Sean Hannity Show - Ben Sasse Goes Berserk Aired: 2018-10-16 Duration: 02:07 === Why We Won By Default (02:07) === [00:00:00] This is an iHeart Podcast. [00:00:04] Do you think I'm right? [00:00:05] Do you agree with me most Americans don't really know what the agenda is and that this election wasn't really won on ideas? [00:00:12] It was sort of like the Republicans are, well, they're not that party. [00:00:15] They're not Obama's party. [00:00:17] Yeah, I think we mostly won by default because of how we had some good candidates, but we mostly won by default because the president has this overreaching European vision of a central government that can solve every problem. [00:00:29] It's not true. [00:00:30] The American people reject it. [00:00:32] And I'm thinking, you know what? [00:00:33] We could do a lot better. [00:00:34] And I think that the Republican Party ought to stand for those people that are out of work. [00:00:38] That's exactly. [00:00:39] Congratulations on your indictment, inductment, and being inducted into the Senate Hall of Fame there. [00:00:46] Let me disassociate myself from the indictment word. [00:00:48] I'm teasing. [00:00:49] I'm teasing. [00:00:50] Thanks. [00:00:51] Good to be on. [00:00:51] Good to have you. [00:00:52] All right, Senator. [00:00:53] Good to talk to you. [00:00:54] All the best. [00:00:54] Congratulations. [00:00:55] Thanks, John. [00:00:56] Have a good day. [00:00:57] You can explain what it is that a Republican stands for today because I don't think most people know. [00:01:01] Amen. [00:01:02] You and I have talked about your big five in the past, and I'm aligned with you on them with school choice and the border and free market health care solutions. [00:01:09] But your word agenda is exactly right. [00:01:11] Like you, I'm a limited government, small government guy. [00:01:14] Most of my lived in Washington and can't be solved here. [00:01:17] I'm glad to hear you've only been in Washington a month. [00:01:19] You still haven't been corrupted because you're still speaking out. [00:01:22] I mean, that's a very good sign for the future for you. [00:01:25] And I say that cynically, of course. [00:01:26] He ought to be voting based on the Constitution, our rule of law, and what's right, and not worrying about, you know, whatever legacy he may have as Chief Justice. [00:01:35] I agree with you. [00:01:36] And I'm frustrated as a conservative. [00:01:39] Tell me why I shouldn't be, if I shouldn't be. [00:01:41] No, you should be. [00:01:43] Why don't we just go stick with the Constitution? [00:01:47] Sean, you and I are 100% aligned in being for the Constitution. [00:01:51] All right. [00:01:51] I got to run, though, Senator. [00:01:52] Thank you for your update. [00:01:54] We appreciate it. [00:01:55] Thanks, Sean. [00:01:56] Aren't there legal challenges then that we have available to us that the president doesn't have the constitutional authority to do something? [00:02:02] Yeah, I'm with you, and we should pursue anything and everything. [00:02:05] It should be an all of the above strategy.
