Roosh V - Daryush Valizadeh - Babylon Road #15 - Yuma, St. Anthony's Monastery, Phoenix Aired: 2019-10-01 Duration: 26:39 [00:00:01] All right, I'm leaving San Diego and going east. [00:00:06] So Phoenix is the next stop and I have time. [00:01:41] I'm in Yuma, Arizona. [00:01:45] My beard told me to stop here. [00:01:48] So what the beard says, I follow. [00:01:52] Yuma kind of sounds like the name of a girlfriend I had in South America. [00:02:00] Hey, Yuma, it's Roosh. [00:02:01] Do you want to meet tonight for premarital sex that makes us feel good in the moment, but which impairs our long-term ability to pair bond with the opposite sex while making us cynical and jaded and even hateful of the opposite sex? [00:02:22] You do? [00:02:22] Great. [00:02:23] Okay, let's meet at 8 p.m. at our usual spot, El Cholo Gordo. [00:02:30] See you then. [00:02:39] My Yuma ex-girlfriend is more beautiful than this place. [00:02:44] It seems like they had no planning involved when they made it. [00:02:47] I couldn't even find a center to film. [00:02:50] It was just sprawl. [00:02:54] Very few buildings were bigger than two stories high. [00:03:00] It's mostly Hispanic people. [00:03:03] I don't know why the beard wanted to see this. [00:03:08] So usually during lunch, I have a picnic and I do a search for picnic tables to find a place where I can eat. [00:03:19] And I didn't know it, but I had a picnic next to a high school and I was eating and then the high school let out and a bunch of kids passed me by and some sat near me in the picnic table and the bad news is that American youth are doomed. [00:03:42] The good is that they don't have any tattoos and none of the males and females. [00:03:50] But everyone was listening to the black music. [00:03:57] You had the Hispanic youngsters saying, nigga, nigga, nigga. [00:04:04] The girls were on their phones listening to Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande. [00:04:10] So the momentum is being built in this high school for them to degrade themselves currently and when they get out. [00:04:22] Now, if you're a parent, you may not like what I'm about to say. [00:04:27] But if you send your kid to public schools, you could be insane because six hours a day you're sending them to a black box of corruption. [00:04:42] Six hours they are corrupting your kid. [00:04:44] You have no control over who your kid talks to, what music they listen to, what education they get, nothing. [00:04:52] You probably barely even know the teachers that are, quote, teaching your kid or indoctrinating your kid, giving your kid propaganda, teaching them to be gay. [00:05:03] Man, if you're a man who wants to be a parent, you have to account for homeschooling. [00:05:10] Don't even think about it. [00:05:11] Don't, I mean, unless you got good public school in a good area, which means not 80% vibrant, just public schools are gone. [00:05:27] This institution, like other institutions, have just collapsed. [00:05:31] I mean, it was so sad to see these young people, their lives haven't even gotten started yet, but it's already over. [00:05:39] Already their minds are full with tons of junk that the parents, I don't know, are the parents going to be able to remove that propaganda? [00:05:49] Do they care? [00:05:51] But you don't see the illness yet in these kids. [00:05:54] You only see, I mean, you see a bit of it, but not until after they graduate high school. [00:05:58] Will you really see it? [00:05:59] They come out as trans, they harm themselves more directly. [00:06:06] Yeah, so if you're counting on Generation Z to wake up, it's only going to be a small percentage of them. [00:06:11] The ones that are going to the average public schools, they are going to be in bad shape. [00:06:17] Also, they were very overweight too. [00:06:19] I mean, geez. [00:06:22] God have mercy on those kids. [00:06:25] They don't even know that they're succumbing to evil before they even know what evil is. [00:06:32] Well, you know, this is just another thing that I had to see. [00:06:38] So I continue going east. [00:06:42] I'm in [00:08:03] Florence, Arizona. [00:08:05] It's a dusty old town that seems to be dying. [00:08:09] A lot of shops are closed. [00:08:13] But this is the kind of town that I would want to move into. [00:08:16] I would want to move into a dying town. [00:08:20] And it's dying because people left it. [00:08:23] It's not comfortable enough. [00:08:25] It's not fun