Time Text
All right, ladies and gentlemen, we are now in Rockport, driving through Rockport, and as you can see, serious devastation here.
Is that a satellite tower, Don?
Look at the bent metal from the wind.
Totally bent over.
These are satellites.
That's an entire roof uplifted off of the...
Dude, can we drive back there?
See if you can drive back there.
All right, folks, so...
Look at this, across the road.
This is nuts.
We just...
Holy smokes.
We just got to Rockport.
We have no service, so unfortunately we can't do a live video.
So we're just going to capture all this for you now and try to get it uploaded as soon as we can.
Power lines totally down here in the road.
We did actually see some signs of some rescue crews here down the road.
We'll probably see that in a second.
There's Lighthouse Road.
That sign is completely down.
Fences down.
Houses boarded up.
Power lines totally down.
And there's a mobile home completely flipped.
We've seen dozens of those now.
Power line, that thing is completely down.
That thing is totally screwed.
Oh my gosh, this is...
Wow.
Look at that roof.
That is an entire roof that has come off of this building, folks.
Yeah, we're not allowed to get back there.
So they've basically blocked off this area.
As you can see, power lines are down.
In the middle of the road here.
Now this is a big antenna that I don't know if this is some sort of a TV station or what.
Look at that antenna.
Oh actually that's the Texas Department of Transportation we're at right now.
Oh wow.
So there's their antenna completely bent by the wind.
Literally bent over and the roof of the building completely flown off.
That is the roof of that building right there.
Again, that That huge scrap of metal right there is the roof to that building.
So what is that?
About a 50-yard uplift from the roof?
It's the same roof as across the street here.
I'm going to turn it around and do a U-turn.
It looks like the Department of Transportation is trying to maybe get in here.
Maybe get into their headquarters?
No, they're just taking pictures.
So here's the Texas Transportation Department.
They're taking pictures of the devastation done from Hurricane Harvey to their own building.
This looks like the same material, the same chunk of roof that has been...
Yeah, so part of the roof flew over to the other side of the road.
So some of the roof flew 100 yards.
That is the roof of that building.
Still more of it right there.
And look at this trailer, clearly far away from where it originally stood.
Yeah, who knows where that trailer originally was, but it wasn't there.
That's for sure.
Power lines totally down.
Here's some local news outlets here in the area.
This is a news outlet from Austin.
We're going to continue to drive through Rockport, Texas here and document some of this devastation.
You've got power lines dangling over the road.
Literally dangling.
This one is just hanging from a thread here.
You just saw that truck drive under it.
Power lines in the road that we just drove over.
Here's some of the other power lines that are just still barely standing.
Very dangerous.
And you can see the just complete devastation of this area.
The awnings are down.
The lights are down.
Scrap metal everywhere.
Roofs torn apart.
Siding torn apart.
Here's a storage facility.
Fence totally down.
Look at all this scrap metal.
Nobody even knows where it comes from.
It's just flying off of everything.
Total destruction to that house.
Wow, look at that.
That's a house just completely flipped over.
This Exxon Mobil was able to...
Maintained through the storm.
Looks like the power is out in this area.
Owen Troyer, Harrison Smith from InfoWars with you.
Documenting the devastation just everywhere.
Wow, look at that.
Totally destroyed.
Here's...
This is absolute devastation.
Here's Jimmy Wood's produce just completely destroyed.
We're going to continue to drive through Rockport here.
Just to show you, what is that?
I guess that was what used to be the roof of that.
Here's a Valero.
Oh wow, there it is.
So this Valero roof, oh my gosh.
The roof to that Valero ended up in that other person's yard.
So that's what that was.
I was wondering what that was.
I guess I just need to leave the window down because the camera doesn't let us see through windows now.
We're just going to continue to drive through Rockport and show you this terrible devastation here.
Trees down everywhere.
Debris everywhere.
This road is completely flooded.
And again, this was actually our third attempt to get into Rockport.
Our previous two attempts got blocked because of roads being flooded.
That is a 180 degree flip.
You can see the street scrap metal signs down, mobile homes completely flipped.
it.
Look at this.
Oh my gosh.
