TRUMP TEARS DOWN THE WHITE HOUSE - IT'S OUTRAGEOUS OR IS IT?

The left is freaking out about Trump's privately funded changes to the White House. While at the same time approving the Schumer Shutdown and taxpayer-funded pastry cooking classes in Haiti for male prostitutes. I wish I were kidding.    @LyndaMick @RogueRecap See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Well, hello and welcome to The Rogue Recap.
I am Linda McLaughlin, your host.
Please follow us at Linda Mick at Rogue Recap on X. We're going to do a quick one tonight on something fun.
And it's called How Dumb Are the Democrats and the Rhinos and the people who just have, you know, Trump derangement syndrome, which sadly is a very real thing.
I used to say it like as a joke, like, oh, you have TDS.
And now I'm like, no, you actually have TDS.
Like this should be categorized as a real thing.
So this week, in addition to the left being upset that the president is trying to clean up the streets in Portland from the violent Antifa groups, while he's trying to keep Washington, D.C. clean, as he continues to work on Memphis, as he is now looking forward to the streets of California and San Francisco in particular, because they have such a ridiculous drug problem.
And it just seems to be a heroin and fentanyl takeover on those streets with tons and tons of homeless and people just using needles and drugs openly all day long in broad daylight.
They just don't care.
And in the midst of all this, you know, the president is meeting with world leaders and dealing with these really, really dumb left-wing party advocates for things that have nothing to do with helping America during this Schumer shutdown.
And one of the things that people are freaking out about is the fact that the president is doing construction on the White House.
And one of the people that spoke out against the president was Hillary Clinton, which I find kind of rich because for those of you who don't remember, she stole like almost $100,000 worth of furniture from the White House when her and Bill left and had to return it all.
I don't know why you would want furniture that's been used a thousand times anyway, but we'll put it to the side for a hot second.
So she said, it's the people's house.
You can't do this and blah, blah, blah.
It's just utter and complete nonsense.
And so, you know, the White House put out a ton of information about what is happening to the ballroom as well as, you know, the East Wing and what they're doing.
And part of what he did was he listed, you know, over the last hundred years, how many presidents have done various things to the White House.
And he goes back to 1902 and I'll just list off some of the things that have been done to the White House.
And I want you to note the following items that I'm listing to you, unless I state otherwise, are paid for by American taxpayer dollars.
So in 1902, Theodore Roosevelt built the West Wing.
Okay.
In 1909, President Taft added the first oval office during the West Wing expansion.
In 1933, Franklin Delano Roosevelt added a second floor to the West Wing.
And in 1934, he relocated the Oval Office to where it sits currently, completed the East Wing, and built an indoor swimming pool.
In 1948, President Truman began completely gutting and rebuilding the White House interior, and he only kept the exterior walls during that construction.
In 1970, Nixon converted FDR's pool into a press briefing room.
In 1973, he added a bowling alley into the basement.
In 2009, President Obama upgraded the tennis court into a full basketball court.
Now in 2025, here's where the exception comes.
President Trump, on his own dime, with his own money, has broken ground.
He is building a new grand ballroom.
He's modernizing the wing, and he's privately funding the entire project.
So while all of these other presidents have made far more extensive changes to the White House and far more expansive construction projects, all on your dime, this president is working on two areas.
He just finished the Rose Garden as well, just modernizing, cleaning it up, putting in new pavement, et cetera, gutters, so on and so forth.
But all of it done on his own time.
And people are losing their minds.
What are you so upset about?
Why are you so angry?
You know, when Jackie Kennedy was redoing the White House back in the day, they did a whole documentary on JFK and what he was doing and why he was doing it and how exciting it all was and why they were making these changes and so on and so forth.
But what's interesting about that is they did not, they did not end up airing and going through the changes because of the assassination of JFK.
But my point in pointing this out was they thought it was so great they made an entire documentary about it.
And then you look at these people and they're freaking out.
I was looking at a report from CNN in 2010 and there's these two reporters that are talking on CNN.
One of them actually goes to the White House.
She's got the construction, you know, hard hat on.
They were doing a $376 million White House renovation during Obama's administration.
Not only were they not outraged, they were so happy, they're smiling and they're laughing during the segment.
And they're there doing firsthand footage to show you them breaking ground.
I'm like, what is different?
There's only one thing different, and it's who's sitting in the White House.
Now, while they're very, very upset about this president using his own money to fund changes to the White House that will make the White House much better, much more structurally sound, much cleaner, updated, all the things, they have no problem spending your money.
So while the government is shut down and the Democrats continue to do stupid things like filibuster on the floor, stay up all night reading poetry on the Senate floor, it's absurd.