enough. [00:08:27] There's not enough money, enough sexual partners. [00:08:31] So they fleed to more worldly cities where they can have more worldly things. [00:08:42] But if you want to live in a place, you don't want all these worldly people who are just there to tempt you to put up their gay flags. [00:08:50] There were no gay flags here. [00:08:52] There is no one to virtue signal to. [00:08:56] There is no one to show status to, except the dirt. [00:09:01] That's going to be your only audience here if you want to act out. [00:09:11] If everybody wants to live in a place, I would go the opposite way. [00:09:18] If everyone is going through the wide gate, well, you're just following the crowd straight to hell. [00:09:28] Yeah, here you have some weirdos, some roughnecks, but you also have some salt of the earth people who are just here because they want to live a quiet life. [00:09:41] It's very quiet here. [00:09:44] You're walking on the streets and there's nobody. [00:09:52] It's a bit dry though, a bit dry. [00:09:57] But Florence is a town that most people would skip over. [00:10:03] There's nothing interesting to take photos of, no cool sights. [00:10:07] But when it comes to living somewhere, I would start with a place like this. [00:11:10] There's a lot of cacti here. [00:11:12] They look just like the ones in the Wiley Coyote cartoons. [00:11:20] I'm in St. Anthony's monastery and my visit didn't start so well. [00:11:27] I wanted to attend the Vespers. [00:11:29] This is an evening prayer. [00:11:31] It's about two hours long, I think. [00:11:33] So I came ready to worship God there. [00:11:39] And the monk said, oh, since you're the monk I talked to said, since you're Armenian Orthodox, you have to hang out in the narthex, not in the main hall of a church. [00:11:48] And the narthex is like the hallway. [00:11:51] And I tried, but through the glass and the door, I couldn't hear or see anything. [00:11:58] And then this was, it was useless. [00:12:00] So I left. [00:12:02] I walked out and I was starting to get upset. [00:12:05] And I was like, screw this. [00:12:07] Screw everybody here. [00:12:09] Screw the Greeks. [00:12:10] I am going home. [00:12:13] And by home, I mean the next hotel that I have to stay in. [00:12:18] But then I thought, well, while I'm here, let me at least get some footage for my vlog. [00:12:25] So I walked around a bit, but as I was walking around filming, I was getting heated. [00:12:32] How dare they exclude a Christian? [00:12:36] How can they tell me that I'm not allowed to worship God like them? [00:12:41] Just because I'm in a different church, just because my beard is more full. [00:12:47] I mean, this is totally exclusionary. [00:12:50] i'm a christian and my anger is rising and rising I'm starting to hate all Greeks. [00:13:10] And then I decide, okay, that's enough filming. [00:13:12] It's time to go. [00:13:13] I'm not going to tell anybody to come here. [00:13:15] And then I'm starting to walk out. [00:13:16] And who do I run into but the same monk who said that I can't go in? [00:13:22] And I'm like, I hope he says something to me. [00:13:24] And he did. [00:13:26] He said, how was the Vespers? [00:13:29] I said, well, it was hard to enjoy it through the wall and the glass. [00:13:34] So I left. [00:13:38] And I said, you know, I've been to a lot of monasteries. [00:13:42] I've been to now four. [00:13:43] This is the first time I was excluded. [00:13:46] That I was not allowed to worship God. [00:13:50] And he kind of said, well, you're allowed to worship God, just not there. [00:13:54] It didn't make things better. [00:13:57] And I was thinking, man, I was heated. [00:14:00] I started arguing with the monk in the monastery. [00:14:03] I was like telling him, no, I was excluded. [00:14:05] This is really hurtful stuff, man. [00:14:07] You didn't, I mean, whatever rules you have, I abide by them. [00:14:11] I obey your rules, but it was, it felt to me wrong. [00:14:17] And he was starting to get into the theological basis of why this is and the church histories. [00:14:22] I don't want to hear it. [00:14:24] And I'm just, in respect to him, I was just, you know, trying not to blow my top. [00:14:35] And then this really old man starts walking down the path. [00:14:42] He had to be helped by another monk. [00:14:45] And I turned to him. [00:14:49] And I look at the monk I was talking to, and he said, that is Elder Ephraim. [00:14:55] This