Previously on the Rubin.

Shut up.
dave rubin
Shut.
They just hate you.
unidentified
A Maduro of the United States.
Crazy or retarded.
dave rubin
I'm joining the Democrats.
stephen f lynch
Miami or Dural.
dave rubin
If Maduro gets indicted.
We'll go up to Dural.
I'm not opposed.
All right, all right, all right.
Listen, I'm Dave Rubin.
This is the Rubin Report, January 8th, 2026.
We're live streaming on Rumble, YouTube.
And local, share, subscribe, tap the notification bell and everything else.
There's a couple things we got to get out of the way right up top, some housekeeping to start the show.
First off, it looks like I'm wearing the exact same clothes as yesterday.
I am not.
This is a different t-shirt, and it is a different jacket.
It looks very similar.
I didn't realize that till we were just playing the little intro there.
But we had a rough night around here.
Justin was up all night long, so I basically slept on the floor in the kids' room.
I got, according to my ordering, I got about four hours and five minutes of sleep.
And I've been a little out of it this morning.
And I literally 10 minutes ago, 10 minutes ago, had just walked into the gym, was going to be start working out.
And then I get a text from one of my guys.
Are we doing a show today?
They've all been in here waiting for me.
It's interesting to me that you guys would wait till five minutes before the show to realize that the host wasn't in the room.
So we just did the fastest freaking rundown we have ever done.
So if you have ever wanted to see professional broadcaster Dave Rubin on the fly, this is the show you are getting today.
There's obviously a ton to talk about, mostly focused on this ICE shooting yesterday and a lot of the fallout from that, a bit about Venezuela.
And then the second half of the show will be a RubinReport.locals.com community Q ⁇ A.
And once again, I just want to reiterate, these are fresh clothes, smell good, not yesterday's clothes.
I would not do that to you good people.
Okay, so the big story that I think is now going to set off a series of stories, like it looks like we could end up in a summer of love by, you know, pretty much by January 10th of this year is the shooting yesterday that took place in Minneapolis.
So listen to this from the Department of Homeland Security.
Today, ICE officers in Minneapolis were conducting targeted operations when rioters began blocking ICE officers.
And one of these violent rioters weaponized her vehicle, attempting to run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them, an act of domestic terrorism.
An ICE officer fearing for his life, the lives of his fellow law enforcement and safety of the public, fired defensive shots.
He used his training and saved his own life and that of his fellow officers.
The alleged perpetrator was hit and is deceased.
The ICE officers who were hurt are expected to make full recoveries.
This is the direct consequence of constant attacks and demonization of our officers by sanctuary politicians who fuel and encourage rampant assaults on our law enforcement who are facing a 1,300% increase in assaults against them and an 8,000% increase in death threats.
This is an evolving situation and we will be giving the public more information as soon as it becomes available.
All right, so we're going to show you the video obviously of the full interaction as well as a slow motion version of it.
You know, there's probably about seven or eight different versions that are going around online, various people that had cameras.
But I do want to preface the entire segment here, which with something that's completely consistent with what I've been saying about the way the Democrats and the media have been treating ICE officers, which is that this is on you guys.
Congratulations.
The constant demonization, all of you guys saying that they're grabbing Abuela from the floor and bringing her out.
I think that was Jon Stewart.
And we can't find any videos of that.
Or when they're constantly saying these people should be unmasked because they're Nazis and fascists and all of these things.
And they're grabbing random people off the street and unpersoning people and unmarked vans are showing up.
Like the lie after lie after lie after lie was going to lead to something like this, which is why when I saw the video yesterday afternoon for the first time, my reaction in a weird way, you know what it was?
In a weird way, it was sort of like my reaction when Charlie got shot.
It's like shocking to see, right?
I mean, you're about to see someone get killed.
We're going to show you the video.
So it's shocking, but it's also not surprising because this is what the rhetoric does.
So here is the first video of the full interaction.
This is the main video that people are pointing to.
What the f ⁇ ?
So before I show you the slow motion version of it, you know, basically what you're seeing there is you've got ice.
They are telling people, specifically the driver of the car, who we'll have more on in just a moment, to slow down and to stop.
She does not listen to them.
And then as they are trying to approach the vehicle, she just steps on the gas.
Now, look, we'll find out a bit more about her and her motivations and intentions or anything else.
I think it's probably fair to say she didn't wake up that morning yesterday and think, I'm going to kill and, you know, I'm going to basically plow my car over an ice agent and thus this will be the last day of my life because I will be shot.
But I want you to just, because I think this is really important, the context of all of this, the temperature of the pot basically has been raised and raised and raised.
So the ice agents are feeling a huge amount of tension.
You know, there are people that are heckling them in the background.
There are people throwing snowballs at them, all of this.
They're just trying to do their job.
That ICE agent who almost got plowed over by the car, do you think he woke up and said, I'm going to shoot a protester today?
No, he wants the woman put her foot on the gas, she backs up and then goes forward.
Then he did what he had to do.
So now we'll show you the slow motion version of it.
And everyone's nitpicking every little version of it.
So there she's, they're telling her to stop, stop, stop, right?
The ice agent, there's one there.
You can see.
So the key part of this, and maybe we'll show it twice actually, for people that really want to be armchair quarterbacks.
I mean, you just have to remember, there's so many, imagine the tension that's around all of this.
Like you can be killed by a car.
So she's got a deadly weapon there.
But note, he takes the gun the second, look, the second she started going forward.
That's the key.
If there's a key quarter of a second in this thing, is that, and we can maybe do it one more time, Connor, she's backing up.
And you can see it's not until she starts moving forward that he takes the gun out.
unidentified
Watch.
dave rubin
So back up, back up, back up, back up.
Now she turns the wheel, she's going forward, and there the gun pops out.
So the idea that this guy was like, oh, she's following orders.
I'm just going to shoot her.
This is a murderer or a summary execution, which of course, and we'll get to it, the Democrats are now offering up, is just a complete lie.
But again, this is all of the people that are analyzing this, and this is what everyone does on X and it's what it's what we all do with everything, I suppose.
You know, like you got to take into account the overall tenor of the entire thing and how absolutely hostile these people have become.
They have been told repeatedly by mainstream media and their politicians, also to the backdrop of the general craziness with the Somali stuff happening and the fraud in Minnesota, in Minneapolis particularly.
Like the temperature, everyone, everyone is like a trigger hair away from things getting worse.
So now, a little bit after this happened, this shooting and the death of the driver, okay, then Jacob Fry, who, as you know, is the mayor of Minneapolis, and this guy is just an incredibly pandering everything that's wrong with a lefty progressive.
He encapsulates it just perfectly.
