Ezra Levante showcases Rebel News’ unfiltered field reports, from confronting Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla at Davos—unaccredited—to grilling WEF trustee Chrystia Freeland about her SUV use and bug-eating claims during a climate crisis. Clips include security blocking interviews with CNBC’s editor and masked protesters accusing Rebel News of intimidation at a "love is love" rally, while East Palestine residents detail toxic vinyl chloride evacuations and blame Norfolk Southern for contaminated soil. In France, Levante clashes with protesters defending colonialism as non-racist and justifying explicit cultural performances for kids, questioning their loyalties. Rebel News’ raw, on-the-ground approach contrasts with opinion-driven conservative media, proving truth-to-power journalism thrives outside controlled narratives. [Automatically generated summary]
It's us out in the world, out in the field, getting stories.
And you never know what you're going to find when you're out amongst the people.
So some of our best videos are field reports.
Hey, I want you to see this, not just hear it on the podcast.
So to see it, you have to get your Rebel News Plus subscription.
It's eight bucks a month.
You get access to my nightly show, Sheila Gunnread's weekly show.
And that eight bucks might not sound like a lot to you, but it really adds up for us.
It's how we pay our bills, given that we've been demonetized by YouTube and Trudeau would never give us money, not that we would ever take it from him.
So that's RebelNewsPlus.com.
All right, here's today's podcast.
Tonight, the best of rebel field reports.
It's August 18th, and this is the Ezra Levance show.
Shame on you, you sensorious bug.
Hey, great to see you.
We call Rebel field reports anything that the rebel does outside in the world.
Now, most of the time, our reporters are out in the world, but a field report typically means we're on a bit of an adventure.
For example, right now, we've sent a small crew, Alexa Lavoie and Lincoln Jay, and frankly, I might go and join them, to do a special report from the shocking and tragic and life-destroying wildfires in Maui.
Oh, this is no vacation.
So right now, those intrepid reporters are out there trying to see what's going on.
Sometimes field reports are not that dramatic.
Sometimes, for example, it's us going down to Lethbridge to cover the trial of Arthur Pavlovsky or some of the Coots truckers who are charged with crime.
Sometimes a field report is when we collected a petition and we hand deliver it to a decision maker.
One of my favorites was when Sheila Gunn Reid accosted that mask aficionado in Ottawa.
I don't know.
Field reports are really anything we do out in the field.
It's sort of obvious.
But when we decided at Rebel News to make going in the field our priority rather than just commentaries in the studio, I think it really changed things.
If you were to ask me the number one impactful video we've done, well, I couldn't answer you because there's so many, but the one that I, I guess, is close to my heart because I was in it along with Avi Yamini was when we were on an excursion on a field trip to the World Economic Forum in Davos.
Now, of course, we were not accredited.
We were not allowed in.
We were sort of meandering around the secure perimeter.
And who did we spot but Albert Burla, the chief executive of Pfizer?
It was an adrenaline rush.
I saw him and I knew we had just moments to get our best questions together.
Like, you've been thinking about Albert Buhler now for 30 seconds since I mentioned it, but I tell you, we saw him and in five seconds, we were on him.
And we didn't know, would we have him at our disposal for 30 seconds or 10 minutes?
And so we tried to muster the best questions we could.
I was sort of stammering a bit, but then Avi came in.
That's a field report.
And I think it made all the difference in the world.
What do I mean?
Anyone can have an opinion.
And there's some people whose opinion I value very much.
I learn a lot from them.
But an opinion on what?
An opinion on an underlying fact.
And that underlying fact most likely happens somewhere out in the world as opposed to in an office and on your computer.
So I think one of the things that sets Rebel News apart from other commentators and conservative media outlets is that we are out there where the action is happening.
And, you know, just last weekend, we had a student conference for the Democracy Fund, and Rebel News was there, and Derek Filderrand at Western Standard was there, and Andrew Lawton and Harrison Faulkner of True North were there.
We had this student seminar, student journalism event, and getting the students to go out into the world and do real reporting, we had sort of an assignment and a test.
That makes all the difference in the world.
Why Not Good?00:15:22
People need to chew something over.
When you're talking about something, what is that thing?
That thing, most often is a field report.
All right, I'm over talking it.
Let me get out of the way.
Today, the best of Rebel Field Reports.
Isaac, can you just do an audience?
Yeah.
How are you today?
Hello?
How are you?
No good?
Why not?
Why is it no good?
Feeling his nickname.
