Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24-7 podcast.
And greetings once again to you, music lovers, thrill seekers, conversationalist fans of the unpredictable.
Free wheeling free dealers.
Great to have you with us on Friday here in the live from the Southern Command in sunny South Florida.
It's open line Friday.
Open line Friday.
By the way, you know, it so rarely happens, and I think I'm going to mention it.
If you disagree with me, you can call.
I know that the people who don't like me, they don't disagree with me.
They don't like me because they they believe a bunch of garbage that they think they know that's been found in the drive-by media.
And if you disagree, you can call.
I'm the politest host in history, including at the present time.
Open line Friday, whatever you want to talk about, folks.
Here's the telephone number, 800 282-2882 in the email address, L Rushbo at EIVNet.com.
You know, I like to make the complex understandable.
I like to take things that are intricately deeply woven webs of deceit and untangle it all and try to make it as much uh as much of it understandable as possible.
And I think I can do that here today with a summary of what is dominating the news today.
Here is a summary of what is dominating the news today.
The Secretary of State's chief of staff.
That would be Hillary Clinton in her old job, chief of staff of Cheryl Mills, was interviewing Applicants for the Clinton Crime Family Foundation.
While she was at state, not supposed to do that.
What's going on at any public officeholders foundation, you're not supposed to mingle what's going on because you're selling influence.
You're not supposed to do it.
Secretary of State cannot influence or do otherwise interview candidates, interview, accept donations or this kind of thing, using the power of the office that that candidate holds.
It's it's it's not like it's a law, it's it's an ethical breach.
And it was going on big time.
Cheryl Mills, the chief of staff to Hillary Clinton at the Department of State, was interviewing applicants and donors and other interested parties at the Clinton Foundation while she was chief of staff to the Secretary of State.
The Secretary of State's chief aide, that would be Huma Danger Wiener, connected Clinton Foundation donors to the Department of State.
That's not supposed to happen.
That again is a huge ethical breach and violation.
There are lines of separation or demarcation there that are not to be crossed.
And in both instances, Hillary Clinton employees, Chief Aide, Chief of Staff, while she was Secretary of State, were commingling people and funds and who influence who knows what else.
while Hillary was Secretary of State.
While all of this was going on, the Secretary of State, one Hillary Rodham Clinton, directed her Internet Technology chief to build an illegal, private, hidden server in order to connect the Department of State with the Clinton Crime Family Foundation.
And that private server has been long ago discovered.
And when it was discovered, the Department of State said, wait, you can't do that.
Well, the Department of State didn't say that, everybody else did.
And the FBI said, hey, you can't do that, and we want the emails from that server.
And Mrs. Clinton said, okay, I'll look at them and try to determine which ones you might want to look at, which ones would be boring to you.
There were total of 60,000 emails on the private server that she should not have had.
And she said that 33,000 of them had to do with yoga lessons and her daughter's wedding, and promptly deleted them.
The other 30,000 she sent to the FBI, And that's why we got a press conference, the director of the FBI listing all of the crimes that she committed while telling us that it wouldn't probably be worth the time to prosecute her, but there were clear violations of law.
Every bit of this, all three of these essential summaries of what's in the news today are highly unethical and probably criminal.
But the big news of the day is that Donald Trump really stepped in it, trying to be sarcastic.
That's the big news of the day.
That is, you know, Trump, I know exactly what Trump's doing before he does it.
I know what he's doing when he does it.
I know how he's trying to do it.
This whole business of Trump for the past two days insisting that Obama was the founder of ISIS.
And you may have heard that he appeared on a radio talk show hosted by the estimable Hugh Hewitt, in which the estimable Hugh Hewitt gave Trump three or four different outs to agree.
Yeah, that's what I really meant.
I meant that Obama got out of Iraq and left the place vulnerable and ISIS moved in.
ISIS founded itself and created, but Trump refused to take the offer and continued to say, nope, he founded it.
He founded it.
Then, when the proverbial excrement hit the fan, now Trump is saying, wait a minute, I was just being sarcastic, and everybody knows it.
And that's what the big story is today.