Listen to him and let's talk about lowering the rhetoric.
jacob frey
To ICE, get the f out of Minneapolis.
We do not want you here.
Your stated reason for being in this city is to create some kind of safety and you are doing exactly the opposite.
People are being hurt.
Families are being ripped apart.
Long-term Minneapolis residents that have contributed so greatly to our city, to our culture, to our economy are being terrorized.
And now somebody is dead.
That's on you.
And it's also on you to leave.
It's on you to make sure that further damage, further loss of life and injury is not done.
We're going to be working towards justice as quickly as we possibly can right now.
And justice is what we've all got to get.
dave rubin
Okay, so you can see they want to turn this into the next BLM situation.
Like they've got something right now and they are going to run with it.
Okay, and get the F out of the city.
unidentified
Okay.
dave rubin
Okay, tough guy.
You know, this thing where he says, you know, their stated reasons.
It's like, dude, their stated reasons is to get illegals out.
Why do you want to defend people who are illegally in America?
When he's talking about, again, they're ripping apart families and long-term residents.
That might be true.
As a matter of fact, I'm sure to some extent that is true, that some of the illegals, whether they're gang members or just generic run-of-the-mill illegals.
Do some of them have family members here?
unidentified
Yeah.
dave rubin
Does that mean they can stay?
No.
Do some of them have, what was it, long-term residences?
unidentified
Yeah.
dave rubin
Have some of them been here probably for 15 years and maybe are otherwise beyond the illegality of coming here?
Are they somewhat functioning citizens?
Perhaps doesn't mean they should be able to stay here.
ICE is doing their job and you guys are the ones who have run around and said, get them out of masks and demonize them and they're Nazis and anything else.
I want to bring up, you know, on the Actual Friends podcast, the other show that I do with Dr. Drew and Sage Steel and Jillian Michaels.
We recorded it yesterday, basically as this was breaking.
It'll air tomorrow.
But Dr. Drew brought up the supremacy clause, which I've mentioned on the show a couple of times before because, you know, I talk about states' rights all the times and that the Constitution was laid out so that virtually everything that was going to have to do with your day-to-day life would take place by your, via, vis-a-vis your state.
And the federal government wanted to make sure the states weren't at war.
It would deal with foreign policy and borders and that much and that type of thing.
But I want to read the supremacy clause in the Constitution to you because this is super interesting as it pertains to sanctuary cities.
This clause establishes that the U.S. Constitution, valid federal laws enacted under it, and the treaties are the supreme law of the land.
And here's the key part.
When federal and state law conflict, federal law preempts, overrides state law.
It has resolved weaknesses in the Articles of Confederation where federal actions often lack binding authority over the states and ensures national uniformity on areas of federal authority.
So I think you know why I'm reading you that.
I'm reading you that because the very nature of a sanctuary city, that a city in the United States will protect illegals is unconstitutional.
We have allowed it to happen, right?
It's happened in a tremendous amount of these blue cities, including Minneapolis, obviously, where he's doubling down on it, and including New York City, where the guy who has now been sworn in, the communist jihadist, even before he was sworn in, was saying he was going to continue the sanctuary city policies.
Like in a functional, sane society, if you're elected to something and before you've sworn in, you're literally, quite literally breaking your oath of office, although he did swear on a Korean, that would be a problem to me.
But okay, we're past that point in New York.
This is what we are up against.
They're actually, and they're always talking about constitutional crises, everything's a constitutional crisis.
This is an actual constitutional crisis because I just read the supremacy clause and immigration is left to the federal government.
And these mayors, and in some cases, like in Illinois with Pritzker, these governors are deciding to try to have their state policy supersede federal policy, which is against the Constitution.
So could someone make a call to somebody about that?
Could somebody tell somebody about that?
Now, of course, the other part of this is that there's this massive scale.
It's not just the immigration issue that they're dealing with, the illegal immigration issue and ICE that's happening, largely focused in Minnesota.
It's that there's also now this huge scandal around Tim Walz and these Somali daycare centers and a giant money laundering operation that was sending all this money back to Somalia.
And clearly, clearly, Tim Walz himself is implicated in it in some way, which is now why just two days ago he announced he's not running for re-election.
This is a guy who, had it gone the other way and it could have, would be vice president right now.
And now he's not even running for re-election in his own state.
So what is he doing?
He's just ramping up the craziness.
Here he is threatening to mobilize the National Guard against ICE.
tim walz
Order to prepare the Minnesota National Guard.
We have soldiers in training and prepared to be deployed if necessary.
I remind you, a warning order is a heads up for folks.
And these National Guard troops are our National Guard troops.
They're teachers in your community.
They're business owners.
They're construction professionals.
They are Minnesotans.
Minnesota will not allow our community to be used as a prop in a national political fight.
We will not take the bait.
We will continue to update you, Minnesota, as we get more information.
Well, I said this yesterday.
We've never been at war with our federal government.
I think in this case, that the National Guard is their main mission.
They have a dual mission.
dave rubin
All right.
So look, guys, this is a guy in crisis, right?
So now he has to ratchet up the ICE and National Guard fight here, you know, the sort of state fight versus the federal government fight, because that'll get eye off the ball on the fraud thing, right?
As long as we're talking about this shooting and the ICE agents there and everything else, he gets to skate by on all the corruption charges.
That's one part of it.
But again, I just read to you the supremacy clause.
So I would recommend that people in the Trump administration and the DOJ start really thinking about this seriously.
Maybe Pam Bondi needs to really start thinking about this.
And what do you do if you were, just forget all the players and the names and everything else?
Like if we were just a serious country, what would you do if you knew that certain mayors and governors were absolutely breaking the law, telling you they planned to continue to break the law?
And then in the case of this clown, now saying he was going to set up his Minnesota National Guard to basically fight ICE.
I mean, we used to talk about an insurrection.
Wasn't there an anniversary of a big insurrection?
Like, this seems far more insurrection-y.
Interesting, this is a little bit of a throwaway, but on Polymarket, you know, this is where they do the online betting odds.
Tim Walz, and this is for the corruption charges that he's going to be hit with.
Tim Walz charged by 7% by, say, by March 31st, about a month and a half from now.
But before 2027, almost 40% of people think he will be charged by then.
He needs, in a weird way, he needs a crisis.
Like, what does a politician usually do?
Well, you never let a crisis go to waste.
And he needs a crisis so that you don't pay attention to his own fraudulent activities related to this Somalia slush fund, although it actually ancillarily is related to illegal immigration and why ICE is there and everything else.
Here's Donald Trump on truth regarding what happened yesterday.
I have just viewed the clip of the event which took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
It is a horrible thing to watch.
The woman screaming was obviously a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing, and resisting when violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE officer who seems to have shot her in self-defense.
