Ron Paul Liberty Report - Weekly Update --- Good News: Fauci’s Out and Common Sense Might Be Returning Aired: 2020-08-18 Duration: 04:00 === Fauci's Out! Good News? (03:57) === [00:00:03] Hello everybody and thank you for tuning in to the weekly report. [00:00:07] Good news. [00:00:08] Fauci's out and common sense might be returning. [00:00:12] These days it seems there is not much good news out there. [00:00:17] People are still panicked over the coronavirus. [00:00:19] Governments are still trampling civil liberties in the name of fighting the virus. [00:00:24] The economy already teetering on the edge of collapse has been kicked to the ground by what history may record as one of the worst man-made disasters of all times, shutting down the country to fight a cold virus. [00:00:39] That's why we'll take good news whenever we can get it. [00:00:42] And President Trump hiring of Dr. Scott Atlas to his coronavirus task force may just be that good news we need. [00:00:50] As the media has reported, President Trump has sidelined headline hogging Anthony Fauci in favor of Atlas, the former Stanford University Medical Center chief of neuroradiology. [00:01:03] Recall, Fauci was the expert who told us a few months ago that we would never be able to shake hands again. [00:01:11] Fauci's advice, forecasts, and assessments proved to be wildly wrong. [00:01:16] Contradictory and just plain bizarre. [00:01:19] Don't wear a mask. [00:01:21] Masks are important as symbols. [00:01:23] Put on goggles, stay home. [00:01:26] Churches must be severely restricted, but Black Lives Matter marches and encounters with strangers met over the internet are perfectly fine. [00:01:36] When Anthony Fauci demanded a lockdown of the economy for an indefinite period, he actually seemed oblivious to the havoc it would wreck on the economy and on the people's lives. [00:01:48] People like Fauci and others who demanded lockdowns and stay-at-home orders were still collecting their paychecks. [00:01:56] So what did they care about anyone else? [00:02:00] Dr. Scott Atlas is not only a former top physician and hospital administrator, as a senior fellow at the Hoover Institute, he also understands the policy implications of locking a country down. [00:02:13] On April 22nd, Dr. Atlas wrote an op-ed in the Hill titled, The Data is In Stop the Panic and End the Total Isolation. [00:02:23] In the article, he made five main points that are as true today as when he wrote them. [00:02:29] An overwhelming majority of people are at no risk of dying from COVID. [00:02:34] Protecting older people prevents hospital overcrowding. [00:02:38] Locking down a population actually prevents the herd immunity necessary to defeat the virus. [00:02:45] People are dying because they are not being treated for non-COVID illnesses. [00:02:51] We know what part of the population is at risk and we can protect them. [00:02:56] Imagine how many thousands of lives could have been saved had the administration listened to Dr. Atlas back in April. [00:03:04] CDC Director Robert Redfield admitted last month that lockdowns are killing more Americans than COVID. [00:03:12] First, Do No Harm was thrown out the window and nearly six months of wrong-headed policy has done perhaps irreparable harm to the country. [00:03:22] South Dakota and Sweden did virtually nothing to lock down or restrict their populations and they actually fared better than lockdown states in the United States. [00:03:33] They had lower death rates, their hospitals were never overrun with COVID patients, and they have an economy to go back to. [00:03:42] We very much hope that Dr. Atlas will not moderate his message to please the blob in Washington. [00:03:48] Trump's COVID policies to this point have caused more harm than good. [00:03:54] Without you out of the driver's seat, we finally have a chance of turning things around.