I hope that these people were able to evacuate.
Again, the mayor of Rockport said that so far they've recorded no casualties.
That's a blessing.
Because this is just absolute devastation here.
I mean, I don't know how long it would take To get these communities and these societies back up and functioning again with all of this mess, all of this devastation, roofs off, fences gone, cattle just roaming.
If you had a mobile home out here, it could have ended up flipped over completely on its head.
Trees down everywhere, debris everywhere, and because it's across such a wide zone, it makes it really hard for any sort of rescue effort.
To be quick and efficient because there's just so much to do.
So again, we're just driving through Rockport, Texas right now showing you some of the devastation.
It does seem to be that Rockport got the worst of it at least last night when Hurricane Harvey made landfall.
We're still expecting the rains to cause major flooding, especially in Houston.
Is what we're really concerned about flooding in Houston.
Here's a tree down in the middle of the road almost.
Because the rain hasn't stopped.
It continues to rain.
The wind is not as bad as it was.
I'm sure if we continued to go farther east it would get worse.
But Hurricane Harvey makes landfall last night and really did a number on Rockport, Texas.
And it does appear that most of the people here were able to get out of Dodge before a lot of the damage was done.
And again, no fatalities have been reported.
But if you had a home in this area, if you had any property in this area, a business, whatever, it's probably suffered a large extent of damage.
In fact, your home could be completely...
Completely wrecked.
Your mobile home could be completely flipped.
Your car could be completely flooded or hit with a tree.
Your business is probably going to take a while to get it back open.
Oh my gosh, look at this.
This building is unrecognizable now.
I'm not even sure.
Excuse me, folks.
We're coming up on this building.
It's not a building anymore.
It's a scrap of metal.
Here, you want to hold that out?
Look at that jet right there.
Oh my gosh, yeah, these are...
This is an airplane hangar.
Completely destroyed.
Airplanes once sat, you could actually see some of those...
From the other angle, you could see some of the airplanes have just been crushed.
Look at that over there, too.
In the distance.
I don't know if the camera can pick it up, but same deal.
These hangars are just absolutely destroyed here.
These are...
Obviously where they house the small airplanes, obviously a small airport, a lot of single-engine prop planes.
Yeah, there's another one in there.
Yeah, you can see the red tail of that airplane in there.
There's a couple in there.
There's an unhappy aviator somewhere in Texas right now.
I'm gonna hand the camera back.
It's a little dangerous to me.
Harrison driving in a hurricane and operating the camera at the same time, folks.
That's commitment.
So again, Rockport, Texas.
Power lines in the middle of the road.
Devastating flooding.
We just saw an air hangar completely destroyed.
You can see the road signs just destroyed.
Flooding everywhere.
And it does appear to be the case.
Look at these power lines.
This is a power line literally dangling in the middle of the road here.
Somebody put down a cone there.
I might not have seen that.
It does appear that Rockport got hit hardest by the hurricane.
And we've been driving through Corpus Christi just to get here.
And we've pretty much seen all the damage.
And without a doubt, this is the worst we've seen.
Much worse than what was in Corpus Christi.
And I would imagine that if we just continue to...
In fact, we're just going to continue to go through here.
We're about to cross a large bridge if it's so operable.
So we'll keep you with us through this bridge.
We'll see what the story is on the bridge.
And then we'll probably shut this down, maybe do a new video.
But unable to do Facebook Live mentions, we wanted to do that.
That was the plan.
But we got no service.
There's no service.
There's no power.
Because of the weather conditions, we've had some equipment.
Malfunction on us because it gets wet and it's just crazy so we're trying to deal with that too.
Another mobile home park here just completely destroyed.
Just completely wrecked.
So we're going to see what the case is.
It appears that we're about to be approaching a bridge according to our map.
But we're going to see what the deal with this bridge is.
If it is a bridge, that house was able to not sustain so much damage.
Shocking.
We have seen rescue, not rescue crews, but utility companies, disaster, a lot of news vans.
This is ABC 13 from Houston.
So here's the bridge.
We're going to go ahead and brave it since we see people coming off.
