EZRA LEVANT | Toronto Police stand by as ambulance carrying child is blocked by pro-Hamas protesters

Ezra Levant exposes Toronto Police’s four-minute delay blocking an ambulance carrying a child on May 21st, despite no permits for pro-Hamas protesters, while questioning why "white leftist" Liam O’Hanna faced terrorism charges in London for displaying a Hezbollah flag in November 2024. Drea Humphrey from Ostrich Watch reports on BC’s Universal Ostrich Farms protest against CFIA’s planned cull of 400 healthy ostriches, despite no avian flu risk, citing government interference with research since the 1990s—including a 2020 Japanese partnership for virus-fighting antibodies. The episode highlights selective enforcement and state overreach, revealing priorities that clash with public safety and scientific freedom. [Automatically generated summary]

Ambulance Blocked by Protesters 00:14:06
Hello, my friends.
I'm in the UK, but my story is about Canada.
Have Toronto police allowed illegal Hamash protesters to block an ambulance with a child in it for four full minutes?
It's so gross.
And we'll show you the video of it.
But first, let me invite you to get a subscription to Rebel News Plus.
It's the video version of this podcast.
I want you to see that ambulance.
I want you to see the smoke bombs.
I want you to see what we're showing you from the different places we're reporting today.
Just go to RebelNewsPlus.com, click subscribe, eight bucks a month.
And not only do you get all that great content, you get the satisfaction of helping out Rebel News too.
Tonight, Toronto police let Hamash protesters block a child in an ambulance for four full minutes.
It's May 21st, and this is the Ezra Levant show.
shame on you you sensorious bug oh hi everybody I'm still here in the UK.
I've decided to record this video from inside my hotel room, which is super tiny and the lighting isn't great, but it's quiet, unlike the streets of London.
I recorded some other videos on the streets, but I'm worried that they were just too hard to hear.
But watching myself in the monitor as I record this, I realize what a disaster this haircut was.
I should tell you, there was a bit of a language barrier, a bit of a communications error in the barber shop.
And I also made a mistake.
You know, I usually never get a haircut by anyone under the age of 70.
I'm thinking, if you're under 70, you're probably too fashion-forward for me.
Anyhow, I made the double mistake of getting someone under 70, cutting my hair, and huge language barrier.
The good news is it'll partly grow back.
Anyways, thank you for letting me get that out of the way.
I'm in the UK.
I'm coming home tomorrow.
I will try and come back here when Tommy Robinson is released from prison.
I thought that was going to be sooner than it is, so I want to get home in the meantime.
Saw something in the news here.
There's a Northern Irish band from Northern Ireland that has a bit of an IRA fetish, but actually these days they're all about Hezbollah, the banned terrorist group.
They wear Hezbollah-colored clothes, including face masks.
They pose for photos, reading Hamas or Hezbollah, various Palestinian terrorist groups.
They're constantly talking about it and promoting it, including on Twitter.
And also on tours where they travel from concert hall to concert hall.
Anyway, here's some news I saw about the band's leader, nicknamed Knecap.
I'll just read this to you.
A man has been charged with a terrorism offense following an investigation by the Mets Counterterrorism Command.
Liam O'Hanna, 27 of Belfast, it's in Northern Ireland, has been charged via postal requisition with displaying a flag in support of Hezbollah, a proscribed organization, namely on the 21st of November, 2024, in a public place, namely the O2 Forum, Kentish Town, London.
It's a big concert hall.
He displayed an article, namely a flag, in such a way or in such circumstances as to arouse reasonable suspicion that he is a supporter of a proscribed organization, namely Hezbollah, contrary to section 113.1b and 3 of the Terrorism Act of 2000.
So they've been tracking this guy for six months or so, and for some reason, just chose to finally charge him today.
So he was just being charged with waving the flag, even though this guy's really creepy and he posts pictures of himself studying Hamas propaganda.
It's weird.
There are all sorts of terrorist flags in Canada.
You see them all the time.
Sometimes you see them on video.
I'm not talking about the Palestinian flag.
I'm talking about the flag for actual terrorist groups like Hezbollah or the Taliban.
