Hi, this is Dr. this is Dr. Steve Pachanek and this is Steve Talks.
Hi, I'm Dr. Pachanek.
Pichetti.
Today I'd like to talk about Trump and certain things that are happening with Trump and presumably against Trump.
Let me talk about the first thing Trump is going to do tomorrow on July 9th.
he's going to announce who the Supreme Court justice is going to be.
Tonight, it is my honor and privilege to announce that I will nominate Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court.
Thank you.
Judge Kavanaugh has impeccable credentials, unsurpassed qualifications and a proven commitment to equal justice under the law.
A graduate of Yale College and Yale Law School, Judge Kavanaugh currently teaches at Harvard, Yale and Georgetown.
Throughout legal circles, he is considered a judge's judge, a true thought leader among his peers.
He's a brilliant jurist with a clear and effective writing style universally regarded as one of the finest and sharpest legal minds of our time.
And just like Justice Gorsuch, he excelled as a clerk for Justice Kennedy.
That's great.
Thank you.
Thank you.
President, thank you.
Mr.
President, I am grateful to you.
And I'm humbled by your confidence in me.
Thank you.
Thirty years ago, President Reagan nominated Anthony Kennedy to the Supreme Court.
The framers established that the Constitution is designed to secure the blessings of liberty.
Justice Kennedy devoted his career to securing liberty.
I am deeply honored to be nominated to fill his seat on the Supreme Court.
If confirmed by the Senate, I will keep an open mind in every case.
And I will always strive to preserve the Constitution of the United States in the American rule of law.
Thank you, Mr.
President.
Now to a second point.
Trump has said that Harley-Davidson, the famous motorcycle maker, are leaving the United States.
The entire 7 billion corporation wants to leave because of Trump's increase in taxes and tariffs on aluminum and steel.
What Harley-Davidson hasn't said and didn't say anything about in their history is the fact that under the Reagan administration, when I was there, they had pled and begged Reagan to increase the tariff on Japanese motorcycles coming into the United States from 4% to 44%.
Now, that was not just a slight suggestion.
That was a major issue for Harley-Davidson.
At the same time, within a few years, they went into bankruptcy and major economic failure, not because of a tariff, but because they were not competent to handle the financial sheets, the balance sheets and the production capacity for Harley-Davidson.
And what happened?
Over a period between 2000 and 2009, they asked for 33 different federal grants in order to sustain their financial accountability in the markets.
Not only did they have a tariff to protect them, but they also had over $2.2 billion In American funding in order to preserve Harley-Davidson.
As a result of all of this welfare that we, the American taxpayer, paid Harley-Davidson, the present CEO is only making $8.9 million.
The present vice CEO or the vice president there is only making $2.9 million.
As well as the other members of Harley-Davidson.
So we have a welfare company which never paid back the $2 billion as well as all of the 33 grants that we, the United States government, gave them in order to preserve them.
So let them get out and they will go under again.
A third element.
Trump is going to be meeting Putin.
And many people are saying, you know, Putin will take advantage of Trump and this is going to be a giveaway of some sort.
I don't agree.
Again, I go back to a very simple issue that occurred in 2018 in February when under Trump over 500 Russian mercenaries were killed.
Because they were attacking our Delta and our special forces in Syria.
The key issue for Trump now is to allow Putin to solve the problem in Syria with Israel, Iran, and Russia.
And that can be solved very quickly by Putin.
Let me quote Trump.
He says, if you're going to fight, fight tough, fight hard, and fight angry.