There are hundreds of thousands of government employees that aren't getting paid.
And the left seems to think that's fine.
That's not upsetting.
And the reason that they won't come to the table to find mutual ground is because of a few items.
Let's just list them off for fun.
Number one, they want free health care for illegals.
They want the funding restored for NPR and PBS.
Why?
Why should we be funding NPR and PBS?
They want to revoke the monies that we have allocated for rural hospitals, which we desperately need.
They want to put money back into climate and DEI funding, but not for us, for foreign nations.
And they want to continue the Biden-Obama care subsidies.
Why?
Why would we want any of that?
What does that do for the American people?
You want to allocate funds for DEI because of what?
Why are we doing this?
And then here's some more things if we want to get into like specifics.
And I wish that I was kidding.
Like I wish that I was being exaggerative or ridiculous about what I'm talking about.
But these are actual demands from the left that they want in the CR, the continued resolution.
Okay.
$3 million allocated for circumcisions and vasectomies in Zambia.
$833,000 for transgender people in Nepal.
$4.2 million for LGBTQ people in the Western Balkans and Uganda.
$3.6 million for pastry cooking classes and dance focus groups for male prostitutes in Haiti.
Did you hear what I just said?
Let me say it again.
$3.6 million for pastry cooking classes and dance focus groups for male prostitutes in Haiti.
What the hell are we talking about?
You're telling me that male prostitutes in Haiti are interested in pastry cooking classes?
These are the issues that they feel so deeply connected to and want to devote their time to in Haiti, a third world nation?
$500,000 for electric buses in Rwanda.
$6 million for media organizations for the Palestinians.
$300,000 for a pride parade in Lesotho.
$882,000 for social media and mentorship in Serbia.
So that's just a few items from their list of demands.
Can you explain to me why anybody would think any of what I just said is a good idea?
Why on earth do you think it's people, I mean, people are freaking.
They are apoplectic over President Trump working on the White House.
It is so ridiculous.
And the problem is they know that the average person is not aware of the fact that most presidents make changes to the White House, drastic changes.
Most presidents go in and it's not just like they're changing pictures.
They're changing the flow of the home.
I mean, think about that.
Every single president before President Trump was doing this, but because it's President Trump, it becomes a national story.
And not only is it a national story, but they neglect to specify that he is not taking taxpayer funding to do this.
He's doing it on his own time.
He's got private funding to make this happen.
Why?
I mean, that doesn't even make sense.
So these are the types of things that we're really trying to get people to understand.
When you hear the left freaking out that changes are being made to the White House, that this is the people's house, that we don't have a right.
What are you talking about?
He has every right.
But what they're not telling you is how they want to spend close to $4 million to teach a male prostitute in Haiti how to make pastries.
Don't we have enough problems here?
We're about to lose funding to our SNAP and food programs for hundreds of thousands of children all over the country.
Which one of these asshole Democrats wants to tell one of these little kiddos that they're not going to eat tonight because they want their money to give to a male prostitute in Haiti?
Or because they want Obamacare subsidies?
Or because they want to make sure that they have funding for a program that's been discontinued by President Trump?
There is such a dichotomy.
There's such a divide where it's, you know, good for thee and not me, right?
They're not feeling what everybody else is feeling.
They're not going through what everybody else is going through.
But I am so sick and tired of this incredibly fake outrage about things that are not true.
How about you be upset because you are asking the American taxpayer to give a million dollars to transgender people in Nepal?
We got veterans homeless on the street.
We got thousands of kids waiting in foster care trying to get adopted.
We got people who can't pay their mortgage and can't put food on the table for their families.
And this is what they're doing with your money.
And the issue is they've gotten away with it for so dang long and they just don't know what it is to hear no.
So now they're hearing no.
Now the Republicans are standing strong.
They're saying to these idiots, come and pass a clean CR that you've passed 13 times previously, some of which under Biden, just come and do this, enough.
They won't do it.
They want to stand outside on the Capitol steps and feign outrage and act like they're being so wronged.
They are wrong.
They are the problem.
If you can look at a list of Democrat demands of what they want included in this bill, you would look at your family member and you would say, this is ridiculous.
I had no idea.
That's what I'm trying to tell you.
They want to take your money and literally put it into other countries to help them achieve things that have nothing to do with the well-being of the average American person.
Absolutely nothing.
And why do they want to do that?
What are they getting out of it?
There's the golden question.
You answer that and you can make it stop.
I know I'd love to hear it, so if you think of it, please let us know.
This is the Rogue Recap.
I am Linda McLaughlin.
Thank you for joining us tonight.
We'll see you here tomorrow.
Please be safe out there.