They're out there.
I don't even know how you would get such a thing, but they are in Canada.
You see them, there's no consequences, and I mean zero.
I suppose it's the same here in the UK.
And in fact, I think he was arrested because he's a white leftist, not a Muslim extremist.
I think that's the only reason he was arrested.
If he was a Pakistani man or a Syrian man or something like that, I don't think police would have dared to arrest him.
But look at Toronto.
I showed you the illegal march through the streets last week.
This was filmed by Karima Sad, a citizen journalist who covers protests.
Remember the smoke bomb?
Yeah, that's the kind of place where you're, I mean, probably not in downtown Toronto, but in Hamas, in Mississauga, you're quite likely to see terrorist flags there.
Anyways, police let these things go all the time.
I mean, that's what's so astonishing.
You go to these protests and all sorts of, it's like a little mini crime wave.
Police do nothing.
But what happened is the video of that smoke bomb went viral and that caught police attention.
So they reluctantly later charged the smoke bomb guy.
He was immediately released back on the streets, of course.
I doubt he'll even be prosecuted, but he was arrested because of the video and news stories that came from it.
Those news stories temporarily embarrass the police in the city, who are usually far beyond embarrassment.
Anyways, Karima's on the streets a lot, and she saw this.
take a look at this ambulance being blocked.
Ambulance blocked on the streets by the illegal Hamas protesters.
Illegal in that they don't have a permit.
They're blocking the streets.
Even the trucker convoy kept a lane open for emergency vehicles.
Remember that?
Yeah, no arrests or ride horses or seized or frozen bank accounts for the Hamas type.
That's just for loyal Canadians.
Anyways, imagine an ambulance that can't get through because of an illegal protest in support of an illegal terrorist group, and they're illegally blocking the streets.
And police just stand there as usual.
The Toronto Sun, though, did a big story about it.
Our friend Joe Warmington wanted to show you what it actually looked like on the page.
Protests above all.
Ambulance carrying kid gives way to pro-Hamas crowd.
Just such a gross event.
And thank goodness Karima there was to record it and that Joe wrote about it.
It was truly shocking.
So the police felt finally compelled to put a statement about it.
Let me be clear.
They didn't put a statement about the ambulance.
They put a statement out because of the news coverage.
You've got to understand it.
It was the news coverage that they didn't like.
So an individual was taken.
I want to read to you.
I want you to compare what the police said happened to what actually happened.
Here's the police statement.
An individual was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Paramedics took an alternate route to avoid demonstrators.
The individual's life was not at risk and the delay was minimal.
If urgent access is ever needed, officers will clear a path.
Public safety is always our top priority.
Guys, you've got to stop lying.
I mean, maybe you can get away with it, but in the age of video cameras, I don't know if you're going to get away with it as much as you used to.
It wasn't a little detour, it wasn't a minimal detour.
The ambulance was waiting for nearly four full minutes.
Here, I'm going to show you how long four minutes is.
You're going to be playing the clip of the ambulance in the background.
And imagine you're in the back of that ambulance with a little boy, and normally seconds matter.
That's why they have lights and sirens.
That's why they go through red lights and everyone moves over.
And you've got these Hamas protesters, and they don't give a damn.
In fact, they'd probably be thrilled if they killed that kid through their protests.
I think this video was actually filmed by someone else who was there at the same time as Karima.
You'll note the police never actually inquire with the ambulance, never actually ask the Hamas side to move.
They're lying when they say it was minimal.
A kid could have died.
This sort of thing happens every week, sometimes every day.
This is what Canada has become: no rule of law, two-tier policing, two-tiered prosecutions, two-tiered justice.
I can't believe that some of the coup protesters are still behind bars in Canada, but this, no, no problem.
Of course, it goes right to the top.
I mean, Mark Carney has only been prime minister for a few weeks, and Anita Anand has only been foreign minister for a few days.
But Hamas has already issued a public statement.
I think it's their second or a third now, praising Canada's liberals for being so sympathetic to them.
How would you feel if you had rapists and murderers praising you?
Well, you feel pretty good if you counted on the votes of people who support rape and murder, which is what Hamas does.
