Sir Dell a verdict with Ted Cruz now, wherever you get your podcasts.
All right, news roundup information overload hour, 800-941 Sean, if you want to be a part of the program.
So we get the news today that the CPI, consumer price index numbers, inflation indicators, now the highest number since Joe Biden has been president, 40 plus year high yet again.
Remember back in December, Joe said, Oh, it's peaked.
Before that, they were claiming, no, no, no, inflation is just transitory.
Uh no, not the case at all whatsoever.
Uh anyway, and and they've come up with a talking point.
First, let's go to CNBC's reaction to the inflation rate.
When I look at this report, I don't see any relief anywhere.
We even before we got to this 9.1%, there had been some sectors that were behaving a little bit better.
I look at rents going up.
I didn't see any relief in apparel.
There was some hope, uh, folks, that maybe with the inventory that Courtney Reagan's been talking about at some of the department stores that you might see some relief in apparel.
Uh, and Kamala Harris reflecting the the party line.
Oh, this inflation report doesn't reflect the recent drop in gas prices, which has been fairly minimal anyway.
Listen.
Uh, before I begin, I will address this month's CPI report.
There is no question that we still have work to do.
But it is important to note that these numbers do not fully reflect the recent drop in gas prices.
Average national gas prices have fallen every day for nearly 30 days.
Since mid-June, prices are down 40 cents a gallon.
Fighting inflation is one of our administration's top economic priorities, which is why we have taken action to lower the cost of living for Americans.
Millions of Americans.
Now, if you look at the estimates, if you commute to work in your own car, you're paying an additional on average $2,000 a year just in gasoline prices alone.
Uh the this recent CPI surge is now costing the average American singular, roughly $3,400 in yearly income.
Now for families in which both parents work, the loss income soars to $6,800 accord according to EJ Antoni, fellow uh researcher at the Heritage Foundation.
None of it is any good.
Stephen Moore is with us, a m former member of the Trump Economic Recovery uh task force, author of Trump Enomics inside the America First Plan to revive our economy.
He also has an executive report out and summary out uh about issues that we're gonna get to in a second, how the Biden administration has nobody in there that has any real life business experience.
I'm sure Mayor Pete is at the top of the list.
Anyway, uh Steve Moore, what's your reaction to today's disastrous number, the the latest disastrous number?
Sean, I'm I'm aghast.
You know, uh, do you know what the inflation rate was, Sean, when Trump left office?
You know what I'm saying?
1.4%.
Yeah, one point four.
I mean, how do you do that?
I wouldn't have thought it was easy to do.
I thought you were testing me.
I get I get an A plus.
Keep going.
Most people don't know that because it's hard to remember back, you know, it was only four, fifteen, sixteen months ago.
You know, how do you go from one point four percent to nine point one percent in fifteen months?
I mean, I wouldn't have thought it was possible um to screw up things that rapidly.
Uh, you are right, uh, Sean, to call this a tax.
That's exactly what inflation is, and it is the cruelest tax.
It is the cruelest tax of all because it affects the people at the bottom the most.
And what really troubles me is, you know, one of the things we're proud of, as you know, I worked with an economic advisor for Trump, and and I didn't always agree with him, but I agreed with him 90% of the time on the economy.
And we were able to raise uh real incomes in less than four years by six thousand five hundred dollars.
That's a that's a huge gain in income in in just three or four years.
I think all of that has basically been erased already by Biden because of this surge in the inflation rate, which is which is causing month after month after month Americans to lose their paychecks are shrinking.
Let's put it like that.
Everybody's paycheck is shrinking because of this Biden inflation.
And one other quick thing, Sean as we're speaking and as these horrible numbers are coming out on inflation, right now Chucky Schumer and Joe Biden and unfortunately Joe Manchin are planning a middle class tax increase and more spending.
Yeah and more another five hundred billion to trillion dollars of spending that's like that's like you know pouring kerosene on a forest fire.
It's pretty unbelievable.