That's generally how it works each and every day.
We're going to tackle some of this and more.
There is incredible climate change news today.
Now I know many of you come out, Rush.
You've said everything there is about climate change, and then some.
Turns out I haven't.
And based on what the data is in today's news, I have opinions that I really haven't.
I mean, you might think that I've explored and shared with you every opinion I have on this, but this has inspired some new thoughts, which we will share with there's you know something else there is an investigation.
There is an investigation of the Clinton Crime Family Foundation.
And folks, I have to tell you something.
As I'm wandering through the news last night and today, and even during the day yesterday, as I'm preparing this program, it is stunning how so many reporters and commentators and guests and analysts in the drive-by media are really, really worried about this whole Hillary Clinton email business.
And not this new investigation that we thought yesterday wasn't happening.
It turns out it is happening.
It's just it's not happening for the DOJ.
But the FBI is looking into the Crinton Clinton Crime Family Foundation.
It's being run out of the Manhattan U.S. Attorney's Office.
And the FBI there, it's not now, it could still eventuate that Loretta Lynch in Washington at the full DOJ would say to the New York office of the Manhattan attorneys on screw it, we're not doing with it.
But the investigation is happening.
But even before you get there, just what has been learned to date, it's amazing how many people in the drive-by media really do believe that there are deep enough and long enough legs in this story that this could have a huge damaging effect on her candidacy.
Now, why would they think that?
Because up till now they've been poo-pooing the whole idea that, well, it's email, it's not it's no big deal.
We know everything there is to know about it.
Comey said he's not going to prosecute.
Comey said nobody would prosecute.
And yet, of all the things, of all the things out there that you would think that I would think might make Hillary Clinton's campaign vulnerable, that might cause her problems.
It's this, it's this email thing, it's the fear that WikiLeaks has more and is holding whatever they're going to dump next until October.
There is fear that she has so blatantly lied about all of this that there's no way it can't come back and bite her, and that it will be made understandable to people, to voters Who right now may find it just too complicated to care about.
It's stunning how worried they are.
I will share details of what I'm talking about as we get to the audio sound bites and uh other elements in the in the news today.
And the Washington Post, how many of you people, just in your consumption of the news every day, have concluded that the drive-by stink this is over.
I mean, it's fixed.
Trump's finished.
Trump doesn't have a prayer.
I mean, that's the narrative each day.
That seems to be the foundation of every story that's out there.
You hear stories.
Now there's fundraising problems at the RNC that Republicans down the ballot are urging Rince Prebis to stop spending any money on Trump, that it's a waste of money.
Trump's saying, what do you mean stop spending money on me?
I'm the guy raising the money.
Screw you!
If you stop spending the money on me, you're not gonna have any money because I'm the only guy raising money for you.
Meanwhile, down ballot Republicans, fearing that they're gonna lose in a landslide, are demanding the RNC essentially concede that fact, forget the Trump campaign because it's over, and start trying to save the House and the Senate.
And of course, we had the 50 former national security aides, Republicans, all writing or signing a letter claiming that Trump's outrageously unqualified and unfit.
And there is a great response to this one today that I can't wait to share with you.
But amidst all of this, amidst all of this narrative that Trump's finished, the election's over.
It's gone.
There's nothing he can do.
He's so far down in the polls.
There's no way.
There's no way he can make any of it back.
This seems to be the narrative.
And yet, the drive-bys are worried, silly over Hillary's email scam.
Not all of them, but a lot of them are.
And I will just share the headline with you.
If Donald Trump wins in 2016, remember this one poll number.
And I said, whoa, what do you mean if Donald Trump wins?
I thought everybody at the Washington Post and the New York Times and CNN and everywhere else had Trump buried already.
This campaign was finished.
It's over, and that is what they're trying to make everybody think.
So I was intrigued because I'm a person of endless curiosity.
Stories by somebody named Aaron Blake, and it begins this way Donald Trump is struggling in the polls, and he doesn't seem to have any desire to change anything.
By the way, that's another part of this.
The drive-by seem to think Trump's okay with losing now, because he's talking about how great a life he's gonna have if he loses.