Based on the attached clip, it is hard to believe she is alive, but is now recovering in the hospital.
The situation is being studied in its entirety, but the reason these incidences are happening is because the radical left is threatening, assaulting, and targeting our law enforcement officers and ICE agents on a daily basis.
They are just trying to do the job of making America safe.
We need to stand by and protect our law enforcement officers from this radical left movement of violence and hate.
I mean, yeah, like that's just right.
Again, the ICE officers don't wake up and think, boy, I'm going to have to shoot somebody who's going to try to run over me with a car.
They were tasked with the job of getting illegals out of the country.
That is a legal job, and that's what they've been tasked.
And they've been demonized.
They've had the demonization through the roof, right?
We'll show you a compilation in just a second on that.
And Trump is completely right.
But the Democrats are going to use this.
They are going to call this officer a murderer.
They are going to say this is proof that the Nazis are on the street and everything else.
Because if there's a good guy in a situation, they always want to make him a bad guy.
Here is about a 50-second compilation of politicians demonizing ICE over the last couple months.
hakeem jeffries
Every single ICE agent who's engaged in this aggressive overreach, no matter what it takes, no matter how long it takes, will of course be identified.
This is not the 1930s.
unidentified
Secret police who are masked, who are intimidating, who are scaring people.
These Gestapo-like tactics.
This is Gestapo-like behavior.
tim walz
Donald Trump's modern-day Gestapo Gestapo is scooping folks up off the streets.
stephen f lynch
When you compare the old films of the Gestapo grabbing people off the streets of Poland, it does look like a Gestapo operation.
brianna keilar
You posted on social media that, quote, ICE is acting like a terrorist force.
unidentified
ICE agents.
They are coming and kidnapping and disappearing people on the streets of the United States.
But this terror campaign of having masked people rolling up in vans.
But we also have to talk about the agents themselves that are carrying this out.
If you have any decency, quit now.
dave rubin
All right, so that clown at the end right there, Maxwell Frost, that's the guy.
We've pointed him out to you a couple of times who showed up to my live show in Orlando, a thousand plus people there.
I was on stage with DeSantis and he bumrushed the stage and had to be taken out with security.
And now he's a congressman.
He was just a crazy community organizer, activist, or whatever at the time.
I think I might have said that the ICE officer was a she, but it's the woman, the driver, the 37-year-old woman, who is now dead.
The ICE officer is, do we know what condition the ICE officer is in?
He's going to make a recovery.
He's going to, okay, we're being told he'll make a full recovery.
But okay, so we could have made that compilation way longer, as you know.
And they've wanted them unmasked.
And, you know, when Pramila Chayapal, what a looker she is, like, you wouldn't want to show her to the kids.
But like, when she's implying that they're grabbing people off the streets and all of these things, it's like, why is there no video of any of that?
Oh, it's because it's not happening.
This is absolutely what you guys do with everything.
And now, if you want to see, so that's been the rhetoric for the past, let's say, six months as ICE has just gone around and do their job.
Well, now here's AOC after what happened yesterday.
unidentified
Prosecuted.
What we saw today was a criminal, a criminal, murder a woman and shoot her in the head while she was trying to escape and flee for her life.
And I think what we saw today was a manifestation of every American's worst nightmare, which is their government turning into a TRP.
Do you think you should be arrested?
dave rubin
The officer loyalty.
I think what we saw was murder today, and I think that we need, of course, she is a very, AOC is a very, very evil woman.
Look, I don't know what she believes.
Does she actually believe that?
For these people, everything is about the revolution.
So if they can, it doesn't matter if they, you know, when we show you the slow motion version of that and you see that he doesn't pull the gun out until when she's backing up, he doesn't pull out the gun.
It's when she moves forward as if she's going to hit him.
What would you do?
You watching this right now, someone was about to plow into you.
Put aside ICE, illegals, anything else.
If you were standing somewhere and someone started plowing, you know, you're in the parking lot of Target and someone puts their car forward and you're a foot away and they're about to plow into you.
You might try to jump out of the way.
But if you had a weapon, you might shoot them and you would be well within your right to do it.
The fact that she's calling him a murderer and attaching all of the other implications to that is because they want more for the revolution.
This is absolutely evil and it's completely consistent with everything else that they do.
And speaking of they, well, here is the Islamist jihadist from New York.
This morning, an ICE agent murdered a woman in Minneapolis.
Only the latest horror in a year full of cruelty.
As ICE attacks our neighbors across America, it is an attack on all of us.
New York stands with immigrants today and every day that follows.
All right, this evil, evil little jihadist, New York stands with immigrants.
It's illegal immigrants.
Illegal immigrants.
And again, Zorhan, Connor, you can put up the supremacy clause.
I don't need to read the entire thing again.
But the point is, you guys are breaking the law.
I know you swore in on the Quran instead of the Constitution or the Bible.
And I know you don't care about the Constitution.
I know you don't like the fundamental founding of our nation or any of our foundational documents.
However, you guys are actually breaking the law.
So the implication that these guys are just out there to murder, they want more of it.
There's just no way, there's simply no way around it.
I don't mean that to be hyperbolic or over the top.
They want more of it because they're lying about what these guys are doing in the first place, which is why there's no video of people being taken away in bags and Abuela being grabbed out of the kitchen and everything else.
But again, if people are here illegally, it is what it is.
RoCana, who is the one Democrat who will talk to me, although every time I have him on, I'm kind of less impressed by him.
Like, sorry, Roe, that's just the truth.
And I think it's fairly obvious when we talk.
This is what he put up.
He's congressman from Cali.
This ICE agent should be arrested and put on trial.
What is seen in this video is reckless use of power, and now a 37-year-old woman is dead.
All right, well, my message to you, RoCanna, and you're welcome to come on the show to discuss this, is, Roe, if you were in the street or in that Target parking lot that I just mentioned and somebody was two feet away from you and started driving towards you to hit you, what would you do?
And if you had a gun, like, what would you do?
You guys simply take the side of the bad guys all the time.
It is deeply disappointing that Roe, he'll at least talk to me.
Right.
I'm not even saying he's the one sane Democrat.
Betterman's the one sane one.
He'll at least talk to me.
But dude, you just, you guys, everything is about the revolution for these people.
David Marcus, who's a Fox columnist, I thought he had a good line on what happened here.
He wrote, they are going to try to crucify this officer in the name of their woke religion.
Not this time.
I don't care how many Democrat politicians irresponsibly rush to judgment.
I think that's completely right.
You can see this.
They are going to try to make it seem like this guy was a white supremacist and he was evil and we're all evil for having supported him and everything else.
Again, there's no reason to think that this ICE agent was anything other than a good citizen who is doing his job.
