Skeptoid: Bad Skepticism

Brian Dunning announces his new live presentation, "Bad Skepticism," a free event for the first three shows where attendees cover only travel costs. Organized by Skeptoid Media, this program requires a minimum of 50 participants to examine significant errors made by skeptics and flawed explanations for famous phenomena, including urban legends. Dunning aims to refine the show before broader release, inviting interested groups to email brian@skeptoid.com to secure spots once listings appear on the calendar at skeptoid.com. Ultimately, this initiative seeks to improve skeptical discourse through direct audience engagement and iterative feedback. [Automatically generated summary]

Introducing Bad Skepticism 00:01:15
Hello, this is Brian Dunning from the Skeptoid podcast.
Today I've got some good news for a few hundred lucky people.
I have a new live presentation called Bad Skepticism.
It talks about some of the huge mistakes skeptics have made, some terrible but popular so-called skeptical explanations for famous phenomena.
It's a lot of fun, covers a lot of ground, a lot of stories and urban legends you've heard of.
Best of all, it's packed with great lessons for students and for people in business in any industry.
And I'm giving it away free.
Skeptoid Media is waiving the fee for the first three live shows.
Anywhere, just cover the travel costs.
As soon as you see three listings for bad skepticism on the live shows calendar at skeptoid.com, you'll know the three free ones are taken.
So act fast if you want one for your group.
Minimum 50 attendees.
We're doing this so we can refine the show and make it as good as it can be for all the other audiences thereafter.
Email me at brian at skeptoid.com and let's have some fun and learn some lessons from bad skepticism.
Until then, you're listening to Skeptoid.
I'm Brian Dunning from skeptoid.com.