You know I I know my audience is getting used to this but it this is crushing the poor in this country the middle class in this country people on fixed incomes in this country and now two thirds of Americans regardless of what in income level they're at they're living paycheck to paycheck.
They're barely getting by I I live in an area that is a majority probably upper middle class somewhere in there parts of it are just middle class some are a little lower middle class.
And you can't believe the local food bank Steve a friend of mine you know works there.
They open one day a week and the line of cars is down the block, around the block, down the other block and down three other blocks um and these are people that you know are driving nice cars.
Now repossessing repossession of cars is now hitting an an all time high in in the past number of years.
I would assume now home foreclosures are probably following behind this with the inflation rate as they try to raise interest rates I would assume job losses are going to go through the roof as well am I wrong?
You know that's my big worry right now is that you and I are old enough to remember when Reagan came in you know the last time we had inflation this high I think under Carter it hit twelve percent and it was gut wrenching with to wrench that uh you know inflation out of the system it took Reagan you know he did it pretty quickly about 14 months with with the help of Paul Volker it took him nearly two years real let's be honest.
It took him nearly two years to pull us out of that ditch yeah and once he did once we got out of the dish the economy boomed so this is this is going to be hard getting out of this ditch that that Biden has put us in.
And uh I I'm just so frustrated because I really believe right now uh uh Sean that if Donald Trump were still president the American economy would be booming are you kidding me we have we have you know basically COVID over we got people you know back at work we got people go going back to movie theaters and restaurants Steve we'd be energy independent he wouldn't be over in the Middle East kissing the ass of the Crown Prince and OPEC to produce more oil.
Well you know that was one of the things we're most proud of the month that Trump left office we were a net for the first time in year and my lifetime Sean we were exporting oil and gas and coal and now we've completely cut back on our production.
We estimate by the way we'd be producing about three to four million more barrels of oil a day a day if Trump were still president.
Think of what that would mean for gas prices.
And I and I have to repeat and if we finish the Keystone pipeline we'd be getting 9000 barrels of Canadian oil a day.
That's right.
So when Kamala Harris says oh the gas prices falling by 40 cents a gallon over the last three weeks or so she's right about that but guess what?
When Trump left office 250 a gallon it's still like four nine I hate to tell you you're wrong.
It was two thirty nine a gallon.
239 okay and now it's like four eighty nine so it's still double what it was when so this is hardly a a cause for celebration and you're right people at the bottom are suffering hugely which is kind of cruelly ironic because all the left talks about is you know we're going to get rid of income inequality.
Under Trump everybody's vote rose on that rising tide.
Everybody did better now everybody's doing worse.
Let's go back and look at for example two consecutive quarters of of negative economic growth, and you are by definition in a recession.
Uh the first quarter of this year, what was it?
I think we contracted minus one point eight percent recently revised.
Uh now the Atlanta Fed is predicting another contraction for the second quarter of about you know minus one point two percent.
Uh, would that officially put us in a recession?
Yeah, I've been saying for you know a number of weeks now that uh that we are uh in a so what I call a soft recession right now.
And what worries me is when we get numbers like this, Sean, uh it's gonna be it's gonna be tough.
There will be job losses.
Uh there are going to be you know business bankruptcies.
Incidentally, look at the new index that came out for the National Federation of Independent Businesses, which is a survey of two thousand businesses.
Uh small business confidence has has rarely been lower than it is today.
And it brings me back to that crazy package.
The Democrats want that tax increase you're talking about.
You know who's gonna pay it?
Small businesses.
By the way, what people don't know as businesses, you know this, they don't pay taxes.
They pass it on to the consumer.
When it costs more to transport goods to stores, that money gets passed on to we the people, the consumers.
Uh the the that's just the way economics works.
Let me ask you, based on a survey that you were involved in uh of the top sixty-two officials in the Biden administration, starting with the president himself and cabinet members and regulatory officials and White House advisers.
You found that the on average the business experience of Biden appointees is only two point four years.
Sixty-two percent of appointees that are dealing with economic policy, regulation, commerce, energy, finance, they have no business experience at all.