I imagine it's sound.
water level really high luckily this bridge was built really tall so I don't think it's at risk of flooding but back there potentially So we are on a bridge right now heading out of Rockport.
We're just going into a different section of Rockport.
A different section of Rockport.
George Mustang Island.
Still just rainy as all get out.
Foggy.
You can't see anything.
A lot of people stopped at the top of these bridges.
You know, maybe they might know something we don't know.
Maybe they're afraid of floods.
We have been getting flood warnings.
Texas Task Force number one, so there we have some statewide operations taking place.
We've seen the fruit of that.
We've seen that they have moved away some of the road blockage and they have moved some of the power lines out of the way, but still there's a lot to do and a lot more that...
It may be done.
If this rain doesn't let up, the flooding will continue to get worse and worse.
And these waters are really choppy right now.
I don't know if you can see.
Typically, there's a...
You can kind of see the pylons over there.
There's usually...
There is usually land just over there that is now totally underwater.
You can see some of the...
Some of the pylons sticking out there.
Those are usually pretty far out of the water.
These waters are quite high.
What we're going to do is go up and to the right over here.
So where we're going to be in about five minutes is on that shoreline that you're now seeing over to the left.
So we're going to go there and see some of the houses and some of the neighborhood there and see how it's fared.
You can see sort of a fishing pier.
This is where people would go and buy live bait.
And where boats would often dock and now it just looks like a shell of itself.
Yeah, completely destroyed really
Oh Oh My gosh,
all right this - This, there you go. - This is an entire structure down.
Yeah, that's the entire roof to this gas station here.
This is where I come to buy bait when I come to Rockport.
I've got family that's just down the road here, and this is where we come to buy our...
So yeah, there used to be a roof and a structure here.
Now it's over there.
Wow.
This is shocking.
Look at the propane tanks on their side.
I think that it might be a while before you can buy bait there again.
Over here to the right is where the bait shacks would be.
Had to roll up the window.
We're getting pelted with rain here.
So yeah, the rain is just continuing to fall.
Kind of like these power lines.
There's a tavern cafe where we go get dinner sometimes.
Looks like it has suffered some damage as well.
Yeah, just a power line just down in the middle of the parking lot.
Just hanging there.
And here we have this Texas Parks and Wildlife state game warden here.
Was he just waving or was he trying?
I don't know.
I was looking at the camera.
I think he was just waving at us.
Let's look at the flooding out here on the pier, too.
Every time I open this window, I get pelted with rain, but just trying to get all this footage for you guys.
Just totally underwater there.
You can see what we're driving up towards.
I mean, there are just power lines in the road.
We're going to try to skirt around them a little bit.
See, this is what I was talking about earlier.
The power lines you saw earlier fell on the other side of the road.
These ones are in the middle of the road.
That's very dangerous.
Obviously these transponders, transductors, whatever they are, they're all blowing up.
We can't even think straight right now.
But look at, I mean, it's really just wild.
We saw one of the cell phone towers on our way over here.
There was a cell phone tower.
That, you know, they have the wires that basically keep it down to the ground.
These tall structures, they put all of these wires down to the ground to keep it stable.
And about half of them were snapped.
Just dangling.
So it'll be interesting to see if we see some damage on that front.
Oh my gosh, look at this!
This is a power line completely suspended.
Snapped in half.
And now suspended.
You can see here these fences just completely destroyed.
Homes devastated.
Right here on the coast, right here in the Gulf.
Wow.
Now this entire fence line is gone.
That used to be an arbor there.
I mean, this is just incredible.
The smell of gasoline.
Yeah, there is a really pungent smell of gasoline.
Wow, look at that.
I don't know what that is, but that is pungent.
That's my brother.
So the house is still standing here.
It looks like a lot of the houses are still standing, which is good, but the infrastructure around and the fencing clearly taken some damage.
Alright, we're gonna go ahead and park the car and take a little walk around this property here.
Alright, so we're going to sign off for now, but you've seen it.
We just drove through Rockford, about 20 minutes.
Rockport, thank you.
Rockport, for about 20 minutes.
You've seen the devastation.
We're going to conclude this video.
