Freedomain Radio - Stefan Molyneux - Can You Get Into Heaven by Doing Nothing? Aired: 2025-09-25 Duration: 04:05 === Faith vs. Works (04:04) === [00:00:01] Can you get into heaven by doing nothing? [00:00:05] Yes. [00:00:06] Christ died for the ungodly. [00:00:08] With his stripes were healed. [00:00:09] It is finished. [00:00:11] Okay. [00:00:11] So a non-believer, a murderer, a sinner, a fornicator can get into heaven by doing nothing. [00:00:21] No repentance, no worship, no church going, no prayer, no conciliation with God, no nothing. [00:00:27] He can just go do his evil stuff and he just sails like a soap bubble. [00:00:31] He just sails up through the atmosphere into heaven when he dies. [00:00:34] You have to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. [00:00:37] Fantastic. [00:00:37] Okay. [00:00:38] So you have to earn. [00:00:40] No. [00:00:40] Forgive me. [00:00:41] Faith is the opposite of doing. [00:00:42] This is one thing I struggle with for years. [00:00:44] Faith is, okay, so the gospel is Christ died for our sins. [00:00:47] What does that mean? [00:00:48] Your sins are forgiven. [00:00:49] Go in peace. [00:00:50] So if Christ died for my sins, I'm forgiven. [00:00:53] And so I have to literally call God a liar to say that Christ did not die for my sins. [00:00:58] Okay, so if Christ died for everyone's sins and then everyone is forgiven, you don't need to do anything to get to heaven. [00:01:03] He didn't die for everybody. [00:01:05] He only died for the elect. [00:01:08] Okay, so you have to believe in Jesus to get to heaven. [00:01:11] And you also, you can't say, I believe in Jesus and then break all the commandments, right? [00:01:15] You can't go around murdering people saying, I believe in Jesus and go to heaven, right? [00:01:19] Justification and sanctification are separate. [00:01:21] You're trying to mix the two. [00:01:22] You can't do that when you're talking about justification. [00:01:25] Don't tell me what I can and can't do. [00:01:26] That's kind of rude. [00:01:27] You can make a case for something, but don't give me orders. [00:01:30] I'm not trying to be rude, but. [00:01:32] No, you are. [00:01:32] You're telling me what I can and can't talk about. [00:01:34] I mean, you can make a difference. [00:01:36] I mean, no, you can talk about Bob Saint theologically speaking. [00:01:39] You can't do that. [00:01:41] Can a murderer who claims to believe in Jesus go to heaven? [00:01:48] Okay. [00:01:49] Homosexual can go to heaven if he believes in Jesus. [00:01:53] Look, we have this sin in us. [00:01:55] So you can be a mass murderer. [00:01:58] You can be a pedophile. [00:02:00] And if you say you believe in Jesus, you're good. [00:02:03] I don't care about what the person says. [00:02:05] Is the person believing in Jesus? [00:02:07] So do they come to Christ? [00:02:08] Do they put their hand on the sacrifice by faith appropriate that as theirs? [00:02:12] If they do to say that they're saying, so if you believe in Jesus, then clearly you believe in Jesus' teachings, right? [00:02:20] Yes, part of faith is knowledge, and then the second part of faith is a sense, and the third part is trust. [00:02:25] Well, and there has to be actions as well, right? [00:02:27] No, no. [00:02:29] Well, no, because if you have a believe in a math teacher who says that two and two make four, if I believe in a math teacher who says that two and two make four, if I go around saying two and two make five, am I following the teachings of that math teacher? [00:02:54] No, yeah, yeah, I guess you're calling a math teacher a liar. [00:02:57] Well, I can't say I believe in this math teacher. [00:03:00] I accept that the math teacher is perfect and divine and wonderful and always true. [00:03:06] And this math teacher says that two and two make four, but I go around saying that two and two make five. [00:03:10] Would that not be an indication that I do not actually believe in what the math teacher says? [00:03:14] Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:03:16] Okay. [00:03:16] So if you believe in Jesus, you have to follow what Jesus says in your actions. [00:03:24] No, no, just as if you believe in the math teacher who says two and two make four, you have to say that two and two make four. [00:03:30] If you believe in Jesus, you will follow him. [00:03:33] It's not, we don't follow him because we are trying to avoid hell. [00:03:36] We follow him because that's naturally what we're going to do. [00:03:39] Fantastic. [00:03:39] Okay. [00:03:40] So the way that you know if somebody truly believes in Jesus is they're following his teachings, right? [00:03:45] Yeah, we judge people by their actions. [00:03:47] God judges them by their heart, but we can only see the actions. [00:03:50] Okay, okay. [00:03:51] So to believe in Jesus means that you act in a manner consistent with Jesus' teachings, right? [00:03:59] No, so that's where you're met. [00:04:00] No, no, we just went through this. [00:04:02] You can't do that. [00:04:02] No, we say we judge people by their actions and by their truths, shall you know them?