And in a moment, you know, again, try to imagine all, you know, they're throwing snowballs at people, which I remember back in the day, you could freaking kill somebody with the snowball.
Like the amount of times I would come in after playing with my friends and like, you know, there's just any, you get a shard of ice in there.
There could be, you know, a piece of glass or a rock.
Usually it would be a rock or a pebble that would be stuck in there.
You get hit with one of those, like the amount of times I would come home bloody from a from a snowball fight, but you have all these people throwing things at you.
They're all screaming at you.
Again, the tenor, the temperature, everything that the Democrats have done rhetoric-wise, you have someone in a car who's not listening to you.
Like it's just, it's just a perfect storm of insanity.
Here are images from Instagram now, which is, you know, these guys coordinate.
Remember, these things are coordinated and planned.
It's just like the Hamas protests.
They get out there.
They have paid protesters who are out there with placards, which is why the signs in all the cities are exactly the same.
There are NGOs involved and somebody better get on a RICO thing.
Again, Pam Bandi, you got a lot of work to do.
But here you can see ICE murderers out of our communities.
Emergency response alert.
ICE murdered woman in Minneapolis.
4 p.m. rally.
So they're going for it, guys.
They are going for it to make this the next BLM situation.
And I don't want to relitigate George Floyd or anything else, but this thing is pretty freaking clear-cut.
We've shown you the video repeatedly already.
Here's a video of protests out of Minneapolis and Seattle now.
Death to ice as they walk there with a Palestinian, although I call it Hamas flag.
Like, who do you think the good guys here?
First off, if you're chanting death to ice, I mean, that really sounds like kill ice officers.
Somebody might want a Pam Bandi.
Are you watching today?
I'll give you a little more to do.
You might want to look into that guy.
Death to ICE.
I mean, how many, which ways can you read that?
Death, pretty clear to me.
Death to ICE.
Magis was kidding about the death thing.
That's one part.
Now you can also see like the fact that the Palestinian flag is there.
You can see this.
It's just, it's all about the revolution.
So we can move on.
Oh, the Gaza war is over.
We can move these people over.
And now they'll be anti-ICE activists.
And we've done it before.
They used to be BLM people.
And then they were, I don't know, the pink hat people.
Like they just, it's just a never-ending morphing of retarded morons.
Good title for a book, The Neverending Morphing of Retarded Morons by Dave Rubin.
It'll be released in the summer of 2026.
Here is an image of a man on the top of a Waymoo in LA.
You may remember this guy.
This is what, this is obviously from a couple months ago.
We've shown you this many times.
It looks like it's right out of Mad Max, but there will just be more of this.
And if you think these people, even if, here's the, here it is, what it is.
Even if the video showed you something that it didn't show, like let's say it showed you something pretty nasty, like that the woman was actually backing up and getting out of the car and then the guy just summarily executed her, which of course this is not what happened, but I'm just trying to give you another version of it.
Let's say it really looked bad for the ICE officer.
Does that give the protesters the right to be breaking into buildings and taking over streets and burning things down and everything else?
Of course the answer to that is no.
You want to protest peacefully, fine, but the horse has left the barn on some of this stuff.
Here is a witness telling Erin Burnett over on CNN that Renee Goode, that is the name of the 37-year-old woman who is now deceased, was just trying to reverse her vehicle.
emily heller
She was totally peaceful and ICE, it seemed completely unorganized.
They didn't really know what they were doing.
They were screaming at her to move, move, move.
And then they approached her vehicle aggressively and grabbed, tried to open her door.
And then that's when she got spooked and she reversed her vehicle to turn her wheels to try to escape.
And that's when an ICE agent stepped in front of her vehicle and said, stop.
And then, I mean, she was already moving.
And then point blank shot her through her windshield in the face.
dave rubin
Erin, can I give you a little advice?
A little advice?
You know, it's interesting because you've got this woman telling a story, not the truth.
You've got her just telling a story while you've got the video being played.
Might you want to say, lady, I've got the video being played right now.
The ICE officer didn't just step in front of the car, Connor.
You want to show the slow-mo version again?
He didn't step in front of the car as if, like step in front of the car as it was moving forward.
The car is backing up and he's standing there.
They have every right.
They're closing the road or whatever they're doing.
They have every right to have that person stop.
And again, he did not pull out the gun until she started using the car as a weapon.
You can see it so freaking clearly here.
This is going to be the one second that everybody's going to have to focus on, right?
But again, even if the one second didn't prove that, it's utter chaos.
And these people are all just evil.
Let's jump over to John Miller basically saying you should move out of the way of a moving vehicle.
Well, just watch, just watch.
john miller
But it's basically simple, which is if you're confronted by a moving vehicle that could be a threat to you, get out of the way of the vehicle and don't shoot at a car.
unidentified
We saw a murder happen in our streets and a federal agent take out a U.S. citizen who wasn't doing anything except driving by and getting away from the situation.
dave rubin
Driving by and getting away from the situation, you should just move out of the way.
Like they want to make it seem so simple.
These guys have a job to do.
They don't know who's in that car.
They don't know if there are illegals in that car or whatever or if the driver is illegal or anything else.
They tried to stop the car.
That is what they are doing.
Again, they're not out there to execute people.
So the idea that you should just get out of the way of the car.
Okay, it's a fraction of a second where you have your life in your hands.
What would you do?
And then, of course, the other ladies, Aeib, whatever.
It's just like, okay, we get it.
We get it.
Here's Scott Jennings, a man who makes some sense on CNN.
scott jennings
But it strikes me that we are undergoing an epidemic of political vigilanteism right now.
Why are people showing up in vehicles in convoys, not just in Minneapolis, but all over the country in an effort to obstruct lawful federal law enforcement activities?
This is not an isolated incident.
We have had hundreds of car rammings against ICE agents all over the country.
According to DHS, this lady in this car today, along with other vehicles, had been tracking ICE agents around.
Why are people believing that they can drive their car into a federal law enforcement situation and that is an appropriate thing to do?
Political vigilanteism is being encouraged by Democratic officials like the lieutenant governor of Minnesota, Peggy Flanagan, who earlier this year told people to, quote, put your bodies on the line and Tim Walz calling these guys Gestapo all year.
What do you think happens when you radicalize a base of people above it?
dave rubin
Yeah, of course, everything he said there is right.
Good quick reminder that I had Scott Jennings on the show this week.
We've released one or two clips of it right now on Rumble and YouTube and the full thing will be up on Saturday.
The point here is, guys, that they have done this, right?
were what, a year ago, it was the Luigi Mangioni, the kid who just murdered the healthcare CEO Brian Thompson in cold blood in Times Square in New York City.
