Special Reports & Tweets - MSM Compares Trump To Nixon After Firing James Comey Aired: 2017-05-10 Duration: 01:55 === Donald Trump's Presidency (01:55) === [00:00:00] Most of America thought that he botched the Clinton email scandal. [00:00:04] All the Democrats thought he said too much, and all the Republicans thought he didn't do enough. [00:00:08] So he had the confidence of almost no one. [00:00:11] Why, when you talk to Democrats, do they still believe that there is collusion? [00:00:15] It's sour grapes over the election. [00:00:17] The whole Russia thing, I think, has been propagated by people who are upset they lost the election. [00:00:22] They've sunk their teeth into something. [00:00:24] They think they'll eventually find something. [00:00:26] But everything is sort of built upon a huge myth as far as I'm concerned. [00:00:32] Good evening. [00:00:39] There are reports tonight that President Nixon has ordered Attorney General Elliot Richardson to fire the special Watergate prosecutor Archibald Cox. [00:00:47] Scholars are comparing this to Nixon's Saturday Night Massacre. [00:00:51] What do you make of those comparisons? [00:00:52] Well, I think that's ridiculous. [00:00:54] This is just the most preposterous pretext. [00:00:57] This is an investigator who is investigating the White House. [00:01:02] And he was just fired by the White House. [00:01:06] This doesn't happen in the United States, except on October 20th, 1973, when Richard Nixon filed Archibald Cox. [00:01:14] People see this as a real threat. [00:01:16] I think we've taken a step away from rule of law toward the rule of a small group of people. [00:01:21] And I also want to say that as a result of that, I feel vindicated, because I said that Donald Trump had become president, and he has become president, President Nixon. [00:01:29] It just harkens back, I think, to some of the most tainted actions by President Nixon. [00:01:35] Let's remember that we face a looming constitutional crisis, very much like happened in 1973, the Midnight Massacre. [00:01:46] This episode has very much the feel of that chapter in our history, one that we should not repeat. [00:01:54] Cox, Archibald Cox, fire him!