But it's a free country, right?
Thanks very much.
All the best.
Bye-bye.
thank you thank you thank you oh miss freeland how you doing there How have you designated David Menzies Rebel News?
Hold on.
Did anybody invite you?
Who are you?
I'm who I am.
I am who I am.
Ms. Freeland.
Please.
When are you going to Davos?
You know what?
If you're not invited here, sir, you're trespassing.
Who are you?
I'm with your CMP.
Oh, really?
Oh, are you going to beat me up then?
No, we're asking you to leave.
I'll charge you with trespassing if you don't leave right now.
Thank you.
So you don't believe in a free press then?
I believe in everything, but please leave.
Why was Christia Freeland against the WEF?
Please leave.
When she was not in politics and now she's a member of the Board of Trustees.
Please leave.
Why is that, sir?
Please leave.
Will Christia Freeland be eating bugs in Davos?
Please leave.
Will she?
Please leave.
I think they've made it quite clear.
If we're in a climate, if we're in a climate crisis.
No, I'm leaving.
Hey, excuse me.
We want to rescue you.
Okay, then.
Why does she come here in a SUV burning fossil fuels?
All right, sir.
We've got a doctor to do thank you very much.
Oh, what is your job?
He's asked you to leave the property.
I'll leave my job.
Leave the property, please.
Thank you.
So you guys don't believe in a free press then, right?
Hey, Doris, can I ask you what CNBC is doing here?
I can't ask you.
No.
You can't believe it.
Don't bother you didn't put a camera in my face.
Thank you.
Really?
But you're here as an invited guest and you're an editor for CNBC.
Don't you think that's a bit of a conflict of interest?
I'd like you to go away.
I haven't agreed to an interview.
If you're doorstepping me, go away.
Seriously, take the mic out of you.
Don't touch the mic.
But what's that way for me, Bob?
You're meant to be speaking truth to power.
Are you here just to take your marching orders?
Is that what you're here for?
Do you want to go away?
Not really.
I'm here to do what you should be doing.
Yeah?
Please take this out of my mouth.
I don't know how to just store it off for security.
All right.
Do that.
There you go.
CNBC.
Their job is supposed to be doing what he's complaining I'm doing.
And now he's calling security to escort me off the premises.
What's the problem?
You're my profile.
You've been very rude to me this morning.
I haven't asked me anything, so I'd like you to take the camera off me.
I've literally asked you questions politely, which should be your job.
That's your job, sir.
I'm doing your job.
I'm just not getting paid for by Klaus Schwab.
All right, okay.
All right, so we've officially been backed into a corner of the library at the so-called peaceful love is love rally.
The supporters of the event have told us not to antagonize Bangkok!
Back off!
You are intimidating me!
I don't feel safe!
Hold on!
She's like, please don't!
She's on the other side, but please back off!
Let me do my job!
You guys are horrible!
Are you okay?
You guys are cowards, you know?
Wearing their masks!
I'm a people assaulting women!
You guys are cowards!
You guys are cowards!
Cowards!
Coward!
So, was that an official police report my security just gave you?
Can I have your badge number, sir?
34423.
And did you just take our report seriously from my security?
Yes, I did.
Okay, do we get a file number?
No, you can call the non-emergency number and get that file number.
How are you?
How are you doing, Mark?
We're back.
Let's go for a walk.
Let's go for a walk.
How are you?
I'm seeing you for agents.
They're saying that you're going to be the next prime.
I didn't know this.
The next prime minister of Canada, potentially.
What?
That's what I'm hearing.
So, tell me.
How good are your sources?
I don't know.
Listen, what are you trying to find?
Can you tell me where the UAE puts?
Yeah, I know.
We can walk together.
I'll walk in.
Stop here.
What's your name again?
Abby Yamini.
Abby, and where are you based?
In Australia, I'm asking the questions.
What?
Justin Trudeau.
Justin Trudeau was condemning China for the treatment of lockdown protesters after what he did to the truckers.
Do you think he should apologize?
Look, we're not doing a walking interview.
We've done this before.
never sit down with me so just I'm trying to I'm looking in my inbox for the requests that you sent in for the interview What happened?
Probably in your spam.
It was a mess.
A mess.
I took my wife to the doctor and coming back from the doctor, we couldn't even get back to our house.
And we had no clothes, no medicine, nothing.
We had to go to Youngstown to get a room.
One of those chemicals is vinyl chloride, which is extremely toxic to humans.