Listen to Anita Anand give a little statement last week about Israel.
I at first thought she just obviously knows nothing about the file, hasn't been briefed yet, and just blurted out the first thing that came to mind.
I no longer think that.
I think she is actually full Hamas.
Take a listen and you tell me.
Israel is blocking food and aid to Gaza.
What do you think of that decision?
And is the Canadian government doing anything to stop that?
We cannot allow the continued use of food as a political tool.
The Prime Minister has been very clear about that.
Over 50,000 people have died as a result of the aggression caused against the Palestinian and the Gazan people in Palestine.
And using food as a political tool is simply unacceptable.
And we need to continue to work towards a ceasefire.
We need to ensure that we have a two-state solution and Canada will continue to maintain that position.
So, of course, some of the blame goes right to the top, but the Toronto Police, you know, they actually report to the city and they have a chain of command themselves, but they're corroded from within.
Here are a couple of Toronto police cops on a Toronto Police podcast.
It's all official.
And they're talking about how the Hamas attack on October 7th, 2023 against Israel had bonus side effects.
It caused more people to look into Islam and therefore to possibly convert.
Remember that?
It's funny you say this because, you know, through social media, a lot of people after October 7th started learning about Islam.
They did.
And they said, okay, what is it with the religion that everyone, why is it so hated?
You know what I mean?
Why are they being attacked all the time?
So people say, you know what, let me learn about Islam.
And there have been a lot of reverts through this whole process.
I couldn't imagine, like, I guess when you're on social media, most of the feeds come through you.
Once you see one, it just keeps coming.
But the amount of people that are that are reverting to Islam is unbelievable.
And they're just, I guess, through education, right?
They're actually educating themselves and saying, what is it that Muslims are being targeted and why are they being targeted?
Let me learn about this religion.
What are these accusations that they're saying?
about Islam and let me learn about it myself and figure out, hey, is it actually true or not?
Yeah.
Yeah, so that's Canada.
That's your Toronto police.
Are you surprised that they put Hamas protests ahead of getting an eight-year-old boy to the hospital?
I see the UK starting to fight back a little bit.
I can feel it out there.
I can see it a little bit in the polls.
I can see Ireland starting to fight back a fair bit too.
Hey, when's that fight back going to finally come to Canada?
Stay with us for more.
Oh, hi there.
I'm actually on my way home now.
See you in Canada soon.
But let me leave you with Drea Humphrey, who's on the Ostrich Watch.
What's that?
We'll find out.
Take a look.
Oh, man.
Now you're not the real deal, which is a good thing.
But tell us why it's important to dress up as though you are.
Because Ostrich Fest.
Poor baby's behind me.
Oh, my goodness.
It is May 20th.
Drea Humphrey here with Revel News as promised back at Universal Ostrich Farms in Edgewood, BC, bringing you a story continuously that defies logic and science when it comes to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency's plans to continue going through with culling, aka slaughtering, a flock of healthy, robust, vibrant ostriches.
Ostrich Fest Magic 00:05:37
There's some of them behind me.
Many of you know this story.
If you don't, we have a special website that has all the background called savetheostriches.com.
But in short, despite immense pushback, we're talking a unifying pushback between local politicians on the provincial level as well.
Even Premier David Evie came out and said he's not happy with the CFIA.
Let's take that away from the specific instant case and just talk about that generally.
It's been a consistent experience that farmers have had with federal agencies.
Devastating for this family, for this farm, for these folks who are trying to build a life for themselves.
And I hope the federal government looks very carefully at appropriate compensation to ensure they're made whole.
Other politicians as well, conservative and independents have come forward.
And as you can see, if you didn't already know, the public, the people are outraged.
They've come in protests, in camps, camping up on the property here to stand against the culling that unfortunately can take place at any minute and any time.
Now, I made the eight-hour trek overnight.
It was a nice drive in the sense that no one was around, but I'm kind of tired right now.
And I wanted to be able to be your boots on the ground here for you guys because any moment we can see this threat to property rights, this threat to farming sovereignty, this threat to freedom in science be acted out censusly.
