It's our annual Letters to Your Favorite Rebels episode.
I'm Sheila Gunn-Reed, and you're watching The Gunn Show.
You know, there are a couple of times a year where I turn the show completely over to you.
I sort of make you the guests.
Some of those times are when I'm too busy traveling or with my other responsibilities at the company to book a guest for the show.
And so, as I said, I make you guys the guests.
I asked for your letters, your questions, your comments, your story ideas, your viewer feedback, and then I just read them on air.
And we also do this at Christmas time.
It's the annual Letters to Rebels episode, where you send us your letters, your end of the year comments, and we read them.
And I'm reading them quite literally sight unseen.
I've just opened up the place where we're storing them at work, and I'm just going to find my name, click it, and read it.
Okay.
So let's get right into it.
Oh, by the way, I hope you like the background behind me.
I just thought I'd switch it up for Christmas.
Last year, I think I used a picture of my backyard, but it's quite literally a frozen hellscape out there.
It's like minus 30, and I love you guys.
I do.
But no, not going out there in knee-deep snow to try to find something worth posting.
So you're getting this background here.
All right, let's get into it.
It is from Kat.
And Kat writes, I just wanted to send a message to all of those who stood up to the lies and power grabs in this past few decades, especially the last four years, many of whom have lost their income, family, and friends, many who literally lost loved ones and those who have been shunned and now have to stand on the sidelines as the ones who shunned them are dying with no way to say goodbye.
I want all the people to know that in their strength and honorable acts, we will be even more steadfast in a battle we did not start.
We are more than any puppet considered and we still have a lot to be celebrated in this season.
This is a tough year and one where many are weary.
Prayers are in abundance and peace is around the corner.
God bless and keep safe.
Merry Christmas to all.
You know what, Kat, what a good use of your letters to the rebels.
You got us to read a message on behalf of you to your fellow Canadians who many of whom are struggling thanks to government and government overreach.
So generally just government.
Angela Raynor writes, Dear Canada, as we approach this holiday season, my wish for you is a renewed sense of hope, freedom, and unity.
I think it's just around the corner.
May the spirit of Christmas bring warmth and joy to every home and may the new year usher in a time of healing and prosperity for all.
In these times of uncertainty, let us remember the strength and resilience that define us as a nation.
May we find common ground and work together to build a brighter future where every voice is heard and every individual feels valued and free.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a new year filled with peace, love, and freedom with heartfelt wishes.
Angela.
Again, Angela, good use of the letters to rebels to send a message to your fellow Canadians.
Colleen Hurley sends me a letter, but I think this one is probably directed at Avi.
Australia needs to have a new government.
Who do you think would be our best Christian leader to lead us out of this mass?
Look, I'm not a theocrat.
I don't need a political leader.
And I know, again, this is for Australia, but the same rings true for Canada, the United States, any free country around the world.
I believe in religious freedom.
I don't need a government to have the same religion as me.
I need a government that leaves me alone to have my religion.
And right now, we don't have a government that respects religious liberty in this country.
Laura Chambers writes, why have you not done any investigative journalism surrounding the fact that all these politicians who support the World Economic Forum and the UN, etc., are selling us out to the new world order when government is treason, plain and simply.
Laura, I'm not sure if you are aware, but I think we are the journalists in this country who do the most investigation into the World Economic Forum, the players behind it.
We go to visit the World Economic Forum every single year, which has been an elected oligarch safe place for a very long time until the rebels started showing up.
I have gone to UN climate change conferences because I realized that the United Nations framework on climate change, the UNFCC, is just another way to control your life using the scary threat of climate change to do that.
And so, I mean, I'm not sure what more you want us to do.
You know, like we're the ones telling you that Mark Carney, who is supposed to be the heir apparent to Justin Trudeau, works not only with the World Economic Forum, but also with the United Nations.
And his role in the United Nations is to de-bank and de-insure major oil and gas projects so that even if they do jump through all the hurdles, which is damn near impossible to get approval in Justin Trudeau's Canada for a major oil and gas project.
But even if they do get it done, he'll make sure they don't get financing for it or insurance for it if they do get financing for it.
