Freedomain Radio - Stefan Molyneux - 3693 What Pisses Me Off About The Ariana Grande Terrorist Attack Aired: 2017-05-23 Duration: 08:36 === Manchester Attack Update (06:07) === [00:00:00] Today, tonight, at least 20 people have been killed in what's been reported as a possible suicide blast. [00:00:09] At a concert in Manchester, 50 injured. [00:00:13] There probably will be more fatalities, more dead, by the time you watch this. [00:00:21] UK authorities say that the incident, the attack, was probably a suicide bomber with a backpack bomb. [00:00:29] Possibly filled with nails. [00:00:31] People have been treated for shrapnel-like injuries. [00:00:34] Some people say there were two explosions. [00:00:39] And there have been reports of controlled explosions since. [00:00:43] It is, of course, currently being treated as a terrorist attack. [00:00:48] And you can see the video footage online. [00:00:51] Thousands are screaming and fleeing in tears from a venue where they have been singing along and dancing as people are... [00:01:00] Covered head to toe in blood and body parts. [00:01:08] I would imagine that the injuries are going to go up from here as well. [00:01:19] So, after the concert, or just as the concert was ending, there was a boom, it caught people. [00:01:25] As they exited, and of course, if it was outside the arena as people were leaving, then of course, security doesn't help you much now, does it? [00:01:37] Because you see, here was the problem. [00:01:40] Here was the problem for certain twisted ideologies that infest and infect this world. [00:01:47] You see, what happened was, people were out there at this concert, Having fun. [00:01:54] Enjoying themselves. [00:01:55] The base sense pleasures of music and dancing and sing-alongs. [00:01:59] They were enjoying a performer. [00:02:01] They were enjoying the performance. [00:02:02] They were enjoying the music. [00:02:04] And we can't have any of that, can we, for some people? [00:02:07] No fun to be had. [00:02:12] Well, London Mayor Sadiq Khan warned Londoners. [00:02:17] He said terrorist attacks are just part and parcel of living in a big city. [00:02:22] Really? [00:02:25] This is basically a children's concert. [00:02:28] This is Ariana Grande. [00:02:29] She appeals to the younger set. [00:02:33] What if it was your kids, Sadiq? [00:02:35] Your kids being assembled to be identified, being carted out in body bags with nails being driven through their eye sockets and limbs being blown off. [00:02:46] Is that just part and parcel of living in a big city? [00:02:49] You've got security! [00:02:51] You've got bodyguards. [00:02:53] You're safe. [00:02:55] Are you going to be so blasé if it's your kids? [00:03:01] And now, the usual response is occurring. [00:03:08] Now everyone's trying to help. [00:03:10] God bless them. [00:03:11] I think it's wonderful that they're trying to help, offering up places to stay, offering to look for people, offering to put people in contact with other people. [00:03:18] Great! [00:03:18] I love that people do that. [00:03:20] I love it even more. [00:03:22] If they did that just a little bit ahead of time, it's one thing to respond to this kind of murderous attack. [00:03:30] It's another thing to work intelligently to prevent these things from happening. [00:03:39] I'd rather people not be brave in the face of disaster, but show a different kind of courage before disaster, the kind of courage that can prevent this kind of stuff from happening over and over and over again. [00:03:55] And tomorrow, the speeches will come. [00:03:59] We are not going to let this change our way of life. [00:04:03] We are not going to let this change who we are. [00:04:08] Lies. [00:04:10] We're not going to change. [00:04:13] Of course you are. [00:04:16] Of course you are. [00:04:18] French women can't be seen in certain areas. [00:04:22] Can't be seen. [00:04:24] They're home like they were in Saudi Arabia. [00:04:27] They don't dare walk out their houses. [00:04:33] Multicultural house arrest is real for a lot of people in Europe. [00:04:42] Of course you're going to change. [00:04:43] Of course you are. [00:04:47] That's why people do it. [00:04:48] It changes your mindset. [00:04:49] It changes your sense of security. [00:04:52] It changes your sense of safety, of identity. [00:04:56] It makes you jumpy. [00:04:58] It makes you nervous. [00:05:00] And for sure, people will stop going to concerts because of fears like this. [00:05:04] Of course people change what they do when this stuff happens. [00:05:08] That's why it happens. [00:05:09] Children in Britain not doing that well in many ways. [00:05:22] Got masses of these pedophile grooming gangs roaming around raping the children, passing them around like party favors. [00:05:31] Kids being attacked in their schools and now, if some of these reports are true, nail bombs being driven into their broken bodies. [00:05:45] And now comes the sentimentality aspect of these things. [00:05:50] People who won't lift a finger to challenge existing decisions now will change the flags on their avatars. [00:05:58] Pray for Birmingham! [00:06:02] No! [00:06:04] No. [00:06:06] Everyone offering help after the fact. === Decisions, Then and Now (02:27) === [00:06:08] Great! [00:06:09] But that's not the kind of courage that is needed at the moment. [00:06:14] I grew up in the UK. And back in the day, Europe could have had it made after two brutal world wars. [00:06:30] Nuclear weapons, mutually assured destruction. [00:06:32] Europe could have had it made. [00:06:34] Europe could have been utopia. [00:06:39] Europe could have continued to be what it was about when I was growing up, about culture and art, beauty, sculpture, movies, science, literature, philosophy. [00:06:55] That's what Europe used to be about. [00:06:59] What is it about now? [00:07:02] It's about gritting your teeth, checking your news feed, waiting for the next set of flying body parts. [00:07:08] Why? [00:07:10] Because of very specific decisions made by your leaders and supported by you in conversation. [00:07:23] The first responders are brave and save lives and thank God for them. [00:07:29] But we need the pre-responders who avoid this kind of stuff. [00:07:34] Conversations you have with people about the decisions being made. [00:07:39] Every decision that was made can be re-decided, can be undone. [00:07:46] For God's sakes, stop being passive. [00:07:51] Nothing is inevitable. [00:07:58] I know there are difficult topics to talk about. [00:08:01] I know people might look at you funny. [00:08:03] You might be criticized. [00:08:06] You might be ostracized. [00:08:08] You might be rejected. [00:08:09] You might get into some social trouble. [00:08:18] But British people, and not just British people, It's a choice. [00:08:27] It's a very stark choice. [00:08:29] It's easier choices than your forefathers had. [00:08:34] Do you want to be popular?
