I believe D.C. had its first murder.
What have we learned?
We learned that Washington, D.C., our nation's capital, had per capita, the highest homicide rate of any country on the face of the earth with 41 per 100,000 people.
The next highest is 16 per 100,000 people.
And we're talking about countries like Baghdad and El Salvador and Mexico City and so on and so forth.
And so President Trump says enough of the death, enough of the dying, and successfully goes out and makes the streets of D.C. safer again.
And you're getting nothing but anger, rage, insanity from the left.
Let me play the mayor of Chicago.
Now, just as a matter of history, since Obama's been president, it shocked me.
You know, he's from Chicago, and we could only find two.
Maybe we found a slight reference a third time to the murder rate in Chicago.
I mean, you could predict with pinpoint accuracy on any given weekend how many people are going to be shot, shot and killed this weekend.
Six murdered, shot and killed, you know, 23 others shot and severely injured.
You could predict with pinpoint accuracy this is going to happen.
And not one politician, Democratic politician has lifted a finger to keep the people of Chicago safe.
And what is the response of the mayor of Chicago?
He's asked five separate times to answer a question.
He's armed with Liberal Joe.
I give Liberal Joe a little credit today.
If he'd accept more federal funding for police, listen to the duck, dodge, and weave here.
Would you also like to get federal funding to help put 5,000 more cops on the street in Chicago?
Would that help drive down crime?
Well, look, policing by itself is not the full strategy.
I understand.
Would 5,000 more police officers on the street in Chicago be helpful to go along with all of those social programs that a lot of cities are engaging in and having success with?
Well, look, here's the best way I can put it, Joe, is that in the 90s when I was in high school, we had 3,000 more police officers and we had 900 people being murdered every single year in Chicago.
It's just not policing alone.
Do you believe that the streets of Chicago would be safer if there were more uniformed police officers on the streets of Chicago?
I believe the city of Chicago and cities across America would be safer if we actually had, you know, affordable housing.
Look, that's not the question I asked.
My question was, and I just need a yes or a no.
Do you believe the streets of Chicago would be safer if you got all of those other extraordinary programs put back into place, which do have a history of being successful?
If that's complemented by having 5,000 more cops on the streets of Chicago.
I don't believe that we should narrow it down to just police officers, John, what I'm saying.
Would an additional 5,000 cops on the streets in Chicago help complement those programs to make Chicago safer?
Look, we are working hard to make sure that our police department is fully supported.
I don't believe that just simply putting out an arbitrary number around police officers is the answer.
Would 5,000 cops help or not help?
It's an easy answer.
Yes, police help.
But if you're part of this Thief fund, dismantle, no bail law, reimagine the police, send in social worker mentality, you're never going to admit that on any show.
I mean, it's obvious.
It's simple, basic math and common sense.
A greater police presence.
Rudy Giuliani, New York City, was able to transform New York City from an Adam Schiffole into a city that was safe and secure again, from nearly 3,000 murders a year down to 300.
That's how dramatic policing became in New York City.
Now they've gone backwards.
And here's that nitwick governor, J.B. Pritzker, who thinks he's going to be president.
He's not.
Here's him telling Trump, don't come to Chicago.
Earlier today in the Oval Office, Donald Trump looked at the assembled cameras and asked for me personally to say, Mr. President, can you do us the honor of protecting our city?
Instead, I say, Mr. President, do not come to Chicago.
You are neither wanted here nor needed here.
Donald Trump wants to use the military to occupy a U.S. city, punish his dissidents, and score political points.
And then you have a Washington, D.C. carjacker.
I can't even agree.
This was on Grabian, I guess, one of the news sites.
They interview a carjacker, says he's been in and out of jail six times.
This is what you get when you coddle criminals.
The whole purpose is, you know, eliminating this idiotic no-bail law mentality is you're allowing people back out on the street.
We went through yesterday all of the misdemeanors this idiot, you know, Marxist Kami Mondani wants to decriminalize in New York City, including third, second-degree sexual assault.
This guy's out of his mind and legalized prostitution.
That's going to be great for New York City.
Good luck to everybody in New York City.
Anyway, that is the mindset.
Here's the carjacker.
One man wanted in connection with an armed carjacking in Maryland told us that, why are you sending me back to jail?
I won't even be there very long.
The judges, then you're going to say we're going to put him on a three-day hold.
Then once the three-day hold is up, Antonio never shows up.
