Owen Troyer here for Infowars.com.
We are in the Raptor on our way to Corpus Christi.
We're probably about maybe 20 miles, 25 miles outside Corpus Christi right now.
I'm really shocked at the lack of precipitation.
We went through a couple stretches there where it was really heavy precipitation, but not much so far.
But as you can see, if you can see as we're driving along, it might be kind of tough.
to tell since we're moving how strong the wind is but that's what's really shocked me.
The wind is really incredible.
I mean trees are being blown.
There's some palm trees down here in the area that are basically being blown sideways.
It really shows the strength of the wind and as you can see the road is empty.
We are one of very very few vehicles we've seen going south for the last about 30 miles.
Vehicles going south Very few and far between.
But even vehicles going north, very few and far between.
Not too many people on 37 north.
I expected more of a evacuation train, if you will, on 37 north, but never really experienced that.
The only place I really saw it was on 35 in between San Antonio and Austin.
So we're about 20-25 miles outside Corpus Christi.
It's very deserted here going south.
Looks like we've got some flooding going on here on the right, as Harrison points out from behind the wheel, multitasking here at Infowars.com.
You can see right there, if you can, it's probably tough since we're moving so fast, but the wind is blowing these trees and these bushes and everything completely sideways.
It looks like the camera is not going to let us look outside the car.
Yeah, that's always nice.
As you can see, though, we're moving towards Corpus Christi.
Again, not as much rain as I expected, but the wind is serious.
If the phone would let me look outside the window, you can see that, but it's not going to let me do that.
President Trump just tweeted out...
That Hurricane Harvey is going to be more powerful than expected and that the federal government is already on the scene ready to help.
So we can only assume that that means FEMA is going to be out with evacuation squads, emergency squads.
I saw that the Red Cross is going to be set up in Corpus Christi ready to help people.
They're also set up in Austin, Houston, and many areas in between.
But as we approach Corpus Christi, not too much rain.
It's been a case that I think we'd be experiencing more rain but the wind, the wind has been seriously incredible and we just saw for the first time on the side of the road some flooding.
On the right side of the highway, if you go back and check out the video.
So again, about 20-25 miles outside Corpus Christi.
The highway 37 South completely abandoned.
We're all on our own out here.
And the wind, the wind is really howling as we are encroaching Hurricane Harvey.