See what I mean?
So, I mean, if you're a regular viewer of my show, you know that I routinely have people like Tom Harris from the International Climate Science Coalition.
He's always banging the drum about the crazy people at the United Nations and how they're trying to control your life.
Michelle Sterling from Friends of Science, likewise.
And as I said, we go to Davos every single year.
I've been to climate change conferences put up by the UN in Katowice, Poland, which was a fun one because Poland was not having any of it.
They put the conference next door to the Coal Miners Museum and then had the Coal Miners Marching Band do the opening ceremonies.
In Bonn, Germany, in Morocco.
So I've gone to a few of these things and I will continue to go to them.
I haven't gone to them in a couple of years because they've been having them in some of the less free places of the world, like Azerbaijan.
And then prior to that, it was in Egypt.
And I think also in the United Arab Emirates.
And while I admire the Emirates, it is a benevolent tyranny and they don't like prickly unauthorized journalists there.
Pipelines and Hope00:03:30
And so we just didn't think it was worth the risk.
But I mean, who else is doing that stuff?
Next one is from Jim Piggett.
Hope I'm saying that right, Jim.
And he writes, my wife and I look straight down at the Trans Mountain Westridge Marine Terminal from our sunroom.
There has been, of course, lots of opposition to the TMX pipeline in Burnaby and North Vancouver.
If you think my wife and I would object to TMX because marine tanker loading is right in our view, you'd be wrong.
Thank you very much.
We are happy to see ships sailing out of the port of Vancouver, reaching international markets for Canadian oil.
My question is: what are the markets for this oil and do we get international pricing, not the discounted ones for shipments to the U.S.?
I have an unfortunate bit of information to tell you.
Much of that oil is headed offshore and then looping right back around.
It's going to the refineries, I think, in Cherry Point, Washington, to be refined there and then quite likely sold back to you.
So that's the unfortunate thing is that still we're still getting not exactly global market price for our oil there.
But just opening that pipeline alone has resulted in an uptick in our GDP.
And that pipeline, way over budget, way over the timeline, would have been built for, what was it, $8 billion in the private sector if Justin Trudeau would just get the lunatics out of the way.
But those lunatics are his voting base.
So then he nationalized the pipeline for some reason instead of just doing his job and blew through the budgets way over $30 billion.
It's way over time.
And, but still, an incredible net benefit to the country.
Our GDP went up just by opening one pipeline.
Now imagine, imagine how wealthy we could be if all those other pipelines we wanted to build went ahead.
You know, Northern Gateway through to Smithers and Kitamat.
If Energy East was allowed to go ahead, Keystone XL.
I mean, we should be just spider webbing pipelines out everywhere.
Drill, baby, drill, Alberta jobs, affordable energy for the rest of, well, North America and hopefully the world.
And, you know, prosperity across the country because of that.
But instead, people, but not us Westerners, elected Justin Trudeau.
Very sad.
But Jim, I'm so glad to hear that you are enjoying seeing those beautiful tankers taking away all that black gold because that's just when you see it sail away, you see the money coming in.
And that's, that's Canadians need that right now.
It's a, in spite of itself and the cost overruns, that pipeline is a good news story.
It just never had to be that bad.
Could have been built years ago and it could have been just one of many sister pipelines making Canadians rich.
Instead, this country elected Justin Trudeau.
Hopefully that changes.
Breaking Point00:07:03
You know what?
It's going to change.
I'm so hopeful that it's going to change.
I can't even imagine what Polyev would have to do to destroy his chances in the next election.
I don't even know.
I don't think he will.
I mean, he's been around Ottawa a very long time and he really hasn't done anything stupid.
Like there's no scandals, no skeletons.
And he keeps his family so close to him, right?
Next one from Fred.
How do we find out what qualifications are mandatory for municipal staff?
I don't think there are any.
Clerk and treasurer, my wife and I got served with a no trespass notice back in July for just holding the mayor accountable for his word as he was lying.
Okay, I don't know where you are and I don't know who your mayor is.