Like I said, despite so much pushback.
And so I want to be here to make sure that the world sees it.
And for that reason, we had to take some extra steps.
I was already here for four days.
There is literally no connection issue for me.
I mean, I could text message people and things like that.
But when it came to filming something, uploading it, sending it back to my colleagues so that they could edit it and get it up, it was a painful process.
And it wasn't able to be done here.
I was staying at a motel that's close by.
But let's face it, when the Canadian Food Inspection Agency's hitmen show up, I could be over at the motel trying to upload footage.
It just wasn't practical.
And so to ensure that I could be here, I have to camp with these protesters.
That's what makes sense.
So we have gone ahead and rented a camper van.
I'm going to actually show you it because it's kind of cool.
Because you know what?
It's even extra cool because this is all coming together last minute.
And the company I reached out said, we don't have the van you're looking for, which was a lower modest budget.
So we can be respectful with our donors, everybody who's donating at savetheostriches.com to help our coverage here.
He said, but we have our best model.
And since no one's, you know, rented it out and you're looking for it today, you can have it for the same price.
So I got a pretty, pretty, pretty nice van here, but they didn't tell me that it's one of those right, the steering wheel's on the right.
Like you got to tell, especially a woman, you got to make that clear.
So I overnight drove here for eight hours.
There wasn't many cars, so that was good.
I was able to practice that way.
And now I have mastered right-hand driving.
But for those of you who have chipped in to cover the expenses that we already incurred, thank you very much for doing that.
So again, I can be your eyes and ears here at Universal Ostrich Farm.
And here's the baby.
Here it is.
I'm going to open it up for you.
Look at that.
You got the leather seats.
This is a little bit nicer than the normal budget.
And there's that right-hand steering wheel.
But the real magic, my friends.
Here's the real magic.
All right, look here.
Okay, that's the bed there.
But right here, my friends, is none other.
I better not pick it up with one hand, but right in there is Elon Musk's Starlink.
Okay?
The Starlink has arrived.
I will be able to work.
And that is exactly what I needed to do my job properly here.
So I'm going to go ahead and set that up so that I can be efficient, so that I can be on guard and report to you whether it be the tragic slaying of these ostriches and maybe the future of farming sovereignty in Canada or another miracle comes out.
Because let's face it, the two miracles that these farmers received, the emergency injunction, well, that one occurred the day before the call was initially supposed to take place.
And the last one, the regional district here in the Kootenays, Central Kootenays, unanimously blocking the CFIA from their plans, which was to bring the carcasses after they killed the birds to the landfill.
They unanimously shut that down the day before that was going to happen.
So you never know what could happen.
And that's another reason I want to be here.
There's been some miraculous type wins.
So again, please go to save theostriches.com if you haven't already to help cover our expenses that are ongoing.
I'm more prepared to be here for the long haul if I need to be.
Another Reason for Presence 00:08:16
And also, I'm going to show you some of the interactions that I had right now, some of the interviews.
Oh, but before I do that, I want to say one thing.
The mainstream media has been covering this story as well.
And I got to say, for the most part, I mean, I've done a lot of driving and I've been, like I said, having those struggles.
So I haven't been able to see what's online as much as I normally do.
But from what I can see, they're pretty fair.
They're pretty decent.
Except for the Taiyi.
And I think I should call them out.
Look at this article that they put up where they try to make this look like some sort of far-right extremist event that is going on.
And that's another reason why it's important for Rebel News to be here because if there is some sort of stand, which is what I hear is going to happen, a peaceful stand is what I hear is going to happen if authorities or whoever shows up to kill these birds.
That could very easily be twisted.
And so it looks like the Taiye is already doing that.
Look at this article.
It reads, How a BC ostrich farm sparked a far-right crusade.
Convoy supporters and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. have rallied around the farm, which is facing a cull of its 400-strong flock.
And then lower down it says, A volunteer researcher with a grassroots group called Unmask the Right says he's concerned about the involvement of high-profile convoy protesters and people who have threatened violence.
There is no violence happening here.
And that's another reason why I need to be here to be your eyes and ears at this protest and whatever is about to take place.
