Ron Paul Liberty Report - Weekly Update --- Ukraine Crisis: A Nightmare Caused by US Interventionism Aired: 2022-02-18 Duration: 04:09 === U.S. Interventionism Fuels Crisis (04:06) === [00:00:03] Hello everybody and thank you for tuning in to the weekly report Ukraine Crisis A Nightmare Caused by U.S. Interventionism Over the weekend we heard that the U.S. is evacuating its embassy in Kiev for fear of a Russian invasion. [00:00:23] We also heard that Russia is evacuating its embassy in Kiev for fear of a U.S.-backed provocation in eastern Ukraine that may lead to a Russian military response. [00:00:37] We're in unchartered territory, the media tells us. [00:00:40] Yes, that's true. [00:00:42] But it is unchartered because no one had ever imagined in the past that the U.S. government would be so foolish to risk the thermonuclear war over the borders of a country, Ukraine, that have changed so many times over the past century. [00:01:00] Of all things to draw a line in the sand over, the question of who runs Ukraine or where its borders might be should be pretty near the bottom of the list. [00:01:10] An urgent Biden-Putin phone call on Saturday did not lead to any breakthrough. [00:01:16] And if anyone thought it would, instead, it provided cover for Biden's administration hawks to claim they tried every diplomatic approach. [00:01:27] But war seems to be the only option. [00:01:31] But this whole thing is a farce. [00:01:32] As I see it, here is the Ukraine crisis in a nutshell. [00:01:38] Biden to Putin. [00:01:39] Don't invade Ukraine. [00:01:42] Putin to Biden. [00:01:44] We have no intention of invading Ukraine. [00:01:48] Biden to the U.S. media. [00:01:50] Putin is about to invade Ukraine. [00:01:53] Then Biden's top officials proceed to embarrass themselves by warning that the invasion was imminent or is coming next Tuesday or Wednesday or surely before the end of the Olympics. [00:02:05] Does anyone think they have any credibility left with their constant hysterical warning? [00:02:12] Meanwhile, U.S. intelligence continues to leak incinerary information to a U.S. media that has lost any interest in skepticism toward any scoop handed by the U.S. government officials. [00:02:27] What the media will not report is that this entire crisis and the threat of a serious war has all been brought about by U.S. interference in the internal affairs of Ukraine, specifically the U.S. Baku that overthrew an elected government in 2014. [00:02:46] Every bit of unrest in Ukraine proceeded from that single foolish and immoral act by the Obama administration. [00:02:56] That is why we are non-interventionists. [00:02:58] The philosophy of non-interventionism is one very good piece of insurance protecting us from needless wars. [00:03:06] If you don't meddle in the affairs of foreign countries, there is less chance of being dragged in to an unnecessary war. [00:03:14] Ukraine is a great example of why non-interventionism is the only pro-American foreign policy. [00:03:22] We are risking nuclear war with Russia over what? [00:03:25] Ukraine's borders? [00:03:27] Surely most Americans see how idiotic this is. [00:03:32] The Biden administration is at present shell-shocked that the Russian government did not back down over plans to expand NATO to Ukraine. [00:03:42] Russia understandably views NATO membership for Ukraine with its Article 5 guarantees to be an unacceptable threat considering the ongoing border dispute. [00:03:54] This is not our fight. [00:03:56] Yet Biden's foreign policy team has decided it's a great time to kick the hornet's nest. [00:04:03] It's all about Biden's dismal approval ratings. [00:04:06] What a sick thing to risk a major war over.