I did speak out of turn, but by standing up, they sent my wife and I a no trespass notice from both of us.
My wife said nothing and they falsely accused her.
They even sent copies of the cops.
It's a criminal offense to submit false info to the cops.
A criminal offense.
We have 11 affidavits proving counsel was negligent and we have a recording.
Can you help us?
I don't know anything about your situation, but I can answer your first question.
What qualifications are mandatory for municipal staff?
It varies by municipality, but it could be as few as zero.
If you've had to deal with a bureaucrat, you know that they are immensely unqualified for their jobs, usually.
But my friend David Menzies is very much on the case of government overreach on at the municipal level, silencing people who show up.
We saw this with Nillie Kaplan Mirth.
Remember her?
She was silencing people at the school board meetings.
Concerned parents, you showed up to address issues regarding your children at the school and she would cut their microphones.
So, I mean, as conservatives, this is the one thing I will say without knowing your situation.
We do not pay close enough attention to municipal politics.
If you wonder why the kids are being trans at school, ask yourself when was the last time you paid attention to a school board election.
If you are wondering why your town has a climate strategy that will cost billions of dollars, ask yourself when was the last time you paid attention to the local council election?
When was the last time you tuned in to a city council meeting?
Like, as conservatives, we're thinking too macro sometimes.
We're always worried about Trudeau, and we should be.
And we're worried about, especially here in Alberta, are the NDP going to come back or the poltergeist of the NDP hiding in the closets?
Of course, those things matter, but the politics that are closest to you are the ones that affect you first.
The good news is those are the ones that we can change.
It's easy to flip a school board if you get organized and get ready for it.
And the same thing with municipal politics.
We just, as conservatives, and I say small seat conservatives, not great at putting up candidates.
You know, Calgary has the most unpopular mayor, I think, in the country.
And that's saying something.
But who, who do you see stepping up to replace her in the next election?
Dad McLean, are you listening?
Anyway, let's keep going.
It's from Alan Sislaghi.
I hope I'm saying that right.
After trying to push Christia Freeland under the proverbial bus, Trudeau himself got metaphorically stabbed where it hurt most, his political cojones.
Thanks to Trump, second on chef after Justin, in clownery and his trolling, Freeland's resignation letter, dripping with disdain for Trudeau's waning leadership, was the coupe de grasse for his flailing government.
It echoed Caesar's fateful moment.
A2, Christia.
Except in this case, Caesar didn't need an entire Senate to do him in.
As we watch the circus wrap in its final act, one can only marvel at how far we've fallen.
The sunny ways have long since turned stormy.
Canadians are left with an effed up economy, a fragile social fabric, and a country more divided than ever.
Let this be a warning.
If you support this kind of political clown show or worse, demanded encore, beware of the dire consequences, but he says consequences.
The stage is set for change.
Let's hope the next act isn't another tragic comedy.
I've been saying this all week.
Do not treat Christia Freeland like she is the hero here.
Somebody else described this to me this way.
If a snake eats the fox that ate your chickens, do you hug the snake?
Like, is the snake the good guy?
I don't think so.
I'm not hugging any snake.
And I think the snake is Freeland here.
Freeland deserved 100% to be fired for her fiscal mismanagement at finance.
100%.
However, that's the fiscal mismanagement that Trudeau wanted her to do.
So she was being a loyal soldier.
Her ego is what hurt her.
Or was the breaking point, I should say.
She didn't care about, you know, as you say, the undoing social fabric, the a healthcare system that would sooner euthanize you than treat you, crime, drugs, homelessness, people getting scurvy because they can't afford fresh vegetables, out of control, immigration, fentanyl, all these things.
The fact that now their solution to housing is, have you considered living in a shack in your parents' backyard?
I saw that ad from the liberals this week.
I mean, they're this far from helping you finance a van down by the river.
For Freeland, that was not her breaking.
None of those things were her breaking point.
She didn't care what happened to us.
It was the indignity of being removed from finance, but also being expected to stick her name on the disaster of a fall fiscal update.
And so her pride was hurt.
And so she stuck Trudeau where it hurt right back in his pride.