We're still very nervous about it because they keep coming up with contaminated water problems.
And I don't know.
I'm even half afraid to shop.
Fast forward to today.
The evacuation order has been lifted.
We've already spoken to residents on the ground and many of them simply feel that there isn't much transparency here.
My kids, we're just running in to grab something and then we're going back to grandma's house because they keep breaking out in rashes.
Kids do.
Yeah.
So.
So you kind of answered my next question.
Do you feel like it's safe here right now?
I feel like we're not being told everything.
I know something came out yesterday about them covering up contaminated soil when they rebuilt the railroad instead of pulling it out like they promised.
So.
But many of the residents are pointing the blame at Norfolk Southern, the company responsible for the train.
Do you think it's safe here right now?
I don't know, to me they're keeping everything kind of hush-hush.
You know, they're not telling everybody everything.
The basic tactic of the people that are against the convoy in Antifa.
Yeah, you're part of the Muma Antifa, I believe.
Anyway, so they try to stop us to record their board and their message that they try to show.
Ah, this quick squeak.
Can you explain me why you use that?
Why you use that?
Woo!
I was always news in Canada.
You will never, never, never, never get it.
Show me your sign.
Do you understand me?
I'm not going to tell you again.
Excuse me.
Can you beat?
Stop it.
Got him.
You don't put the car.
Give me that for me.
Hey!
I'm gonna throw that way into that.
Let me doing my job.
I'm going.
I'm going.
Give me that fucking car.
I'm going to show you.
I'm going to burn that for.
You?
You go away.
You go away.
Put that fire.
You go away.
You don't touch my stuff.
Don't touch me.
Going to report your car.
But you win this.
See, that police is winners.
Don't talk me.
Don't talk to me.
Don't want to come into my car.
Shut the fuck up, man.
Don't talk me much.
But Mike, you're telling me to stop.
You're talking to me.
I'm talking to you.
I don't understand you.
I don't understand you.
Fuck yourself.
Do you know who I am?
Do you want to know who I am?
Do you want to know?
Well, it's to all.
Thank you very much.
You too.
Keep on doing what you do best.
This is why.
This is why.
This is exactly what it causes.
Damn.
I'm good.
Is there a reason you're blocking me from using the sidewalk?
Obstruction.
They're working here.
I'm not gonna obstruct them.
Don't worry, I'm not gonna run.
I'm not going to worry about you.
We're just going to stay out of the workspace.
Do you mind if I ask you what he's being arrested for?
You're going to revive your identification.
Pardon?
Will you provide your ID?
For you to answer the question?
Yeah.
Okay.
Why is he being arrested?
He has warrants out for his arrest.
Multiple, so that's two way, I believe.
I don't know.
Okay, do you know what the warrants are for?
Wow.
Am I allowed to continue on the sidewalk as this lady is walking on the sidewalk?
It doesn't look like she's disrupting.
Thank you very much.
I'm just going to go to that sidewalk across the street.
Is that okay?
you.
Can I just ask if people want to help you, where do they go?
They can go and contact Rebel.
They're providing me with a lawyer.
This is what happens when we go against the Drake.
There's so many homeless here, and they're bringing people from other countries where there's people here struggling with mental illness.
The issue starts at our southern border, where the U.S. has declined to enforce proper immigration.
And you allow them to live in a hotel, but yet the major crisis of homelessness is very, very big.
So I'm in Wroxham Road and I'm waiting actually for Lincoln G to arrive.
He just arrived in Pattsburg and he took a cab.
Just like that, I'm in the back of a taxi cab waiting to go to Wroxham Road.
Why wouldn't you ask that?
You're running across the border.
We have to go to police while looking that regardless of whether it's LGBT or straight, we shouldn't be shoving it down kids' throats regardless.
We should allow them to discover themselves whether or not we push our personal beliefs onto children.
I think that's wrong and we shouldn't.
But people are going to do what they're going to do with their kids and I mean they're going to find it anyway.
I might as well give them the right information.
You can do anything else.
Anything else.
You can do anything else.
Do you guys believe in free press?
You don't touch me, sir.
Can you give me some...
That was broke.
Whoa.
Wait a push me into the road.
Yeah.
Get out of here.
They're not even Jews.
Get out of here.
Stop touching us.
Give us some fucking faith, bro.
You're fully covered.
It's not like we know who you are.
I'm not giving you the option to go talk to these people.
That's Treya from Rebel News.
She's a propaganda.