Only one in eight has quote what we would describe as extensive business experience.
The median years of business experience is zero, your study found.
Tell us.
It's it's unbelievable, and this is part of the explanation.
There's nobody in charge in this White House, no one who knows anything about business.
I mean, Pete Butaj, come on.
He was in charge of the supply chain crisis.
He doesn't know anything about business.
You've got an energy secretary in Jennifer Granholm, who knows nothing about energy.
You've got a health secretary who's not a doctor.
I mean, I could go on and on.
The point is that the left hates business, right?
They hate business.
They see businesses as just cash registers for their big government programs.
And it shows that that you know, you can't as as uh Reagan used to say, you can't have jobs without businesses.
Yeah, this assault against business really start but it's not just ideological.
That's the point of our study.
I mean, obviously they're wrong with their left-wing ideology.
It's also a problem with the Biden administration, it's just sheer competence.
They're they're wouldn't you agree, Sean?
They're just completely incompetent in everything that they do.

All right, more with Steve Moore, who was a member of President Trump's Economic Recovery Task Force on today's disastrous inflation numbers.
The obvious answer for inflation and for the high cost of energy is to go back to the policies that were working.
That would be energy independence, and you're correct.
When Donald Trump left office, America was for the first time in 75 years a net exporter of energy.
Um we have more opportunity to get so rich rather than negotiate with Iran and Saudi Arabia and Russia and Venezuela and OPEC and you know, every other country that hates us in between, we have more domestic energy supplies with natural gas, oil and coal that could sustain this country alone for hundreds of years.
But imagine if we were to become a net exporter, for example, of natural gas and get it to our European, uh Western European allies, our NATO allies, uh Vladimir Putin would be hurt.
Uh he'd be the one that wouldn't be able to fund this war in Ukraine as he's fighting it.
So one of the great lies of Joe Biden that he says over and over and over again is I'm doing everything I can to bring gas prices up.
I mean, how many times have you heard him say that, uh, Sean?
You know, scores of times.
Wait a minute.
He's actually everything.
He's doing everything he can to keep gas prices high.
And when you look at what's happening, you're right.
We have here's the n here are the numbers.
400 years worth of coal, 300 years worth of natural gas, and 250 years worth of oil with existing technology.
We should be drilling, we should be mining, we should be using all of our energy.
It's not just good for the economy, it's good for workers, it's good for our national security.
By the way, OPEC, we Donald Trump broke the basketball pack.
We don't do anything so much oil.
OPEC didn't matter anymore.
At one point, I think a barrel of oil was below 20 bucks a gallon.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Well, it went down to below 60.
It was one half of what it is today, the the barrel of oil, and because we were producing so much of it.
Natural gas.
Sean, explain to me why the left is against natural gas.
Natural gas actually reduces carbon emissions.
It's a clean burning gas.
That's correct.
It is.
And so is nuclear power.
Why Sean, why are they against nuclear power?
If you're really concerned about climate change, we should be built building new.
So now we're going to follow the failed model of Germany and other European countries And become given to environmental extremists, the climate alarmist cult, and become dependent on countries that hate us for our the lifeblood of our economy.
Why?
So they can hold us hostage the way Putin is holding Europe hostage?
Great great idea, Joe.
Yeah, so the two countries you know what two countries are produ are using the most coal right now?
Germany and China.
And in India, sir.
Those countries we should be and by the way, we have the cleanest coal in the world.
We have coal in West Virginia, we have coal in Wyoming, we got coal in Pennsylvania, Ohio.
I grew up in Illinois.
We're a co why aren't we producing our coal?
They've you know the oh God, I mean, China right now is building scores and scores of coal plants.
Do you think President Xi cares about climate change?
Uh remember the the Paris Climate Accords recognizes China and India as developing nations.
We're the only idiots that pay, you know, billions of dollars.
Well, what was that state thing that Donald Trump used to say that the rest of the world is laughing behind our back?