So again, another important reason for me to be here for you.
Now here's some of the interviews from some of the people you haven't seen me speak to that have come to stand on guard for the freedom to farm at Universal Ostrich Farms.
Oh man, now you're not the real deal, which is a good thing.
But tell us why it's important to dress up as though you are because Ostrich Fest.
How was Ostrich Fest?
What did I miss?
It was a lot of fun.
There was great music, great fun, lots of laughs, lots of good energy, shall I say, and commitments to maintaining the objective.
And it's going to keep building.
I see you have your proud member of a small friend's minority.
Were you involved at all in the trucker convoy too?
Oh, yes.
My mom at the time, she was 86.
And I had to go to NACA to support her when we found out what Trudeau did.
And it was really hard for both of us.
We held each other and hugged each other.
So when my mom saw what was happening here, she did want to come, but she couldn't.
So she put it out and she was talking to my brother.
And she said, all we need now is the bouncy castles.
Yeah.
I'm putting it out there.
What happened in the federal court when you guys got to go?
Their expert witnesses, our expert witnesses, were not challenged and not cross-examined because I think they just had too much to offer.
We cross-examined all of their expert witnesses, but then we ended up with our expert witnesses reports being struck from our record.
So if we're talking about truth and science here, how does that, you know, we need to protect that to get back to a solution, not swiping it from records?
This is where all expert witnesses from all around the world, all of their witness, all of their expertise should come into play.
Not swiping them for the record.
So it was very unfortunate.
It was really disappointing.
So you came all the way out from Alberta.
Tell us why.
Well, basically because we have a poultry farm and we raise lots of different poultry and different types of animals on our farm and basically like, a lot of people follow me and I'm pretty well known in our community and I basically came out here because I want people to be strong enough to be able to stand with these people, because what's going on is completely wrong and if we don't stand up, they're going to come after us too, and so people just really need to understand that and so yeah,
and I just want to support the family and support what they're doing, because it's just amazing all the things that they're doing and I think it's super important.
Well look who just showed up familiar face to Rebel News usually on the women's rights beat and I mean women when I say that so what brought you out here today?
I've been following this story online for a while and I think it's the free speech and the private property ownership issue that's real to me.
I feel like this is, you know, if we let this one go then a lot of farmers will suffer from that.
I'm from the UK where I grew up in the countryside around like mad cow and all these burning piles of cows and you know just watching that kind of overeat and destroying the whole herd if just one of them's ill.
So I feel moved by the story of the ostriches but also more broadly about like government overeach and yeah our private property rights.
And so I'm sure obviously everyone here is aware the CFIA has claimed it's gonna go through with it.
What do you make of it?
Are you still holding hope that some miraculous event will occur to prevent that or have the protesters and those on guard sort of shifted to how are we gonna respond when the hitmen show up?
We have they've already stumbled now with the regional districts ruling that they won't accept birds that they can't show are sick which is the sensible option right so it's clear that they don't have the moral or scientific high ground.
This has gained international attention around the world that we're hearing from the ostrich farms of South Africa.
They're enraged.
So yeah I think that there's a lot the pressure is growing even our beloved Premier Mr. David Eby right so this is an issue that should bring all people with any common sense or humanity together over this and I think we can prevail.
I'm confident of it.
That's why I'm here.
We have some tricks up our sleeves too.
And including the expertise of you guys, the farmers.
I just learned I didn't know this but you guys have been farming ostriches since the 90s right?
Yes it's been a lot of years and that's why I said you know I keep saying for the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and on a world scale we need to keep our experts the experts and the experts in our industries are our cattle farmers are our poultry farmers they are the experts in their industry and we should be consulting with them about new solutions and how do we create the stabilization and our food security not threaten it and keep our heroes the heroes that they are.
Well being out here I'm learning how much it takes to run a farm so you've put a lot aside to come out here that's for sure.
How long are you going to stay out here?
Just until tomorrow morning.
We have a farm so I have to get back.
And what do you think?
Is there anything else kind of along this line that has been happening for farmers sort of where it seems like there's government overreach that just doesn't make sense?
Is there anything else?