I'm not hiding who I am.
Do you want me to wear a name tag so you don't have to introduce me every time?
Can I interview you?
Can I ask why you protest something if you don't want what you're protesting to be heard?
I'm not listening to you.
Do you want people to change their mind or you just want to yell at people?
What is the cause?
What's the purpose of yelling at people if you don't want to try to convince them to change?
Generalism is not an opinion.
People are suggesting you would be good to talk to.
Maybe you'll have a rational conversation.
I don't think that matters.
But why not?
If you fight fascism, that means you want opinions to be heard, right?
So we're the largest independent media in Canada.
Wouldn't you want your opinion to be heard?
Maybe some people can resonate with what you're here for.
People listening to you don't want to listen.
What do you think, the people listening to me, who do you think they are?
I'm not engaging with them.
Okay, well, I was talking to this gentleman.
Or sorry if I misgendered.
You're dressing inappropriately in front of children.
Can you believe it, folks?
Threatened Into Silence00:11:19
Like a cornered rat, he ran for the hills.
He didn't even have the guts to come back to his car.
He's abandoned it here.
He called an Uber and he's skedaddled.
Well, who knows where?
I guess he's got to come back for his car at some point.
Maybe he's going to have it towed to his condo.
But did you notice?
No breasts.
But, Lemieux, I thought you told the world via the New York Post and the Toronto Sun that those were real Mammary glands.
So did you have them surgically removed?
And if you did, my goodness, have you really recovered quickly?
And you know, it's too bad he's so camera shy.
Who'd have thunk it?
I mean, he filmed his skydiving event with Canada's foremost conservative porn star.
That was plastered all over the world's media.
But I wanted to get to the bottom of those boobs.
Hi, I'm Sheila Gunread with Rebel News.
Good day.
And I was just wondering how you respond to Regina businesswomen who object to you being the keynote speaker at the Women of Distinction Awards being threatened and doxxed online for, I guess, the crime of disagreeing with you.
Faye?
Have a good day.
I'm gonna.
I think you might too.
Do you think it's okay for those women to be threatened for disagreeing with you?
Like, I think that's an easy response.
You should say, yes, I don't think women should be threatened for disagreeing with me.
I don't think you should be threatened for disagreeing with me.
Faye, do you think those women should be threatened?
Because they are being threatened.
They're being kicked off of social media.
Biological women are being silenced simply for disagreeing with you.
Do you think that's fair?
Do you think that they should be threatened?
I think that's an easy response.
No, I don't think people should be threatened.
Okay.
Bye, Faye.
You police, you should be arresting Antifa.
They're the ones that attack him.
What are you cowards doing?
You're resting this guy.
Goss, do you have anything to say about this?
Say it.
Just say it.
One of the core things that Cindy and I do is I should go through the grievance process.
This was actually to give us.
Mr. Lemieux, I see you've got your breasts back on.
I thought you had them amputated.
Why are you protecting a sexual pervert?
Excuse me.
Hey, that's us.
Stay.
Are you kidding me?
Are you kidding me at him?
That's a sign.
Stay.
Are you kidding me?
Get out.
Are you kidding me at him?
That is so bad.
That's a salt.
I'm going this way.
Who are you?
Who are you?
I'm David Menzies with Rebel News.
Okay, well, you can go.
Okay.
Did you say I can go?
Yeah.
Okay.
I'm having difficulty.
Oh, is that?
I'm having trouble hearing you with your face diaper on, actually.
Oh, my God.
So why do you want me to go?
Isn't this not a publicly funded school board?
Who's that?
This teacher over there.
Oh, you speak for Mr. Debono.
He's unable to himself.
I thought he was an educated man.
Yeah, because y'all are idiots.
So that's awesome.
So you're just a bigot.
You can go.
Oh, what makes me a bigot, ma'am?
Or sir?
I'm not sure.
I didn't misgender you, did I?
Oh, please, go f ⁇ yourself.
Oh, that's not very ladylike.
Oh, no, no, you're f ⁇ ing misgendering me.
Ladylike.
No, well, what are you exactly?
No, no, you're a f ⁇ ing business.
What are you?
But you said I misgendered you.
If I don't know what you are, how can I not misgender you?
I just need to get some supplies.
A cooker, some syringes.
Can I get both?
Yeah, can you just get me whatever?
Like, thank you.
Yeah.
Excuse me.
So the kids have everything at a place.
Okay.
This is it?
Okay.