is the man, the holy man, who established 18 monasteries in the United States. [00:15:02] Spiritual father to dozens and dozens, hundreds. [00:15:07] I mean, he is destined for sainthood. [00:15:13] And I went up to him, I touched the ground, and I put my hands out. [00:15:18] He put his right hand in my palm and I kissed his hand and I received his blessing. [00:15:27] And I looked at him and he had he was really old, but he had this, it was like a high contrast glow. [00:15:37] Like he stood out like his contrast, the contrast on his skin is different than anyone else's. [00:15:44] It was high. [00:15:45] It was like a little glow to it. [00:15:50] And he was this vibrating holiness. [00:15:55] He had a shake to him. [00:15:58] And when he gave his blessing to me, I started, like, I was extremely angry because I couldn't attend the vespers in the main church hall. [00:16:08] Once he gave his blessing to me, I was overcome by just happiness. [00:16:14] I started smiling. [00:16:16] And the monk I was talking to after the elder, after we separated from the elder, the monk I was talking to was still going into the theological basis of separating the Armenian Orthodox, blah blah blah. [00:16:29] I didn't care anymore. [00:16:30] I was just in a contentful stupor. [00:16:36] I was smiling. [00:16:37] And the monk said, oh, I'm sorry. [00:16:39] I can see you're having a moment. [00:16:43] what was i angry about i've never seen a man as holy as that You just get overcome because you know he dedicated his life to Christ totally. [00:17:07] Totally. [00:17:10] Wow. [00:17:13] And me and the monk, we started talking. [00:17:18] And I said I was going to go. [00:17:19] I guess the bookstore was closed. [00:17:22] And he said, well, I can open it up. [00:17:24] And so he walked me in. [00:17:25] And then we went on to have a very lovely half an hour chat. [00:17:30] I told him, or maybe longer than that. [00:17:33] He recommended a book. [00:17:34] I don't have the, oh, I forgot the name. [00:17:37] It's a book written by Elder Ephraim. [00:17:41] And I bought an icon. [00:17:43] I was looking for the ladder of divine ascent. [00:17:47] I've been looking for this icon and I found it. [00:17:50] It is here. [00:17:52] So me and the monk talked. [00:17:56] I told him some things, some spiritual battles that I was going through. [00:18:01] We talked about different forms of grace. [00:18:05] How I was giving grace in a big boost, a big shot in the arm, but he said for other people, it's a step-by-step. [00:18:12] So I need to understand that because I don't meet a lot of people who receive the kind of grace that I have. [00:18:19] So then all my anger subsided totally. [00:18:24] I bought some books. [00:18:25] I bought something for my mom. [00:18:30] And yeah, I can walk out of here happy that I was blessed by a very, very holy man. [00:18:41] And, you know, I caught him at this time. [00:18:44] There wasn't, there was only one other man there, so it was very quiet. [00:18:48] I could absorb his essence. [00:18:52] And God bless him. [00:18:54] And God bless all the men here who have dedicated their lives to Jesus Christ. [00:19:02] Don't just be forewarned. [00:19:04] If you're not Eastern Orthodox, you have to hang out in the Northex. [00:19:09] But hopefully, if God wills it, there will still be opportunities for you to experience the holiness that this place has. [00:19:19] I leave here and I go to Phoenix next. [00:20:48] I'm recording this in front of the matrimonial bed that only I use. [00:20:56] You know, I don't have many good things to say about Phoenix. [00:21:00] It's just not interesting. [00:21:03] I went to the downtown area. [00:21:05] I had over an hour to film. [00:21:07] There was nothing really to film except ugly parking garages. [00:21:11] The buildings were ugly. [00:21:12] The worst architecture I've seen in the United States. [00:21:17] The only thing saving this city are the cactuses, the cacti. [00:21:24] It's just bland all around. [00:21:27] Phoenix makes Columbus, Ohio full of culture. [00:21:33] Columbus, wow, they had a lot of stuff going compared to this. [00:21:37] So very, it's like the generic place. [00:21:41] Phoenix is the generic place west of the Mississippi. [00:21:46] I tried to like it. [00:21:48] I mean, I really did, but unfortunately, I could not. [00:21:53] Phoenix had nothing to offer me. [00:21:57] The goods and services were bland. [00:22:00] I got