And many of them on the left made him a hero or at least wouldn't condemn it.
They're running around saying you've got to punch a Nazi.
And it's like, well, they could just label anyone a Nazi and then they can punch you or they can plow your car, their car into you, et cetera, et cetera.
So they have created the condition.
Look what happened to Charlie.
You know, I was discussing it with somebody yesterday, a friend of mine who haven't seen in a while.
We were chatting.
And it was like, what a weird freaking thing.
Like a friend of mine was assassinated.
I don't even know that I've fully even now five months later even fully wrapped my brain around that.
But what happened to Charlie?
What happened to Charlie?
Well, an activist, in this case, a trans activist who got ginned up by these very same people murdered Charlie Kirk.
And they think it's okay.
So everything that Scott Jennings just said there was completely correct.
And now they don't know what to do.
Because the other part of this is if there was a layer of the Democratic Party that was still roughly sane, they might have some adults that could calm this down.
But AOC is going to ratchet it up.
Tim Walz is going to ratchet it up.
Jasmine Crockett is going to ratchet up.
Try to picture a Democrat who won't.
Well, there's one.
Again, it's Federman.
It's wild.
Fetterman is the only one.
Give me a Democrat that will turn it the other way.
Rokana, the one guy who will talk to me for, like, he's ratcheting up.
This was not cold-blooded murder or anything else.
This is on you guys for the rhetoric that you created.
Okay, let's put that down from there.
The story obviously ain't going anywhere.
And we're going to shift over to some Venezuela updates.
But first, Mars Men.
There's a moment a lot of men experience where something feels off.
They're still functioning, still working, still getting through the day, but the drive isn't the same.
Energy dips, motivation fades, focus slips.
And because it happens slowly, it's easy to accept as normal.
But that feeling isn't just getting older.
It's what happens when men aren't supporting their bodies the way they should.
That's where Mars Men comes in.
Mars Men is designed to support healthy testosterone levels using studied ingredients.
Some men report improvements in energy, focus, confidence, and drive.
When men feel supported, it shows up everywhere in workouts, in work, and in everyday life.
Mars Men is designed to work alongside a healthy lifestyle, helping men feel more like themselves again.
For a limited time, listeners get 50% off for life and three free gifts when they use code Rubin at mengotomars.com.
That's Ruben at mengotomars.com.
Okay, so let's jump over to Venezuela.
You know, the main thing at the moment is we've got Maduro.
We'll see what happens in the courthouse in New York.
Now, we played a video yesterday.
It sounds like there'll also be some charges coming out of Florida.
We will see about all that.
So the main thing at the moment is what will happen with the kind of transitional government.
What is the U.S. involvement going to be?
Are we going to do some things with oil?
Does this basically is what really is happening here, that Iran and Russia were encroaching on Venezuela, which has the most oil reserves in the world, even more than Saudi Arabia.
And are we now pushing them away?
But the real sort of, not chaos around this, the real unknown here, obviously, is what will happen on the ground in Venezuela.
Here is Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, explaining what's going on.
unidentified
Variously, is that you're winging it, but there's no time for Venezuela going forward.
marco rubio
Yeah, I know.
They're going to say that.
I used to be a senator too.
That's what you always say when it's the other party.
The bottom line is we've gone into great detail with them about the planning.
We've described it to them.
In fact, it's not just winging it.
It's not just saying or speculating that's going to happen.
It's already happening.
Like the oil arrangement that we've made with Pay De Vesa on their sanctioned oil that they can't move.
Understand, they are not generating any revenue from their oil right now.
They can't move it unless we allow it to move because we have sanctions because we're enforcing those sanctions.
This is tremendous leverage.
We are exercising it in a positive way.
dave rubin
What I like about this is that he's basically saying, yeah, I was a senator too, and we all play politics, but this is something different.
So now, before I even comment any further, here he is laying out the three-step plan for Venezuela.
marco rubio
As we move forward, we'll describe our process, which is a three-fold process in Venezuela.
I've described it to them now.
Step one is the stabilization of the country.
We don't want it descending into chaos.
Part of that stabilization, and the reason why we understand and believe that we have the strongest leverage possible, is our quarantine.
As you've seen today, two more ships were seized.
We are in the midst right now, and in fact, about to execute on a deal to take all the oil.
They have oil that is stuck in Venezuela.
They can't move it because of our quarantine and because it's sanctioned.
We are going to take between 30 and 50 million barrels of oil.
We're going to sell it in the marketplace at market rates, not at the discounts Venezuela was getting.
That money will then be handled in such a way that we will control how it is dispersed in a way that benefits the Venezuelan people, not corruption, not the regime.
So we have a lot of leverage to move on the stabilization front.
The second phase will be a phase that we call recovery, and that is ensuring that American, Western, and other companies have access to the Venezuelan market in a way that's fair.
Also, at the same time, begin to create the process of reconciliation nationally within Venezuela so that the opposition forces can be amnestied and released from prisons or brought back to the country and begin to rebuild civil society.
And then the third phase, of course, will be one of transition.
dave rubin
Okay, look, when I tell you that this guy was born for this job, I don't know that there could be a possible better example of that, right?
He's doing this all off the cuff right there.
He's not reading anything or anything else.
And he's competent and they're laying it out very clearly, right?
So stabilization so that we will figure out what's going on with the oil.
And although we are basically going to be the custodians for this sanctioned oil, he's saying the money will go back to the people of Venezuela.
There are going to be benefits to the United States, obviously.
And the oil will not be sold at these ridiculously low rates that Venezuela was selling it in the first place.
But that he's making it very clear: we're not here to steal the oil of the people of Venezuela.
We are here to, in this stabilization phase, to get some of that money back to the people because communism, which always promises that it's for the people, is always for these people, not the rest of these people.
That's number one.
Recovery, so American companies are going to be involved.
And then the third one really was the transition.
They're going to have to figure out a government.
And is the government likely going to be a little more favorable and friendly to the United States and perhaps Western values?
Yeah.
And you might say, well, what right do we have to do that as America?
Well, we are the world's last remaining superpower.
And Donald Trump, via the Trump Doctrine, or whatever you want to call it, the updated Monroe Doctrine that we read to you the other day, has said it's not just that we are going to care about what is in our borders.
We are going to care about what's happening in our hemisphere.
And we will not allow our adversarial countries, which are basically Russia and China, to put bases in countries that are closer to us, to use their oil, et cetera, et cetera.
So it's just a new policy overall.
Here's a bit more from Donald Trump.
It was a great honor to speak with the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, who called to explain the situation of drugs and other disagreements that we have had.
I appreciated his call and tone and look forward to meeting him in the near future.
Arrangements are being made between Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the Foreign Minister of Colombia.