If I have friends, too, like, do they have to be a certain age to come here?
So, like, if they're 15, 16, that's okay.
All right.
Thanks, guys.
As you just saw, my producer and I were supplied with pipes and syringes in just a few minutes' time.
If you ever walk by this location, you will almost always see groups of people hanging around outside.
some using drugs right in the open, outside of the facility.
Would you folks do a video interview with me?
Nope.
And tell me why you're here?
Is there any way I can persuade you?
How about you?
No remarks beyond.
Would you talk to me for a moment?
Is this yes?
Is that no?
Okay, I guess not.
I'm not that charming.
I'm not that persuasive.
Would you do a video interview with me?
I guess that's a no.
Would you be willing to do a video interview with me?
No particular reason why?
How about you?
Would you do a video interview with me and tell me why you're here today?
Is that a no?
Hi there.
Hi.
I work great.
Thank you.
Ms. Kaplan Murray?
Hi.
You were going to read with Rebel News.
I just wanted to...
No, don't.
Rebel News!
No, you will back off.
You will back off.
You will back off right now.
I'm trying to get back a petition with HD.
You will back off.
No, you may not come in.
You may not come in.
You do not have permission to come in.
That door is closed.
You may not.
Wow.
Yeah.
We are the security guard here.
Thank you.
Thank you.
So, Heather.
Heather.
This gentleman's with CTV.
Good guy.
Hello.
Good guy.
Excuse me.
So CTV can go in.
Why can't CTV go in, but you can?
You said he was a good guy.
What makes him good and us bad?
You are.
Excuse me, you just didn't interview a CTV, so you're not averse to speaking to the media.
What is your job here at the Ottawa Carleton District School Board?
I bet by your silence, you're communications on.
Is there a reason why you won't speak to us?
What do you want to talk about?
Well, first of all, I want to know what you do here.
you work for the public, then surely you should be able to tell us what you do on behalf of the taxpayer or the parents of the Ottawa Carleton District School Board.
Right, and so what did you want to talk about?
Well, I wanted to deliver this petition.
It's got 8,000 signatures on it, people who disagree with the actions of Nillie Kaplan-Mirth, silencing parents in person and then having two change.org petitions taken down.
Right.
And that's why I started my own petition to give a voice to the parents that you will not provide.
Right.
So, I mean, you can talk to her about that.
I tried, but somebody slammed the door and called security as though I'm some sort of security risk.
You don't think so.
You're standing awfully close to me.
I never felt right.
I asked one gentleman, who's first in your heart, France or Algeria?
And that's a tough one to answer.
I mean, maybe there's a hint of a dual loyalty there.
If someone were to say to me, Ezra, who's first in your heart?
Israel or Canada?
Well, I know the answer has to be Canada.
And if that's not the case, I shouldn't live in Canada.
You should love the country you're in, you're born in, that you're a citizen of.
Don't vote and Algerie or French premier.
Viv la Gérie, just more.
But monsieur, if you suit French numeral, you racist.
We pass, I die, and I repetition, all right.
Jacques à problems surrounded, we lived, the party au bondieu, and we laid a bonu, we lived the limit.
It's good, there you are.
I found a contradiction in one of the gentlemen because he said we're not treated with respect as Frenchmen, but we don't put France first.
Do you see the distinction there?
Do you see the contradiction there?
Well, frankly, everything that's happening here is related to the state.
Everything is the fault of the police, it's the fault of the state.
Because here in France, there's too much racism.
The racism is in the first degree here in France.
That's all I have to say.
That's all.
Why millions of Muslims immigrate to France if France is racist?
And they colonize 100 years, and it is our tour of vulnerability for how to explain to the world.
They colonize 100 years, and we will colonize the view.
You are.
I will say, I'm not in the voyage.
Tomorrow, we will say, it's the definition of good vibes, everyone, their mother, in fact, when our François is not.
If you want to change to these families that are not necessarily children, because 17% of ourselves is all, but it's not just what it is, but these are like these children, it's safe, for 10%.
Middle of the Afternoon Parade00:00:59
Sometimes.
What do you mean by sometimes?
It depends on how sexually explicit the performers are during the dances and the shows.
And at most Familial speaker like explicitly, but three o'clock in the morning, no.
But this sort of thing, middle of the afternoon, the parade, I think it's a great educational experience for kids and bring it on.
I think that's one of the things that sets Rebel News apart.
We're in the field, we're not just chewing over the facts that someone else broke.
