Sean Hannity Show - Morning Minute: The Year Of The Insurgent Candidate Aired: 2016-04-28 Duration: 00:51 [00:00:00] This is an iHeart podcast. [00:00:04] After Tuesday's primary sweep in Maryland, Delaware, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania, Donald Trump announced that he considers himself the presumptive nominee. [00:00:12] Trump won every single county in every state on Tuesday, meaning he has now passed Mitt Romney's popular vote total and is now on a path that can see him gain more Republican votes than any presidential candidate in modern history. [00:00:25] Politico writes that Trump surged to more than 10 million votes, according to totals that include Tuesday's preliminary results across the Northeast and mid-Atlantic states. [00:00:33] Now, that's already 250,000 more than Romney earned in the entire 2012 primary season. [00:00:38] Now, the modern record-holding candidate is George W. Bush, with 10.8 million votes in 2000. [00:00:43] And Donald Trump is now positioned to easily pass that vote total. [00:00:46] Just more proof that 2016 is really the year of the insurgent candidate.