The meeting will take place in the White House in Washington, D.C.
Well, isn't that interesting?
What am I always talking about, guys?
The signal.
What is the signal?
What was the signal when we blew up some of the boats?
It was Maduro, stopped sending them.
And then what did Maduro do?
Instead of listening to the signal, he said, come and get me.
And Donald Trump went ahead and did it.
Well, I would say the president of Colombia is a little brighter than this guy.
And he's going, oh shit, it turns out that Maduro, who is on a military base in Venezuela, in 90 minutes, those American badass Delta Force motherfuckers were able to go in and pick him up and put them in sunglasses and get them the hell out of there.
I might want to play ball with these people.
So via peace through strength, via showing we will say things and then follow up on it, we can actually get countries that have, how would you say, been doing less than their best effort to curb drugs and crime from coming into our country.
We can get them to play ball.
This tweet, an image from the White House breaking, the Trump administration announced, oh, so let's put that, I'm doing that without a segue.
The other thing that happened, let's come back for a moment.
Let's reset.
As I said, we didn't do a full rundown on the show today.
Like that, let's talk about the food pyramid for a moment, because another good thing that's happening in this administration, I was at a much shorter.
Another good thing that's happening in this administration, of course, was the combination of MAGA and Maha Make America Healthy Again.
And that was all because Bobby Kennedy saw that Donald Trump was going to be the one who, if he could work with him and leave the Democrat Party, would allow for his life's work, which he has repeatedly said was to make America, quite literally to make America healthy again and figure out our chronic disease problem.
He knew that if Donald Trump won, he could be a part of it.
And he's doing a bang up job right now.
And now, listen, look at this tweet, an image from the White House, breaking the Trump administration announces the 2025 to 2030 dietary guidelines for Americans putting real food back at the center of health.
And hot diggity damn, who would think, put it back up for a second, who would think having, I don't know, a whole steak or a whole chicken or fresh broccoli or fresh carrots, that those things should maybe be at the top of the food pyramid, that eating whole real foods is actually good for you.
And perhaps you should eat way less processed stuff and that breads and simple carbs and things like that, which turn into sugar in your body, you should maybe eat a little bit less of those.
So we've basically flipped the freaking thing upside down, which this is kind of funny.
Bobby put this on his Twitter.
It's a South Park edit, you'll see.
unidentified
The pyramid doesn't work.
tim walz
We've already tried it.
robert f kennedy-jr
It's upside down.
unidentified
What?
robert f kennedy-jr
Sir, the pyramid is upside down.
Turn the pyramid upside down.
unidentified
Can't be serious.
dave rubin
That would put butter and fat at the top of the...
unidentified
Flip the damn food pyramid!
Get the present, young man.
Tell him, hey!
Cut some steaks with this bad.
It's just, it's just great.
dave rubin
And it's true.
I don't, you know, I usually use the big green egg when I'm making steaks or I'll do something simple on the grill, but it is true that a little butter in the pan, if you're going that route for more of a restaurant quality style steak, is the way to do it.
But they're just great.
You know, in some way, I used to do a lot of those South Park reaction videos because I never really watched it.
I was a Simpsons guy.
I couldn't deal with two animated shows, but they just nail it perfectly.
Here's Bobby Kennedy on some of the other things we've been doing wrong as it relates to all this.
robert f kennedy-jr
Any kind of healthy protein today, about 50% of the calories that our children eat are ultra-processed foods or highly refined carbohydrates, and it's literally poisoning them.
And that is the result of a food pyramid that was driven by mercantile impulses that put fruit loops at the top of the fruit pyramid.
We now have a science-based food pyramid that is based upon the most recent best science.
And it's telling people to eat proteins, eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and whole grains.
And that is going to transform the American diet.
dave rubin
Is that some Nazi shit or what?
Like all the guys, it's like basic, basic stuff, guys.
It's stuff, it's stuff that we all know.
It's stuff that, you know, I've talked a bit about my glow up, as the kids say, over the last couple of years and how I've lost weight and how I've taken better care of myself and fixed my knee through stem cells and all these things.
Like there are so many better ways to think about all of the things as it pertains to your health.
You know, I got the aura ring here.
It's not a sponsor, but it's an absolutely incredible thing where it will track your sleep, track your steps, track your calories.
It starts knowing you basically, so it can figure out when the best time you should go to sleep is, all sorts of things.
We can all start doing these things.
We can think of these things a little bit differently.
And, you know, look, in some sense, you don't need the government to tell you what to eat, right?
But it is nice to know that we have somebody in charge of some of these institutions now that are telling us truer things.
That, yeah, eating whole foods, things that our ancestors used to eat, that are not hyper-processed, that don't have all of the crazy oils in them and everything else.
And not, you know, I forget how many spoonfuls of sugar they have in just a simple can of Coke.
And by the way, in America, our sugar, our sweetener, is high fructose corns here, but it's not even real sugar, which is why you go to a restaurant.
Sometimes people order a Mexican Coke because in Mexico, at least they're getting the real sugar, not that that's so great for you.
So anyway, some good things are happening.
All right, we're going to get to a locals community QA in just a sec, but first, Tax Network USA.

All right, let's get some community questions.
Joseph is at a computer right there.
So if you're watching on locals right now, if you'd like to add a question, let's get a question also on the fly, not just these questions that you prepared for me.
Although, because we didn't do a rundown, I haven't even seen them.
Here we go.
Glenn says, What sporting events are you hoping to watch in 2026 if you get the time?
Man, you know, it's so weird.
You know, you guys know I love, love, love, love basketball.
I'm playing more basketball than ever right now.
I play on Wednesdays for three hours, six to nine.
I play Sunday mornings, nine to noon.
And now I got a Tuesday game, six to nine.
And we're going to start.
I have a full court here at the house, and we're going to start playing on Mondays.
So I'm playing more than I've probably played since college or something right now.
And I just, my knee feels great.
I just at 49, I'm in better shape than I was at 39.
And I'm going to really, as I said to you the first day back from the new year, I'm really going to just try to make my this year that I turned 50 into the best year in every possible way, whether that's physically or spiritually or emotionally or work-wise or anything else.
But anyway, as it pertains to watching, I don't watch a lot anymore.
I really don't.
I don't really watch the NBA anymore because it became so politicized.
You know, I see some highlights on Instagram or whatever here.
And again, they don't dribble anymore in basketball.
You know about this?
They just run with the ball now.
You can take 87 steps on the court.
So it's not even basketball in some ways.
Yeah, I haven't really watched much baseball in the last couple of years.
I keep saying we're going to take the team to a Marlins game.
Nobody seems to go to the Marlins games.
So I can get all five of us in for, or like six of us in for like 12 bucks.