And she did not resign as an MP, which means she thinks she's going to survive this mess and Trudeau is not.
Because could you be an MP for Trudeau after this mess?
She thinks there's going to be no Trudeau.
I think she's positioning herself to run for leader.
That's what I think.
And God help me.
Stop Glorifying Sexual Preference Exposed00:02:55
Teresa says, I want to ask Santa for something important for Christmas.
Can we please stop glorifying people who insist on flaunting what they do with the parts of their body that are being covered by their bathing suit?
Oh, from your lips to God's ears, Teresa.
I want my grandchildren to enjoy their innocence and not be forced to absorb this growing need to share sexual preference with anyone and everyone, whether they are interested or not.
Thank you, Santa.
Dear Santa, yes, thank you.
I agree.
We long ago used to worry about what was appropriate for children.
Like, that's what the ratings are at movies.
We've decided that there are things that are PG, general, you know, PG-13.
So we decided a long time ago that there is a level of exposure that is appropriate for children.
And society understood this for years, but not anymore.
And there are people out there who make their sexual preferences their entire identity.
Why?
You don't have anything else to offer to the world?
Is that it?
You think that that's what makes you special?
I have some theories about this stuff, and I think it has to do with the erasing God from the culture.
You know, people seem to be chasing specialness.
And for some people, they confuse specialness with weirdness.
And so that's why everybody wants to be neurodivergent.
And it's just like, no, you're quirky.
That's about it.
Or you're socially awkward.
You're not neurodivergent.
That's why everybody wants to be in the LGBTQ plus AI something, something, something or other group.
They want to be in the special group.
And we used to understand that there was something that made us special that was endowed to us by our creator.
We didn't pursue it from outside.
We knew that it lived within us because we understood deeply in our fiber that we were special by virtue of being created in the image of God.
And then we removed God from the culture so people have no understanding of just how special they are.
That they're unique individuals whom God so loved that we were created to reflect him.
And once that was gone, the void was filled by something awful.
A pursuit of specialness at all costs, whatever it might look like.
And boy, it looks crazy.
Next one is from Scott.
Keep Up The Great Work00:08:33
Dear Rebel reporter, keep up the great work.
I hope one day to be able to give you a big hug when we are finally free from the Tyrant Trudeau.
Merry Christmas.
I think there's going to be lots of hugs all across the country.
Alex says, Hi, Sheila.
Rebel News does a much better job of reporting the news than the CBC.
I call the CBC the Canadian Brainwashing Corporation.
I was wondering if you could do some more stories on the COVID vaccines.
I never got any of the toxic poison jabs myself because I have critical thinking skills.
Tucker Carlson said he never got them either because he knew the people pushing them were lying frauds.
I wrote the following on Facebook many times.
The COVID jab is slow, is a slow kill depopulation bioweapon injection.
Very few news outlets report on the so-called vaccines with the exception of LifeSight News.
Someday the truth will be revealed because as Wise King Solomon wrote, a lie has a short life, but the truth lives on forever.
Proverbs, Proverbs 1219.
You know who really does excellent journalism on COVID vaccines is my friend Tamara Egolini.
I think she is the preeminent medical journalist in this country.
And so while I sort of watch a lot of this stuff out of the corner of my eye, my interest in it is the civil liberties aspect.
For example, why did we have to tell our bartenders our medical status before he could pour us a draft?
Like, what?
Why were people coerced into taking a vaccine so they could exercise their Section 6 charter right to travel?
Why did people have to suddenly divulge their medical status to go to watch their kids play hockey?
I mean, medical privacy was thrown out the window.
For me, it's the civil liberties implication of the vaccines that really drives me crazy.
And the financial waste.
I did a story a very long time ago about the a store, but a little town in the far northern part of Alberta.
And that town never introduced a vaccine mandate.
And it's a town of about 3,000 people.
And When they didn't impose a vaccine mandate, it's basically Mackenzie County is the county that did it.
And it's like Mackenzie County encompasses a huge part of northern Alberta.
And they said, not only are we not doing this to our people, if you want to do business in Mackenzie County, you cannot have a vaccine mandate.
