Mobile Homes Flipped
00:05:14
|
|
| We're in Eagleside, Texas and we're in what looks to be like a mobile home trailer park And we're just documenting some of the most serious damage that we've seen yet on our way to Rockport. | |
| This mobile home has been completely full. | |
| As you can see, this mobile home has been completely full. | |
| What type of wind? | |
| how strong the wind must be to completely uplift. | |
| I'm going to smash this window. | |
| I hope you have insurance. | |
| That's a nice scenario. | |
| And I don't think it's going to work anymore. | |
| As you can see, folks, just completely overturned. | |
| Now, as we approach the area, you can kind of see it. | |
| Maybe not from here, but these power lines are down here. | |
| And they're actually blocking the road. | |
| The wires were like this. | |
| You can't drive through. | |
| There's police addressing that right now. | |
| We're going to take you through this mobile home. | |
| So again, they're completely flipped. | |
| Now, it does appear that this area has been evacuated. | |
| They're not seeing any signs of life. | |
| It looks like most of the areas where they would park their cars and hitch up, Their mobile home has been removed. | |
| There's only a few cars left. | |
| You can see that, I mean, look at all this damage. | |
| Debris everywhere. | |
| That's not the only mobile home in front, folks. | |
| Here's the second one. | |
| You got another one over here. | |
| Totally overturned. | |
| Look at the power lines, completely down. | |
| How you doing? | |
| Nice. | |
| Did you shoot some video, doing some reports? | |
| How you doing? | |
| Here we go. | |
| We're at an independent news outlet. | |
| We're just trying to document some of the damage. | |
| I hope that's not an issue. | |
| That would be no good. | |
| So, thank you. | |
| Thank you for watching. | |
| So, we've got some local neighborhood watch here, making sure that people aren't looting, obviously, with all the damage. | |
| I'm not even sure what this is. | |
| Here, let's just walk back here. | |
| It looks like just in front of you can really see why the debris is blowing this way. | |
| So I guess all of this debris is blowing out of this field. | |
| And you can just see these fences are down. | |
| Over there, there's just nothing but fences down and debris everywhere. | |
| I mean, let's look at all the debris here in this field. | |
| And if you can actually see, there's a herd of cattle. | |
| About 200 yards out there that actually look like they're doing okay today. | |
| But that barn over there, completely destroyed. | |
| Here's another mobile home that's been completely flipped. | |
| Just totally flipped, folks. | |
| I mean, that is amazing. | |
| That's the third one we've seen here just in this local community, and I'm seeing a few more. | |
| Look at the damage here. | |
| We just got a siding from a house or siding so something is completely torn off, ripped, and then it gets impaled by that hole. | |
| We got more damage here. | |
| So this is the Country Villa Mobile Old Park. | |
| They were just driving through here to make sure that we weren't looters. | |
| So we obviously respect that. | |
| But actually this tree has been severely damaged. | |
| This garage... | |
| We're hearing now more... | |
| I don't know if you guys have a strip or a chain out here. | |
| That's a little bit. | |
| Did you get that ground? | |
| Look at this garage. | |
| Yeah, yeah. | |
| Totally down. | |
| So I'm not sure if those cars in there are okay, but that's good to be fine. | |
| Two more mobile homes. | |
| Flip. | |
| Continuing to flip. | |
| That's the way it has to be sustaining at least 100 miles per hour if you're going to be flipping. | |
| Flip. | |
| I can't even think of the word right now. | |
| Foundation, thank you. | |
| These ones' foundations look like they're still there. | |
| That one's falling off its foundation. | |
| This one has been completely destroyed. | |
| You can just imagine what it would be like to be in one of those. | |
| God, I hope everybody got out safely before that happened. | |
| Hopefully everybody here evacuated. | |
| It looks like that's the case. | |
| I'm not seeing any signs of life other than the people that run the community here. | |
| More siding just completely destroyed there. | |
| Another mobile home just completely flipped. | |
| I mean, these are huge, huge vehicles. | |
| Just totally flipped. | |
| More damage sustained over here. | |
| Really quite incredible. | |
| I'm guessing that this is some of the siding that we're seeing. | |
|
Continuing Into Rockport
00:00:51
|
|
| As you can see, this place has had the siding completely ripped off. | |
| There's a busted out window. | |
| The power lines are down over here as well. | |
| All the shingles, all the shingles on that roof. | |
| Completely gone. | |
| So this is just one little neighborhood we decided to stop here and document all the damage from the hurricane. | |
| We are still probably 30 miles outside of Rockport, which is where they got the worst of it. | |
| So we're expecting as we continue to head towards Rockport to see more damage like this and we will continue to document it for you. | |
| Our thoughts and prayers are with all the people from this community. | |
| Hopefully everyone was safe here. | |
| Hopefully people don't go around robbing and looting people in these tragic times because that's really sad that that's the state of some people. | |
| But we're going to sign off for now. | |
| We're going to continue to head to Rockport. | |