I'd have been over D.C. Jail six times for the same one.
They never show up.
D.C. Tail has to release me.
They release me.
It's the same thing every fucking time.
The same thing every time.
Every time.
Anyway, joining us now is Congressman Chip Roy, by the way.
He's currently running for the role of Attorney General in what will be an open seat in the great state of Texas to talk about D.C., the federalization of law enforcement and President Trump bringing in the National Guard to protect not only D.C., but he's now pledging to protect 19 other cities where the people in those cities don't have basic law and order and safety and security.
I argue a prerequisite to pursue happiness in America.
Congressman, how are you?
Welcome aboard.
So you're ready to leave D.C., I see.
Well, I mean, what I'd say is it's about time to come back and come to Texas for a lot of the reasons you're talking about, because while D.C. is front and center because the president is doing a great job demonstrating what law and order can actually do to restore sanity and security, Texas is under its own assault with George Soros, DAs, and judges in Austin and San Antonio and Dallas and Houston.
We've got our own crime problems, obviously border issues that the president's also addressing.
But look, this is a real issue in D.C., Sean.
I mean, the fact of the matter is we had Rand Paul's staffer who was stabbed a couple of years ago.
Henry Quear, I think, was carjacked or was robbed getting out of a car.
And Ron Estes, his intern, was murdered, literally gunned down just this year.
Two Israeli, if I'm remembering correctly, right, embassy staffers were shot to death in public.
It's real.
It's not made up.
You know, these guys are trying to hide behind ridiculous data.
But the fact is, under President Trump's actions, which, by the way, the constitutionalist, it's clearly constitutional and illegal for him to exercise authority as the Home Rule Act even contemplated.
So he's doing exactly what he should do for our nation's capital to secure it.
Robbery's down, carjacking's down, car thefts are down, property crime's down, violent crime is down.
We just need more of that happening in more of our cities across the country.
And that's one of the reasons I feel called to get back home to Texas to be the attorney general and work with the great law enforcement here.
I'm a former federal prosecutor, former first assistant attorney general.
And I just lived through the Kerrville floods in Texas where I work closely with law enforcement and just so honored by their work and efforts.
And I want to join them and come back to Texas.
But look, I'm not going anywhere.
I'm still in Congress for at least 16 more months, and we got a lot more fighting to do.
It's inexplicable to me that these mayors and these governors are so adamant that they don't want the assistance and help.
I mean, you heard Brandon Johnson, the mayor of Chicago, you know, he couldn't even answer a basic fundamental question.
If you had 5,000 more cops, would that save lives for the people in Chicago?
The answer is obviously yes.
It's not a tough question.
It's a pretty easy question to answer.
And yet he refused to do so.
What does that tell you?
Well, it demonstrates the game.
They don't care.
They actually don't want to get to that level of security.
And besides, by the way, the cops would be necessary and important.
But here's a couple of big variables.
Number one, you got to find individuals who would be great cops to add 5,000 to the streets of Chicago.
And you got to pay them well.
You got to make sure you're training them.
And number two, you got to have judges that will do the right thing and DAs that will do the right thing and convict and put these guys in jail.
And I think, look, we can all talk about how we handle over-criminalization or over-incarceration.
But what we have to do is have, and you said it best, you do not have the ability to pursue happiness.
You cannot live free if you're not secure.
And one of the basic foundation functions of government is to secure our communities, secure our streets.
And clearly, these massive blue cities, not just Chicago, again, we fight this all the time right here in Austin, Texas, Sean.
You know, they were one of the leading efforts to try to undermine our ability to recruit cops.
Remember, they took away funding from the police force in Austin back here in 2020.
Greg Kassar, who's now in Congress, is on the city council.
They took away all that money, which hurt our recruiting ability and hurt our police academy.
So it's everywhere.
We got to fight it everywhere.
And God bless President Trump for leading that with example in our nation's capital.
So the NYPD commissioner, Jessica Tisch, told Tam Bondi, the Attorney General, that New York City crime is under control.
What she didn't tell the Attorney General is only months earlier, an NYPD commander was punished for, quote, cooking the books on crime stats.
We now have a full investigation, and there's been multiple reports in the Washington Examiner and elsewhere how D.C., the crime capital of any country on the face of this earth, a capital city of any country, they've been accused of cooking the books also.
So I guess this is their way of pretending that crime isn't really happening when it's happening big time.