an herbal tea for $5 today and I looked at the tea and there was a cherry on top, a floating cherry in a tea. [00:22:09] They don't even know how to make tea here. [00:22:14] There were a lot of strip clubs here, non-stop. [00:22:19] And there were a lot of advertisements for personal injury lawyers. [00:22:25] Because when you slip and fall in the Walmart, you don't know who to call. [00:22:28] And oh, well, there's advertisements everywhere. [00:22:31] So you can, because they care about your personal injury. [00:22:35] They will get top dollar from whatever thing happened to you. [00:22:43] The women here, I can talk about that. [00:22:46] They are dressed very inappropriately. [00:22:49] They show a lot of skin here because it's too hot. [00:22:53] You know, let's not talk about the women of old who covered everything before air conditioning. [00:23:00] But Phoenix girls, they need to show everything. [00:23:04] Mid-riffs everywhere. [00:23:06] They also have that, I'm eternally going to the gym look. [00:23:12] You're right, you're not going to the gym. [00:23:15] You know, she's just going to, or she's just going to go to body build her butt, to butt build. [00:23:20] So the girl, she has to show you her big butt. [00:23:24] All right. [00:23:28] Things got a little bit more interesting in Scottsdale. [00:23:31] I went to Scottsdale and there they had this artsy fartsy old town. [00:23:35] Old town, if you bring a European here and say, this is Old Town, they would laugh in your face because everything is new. [00:23:43] There was nothing old about it except the women. [00:23:47] There were a lot of cougars there. [00:23:48] Cougars with the plastic surgery with the fake lips. [00:23:55] You know, trying to pretend that they are young. [00:23:58] So it's a little bit sad. [00:24:01] You know, I mean, as you see, I have a lot of white hair in my beard. [00:24:05] I'm getting older. [00:24:07] Every year I'm getting older, more white hair comes. [00:24:10] I don't deny that. [00:24:11] I don't deny human existence where I am going. [00:24:15] Six feet under soon. [00:24:18] But the women, they are making a deal with the plastic surgeon, with Satan, to look young. [00:24:26] There was an anti-aging clinic. [00:24:29] Anti-aging. [00:24:30] Yeah, you are going to reverse the hands of time. [00:24:34] The picture of Dorian Gray. [00:24:37] I was walking on the sidewalk and I caught a glimpse of a woman who was older. [00:24:42] She had the tight lip. [00:24:46] What is it called here? [00:24:47] This space, the nasolabial fold? [00:24:49] No, no, that is here. [00:24:51] So anyway, in her mustache area. [00:24:53] It was just very tight, like tighter than even a newborn baby has. [00:24:58] And she was walking with a man. [00:25:00] I hadn't seen the man yet. [00:25:01] And I thought to myself, I guarantee he's a young dude. [00:25:05] And I turned to him and sure enough, he's like 20 years younger than Granny. [00:25:11] And that's how it is. [00:25:13] These women, they deny themselves. [00:25:15] They deny who they are. [00:25:17] So they have to pretend. [00:25:18] Yeah, I'm young. [00:25:20] You know, a woman doesn't get all that plastic surgery to date a man her own age. [00:25:24] No, no, she has to be, she has to delude herself that she's not going to die and she's still beautiful like the 20-year-old girls. [00:25:32] There's quite a few of the 20-year-olds, I think, due to the universities here. [00:25:39] What else can I say about Phoenix? [00:25:41] That's it. [00:25:41] That's it. [00:25:42] I mean, there is nothing going on here except people escaping from California. [00:25:49] So you got people who left California and they're coming here. [00:25:53] They're going to Salt Lake City. [00:25:56] They are bringing, some of them are bringing their gay lifestyle, their globo homo type of lifestyle. [00:26:05] But the best thing Phoenix has going for is that there's not a lot of homeless. [00:26:08] I haven't seen a single tent here. [00:26:10] You know, if there's no tent cities, then it can't be that bad, right? [00:26:15] So, and lastly, my Phoenix event, it went well. [00:26:21] Met some interesting people and now I'm going east going to Texas. [00:26:26] So I'm pretty excited about that. [00:26:27] I have events in Dallas, Austin, and Houston. [00:26:30] If you want to join, go to Roosh.live and you can teach me about the Tex-Mex culture there. [00:26:38] So that's all I have.
