If you look at gunboat diplomacy and Teddy Roosevelt and back to the Monroe Doctrine, even before that, the Barbary War precedent set by Thomas Jefferson, our third president, President Trump is bringing us back to America-first policy.
As Glenn Beck said, going into Venezuela to kick the communist Chinese out and the Cubans out is the most America-first thing I've ever seen, at least in my lifetime.
That said, though, I've covered the pitfalls.
It could be worse than Vietnam.
It's dangerous.
Trump should really look out.
That's why I said it probably a better idea not to do what he's now done.
Not that from his perspective, it isn't the right thing to do, but it just carries too much risk.
But now we're already there.
But I did say a few days ago when the raid on Maduro took place, which was incredible, amazing precision.
Thank God that God's hand was on that, that what happens if communist China then uses the precedent to do a snatch and grab in Taiwan?
Or what do the Russians go and try to take out Zelensky?
Well, now Dmitry Dmediev, Putin's main deputy, the former Russian president, has said, hey, under international law now, we're covered.
It's in our sphere of influence.
Maybe we'll do a raid and grab Zelensky.
Now, I don't think the Russians could do it with the same precision as the U.S. because the U.S. has so much practice as this.
I don't think anybody denies the Delta Force is the best in the world.
But now, what are we going to do if Russia does this or if China does this now because Trump has set the precedent?
These are the types of pitfalls that come into play here.
But bigger than that is the fact that Venezuela is bigger than Texas.
It's got all these militias at Portus Colombia and Brazil that are run by communists as well, who do have real rebel forces.
So sure, the U.S. could go in, take control of the cities like Caracas.
But when we try to send out the oilfield workers and others to actually build the country back, that's when the terrorists can and will hit.
So this has to be war game through.
We have to have a larger discussion about this.
And I just hope that somehow we can get the Venezuelans to go along with free and fair elections, have a compromise, and set it up where Venezuela is not a major crossroads of election theft through SmartMatic and directing drug trafficking in the United States and basically being run by Chinese and Cuban intelligence.
But that's where we are right now.
And so it's a day late, a dollar short to stop this.
So now we've got to have a larger debate about how far should the policy go, what are the contingency plans, because this could turn into something, again, far worse than Vietnam.
