| It is November 6th, 2017, about 9 a.m. | |
| This is the site of the largest shooting in Texas history right now. | |
| It's the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs. | |
| Yesterday, worshipers gathered around 11 o'clock for the 11 service, about 11.30. | |
| An individual pulled up different concealed carry permits, or they'll have some sort of... | |
| Security officer involved. | |
| I think you're going to see this happening more and more as we go along here. | |
| But I want to show you guys a picture of the shooter. | |
| This was on Drudge Report. | |
| There he is. | |
| Killer preached atheism. | |
| Is that a good angle right there? | |
| Okay. | |
| He was also an Air Force reject. | |
| He was court-martialed from the Air Force for beating his wife and child. | |
| Assaulting them. | |
| And he was targeting ex-in-laws at the church. | |
| So people were wondering why, what is the connection to this church, him living some 30 miles to the north, northeast, or northwest, I'm sorry. | |
| And it was having to do with his mother-in-law attended this church. | |
| We don't know if she was one of the ones killed or injured at this point. | |
| But here's what I want to get to. | |
| I want to show you the face of a true hero. | |
| And a hero isn't somebody who puts on a uniform every day because they know what they're doing. | |
| That's their job. | |
| And I'm not taking anything away from that job. | |
| But a hero, a real hero, is somebody who, when the circumstances present themselves, turns and does the right thing and acts in a noble fashion. | |
| And that man right there, Stephen Wilford, he was the man who heard from his daughter that there was a gunman shooting worshippers at the church. | |
| The man had no military experience. | |
| He was a plumber. | |
| An everyday American. | |
| He grabbed his gun and he went down and he faced this guy with a shotgun and apparently hit him in between his body armor plates. | |
| So if you look at body armor, it's in the front and back, but not on the side. | |
| Hit him in the side. | |
| And then he, with the help of this other young man here, Johnny Lingendorf. | |
| Let's see if we can get a better picture of him. | |
| There he is right there. | |
| They gave chase. | |
| To the shooter who then jumped in his SUV, apparently with a hostage, which they haven't mentioned on the news at this point. | |
| I haven't heard them mention it. | |
| We're waiting for a press conference to happen soon with the sheriff. | |
| But there was apparently a hostage in the car with the shooter. | |
| And so these two men... | |
| Let's walk this way a little bit. | |
| These two men jumped in their car going 95 miles an hour. | |
| Chasing him down the road. | |
| There you go. | |
| Come on under. | |
| They end up running him off the road at some point. | |
| And then the killer, either he was bleeding out from his wounds and decided he wasn't going to fight anymore, or he just decided to kill himself. | |
| That we're still getting conflicting reports on. | |
| But he was hit, and that was the reason he dropped his gun and ran. | |
| So there's where you have... | |
| a good guy with a gun. | |
| And I want to talk about another thing that happened yesterday during the press conference and I'm going to put together a better report on this. | |
| But during the first press conference, there's an individual who is holding a He was holding a spot for an NPR guy who showed up late. | |
| And then he got into the back of the press conference. | |
| And he was one of the first questions asked. | |
| He said, is this man associated with any known militia groups? | |
| That was his first question. | |
| They hadn't even named the shooter yet. | |
| We hadn't even received a description except that he was a younger white male. | |
| And so on the left, of course, they assumed that the man is a member of a militia group. | |
| And then they're also trying to play up the fact that he taught at Vacation Bible School, which if anyone knows, they bring in a lot of people. | |
| They employ a lot of people in these things. | |
| So you don't necessarily have to have a religious prerequisite. | |
| And I think that's the sheriff taking off right now. | |
| Get a shot of that. | |
| I believe that's the sheriff driving off in his truck. | |
| Uh, we're not sure if he's going to give another press conference today or not, but people are going to be focusing on what type of gun he had, They're going to be focusing on how many rounds he had. | |
| Not the fact that a good guy with a gun came over here and stopped him. | |
| Heard the call, got out of his car, and confronted the man over in the parking lot over here. | |
| And then, not stopping, they gave chase to the gunman. | |
| Those are the two real heroes in this whole tale right now. | |
| Two average citizens who took it upon themselves to stop this madness. | |
| And this also should be a warning to people out there. | |
| You need to be prepared. | |
| You need to have a concealed carry license. | |
| You need to go out and train with your weapon. | |
| Because you never know when this stuff's going to strike. | |
| Obviously, it can strike in a town with no stoplights. | |
| And if it can do that there, it can go anywhere. | |
| So just remember that as we move forward in this tale and as we watch the mainstream media try to frame this into a gun debate. | |
| We know that's their favorite ploy to do. | |
| They'll be talking about the gun, what kind of guns he had, and not about the heroes who stopped him. | |
| And the fact that the police didn't arrive until six minutes after he had died. | |
| So when seconds count, police unfortunately are minutes away. | |
| We can't have police everywhere. | |
| We don't want to live in a police state. | |
| We want to be free people. | |
| And the way to be free is to be prepared and to be armed. | |
| We'll be following more reports today. | |
| I'm also going to dig out that audio from the press conference and put together a report to see if we can figure out who this individual is who was so concerned about associating him with a militia. | |
| We know if there would have been any militia ties, then at that point you do look to the FBI because they love to sheep dip people into militia groups and then parade them around like what we saw with Timothy McVeigh with Elohim City. | |