Uh he's not wrong and he's not wrong.
Uh though I think the guy with the mean tweets, I think I'll take him.
Uh appreciate you being with us, Steve Moore, 800 941 Sean, if you want to be a part of the program.
Quick break right back.
Your calls on the other side, straight ahead.
Last big government.
This is the Sean Hannity Show.
All right, 25 to the top of the hour, final half hour of the program today.
Let's get to our busy phones.
Roy is in the great state of Georgia.
Roy, how are you?
Glad you called.
Thanks for being with us.
I'm doing good, Sean.
Thanks for taking the call.
Um, I heard the interview you had, well, not you, but uh Joe Pags last week with uh Congresswoman Boebert, and she sounded very energetic.
Um she was wanting to get things done.
And my question to you is, or get your opinion, what kind of power do you think the uh Republicans are gonna wield when they take over in January?
I mean, their uh their first few actions or courses of actions are gonna speak volumes of what's gonna happen over the next two years.
Look, what what I like, and Kevin McCarthy has confirmed this, he confirmed it on Hannity last night, is Republicans are gonna make written commitments to we, you, the American people, that if elected, kind of like nineteen ninety-four, they will they will do these things.
And that means that every Republican that signs that document we will hold accountable to to vote that way.
And look, but the problem is let's say we even win the House, win the Senate.
Um we don't we're not gonna have you know the ability to override a presidential veto.
So Joe Biden will still be president.
That's why it's a two-part process.
But we'll get a good indication of whether they truly are committed to the promises they're going to be making us in writing, and then the next step is they've got to follow through and show us they'll do it.
The other thing where they will have a lot of power is is they now become the head of these committees, and I'd like to investigate, for example, Hunter Biden.
I'd like to investigate the riots in the summer of 2020.
I'd like to investigate why the January 6th committee didn't look, you know, only made a one-sided presentation.
You know, well, for example, I don't know whether Cassidy Hutchinson as a hearsay witness was telling the truth or not.
I have no I have no ability to ascertain that, but they would.
They could bring in the Secret Service uh officials, uh officers that were there the day that they were driving Trump, and she claimed somebody told her that uh Donald Trump lurched for the steering wheel.
Okay, did that happen?
If that's the case, they should have asked her, I think, as a follow-up, why did you then go work for Donald Trump post his presidency in his Washington, D.C. office?
Um I would, for example, you have a conflict in testimony.
Eric Hirschman, Trump's lawyer, says it was his handwriting on a particular document from that day, and she claims it was hers.
I can't, I don't know the difference, but handwriting experts probably could tell in about three minutes, and they they don't bring in that testimony.
Um I would I I would be looking into the origins of the Wuhan virus.
I'd be looking at a whole variety of investigations that I think should be coming.
Merrick Garland, a dual justice system.
You know, why is he only looking at one riot and ignoring five hundred and seventy-four other riots.
Why is he not enforcing the law about intimidation and harassment of Supreme Court justices?
That these are all issues to me that I think Republicans would then have the ability to show that they're going to hold government accountable, but do it in a fair way.
Don't do it the way the Democrats do it.
Yeah, I you know, I I didn't want them to do the uh uh uh the Democrat version of uh justice.
But um there needs to be some accountability, uh myorcus on the border, Garland with uh failure to enforce laws, uh Janet Yellen for admitting that they screwed up our economy.
I mean, those people need to be held accountable, and if they can be impeached, let's let's do it.
Um there's a lot of power in terms of the the party in power investigated tools in the agenda.
Do you see the Democrats use it as a weapon?
You know, that's what Robert Mueller was all about, that's what you know, two impeachment hearings were about regarding Trump.
Um and and by the way, Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, we know Joe Biden lied when he said repeatedly that he had no never had a single discussion with his son Hunter about his foreign business dealings.
Now we know that's not true, because we have pictures of Hunter Biden, his foreign business associates and Joe Biden, and we have enough details in the laptop from hell that prove that Joe benefited financially from it.
