| I ended up immersing myself in the sea of ignorant snark known as The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. | |
| And boy, it gave me some thoughts that I would like to share with you. | |
| So the piece was on Benghazi and Jon Stewart was pointing out that it was a good get! | |
| That the Obama administration had attempted to divert the media's attention and the public's attention away from the massive failures in foreign policy, the arming of al-Qaeda militants, and the abandoning of Americans to die in an escalating security disaster, partly brought about by Obama's Signals to Muammar Gaddafi that he was going to let him abdicate, which caused Gaddafi to withdraw his troops from Benghazi, which opened things up for terrorists. | |
| The hiring of al-Qaeda to protect American diplomats and so on, all a complete mess. | |
| And to divert this into some internet video was the plan. | |
| So it is an important story. | |
| It underlines the degree to which... | |
| Lying, incompetence, malfeasance, treason are running like blood from a guillotine stand through the rivers of all world politics, but in this case American politics. | |
| So, Jon Stewart got all kinds of high and mighty and snarkily outraged, which is kind of a contradiction, about the degree to which the right-wing media, Fox Media and so on, were outraged. | |
| about the lies of Benghazi that came out of Obama and Hillary Clinton, but not That the right-wing media was outraged about the lies that came out of Bush Jr., and Cheney, and Rumsfeld, and Colin Powell about the lead-up to the war in Iraq. | |
| So, let me help Jon Stewart out just a little bit. | |
| I think this will be very helpful. | |
| Let me help Jon Stewart out just a little bit. | |
| Let me also help out you if you find this stuff to be absolutely outrageous. | |
| It's really, really important to understand this. | |
| Okay. | |
| Let me help you out. | |
| It's partisan politics. | |
| What that means is the Republicans will defend Republicans and attack Democrats. | |
| See how that works? | |
| Democrats will defend Democrats and will attack Republicans. | |
| Democrats, whose leadership seems to produce a pretty much Lucille Ball chocolate conveyor belt rotation phalanx of sexual predators, will say, somehow, that the Republicans are disrespectful to women. | |
| Republicans will talk about the Democrats' failure of foreign policy without ever talking about their own failures of foreign policy. | |
| Do you know where else you might see this kind of behavior? | |
| It's really, really important to get this through your head. | |
| Where else you might see this behavior is In sports teams and sports arenas, you know, the people on the blue side, they cheer for the blue team and they want the blue team to win. | |
| The people on the red side, they want the red team to win and they cheer for the red team, even though it's just costumes. | |
| Do you understand? | |
| You see how that works? | |
| It's really, really important to understand. | |
| Now, when Jon Stewart sees fit, To rake the Republicans through the coals for attacking Democrats for the same things that Republicans did, but to a worse degree, he is exactly doing the same thing. | |
| Because where was Jon Stewart's outrage when, let's say, the Democrats were doing horrifying things, were doing illegal things, were doing anti-constitutional things? | |
| Well, that doesn't really show up so much. | |
| So he's being as partisan as a socialist, as an admitted socialist, as a left-winger. | |
| He's being as partisan as those he claims to criticize. | |
| This is how it works. | |
| Do you understand? | |
| Ethics, moral standards, principles were all invented by sociopaths to catch the conscience of people who actually have a conscience and then control them with it. | |
| Ethics are invented as remote control devices for good people by evil people. | |
| Right? | |
| You understand? | |
| It's an IR blaster, which makes you do things like a puppet, which people without a conscience, i.e. | |
| the sociopaths at the top of society, don't have to do. | |
| Therefore, it's wrong for you to counterfeit. | |
| But it's really excellent financial policy for the governments to counterfeit through central banks. | |
| It's wrong, you see? | |
| It's so wrong for you to steal. | |
| Ah! | |
| Taxation is virtue. | |
| It's the foundation of civilization. | |
| It's absolutely illegal for you to sign a contract on someone else's behalf and profit from passing along a debt to them. | |
| Ah! | |
| But the national debt is the result of democracy in action. | |
| You see how this works? | |
| You make up a moral rule. | |
| That moral rule is only ever for people who care about moral rules and they're invented by people who don't give a rat's ass about moral rules. | |
| I mean, where's the anti-war left once the left-wing president got into power? | |
| They found something else to do. | |
| They started to occupy Wall Street, where strangely enough, no one seems to have had an occupation. | |
| Where was the left-wingers' outrage, say, during the Bosnian conflict under Clinton? | |
| Just astounding. | |
| The international courts were going to try Milosevic for the deaths of 800 people. | |
| Amnesty International reported that the NATO bombings resulted in the unnecessary deaths of 500 civilians, pretty close to Milosevic's total. | |
| And these 500 civilian deaths occurred because NATO did not obey the laws of war, the rules of war. | |
| In other words, they created the ultimate... | |
| Repetition, which is a war crime. | |
| So Tony Blair went on television and says, oh yes, you see, we targeted a television station and bombed it. | |
| Well, this is a clear violation of the rules of war, because you're not allowed to target media, you're only allowed to target military. | |
| So he went on the air, he's recorded openly admitting that NATO committed a war crime. | |
| Where is the left's outrage about that? | |
| Well, it's not there. | |
| Of course not. | |
| Bill Clinton himself was an ally and openly supported the activities of Islamic militants and drug runners who'd openly filmed themselves beheading Christians in Eastern Europe. | |
| It's natural. | |
| It's inevitable. | |
| Ideology is the opposite of philosophy. | |
| Philosophy is curiosity, which guides its inquiry according to universal principles. | |
| Ideology is a prior prejudice that seeks out an echo chamber of reaffirming information, which is why people who are Fox News viewers who are on the right, they tend to go to Fox News, and people who are on the left go to Huffington Post and so on. | |
| They're looking for an echo chamber to reinforce The nonsense that they already believe. | |
| See, something that is true doesn't need reinforcement. | |
| I don't need to read physics journals every morning to believe in gravity again because it's happening to my jowls and my middle-aged man boobs as we speak. | |
| So that which is true does not need constant reinforcement. | |
| That which is prejudicial requires constant reinforcement, which is why people who believe in false things tend to cluster together and reinforce each other. | |
| They prop each other up like dawn drunkards. | |
| So yes, it is inevitable. | |
| It is inevitable that people on the left will support and champion people on the left while ignoring the very same crimes on the left that they attack people on the right for, and the exact opposite will happen. | |
| Adding to this is only subtracting from the intelligence of the species. |