That's right.
And look, our good mutual friend Jim Jordan, the chairman of the Judiciary Committee, I think we're going to have some good efforts here this fall to try to highlight more of this, make sure that we're putting out materials and reports and hopefully having hearings to demonstrate what they're doing with the data and misrepresenting the truth.
When you've got individuals in these cities that are stepping up and saying, hey, you know, we want security, people, as people say with red hats, i.e., you know, make America great and the hats.
These are things that are, I think, having the actual truth getting out in the face of Democrats trying to cover it up.
And this is everything that they're trying to do is cover up everything.
They wanted to cover up Hunter Biden.
You and I've talked about that many times before.
They wanted to cover up all that they did with respect to the Russia hoax.
They want to cover up all that they were doing with respect to election fraud and what they were doing mail-in ballots.
They want to cover up the politicization of our redistricting, right?
They hate that Texas is doing what it's doing because we're no longer unilaterally disarming.
And they want to cover up the fact they've been hiding crime and hiding what's been happening to real people.
And all in the name of their entire woke agenda, DEI gone awry, critical race theory gone awry.
And now it's resulted in real people dying, not just because of the crime on the streets, but wide open borders.
People like, as you know, Jocelyn Ungray, who lost her life and so many different Americans, Rachel Morin and others, because of their open border policies.
They don't care about security.
They don't care about sovereignty.
They don't care about ensuring that we have safe streets.
They just want to advance the radical agenda for power.

Here's what John Lott wrote in the New York Post, and he talked about, for example, you know, who's benefiting from the president's crackdown on crime.
And he points out that Maryland Governor Westmore, Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb, and other Democrats howling that Trump's intervention is stoking racial division.
And then he points out the facts in this case.
And he says a National Institute for Criminal Justice Reform analysis of D.C. homicides between 2019 and 2021 found about 96% of victims were African-American.
And African-Americans suffered disproportionately in other crime categories as well.
And Donald Trump is stepping in to save lives.
It's very similar to what Rudy Giuliani, what I watched him do in real time when he was the mayor of New York City.
Last word.
Yeah, certainly.
I mean, Giuliani and the, you know, broken windows policy, trying to clean up the streets, make it safe.
People all try to turn that all into race-based politics.
But now that is all flipping on its head.
You have black Americans, Hispanic Americans who are flocking to President Trump and Republicans who believe in security, who believe in freedom, and believe in allowing people to achieve the American dream by making sure that those things are in place.
That is one of the other reasons that motivates me to run for Attorney General of Texas.
We must be secure if we want to be free.
We must be able to stand up and fight and defend our communities and our homes from the radical progressives who want to take it away.
And whether you're talking about the march of Islamists and Sharia law in Texas, whether you're talking about open borders or whether you're talking about George Soros, DAs, and prosecutors, you need people who are willing to stand up and fight.
So God bless President Trump for doing it in D.C.
We need to do more in Congress this fall.
And I hope to do more as Attorney General in a year and a half.

They announced U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's arrest of a known MS-13 gang member, human trafficker, wife feeder, and child predator, Kilmar Abrego Garcia.
And today, ICE law enforcement arrested him and are processing him for deportation.
In 2019, Princess George's County Police Gang Unit validated Abrego Garcia as a member of MS-13.
When he was arrested, he was found with rolls of cash and drugs with two other members of MS-13.
Is that a guy you want moving in next to you?
Yes or no?
I'm asking, is that a guy you want moving in next to you or not?
This is Prince George's County.
It's hardly a conservative county.
I want to know, was it proven in court?
When he was arrested, he was found with rolls of cash, drugs, and with two other members of MS-13.

According to court filings, Kilmar Abrego Garcia also solicited new photographs of a minor.

Where is the proof?
The proof is in the court filings.
What part of this are you not aware of?
Jennifer Vasquez, Garcia's wife, petitioned for an order of protection against him.
She claimed he punched her, scratched her, ripped off her shirt, and bruised her.
That's his own wife.
Why don't you talk to his wife about that?
Ask her why she's not.
She already filed this in court under threat of perjury.
Charges.
Why did she?
It doesn't matter.
You know, if we had this guy on video, you know, punching this woman in the face, you still would try to try to fight back against it.
Here's the bottom line.
I'm going to make it very, very simple for you.
Because the reality is, is that this guy doesn't respect our laws, our borders, our sovereignty.