Oh yeah, yeah, I'll be able to relax, put my feet up, it's gonna be great.
They're hearing that as he doesn't even care anymore.
Trump's so convinced he's gonna lose he's even talking about it.
And yet, if Donald Trump wins in 2016, remember this one poll number.
In fact, Aaron Blake quotes Trump as saying yesterday morning he'll just keep doing the same thing I'm doing right now, no need to change.
I'm gonna keep doing everything I did that got me victorious in the primaries.
Why should I change anything?
And Trump is quoted as saying, at the end, it's either gonna work or I'm gonna, well, I'm gonna have a very, very nice long vacation, he added.
And indeed, some are starting to predict that Trump is due for a very, very nice long vacation after November 8th.
But if he's not, writes Aaron Blake, remember this poll number.
And here it is.
In its new survey, Bloomberg attempted to approximate Trump's view of the state of affairs in the country.
And it did the same for Hillary Clinton.
So here is the Trump description.
It didn't name him, but it's obvious.
What what Bloomberg did here is present to people in their poll two descriptions of the current state and direction of the country and asked People to choose which one they most or more identified with.
So here is the Trump description.
The U.S. is in a dark and dangerous place with threats from overseas and within our borders.
Here's the Hillary Clinton description, or the description of America that Bloomberg associates with Hillary.
The U.S. is in a strong position for progress on the economy and national security.
So voters in this poll were given two options to sign on with whichever direction they think the country's headed in.
Again, U.S. is in a dark and dangerous place, threats from overseas and within our borders, or what Hillary's out trying to say.
Hey, things are great.
We got a strong position here on our economy, recovery is right around the corner, it's gonna grow like crazy, and our national security has never been better.
Given those two options, and this is a likely voter poll, fifty-six percent chose the negative version of the current status of America.
Forty percent picked the Clinton version.
Now that's a total of 96, so 4% were undecided.
This is a 16-point advantage for Trump.
So Mr. Blake is saying, look, after all of this is said and done, and if Trump wins this, he thinks it's going to be this answer.
That a huge majority of Americans think that we're on the wrong track, and that Hillary Clinton's answer to it doesn't even address it honestly.
Fourteen point swing.
And I just mentioned this because if you if you know how to digest these drive-bys, they will tell you what bothers them.
I mean, while they're out bragging and acting all arrogant and condescending about how it's over and Trump's a fool and they've succeeded in defeating him, and it's just a matter of time.
If you know where to look and you know how to read these guys and interpret what they're saying, you can find out what their fears really are.
That's and I know that they're scared to death over it as Hillary emailed that.
They're even coming out and admitting that, but this one.
You know what this is akin to?
This is akin to the question that is always asked in exit polls, cares about people like me.
In the 2012 exit polls, that's the question that Obama beat Romney on 81 to 19.
And when you saw that poll, when you saw that result in the exit poll, uh, speak for myself, that's when I knew the election was lost.
If if if that, and there was there was one other that cemented it, and that is that 56% of people in 2012 still blamed George W. Bush for the economy.
So after four years of Obama and his wrecking ball in the economy, the American voter by 56%, maybe close to 60, still blame Bush.
So I saw those two things, and you know, I watched the returns, but I knew it was over.
The only thing I held out hope on the exit polls were not right.
But if they were right, if they accurately represented the way people voted, then uh then Romney was toasted, he turned out to be.
And this is the same kind of question.
So that's what I was saying yesterday, folks.
70% in another poll of people think this country's headed in the wrong direction.
70% are not happy with the direction you're going.
And Hillary Clinton has been there every step of the way.
Whatever has gone wrong in this country, Hillary Clinton's been there.
Donald Trump hasn't been.
No matter what else you want to say.
I gotta take a break.
Open line Friday resumes right after this.
A couple of more things on this Bloomberg poll that the Washington Post is worried about, in which 56% agree with the perception that the country is in a dark and dangerous place with threats from overseas within our borders.
That's the Trump take.
Although, you know, it's not, it really is Trump's, he Trump is positive.
This is what everybody's missing.
Trump's outlook on this stuff is fixing it.