Uh if it was Donald Trump and Don Jr. and Eric Trump, Avanka Trump, I guarantee you they would be impeaching, prosecuting, going after in every way imaginable.
So I think Republicans, they they need to hold, you know, the the they need to hold them up to their own standards.
And there's a lot of fertile ground here.
You know, how is it Joe Biden is aiding and embetting law breaking?
Why is he giving preferential treatment to illegal immigrants?
Why is he processing them and not enforcing the laws?
Why is he giving them free phones?
Why is he giving them free transportation?
Why are we subject to a vaccine mandate and we're subject to COVID testing, but not illegal immigrants?
So there's a there's a lot of things that they'll be able to do, but the most important to me is the agenda that they're gonna lay out energy independence, law and order, uh an agenda that that guarantees our kids get choice in education.
There's so many things that they could do to better this country and do it very quickly.
Securing the border act.
All of this can be done, but it will take two election cycles to really make it the reality it needs to be.
We're we're stuck now.
You got two and a half years worth worth of climate alarmist religious cultism running the country, and all the predictable failure that will accompany that, all the pain that will accompany that.
Beyond that, I hope it wakes enough Americans up to the fact and makes them hip enough to the fact that these policies are disastrous.
They're hurting our fellow Americans.
It's that to me it's that simple.
Uh anyway, appreciate the call.
Thank you for being with us.
Uh let's go to Kentucky, Tyler.
Tyler, how are you?
Hey, Mr. Hannity.
Doing well.
What's going on?
Uh I was gonna start with a different topic, but uh on that call earlier about the the uh WNBA player.
I I agree, but you it's not sticking up for her, it's sticking up against communism.
You know, you did it during the Cold War.
It wasn't about one man, it's about the whole movement.
You stop communism on all grounds.
But uh let me tell you, if I if I'm president and uh any American abroad is treated this unfairly, I'm going to bat for my fellow American, and I'm going to bat hard.
And that's all there is to it.
The only thing these two-bit dictators like these punks like Putin uh understand his strength.
There's a reason Putin annexed Crimea when Obama and Biden were president and vice president.
There's a reason he invaded Ukraine when Biden was president, and the there's a reason he didn't do a damn thing when Trump was president.
And the reason is strength and an unpredictability.
They saw Trump wipe out the caliphate.
They saw what he did to Solomon, they saw what he did to Baghdadian associates.
They saw him wipe out the Al Qaeda leader in Yemen.
So they knew he would act, and then he had this kind of you know the that that that unknown little fear factor that, man, this guy's crazy enough, he might do it.
That's actually a good thing.
That's a strength from from my vantage point.
Um, he didn't launch nuclear weapons as so many in the media Democrats predicted he was capable of.
No, he kept America safe.
He forced China into paying uh tariffs on and and have free and fair trade.
He did a lot of great things.
He NATO pay their fair share.
He challenged everybody on everything, and he never stopped working for us to make you know to stop allowing our country to be abused by every other foreign country in the world, because we are.
We're stupid as a country, not you, not me.
No, I get it.
I agree.
And uh, you know, I just want to mention too, yesterday you were talking about uh party affiliations, and especially with youth and all the crap that they're seeing today and how they're kind of getting skewered.
I mean, I'm 28.
When I was 18, I went to the Marine Corps.
As soon as I got out, I became a cop.
I was a cop for the past six years.
And uh unfortunately I just left law enforcement uh for the betterment of my family and kids, but uh I guess what I'm getting at with that was the uh how could you have any affiliation with anybody with so much distrust and you see these blatantly gross uh behaviors amongst these politicians with no accountability and and things just getting strained at you with zero repercussions, you know?
I I don't understand the why no one's being held accountable.
Because that's unfortunately the double standard we live in.
You know, I mean, why look at Beric Garland?
Look at the January 6th committee.
Where's the committee into the the looking into the riots in the summer of 2020?
Go there.
Anyway, appreciate the call.
California Carolyn next, Sean Hannity Show.
What's up, Carolyn?
How are you?
