one and a half years of a five-year prison sentence in 2006 for sexually assaulting a child in Sarpy County and was convicted in Florida for similar crimes in the 90s.
His own daughter, Amanda Henry, says she supports Fairbanks and isn't mad at him.
I've been through so much heart and pain.
There are many times I wanted to do it myself, but I didn't want to give up my freedom, my family.
You know, somebody had to stay behind to protect them, and that's me.
Prosecutors say Fairbanks admitted to killing Condolucci because he knew he was a sex offender and wanted to stop him before he hurt any other children.
An anonymous email sent to KMTV and other media outlets had a similar story, and he's getting support online.
His attorney says $1,200 has been put on his books at the jail from people he doesn't know, and he's upbeat in jail.
We have the opportunity to have a trial on this case and some of the facts that Matt and I learned will be pretty surprising at the time of the trial.
Prosecutors say it's not a good idea to take the law into your own hands.
Vigilante justice isn't the answer.
So I'm confident that a jury will understand the law is the law and it's not up to any one person to be the judge and jury of any other individual.
Henry doesn't see her father as the victim because she says he victimized more people than any paper report will show.
There are children that are still out there right now who won't speak up and say anything against him because they're too afraid.
Even in his death, they are still afraid.
I know I am.
So Fairbanks waived his preliminary hearing, which means he will go to district court towards trial.
It could be quite a while before the process gets started in months to years until the trial actually happens.