Just kind of all of it.
Just like I feel like farmers like they're not even feeling safe about getting their animals tested now.
Like we used to be able to send away our birds like if just if you have random deaths you'd be able to send them away and now if you do it they have to come out to the farm and all of these extra things and so we can't take our judgment on things and be able to build immunity in our farms and things like that.
So that's a huge concern for me.
And another reason this hits home for me is that herd immunity and just immunity in general, I also am in the natural health field and I know how the immune system works and it's not any different with animals.
Wellness Check Concerns 00:10:59
It's May 21st.
I just got a knock while I was working on the camper.
Dre Humphrey reporting from Universal Ostrich Farms.
The peers authorities may be present.
Others are running as well to the entrance of the Camp Band Farm to see if they have come for the 400 ostriches.
And it looks as though they have.
I'm going to switch the camera angle now.
If you're unfamiliar with this story, we have all the details at savetheostriches.com.
Essentially, the state appears to be here.
I'm going to stop talking and film.
So, but we but this is like you know in politics there's not very much that they can all agree on but they're all agreeing that the ostriches need to be saved.
So it's kind of cool.
But anyways, yeah, so I yeah, welcome to have a wellness check.
I know that people are on edge.
If we can even do the wellness check outside of the perimeter, we don't, people don't like weapons.
Yeah.
It's a weapon because weapons, obviously, we are really, really passionate about that to everybody that there's no weapons.
And so I want to keep it that way because it's important for our leadership to make sure that that message stays clear.
So, but yeah, and I think I'll get a hold of mom and make sure she's coming.
But yeah, it's been a pleasure to meet you guys.
And obviously, yeah, and you've always done so much.
So much help.
You've helped us through a few things here.
So anyways, I'll get to mom and everything's good.
So we have these for our liaison, please.
And we want to give them a round of applause because we want their support and we want them, they know what we're going through.
And we want, if it's just a wellness thing, I want to have faith that you guys are really just here doing that and that you guys are you want to see the best thing come out of this too.
We have been given no instruction to do anything but to talk to you guys.
Okay, perfect.
Okay, don't go home with numbers.
Say there's 400 people here.
Please.
They're just asleep.
Yeah, they're just in their tents.
But okay, so but if anybody, whoever doesn't feel comfortable talking doesn't have to, right?
But like if it's, but please, I encourage people, you guys, to talk.
We want these guys on our side.
We want these guys to give us a heads up if there was.
Where's the sign-up sheet?
Oh, it's at the booth.
Can you guys come sign in?
Dare you?
I should have some.
Yeah, sure.
I'll take a band-aid now.
That'd be great.
What happened, Katie?
Why are you bleeding?
She was shaving this morning.
Shaving in a hurry.
Yeah.
All right.
Exactly.
So the RCMP is here.
It doesn't look like the CFIA, that's the Canadian Food Inspection Agency's hired hitman to call these healthy birds, has arrived.
Their claim to Katie Pissitney, one of the farmers here at Universal Ostrich Farms, is that they're here to do a wellness check, to check on us.
And consistent with how the farm has been with everything, including when their animals were sick, they have complied.
They are welcoming the RCMP to do the so-called wellness check.
I suspect what is happening is the RCMP behind me are actually here to scout what is happening at the protest.
They want to walk around.
They want to see what to expect for when the Canadian Food Inspection Agency's hired company comes here.
They're going to know where people are situated, what it was like when they first showed up.
They're basically scouting out what to expect for when they come to do the call.
That's what I believe is occurring.
Again, I was running when this started, so I didn't get to properly explain the story.
I'm actually going to walk over to the ostriches right now, away from some of the protesters, and just show you how they're doing.
You know, it's just so sad.
You know, the Canadian Food Inspection Sea says that they are going to continue with the culling of these 400 ostriches behind me.
There's some of them right there.
They're looking at the RCMP like, what are you guys doing here?
What's going on?
And the claim is that these ostriches are a risk to the public due to the avian flu.
A virus went through this flock last year.
It is May.
It's almost summer.
And some of the younger flock died.
I believe 69 of them.
