Time Text
At the time, prior to his confirmation, then-Senator Sessions said that he didn't have any plans to, told me there were no plans to reverse the Cole memorandum.
Then-Senator Sessions told me that marijuana simply wasn't going to be on President Trump's agenda.
That it was something that they weren't going to deal with.
That's something that President Trump simply wasn't going to focus on.
That was back in the spring of 2016. And up until 8.58 this morning, that was the policy.
One tweet later, one policy later, a complete reversal of what many of us on the Hill were told before the confirmation, what we had continued to believe the last year, and without any notification, conversation, or dialogue with Congress.
Completely reversed.
Rather than go after the real criminals paying lip service to them, Attorney General Jeff Sessions would rather terrorize the American people for moving forward on the production and small business of a plant that grows naturally from the earth.
The American cannabis industry, an industry that can provide relief to the environment, veterans, the disabled, people in chronic pain, children with epilepsy, is now under fire by an Attorney General that is living in the past.
And this is what we can expect from Jeff Sessions' heavy As the sheriff of Clay County, I'm telling you, if you want to commit crimes in Clay County, you've got options.
You can stop what you're doing.
You can leave Clay County.
Or you, too, will be on the receiving end of this phone.
One day, you'll be sleeping at night, or early one morning, and you'll hear a bang and a lot of noise.
And the end result and the outcome will be me standing in your living room, like I said, drinking my morning cup of coffee.
Honolulu Police Department.
Medical marijuana users have 30 days to turn on their guns, police say.
The most liberal court.
Because I've seen it in the news saying Trump's doing it.
And I'm not defending Trump.
Sessions has announced marijuana forfeiture, ignoring state laws.
It's horrible.
It goes back on Trump's promises.
It's terrible.
It's one of the few things Trump's been breaking his promises on, like Afghanistan or vaccines.
Matt Dubiel, what do you make of this idiot misstep by Trump not being popular, not following his gut?
Sessions out of control.
Meanwhile, the Democrats are literally 50 times worse, literally taking the kids and the guns of marijuana legal users.
And the left doesn't even care.
It's insane.
I'll say Trump's wrong.
I'll say the left's wrong.
Why can't they just be honest?
What about Prozac?
What about Prozac and the SSRIs and all of the other SS, I mean, even thyroid medication that people are on.
They say on the Prozac spectrum drugs, it will cause you to be a homicidal killer or commit suicide in megalomania.
What people need to realize is, is they don't have the wherewithal to go after the Second Amendment the way that you're supposed to, which is, if you want to change it, amend the Constitution.
That's how you change it.
They can't do that.
They know they can't do that.
They know that will never happen.
We won't let it happen.
So instead, they go in these roundabout ways and have gun-free zones, and then they make these little rules where if you opt in for this thing that you want, you want the weed?
Okay, cool.
You can have the weed, but you gotta give us your gun.
But Sessions is facing an uphill battle.
The marijuana industry has become well-established, funding education and police with the tax dollars.
Not to mention that 6 in 10 Americans in a Pew Research poll think marijuana should be legalized.
Why must Sessions go?
Well, because he represents something that is so un-American as far as I'm concerned.
The war on drugs to me is a war on liberty.
And now we've even introduced the notion of nullification.
That should be a legal option, a constitutional option.
The states are nullifying the intrusiveness of the federal government.
So I think there's some great things that have been happening.
And I predict that Sessions is not going to be victorious on this.
And unfortunately, it's for a reason that I don't get excited about.
It's because the states want to collect all those taxes.
If Sessions knew what was good for him, he would pay more attention to draining the swamp.
This drug is dangerous.
You cannot play with it.
It's not funny.
It's not something to laugh about.
and trying to send that message with clarity that good people don't smoke marijuana.