He's not a Maryland man.
They have determined he's an MS-13 gang member with all these violations that I mentioned to you, and you don't care.
Now, I care because I care about law and order and safety and security.
And if you're going to come into this country, you've got to come in legally.
If you come into this country, we need to do a background check.
If you're a member of MS-13, you're not going to be allowed into the country.
If you're a white beater, you should not be allowed into the country.
If you're soliciting pictures of minors, you should not be allowed into the country.
Now, whether or not you want this proven in a court of law, but I would say that illegal immigrants don't have constitutional rights because they're not in the country legally.
Now, if he wants to self-deport, he could have self-deported, but he didn't.
But, Christy, no, President Trump is not going to allow this illegal alien, your friend, the Maryland man, an MS-13 gang member, human trafficker, serial domestic abuser, child predator, to terrorize American citizens any longer.
That's what our government is telling us.
You choose to ignore all of the allegations by Prince George's County, by the Department of Homeland Security, and law enforcement.
I choose to believe them.
That's your choice.
But sorry, he's going back whether you like it or not.

I think the sad part about everything that just happened on that call, and there are so many of them, but if we saw some sort of equilibrium from the left for our own people, I might be able to say it's just heartfelt.
They just care.
They want everybody to have a safe space or they want everybody to be heard, but they don't.
They don't care about any of the Americans that have lost their children and their loved ones at the hands of illegal immigrants.
They don't give a rip.
They only care about the ability to politicize something and make a statement.
Chris Van Holland should be ashamed of himself.
He is repulsive.
I mean, it's really gross.
How many times have I pointed out on this program that neither Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, May Orkas ever called any of the victims that were murdered or raped or victims of other violent crime because of the unvetted illegals they allowed into the country?
When the Democratic Party as a whole refused to stand to honor the family of Lake and Riley and the family of Jocelyn Nungari, and they sat on their hands and these families lost their children.
In the case of Jocelyn Nungari, she's 12 years old, brutally raped and murdered.
In the case of Lake and Riley, nursing student out on a jog, and these families will never see their loved ones again.
And you can't get up off your ass and applaud those families and understand something has gone terribly wrong in this country because of the tens of millions of unvetted illegal immigrants you allowed into this country.
Sorry, I support the rule of law on this.
It's basic.
But not only that, I mean, you have these elected officials saying due process for Kilmar.
I'm like, there is no due process for Kilmar.
He's here illegally.

What's on your mind today?
Well, you've been talking about the border, and that liberal brought it up too, but you've been talking about it.
Now, being in law enforcement and working criminal interdiction, we've seen a big decrease in drugs coming across the border and across our major highways, I should say.
They've kind of seemed to be going back to planes and boats and drugs washing up on islands and different things like that.
So they're kind of going back to the Columbian drug trafficking days.
And that's all because of Trump shutting down the border.
I started his first time in office, and we went through the same thing.
And the cartel started warehousing drugs, and the prices of drugs on the streets went up.
And then Biden came in and the market just flooded, and it was just everywhere.
And every other car was carrying drugs.
And now we're back to, you know, Slim Piggins, which is good because overdoses are going down.
Crimes are going down.
Drugs dealers can't get drugs because of the border being shut down.
And we've seen, as far as the illegals, a lot more going west than coming east.
They're kind of, I don't know if they're self-supporting, but they're definitely.
They're going to sanctuary states like California.
Gavin can have them all.
Exactly.
Nutty Newsome wants them.
He can have them.
You know, the amazing thing about Nutty Newsome is, you know, the quality of life in California has deteriorated to such a level where, you know, people defecating in the streets.
You have these drug dens all over the state of California.
You have the highest property taxes, sales taxes, income taxes, the sixth highest corporate tax.
And because of the illegals, they're still running a massive, you know, tens of billions of dollars in a budget deficit.
I mean, it's like you have to screw up.
No wonder people are leaving that state in droves.
And they have the worst schools in the country.
One of the worst schools systems in the country.
One of the worst standardized scores in the country.
My free state of Florida, no income tax, low gas taxes, low sales taxes.
The number one school system in the country.
Number one.
Year in and year out.
Texas and Florida have a lot in common when that comes to that.
And now I'm in Mississippi.
It's a different story.
They're about 20 years behind everybody else, but they're getting there.
Well, they'll get there.
Mississippi is a good state.
It is.
Good people, good state.