World Baseball Classics coming up in March of 90.
The World Baseball Classic is coming up in March in Miami.
Connor, you want to go to that?
All right.
Joseph, tell Christy, book the tickets.
We're going to go to the World Baseball Classic.
That's professional players, or that's college, or what is that?
unidentified
Professional.
dave rubin
It's professional guys.
Oh, they choose their country.
Oh, okay.
unidentified
All right.
All right.
dave rubin
We'll do that.
It's sort of like an Olympics thing.
And yeah, I mean, I watch the Super Bowl once a year and some kind of, yeah, I don't know.
I've just, you know, I'm so damn busy.
It's sort of like when people ask me, do I play video games?
I had my nephews over during the Christmas break and like we busted out the PlayStation upstairs and I played for a minute.
And it's just like, I just don't have the time or the midget wrestling.
That's what I'd really like to go see.
You find some midget wrestling coming to Miami and we'll do a team building exercise.
Wait, January 18th in Miami?
Are you kidding?
Is midget wrestling coming?
Are you just making this up?
Yes.
Get me an image.
I'm being told there is midget wrestling coming to Cape Coral.
All right, it's a little bit far, but is there an image or something that we can show?
All right.
What are we doing, guys?
Rapsack says, hey, Dave, I used to really like Rand Paul, but more recently he's become rather an obstructionist for the Republican Party.
Can't he just express his opinion and still vote with the Republicans?
Same with Thomas Massey.
What's up with him?
So, you know, it's really interesting.
So first off, I like Rand a lot.
He's done the show.
I think maybe as far as senators on the show, maybe he's done the show more than anybody.
And I personally like him.
We've met in person a few times.
Massey, I've had on the show a couple of times, also in person.
Like him.
And look, this is what I would say with libertarian thinking.
Much of it is utopian.
Like the idea that everyone will always, that the government should have no role in anything in essence, and that people will respect private property and people will just behave with their better nature.
So you never have to use any levers of power.
I think it's a utopian idea, which is why, I mean, if you haven't read Don't Burn This Book, it's why I lay out in it, why I consider, at least at the time, considered myself a classical liberal and not a libertarian, because I like a lot of the ideas.
I want very little control over the market.
I want the government to take as little tax as possible.
I want a slim and trim government.
I'm very sympathetic to all that.
But to me, a classical liberal, the classically liberal position is basically a libertarian.
It's more of a realist libertarian.
So it's a libertarian that goes, all right, that's all nice in the idea realm, like the Ayn Rand realm.
And we can write some novels about it that can make some great insightful points.
But in the real world, there are bad guys.
You do need borders.
Libertarians don't like borders.
They, in some sense, don't love the idea of a nation state.
They don't really understand the idea of peace through strength.
I mean, much of what's gone on as Tucker Carlson's gone crazy is because he's taking the hyper-libertarian approach, which philosophically, maybe you could get there.
But there are bad guys in the world.
There are countries and people that want to do bad to us.
And it is okay if we, as the last moral authority on earth, exert some power.
And it doesn't mean it's going to be perfect all the time.
So I don't consider myself one of them.
But to your question, is basically, should they vote more with the Republicans?
Yes, the answer to that is yes.
You know, one of the reasons that I came around on Trump after having not voted for him the first time, way back when, when I voted for the libertarian, ironically, Gary Johnson, back in 2016, one of the reasons I came around on Trump was because Rand Paul, who I really liked as a senator, the most libertarian senator, was he was coming around on Trump.
So Trump, I think, is blending as much kind of libertarian policy as possible.
He wants the government out of things.
He does want lower taxes.
He wants to leave things to the states, et cetera, with realism, particularly as it pertains to foreign policy.
So yes, I think they should probably, at the end of the day, Trump has made a point on this, which is why Trump is backing Massey's competitor in his congressional race in Kentucky.
Massey does not always vote with the Republicans, and the margins are so slim right now.
It's like, do you want to be right and lose the House?
Or do you want to play ball with people who maybe you don't agree with completely but aren't complete maniacs like the Democrats are?
I think the answer is fairly obvious.
Joe says, any plans on the 250th birthday of America in July or is it too soon?
You know, I haven't thought about it specifically, but yes, July 4th is the 250th birthday of America.
A week before that is my 50th, which I think me and two of my old-time buddies were going to do like three days in Vegas for the, because we're all turning 50 this year.
So we're going to do three days in Vegas.
I already rented Mike Tyson and the Tiger.
It's very exciting.
And we'll see what happens there.
We should have the bananas party.
We will have a bananas July 4th party here.
Fireworks, everything.
Chickens, cows, all of it.
And then we will celebrate this great country.
Hunter says, would you run over an anti-ICE protester if they blocked your car?
Look at you guys, AI, Dave.
Looking good, looking good.
Would I run over them?
Well, look, I live here in Florida, whereas Ron DeSantis has pointed out on this very show.
If these guys, if you are driving somewhere and these guys are on the road and they are impeding you, you have every right to continue.
Now, look, I wouldn't want to kill somebody.
I would take no pleasure in driving through somebody.
But let me just truly try to play it out for you.
If I was driving down the street and there was a protester of any kind, a bunch of them got in the way.
And if they start, particularly if they start, it's one thing if they just stop the road.
Now, you're going to hope that law enforcement is going to get there pretty damn soon.
And when they did that at the height of the Hamas lunacy protests, when they did that in Florida up in Orlando, they were gone.
And I think DeSantis said 13 minutes.
That's how quickly they got them off the highway.
So if they just had blocked a road, right, and they're all just laying on the ground.
Now, do I just want to plow right over them, even though you have the right to do it here?
No, I don't want to do that.
Now, if they started approaching my car, you don't know if these people have guns.
You don't know if these people have knives, particularly if I had my kids in the car.
I would do what I had to do to protect my family, period.
And that is a much better way to create a situation of law and order that you will take some responsibility for your life.
So it's not that you just want to be running through these people with glee like you're an Islamist at a Christmas fair.
What you want to do is protect your family.
You have every, you damn well have every right to do that.
L'Brian says, hey, Dave, I saw this sign at Tequila Jacks in Shoreline Village, Long Beach, California.
It reminded me of your tequila.
I gave some of my friends Copal for Christmas.
They loved it.
Oh, well, save water, drink tequila.
unidentified
I love that.
dave rubin
I'm also thrilled to hear that about Copal.
We are, we're in the midst of doing a few things with Copal, which I'm really incredibly excited about.
And I think I mentioned to you guys, our distributor has said we have broken every record of online sales of the launch of a new spirit.
Like you guys have really come through for us.
And I'm just thrilled to see that so many people love it.
Like it's just a great, we went to a dinner party last night with some friends and I brought over a bottle and people were just blown away.