Hey, Sean, thanks for taking my call.
A long time listener.
I'm a longtime listener, and I value your opinion.
And I want to ask you what your opinion is on we know that Russia is squeezing Poland and those other countries by shit cl you know, closing down the supply chain, right?
So what would happen if we here in America opened up all of our resources, all of it, and we supplied those countries with what they needed that would cut Putin out.
But answer your own qu answer your own question.
What would happen?
America, it would it would do our our economy would boom.
We would make millions, if not billions of dollars.
No, we'd make we'd make hundreds of billions of dollars.
You know, every single day Vladimir Putin, because of his him producing energy in Russia domestically there is making a billion dollars a day profit.
We would make so much more.
Why can't we do that?
We can.
Why can't if we need the right leaders, we can.
You're right.
We have hundreds of years supply of oil, gas, and coal.
Hundreds and hundreds of years.
And and we would be able to supply our Western European allies, and we would be a reliable partner.
Uh we'd create very high-paying career jobs for for tens of thousands, maybe even a million Americans, and we could get so filthy rich we wouldn't have to tax a single American, but we're too dumb to do it as a as a nation.
Our politicians are too stupid uh to see that it's not gonna make a world b uh a bit of difference whether you import oil uh from foreign countries that hate us or produce it domestically.
If anything, we do it better, we do it cheaper, we do it cleaner.
Right.
And so what would happen if we stopped shipping uh that oil to China?
I mean, if China heard if if if Biden heard there was a province on the moon, a Chinese province on the moon, he'd be sending oil there.
So we gotta cut off the communist country of China.
So by do by supplying these other countries that are that are being squeezed, that would do a lot for our image worldwide.
Now, the new Green Deal people would scream, scream, scream, but we are in a dire situation that calls for drastic measures here at home and by the way, it's not even that, it's just simple common sense.
Why why would you negotiate to make Iran rich again and Venezuela rich again and the Saudis Richer and OPEC Nations richer and Russia richer when we could be benefiting from our own domestic energy supplies.
Why would you give me one good reasons why it's it's okay to import oil and gas, but it's not okay to produce it uh domestically.
It's nuts.
It's it's nuts.
And what how how can we remedy that?
Is it that the American people have to raise their voices and their demands?
You remedy that by electing politicians that will support the policies that you and I are talking about.
Let's hope and pray that this next election that happens and it happens in 2024.
Because I'm deputizing Carolyn, everybody's gotta be a spoke in the wheel.
Everybody's gotta do their part.
I hope people feel a sense of urgency.
I hope people tell all their friends.
And I don't think it's a hard sell anymore.
Because we see what these policies, the damage they've inflicted on all of us.
It's a disaster.
Carolyn, appreciate you being with us.
Thank you.
800 941 Sean.
Mark is in New York.
Mark, how are you?
Glad you called.
Hey there, Sean, doing well.
Thank you so much for everything that you do uh every day.
I really appreciate you.
Well, thank you for giving me this this job.
Absolutely.
Hey, I want to make a uh quick comment or two and then get to my main point.
Uh so yesterday I was listening to you talk to a guy from Georgia, and uh, you were basically encouraging the Georgians to get their act together, get out and support the Republicans, and and then you commented, oh, yeah, well, the Dems are lying about Herschel Walker down there.
And I'm and I'm thinking, Sean, say it isn't so.
The Democrats lying.
So look at the case.
No, there's a full-on smear campaign against Herschel, and look, I'm I'm worried about Georgia because there is no unity down there.
There's too big a divide.
They need a unity.
They need their own, and I I don't know Kemp, I don't know Rapsenberger.
I don't know any of these players.
I don't know them at all.
But I'm telling you, they need to get their act together, and they better unify, and they better get the people in the Republican Party unified, because if they don't, they're gonna get their asses kicked in a year that they should win.
That's my advice to them.
Um it's too important an election.
I think we lost Mark.
Anyway, Mark, thank you, buddy.
Appreciate the call.
All right, that's gonna wrap things up for today.