Hillary's outlook is phony, but Trump's outlook, you know, they're saying Trump's America's deep and dark and dangerous.
No, no, no.
Trump is just acknowledging what everybody thinks and is proposing ways out of it.
Trump is ultimately uplifting and positive.
According to his supporters, there is no way you're gonna get Trump supporters to agree with the proposition if he's down and at dumps and dark and negative and pessimistic and all is lost.
It's the exact opposite, in fact.
The pessimism is associated with Hillary Clinton.
She wants more of the same and more of the same would be dark and dank and America in decline.
This is not hard.
This is drive by's don't want to see it that way, but other data in this poll.
In this poll, 68 people, 68% think the country's headed in the wrong direction.
So it's consistent with other polls.
Only 25% say the country's headed on the right track.
And back in September, you know what the number was?
50% thought the country was in the wrong track.
Now it's up to 68%.
It's uh, you know, an 18% uh increase.
And guess what the top priorities in this Bloomberg poll are?
Number one, unemployment and jobs.
Number two, terrorism, and number three, decline in income.
And all of those can be attached to failed Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton policies.
If somebody would just do it.
It's Open Line Friday, Rushlin bought 800-282-2882.
Remember, you disagree.
You have a question.
You have a comment.
You think you don't know what you should know, and you want to learn.
You want to tell me something you think I should know that you don't think I know.
Have at it.
That's what open line Friday is.
Okay, here you go from the Daily Caller and exclusive.
Multiple FBI investigations are underway, involving potential corruption charges against the Clinton Foundation.
This, according to a former senior law enforcement official, the investigation centers on New York City, where the Clinton Foundation has its main orifices, according to the former official who has direct knowledge of the activities.
Man, this has been a seesaw.
A couple of days ago, we believed a month ago, we believed that there was an official FBI investigation of the Clinton Foundation.
And even when the FBI director Comey ultimately read the riot act, listed all the crimes and all the lies Hillary Clinton had committed with that private email server.
When he said, But sorry, nothing a reasonable prosecutor here would pursue.
We all understood, I mean, there's no reason to list every violation of law and every lie that she'd told.
You realize that never happens.
The FBI collects its data, sends it on to the DOJ.
The DOJ decides, yeah, we've got a case here, and then proceeds.
We never hear the FBI recommendation.
We never see it.
Thank you.
Well, Comey knew this was never going to go anywhere.
I think Comey knew even if he recommended prosecution, there wasn't going to be a prosecution.
I mean, after all, it's the Obama regime.
It's Loretta Lynch and it's Obama, and they're not going to take out the Democrat Party's nominee.
They're just not going to do it.
And I think Comey decided I'm not going to do it.
I'm not going to do it.
I'm not going to be known in history as the guy that tried to take out the duly nominated nominee Democrat, not going to do it.
So that's why he scheduled the press conference, and that's why he listed the lies and listed the potential and likely crimes so that would get it on the record.
And there was a bit of a letdown and some surprise when we learned that he was not going to recommend prosecution, and when he then further said, don't expect one because no reasonable prosecutor would bring this case.
Everybody said, Well, that's okay, because they're still looking at the Clinton Foundation.
Yeah, still looking at that.
And then we found out yesterday, no, they're not, that the FBI wanted to, but the public integrity division of the Department of Justice told the FBI to go pound sand.
So all this time, we thought there was an FBI investigation of the Foundation.
There hasn't been.
And we know the FBI can investigate if they want, but if if if they know the FBI, the DOJ is not going to do anything with it, they're not going to waste their time.
So at the close of business yesterday, we assumed that all lines of inquiry into the scandal plagued Bill Chelsea and Hillary Clinton Foundation.
Or over.
Until we found out this.
Multiple FBI investigations Are underway involving potential corruption charges against the Clinton Foundation.
Now, what this is, this supposedly this investigation is taking place under the auspices of the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, which is Manhattan, whose name is Parit Barara.
And Perit Barara has a reputation of going after, regardless of party.
Some people think that he's a little lenient on Democrats because he's a Chuck Schumer buddy.
