Time Text
This is Michael Zimmerman for Infowords.com.
I'm here with Gary Haven.
Yesterday we traveled from Florida to the Dominican Republic here, just miles from Puerto Rico, which was devastated by a hurricane close to two weeks ago now.
And we're here, we're going to be providing relief effort to these people, but also exposing the fake news media narrative that the United States is not providing any help to these people.
We've seen the mayor of San Juan Very against Trump.
Wearing shirts that say, you know, we're dying.
Yeah, recently today she was wearing a shirt that said nasty.
A reference to the I'm a nasty woman speech at the Women's March, which was really about abortion.
So what is going on currently?
What's the truth about relief efforts in Puerto Rico right now?
Well, tomorrow we're scheduled to go into Puerto Rico and begin our...
I've been in close touch.
A good friend of mine is a former U.S. Ambassador.
He was with the head of FEMA yesterday in San Juan.
Here are the three problems.
The first thing is that most of the goods that are coming to the country are under the control of FEMA. FEMA has very limited means to distribute the goods across the country.
They're relying on about 20 Osprey aircraft from the Marine Corps that work most like helicopters to move to the rural areas.
But the trucking organization in Puerto Rico has a real problem right now.
Mainstream media has been denying that the Teamsters Union is not moving the goods in the country.
They're not driving the trucks.
We're going to link to a video where the head of Frank D'Ampe, which is the version of Teamsters in Puerto Rico, has called a strike.
He was bragging on the fact that 80% of the truckers are complying with the strike.
So think about this.
You have 3.5 million people in Puerto Rico.
50% of them are lacking water.
97% are lacking electricity.
So these people don't have food, fuel, or water.
But on the dock at San Juan is 13,000 shipping containers full of these goods that are sitting there because the teamster version of the Puerto Rican Trucking Association has gone on strike.
Seems they're angry that three weeks ago the Puerto Rican mayor signed a law.
That they didn't approve of.
And so when the reporters in Puerto Rico pointed out to the Teamsters head that there's an emergency, that this is a crisis situation, his response to that was too bad.
He said, we're simply not going to move the goods.
People don't care about truckers.
We don't care about the people.
It's extraordinary.
And that's, at the moment, the bottleneck.
That's keeping the goods that Trump has made sure has been sent there.
There's so many thousands of pounds of goods that the ships offshore can't even come and unload because there's no room left on the docks.
Now, when have you heard the mayor of San Juan talking about her responsibility to get the unions to start doing their job and providing for these people that are suffering?
So that specifically is the bottleneck.
And again, the mainstream media says the Teamsters are not doing this.
But you're going to see a link to this.
Unfortunately, it's in Spanish.
I happen to speak Spanish, so I'm able to listen to the words that the head of the union explain why they're on strike.
So it is what it is.
So that's the first really big problem there.
The other problem is that there are a lot of people like me with private aircraft that are here to help move goods across the country in spite of the truckers.
It's not going to break the rules where they would give goods to people like me that can transport them to other cities and people in need.
So we're trying to get FEMA to let go of the resources because there are people besides the truckers that are willing to move this across the country.
So tomorrow we're going to go to San Juan and try to meet with FEMA and let them loosen this up.
You know, rules are great, but not when people are starving or dying of thirst, which is the situation we have right now.
There's some good news.
We're working with some Christian organizations that are being organized actually out of the White House, and they've got 2,000 churches that are able to move goods, get them to the people in need, and tomorrow we're going to be supporting Pastor Todd, who works side by side with President Trump's pastor, whose name is Paula White.
And we're going to be moving him around the country to do site surveys to see what we could do to make this thing better.
And by the way, there's a lot of good being done in Puerto Rico right now.
The people themselves are working to share and to try to provide water resources to keep their heads above the water, so to speak, in this event.
You know, my good friend who's a former U.S. Ambassador, Louis Lutt, He's staying in a hotel right now.
We just spoke with him a few hours ago with no electricity, no air conditioning, and it's a tough situation.
And he's trying to get FEMA to move off of this.
He's trying to get different types of USAID out of the port and into the hands of the people that need it.
So hopefully tomorrow we're going to be able to play a role in that.
And Michael's going to be in Puerto Rico probably overnight tomorrow and the next day on the ground.
We're seeing this firsthand.
And when you come back, we'll do a follow-up report, because I'm going to have firsthand knowledge then, and together we can maybe share with the American people how we can break this bottleneck.
But Trump has done a wonderful job.
Unfortunately, he's vulnerable and dependent on the people of Puerto Rico to deal with their unions and to deal with the other types of corruption that are going on there.
So, you know, maybe we can break this and get the goods.
American taxpayers have invested in and get them to the people that need it.
Absolutely.
So the main problem, distribution at this point, like you said, we're going to try to break through that bottleneck.
And once that happens, all these goods that are sitting there on the port are going to get into the hands of the people and real work can start being done to rebuild Puerto Rico.
And really the first priority right now is clean water, food, and then restoring power to the country.
As of yesterday, only 18% of the cell towers were working.
So that's also an issue, just communications right now, finding out where that aid is actually needed the most.
Yeah.
And, you know, with our aircraft tomorrow, we're going to be able to go to a variety of cities and meet with people of influence.
A lot of mayors are going to be available.
And I tell you, this church organization, 2,000 churches are ready to serve.
The problem is FEMA's not giving goods over to private organizations, even representatives in the White House.
I've been unable to get them to let loose and let the churches do this distribution.
So, you know, whenever you hear I'm with the government and I'm here to help you, you know, guys, this is a great lesson.
You know, I'm a big-time prepper.
You don't ever want to be dependent on the government.
Imagine thousands of pounds of goods that are sitting on the port, but because of a bottleneck, they've been unable to get it to the people.
So hopefully we can use our influence and getting the word out through Infowars to kind of expose the bureaucracy that's holding this thing back and kind of break this through.
I've got a lot of friends over in Puerto Rico right now trying to do this very thing.
So we're going to go give them some help.
You're going to tell the story from on the ground reporting and hopefully we can...
Eliminate the bureaucracy and start doing some good with all of these resources that are there in country.
Absolutely.
So stay tuned to the Alex Jones channel.