And that caused the gas companies because there's a lot of gas wells up there to drop their vaccine mandates.
And the uptake for the vaccines without coercion was 30%.
And so that's the power of coercion.
But like it was like less than 30% actually took the vaccine, thought it was effective, felt like they needed it.
And they came out of the pandemic much quicker than the rest of us.
So, but all that is to say, if you would like more information on vaccine journalism, might I suggest to Mary Igolini.
Bernie McCluskey says his letters, nothing special.
Just Merry Christmas to all of the Rebel News.
Sheila, please tell Danielle, I think Danielle Smith, we love her.
I think she knows that.
I really feel like Danielle Smith is feeling the love of Albertans, but also feeling the love of Canadians who feel like she is fighting for them.
As I said in an interview earlier today, I think she is the de facto foreign affairs minister of this country at this point.
Bernie says, I personally wish she was our prime minister.
Sorry, Pierre, like you too.
Danielle, I love you.
You do.
Sheila, you rock.
I love women with looks and brains.
Keep it up, Rebel.
Well, that's very nice of you.
Tammy, she says, I love all the information you have on TV.
You are a great person.
Merry Christmas.
Let's get rid of Trudeau.
That would be a great Christmas present.
You know, my t-shirt, my sweater, although it's difficult to read because I work in front of a green screen.
So the green writing actually shows up blue because you're seeing the background through.
This is in our Rebel News store.
You should order it for next year.
It's Jingle Bells Trudeau Smells.
And you know what?
Even if Trudeau isn't the prime minister next year, it'll always be true.
He stinks.
Louisa, to all you wonderful rebels, thank you for all that you do, bringing truth without fear.
With persistent dedication, Canada loves you.
The truth will set us free.
You know what?
Great letter to end on.
Thank you very much.
I think so too.
Thanks to everybody who supported us here at Rebel News in 2024.
I realize that Justin Trudeau is making it more expensive than ever.
And he already forces you to support media companies that you don't want to support.
And it's not just the CBC now.
It's every single media outlet, save for like a handful of independent ones.
They've all been CBCified.
And so I realize in this time of intense inflation, food inflation, energy inflation, your dollar does not go as far as it used to.
It's shrinking, shrinking, shrinking.
And now the Canadian dollar is like, as I'm filming this, like 69 cents to the American dollar.
So what I'm saying is, from us here at Rebel News, from my family to yours, thank you so much for choosing us.
I know you have a lot of choices out there.
And it means a lot to me, my family, and I know the team at Rebel News to have your support for you cheering for us, supporting us financially, sharing our work, telling your friends about us.
And for me personally, for praying for us.
It's a dark, evil world out there.
And I really truly believe it is a battle we fight between good and evil.
And those prayers do help.
We feel them.
know them.
And here's my promise to you in 2025.
I will continue to do everything I can to hold Justin Trudeau to account, but not just Justin Trudeau.
I will hold the conservatives to account for the promises that they are making to you.
I will hold them to account for the times when they are not conservative, when they forget where they came from.
And if you don't believe that I will do that, just ask Jason Kenny.
And I'm hopeful.
I'm hopeful in 2025.
I feel like we're at the end of a very dark tunnel.
But with that, the work begins anew.
We are going to see Justin Trudeau fighting to censor his critics like never before in 2025.
And you know that means us.
So the battle isn't over.
I think a lot of it is just starting, but I believe with all my heart that we will win because eventually good always wins, doesn't it?
Okay, well, on that note, if you'd like to send me a letter, you can send me letters every single day, not just at the end of the year and at the end of the show.
I usually turn the show over to you.
Last segment is yours.
I read your letters, your comments on our YouTube videos.
So send me a letter, Sheila at RebelNews.com.
You might just see it read on air.
Thank you, everybody.
Merry Christmas.
Happy New Year.
Let's get a new prime minister for Christmas and reclaim what's left of this great country.
Thanks to everybody who works behind the scenes at Rebel News to put the show together.
They really worked hard in 2024.
They make us in front of the camera look smart and articulate.
And boy, that's a lot of work with somebody like me.