But the older ones, ostriches can live till around 75 years.
The older ones stood strong.
Almost all were asymptomatic.
And look, look, he's falling.
This is so cute.
And it's just so sad.
Some of them have numbers on them, some of them don't.
But the point is, they're healthy and they're not even for human consumption.
I've said this a million times, but this is the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
These are not food.
These are research birds.
And to heighten the hypocrisy more, their research is the process of extracting antibodies from their prehistoric eggs so that those antibodies, which are very robust, can be used to defend off of things like COVID-19 and the avian flu.
Okay, so none of it makes sense, perhaps because they're not invested with, you know, big pharma's mRNA technology that they want inside of everything and they're focused more on natural immunity, a way to use that to fight these viruses the state at least pretends or claims to care so much about.
But, oh, look at their, I don't know if you can see them running after each other.
I mean, it's just so obvious they're healthy.
A lot of people, it's early in the morning, some are still in their tents and in their campers or whatever.
But it's very clear to me anyways.
That's what's happening.
The RCMP are here to scout out because the CFIA is unfortunately still going to go ahead with culling these animals.
I was just about to release a written statement, so stay tuned for that from the farm because there's a whole bunch of rumors going around about what type of research they were in.
And, you know, the rumors fly.
They feel they need to go ahead and address some of those.
So I will be getting that out.
I don't believe it's been published yet, so I'm going to publish that right after this video.
But of course, I had to check out, oh, there's Karen.
I'm going to switch the camera angle now so you can see Karen, co-owner of the farm, right in there with the ostriches, as well as her partner, Dave Belinski.
Again, none of them have been sick.
They're able to go into the quarantine zone.
Take a look.
So, Karen, what do you think about the police coming for a wellness check?
That's okay.
okay yeah in case you can't hear she says it's okay They've been on your side.
So what about yourself?
Have you been sick at all?
You're allowed in the quarantine zone.
You're feeding them every day, walking amongst them.
How's your health?
I've never been sick through this entire thing, and they've been healthy for almost four months.
So I don't know why anybody would be sick.
Yeah, but she says she's been healthy.
They've been healthy at least four months.
And but there you go.
This is Canada and a real threat to a lot of things.
This is their property.
You know, they have been farming ostriches since the 90s.
Of course, it started off with food.
It's not poultry.
It's a nice red meat that I've never eaten before.
Comment if you have.
But they brought the ostriches originally from Africa, actually, and have been farming and walking amongst them for years and doing their eggs.
And in 2020, if you've seen our reports at savetheostriches.com, you know, when the whole world was being told that there was a pandemic that was going to wipe out so many people, they decided to partner with a scientist in a university in Japan to come up with some groundbreaking research.
And they actually did that.
But it's gotten shut down one way or another whenever they get very close to something that you would think the state wants to preserve and grab a hold of.
But then there is the Universal Ostrich Farm.
So lots of eyes on here, a lot of political pushback.
There are campers here behind me.
It looks like you can see here, there's some campers here behind me that are setting up in support.
They've been here coming and going.
People from as far as Ontario, a lot of people from Alberta, and of course, mostly from British Columbia have come here to stand with the farmers against the call.
Oh, that's what I was going to say.
While the farmers are still continuing to work on a appeal, it's all time sensitive.
The ruling, if you recall, that we reported on after the farmers tried to have a judicial review to say, hey, let's stop.
Why are we killing these birds?
Let's preserve them and the research that they represent.
But the federal court sided with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and said, yep, you can go ahead and kill these healthy animals.
Well, it was a 137-page ruling.
And so they are working fast on an appeal, but they can come at any second.
For all we know, the RCMP here are doing their walkthrough and then they're going to go back and say, okay, now it's time to go.
So it's getting real.
Keep following our parts at savetheostriches.com.
I am actually camped here.
We got Starlink as well, so I can get this video to you right now, unlike before.
So if you want to help, please do to cover our expenses for me to be here on the scene.
So you're the first to know at save theostriches.com.
And we always put information as well on how you can help the farm.
Again, that's save theostriches.com.
Hopefully I got better news next time.
Well, my friends, that's our show for today.