Like it's it's a light and refreshing tequila made the right way and the price point is right.
And, you know, it's, it's just really good.
So if you haven't tried it and you want to give a gift to somebody, it's and this episode is brought to you by Copal Tequila.
unidentified
Look at that.
dave rubin
You can go to drinkcopal.com.
And we're working on going out to some other restaurants and some brick and mortar stuff.
It just, it takes a little bit of time.
I'm also trying not to, you know, I've talked to a ton of people in the alcohol industry.
It's sort of like an old boys club kind of thing.
And unless you want to get millions of dollars behind you to go nationwide, like we're just trying to go small and grow and grow and grow and grow.
And that's the way I did this show.
And that's what we're applying to that.
Let's talk about Juvent for a second and then a couple more questions.
Staying active matters, but even people who move and work out regularly still deal with stiffness, soreness, and feeling worn down.
That's where the Juvent Micro Impact Platform comes in.
Juvent is a smart wellness device inspired by NASA-funded research and assembled in the U.S.
It uses gentle micro-impacts through the soles of the feet to support recovery and mobility without strain or stress.
This isn't an aggressive vibration plate.
It's subtle, low impact, and can be used for about 10 minutes a day while watching TV.
Backed by more than 25 years of research, this technology supports bone and joint health, circulation, and recovery, key to staying active long term.
Juven is designed for everyday use and comes with a six-week money-back guarantee.
Right now, Ruben Report listeners can save $300 at juven.com slash Ruben using code Rubin.
That's juven.com slash Rubin, code Rubin for $300 off.
All right, Vandy says, Jasmine Crockpot can't be a lawyer, can she?
What lawyer uses the term illegal?
unidentified
An ill eagle is a sick bird.
Ill eagle.
dave rubin
Vandy, that's the type of dad humor I can get behind.
Yes, an ill eagle is a sick bird.
That's the least of the woman's problems.
The fact that she is possibly going to be senator from Texas is just so insane.
Heim says, why are you so optimistic on the midterms?
Look, I don't know that I'm so optimistic, but I'm not as blackpilled as everybody.
Like conventional thinking from everybody, every pundit in this space and from everybody I talk to is that this thing's going to be a disaster.
And I've said this a million times.
We know what happens when the incumbent president's party, you know, gets to the midterms.
It virtually never goes well.
I think 70% of the time they lose.
So there's all sorts of reasons to think this will go poorly.
You know, now we've got this early summer of love happening in Minneapolis.
But I do think, look, there's a couple things here.
All the stuff, the tax benefits and the economic benefits of the Big Beautiful bill will start kicking in this year, right?
It just took effect.
So that's one thing.
I think we're going to see some benefits out of the Venezuela thing.
I think people seeing that America is reasserting itself is good.
I think to the backdrop of America 250, there's going to be a resurgence of patriotism.
The Republicans can really grab that because it's kryptonite to the Democrats, patriotism, right?
Like they can't stand patriotism because they're not that into this country, right?
So I think there's just a series of things.
The Middle East wars have wrapped up.
Maybe they'll be more on the Abraham Accords type of things.
Maybe we get some, you know, the thing that I predicted, which I haven't heard anyone else say, but I just, I'm still hanging it out there, is I think somewhere in the summer, there's going to be some move on Russia, Ukraine.
And if that starts wrapping up, I just, you know, maybe more than anything else, it's just that if you Trump won the last election, and I get it, midterms, you're going to get a lower turnout.
The base doesn't get as fired up and everything else.
But if you believe in what Trump is doing and if you believe this country is good and you want to stop this onslaught that we now have that is full on socialism, communism, you have to get out there and vote.
So yeah, I get it.
They're going to be more ginned up to vote because they're not in power right now and they think this is their chance to grab power and then impeach Trump and everything else.
But we got to get ginned up too.
So I'm just not blackpilled yet.
You know, as we get closer, if everything's going off the rails, we'll see.
But we'll pick that up then.
Harrison says, do you have a favorite soup?
I believe they were going to show a clip of my favorite joke about a soup, but my favorite soup, just a good old-fashioned chicken soup.
We've had, you know, when you have young kids, there's always like a little sickness and snipples going around the house.
So, you know, constantly, even right now, I have a little something in my throat.
So we've been making a lot of chicken soup, which you can do all sorts of different ways, but we like going big La Cruset pot.
I throw an entire chicken in there.
We've got a wonderful garden here that I'm really loving tending to.
And we put all sorts of fresh herbs in there and dill and all that stuff.
And then obviously celery and onions and garlic, fresh garlic and all those things.
And we're making just a kick-ass chicken soup.
We'll get the recipe up for you guys soon.
But I do absolutely have a favorite joke about a soup.
No, we don't have it.
Oh, it's coming.
It's coming in just a second.
Oh, but interesting, in the meantime, this is the most popular soups in America, chicken noodle.
Okay, I don't even need the noodles in there.
I don't even need rice in there.
I can just do a broth with the chicken and I'm very happy.
Wonton, I mean, who doesn't like a nice wonton soup?
French onion, a little heavy for the way I'm eating these days.
You know, a good minestrone?
Yeah, good minestrone.
You're going to get some vegetables in there.
It's very nice.
Chicken and rice, so that's basically chicken noodle, but if you're just going with rice, cream of mushroom, you know, it's a heavier soup.
And matzo ball soup, which in essence I would say is pretty much chicken noodle soup.
Same thing.
Goulash?
unidentified
Goulash?
dave rubin
Is goulash technically a soup?
unidentified
It's not American, but you should.
dave rubin
Yeah, but you're just mentioning that goulash is good.
Yeah, but is goulash a soup, really?
It's more of a meal in, this is like that episode of Seinfeld, you know, is soup in a sandwich or meal.
But is goulash?
Goulash is technically a soup.
unidentified
It's a hearty soup.
dave rubin
It's a hearty soup.
unidentified
Goulash is a soup.
dave rubin
And to think you watch other shows than this.
We do have my favorite joke about soup.
unidentified
Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait.
Stop right there.
Listen.
Stop right there a minute.
Man goes into a restaurant.
You listening?
A man goes into a restaurant.
He sits down.
He's having a bowl of soup.
He says to the waiter, waiter, come taste the soup.
Waiter says, is there something wrong with the soup?
He just taste the soup.
He says, is there something wrong with the soup?
Is the soup too high?
Will you taste the soup?
It's wrong.
Is the soup too cold?
Will you just taste the soup?
All right, I'll taste the soup.
Where's the spoon?
Aha.
Aha!
dave rubin
I mean, that is funny.
You get it?
There was no spoon.
There will, however, be a post-game show, RubinReport.locals.com.