But he has a track record of going after powerful people in office and nailing them.
So some people think there could be something to this.
Remember, this is an exclusive from the Daily Caller.
The FBI has been given a green light by the Southern District of New York office, United States Attorney.
Prosecutorial support will come from various U.S. attorneys' offices, a major departure from other centralized FBI investigations.
The New York probe is being led by Preet Bahara, or Barara, the U.S. attorney, Southern District of New York, his prosecutorial aggressiveness has resulted in a large number of convictions of banks, hedge funds, and Wall Street insiders.
Barrara spokesman said he would decline comment.
FBI spokeswoman said we do not have a comment on investigative activity.
So Daily Caller says one's going on.
Some people are skeptical that this is actually taking place.
And if it is taking place, why is it such a mystery?
But then again, many of these investigations that take place in matters like this.
We never know about it.
That's the whole point.
We never know about it.
And so when a an investigation is shown to prove nothing or give no indication of success, it's dropped, and we never know about it.
So only time will tell whether there is an actual investigation or whether somebody has fooled a Daily Caller into believing that there is.
But they've made no bones about it.
And we will be back, folks, right after this.
Open line Friday, Rush Limbaugh behind the golden EIB microphone.
Open line Friday, where you can ask any question you want without having to give any money to my foundation.
You know, I meant to mention this yesterday.
Dallas Cowboys created a helmet decal that they wanted to wear on the back of the helmet in this upcoming season honoring the slain police officers in the Dallas massacre.
The NFL said no.
It violates our rules.
NFL said no.
Now the NFL devotes the entire month of October to making their players look silly, wearing pink gloves and pink socks and pink this and pink that.
And pretty soon the ball's gonna be pink.
I'm guessing.
Well that wouldn't surprise me either, in honor of breast cancer awareness.
Fine, we can do what they want.
But to say this is a violation of the rules, why do you think they really said no to this?
Well, I'll tell no, it's not that.
I don't think that well, you they may be afraid of other people having a cause like every local community, like every team.
Well, like, say the Indianapolis Colts, some cause going on there like religious freedom, and they wanted to put a Bible with a bullet through it or something on that.
I don't know.
And they have to turn something like that.
You never know.
But I don't think that's what it is.
If you remember the Los Angeles Rams stepped in it again.
The St. Louis Rams, they were always growing up, they were always a Los Angeles Rams.
They were never anything but the Los Angeles Rams, even when they were in St. Louis.
By the way, did you see the first episode of Hard Knox?
Tuesday night on HBO.
I got to dial it back.
I gotta dial it back.
I thought it was.
See this, I in a position I'm in when I offer an opinion of other things in the media.
I just can't.
I just can't.
Not from my perch looking down on everybody.
No, it was not.
I I I didn't think it was no.
I thought so many great premises they set up and it never went anywhere in my mind.
But that's as much of a movie.
Anyway, last year before game, St. Louis Rams, a bunch of defensive backs, defensive players during player introductions, came out hands up, don't shoot.
Remember that?
Hands up to be why?
There was no hands up, don't shoot in Ferguson.
There's the hometown team, the St. Louis Rams.
Those guys were not disciplined.
Those players were not because it was freedom of speech.
Now I'll tell you why the Cowboys are not being allowed to wear that decal.
This is so easy.
I shouldn't have to be the one to say this.
You can't figure this out.
Are you kidding me?
The Dallas Cowboys want to put a decal.
It's not provocative, it's a circle.
And it's got some designation of honor.
Five cops.
It honors five cops who died.
It doesn't honor anybody else.
It does it honors the five cops who died.
Well, you don't think some left-wing activist groups could have a big problem with that and think, you know what?
We're going to have to stir up some trouble here.
They're honoring the cops.
What about us?
That's what the NFL's afraid of.
They're afraid of Black Lives Matter.
What do you mean honoring the cops?
The cops are the problem.
Remember, that's the dogma of the left wing today.
The cops are the problem.
Look at the DOJ.
They just had to take over the Baltimore police department because the cop department there is what?
Racist and incompetent?
Even though the cops were totally exonerated in the Freddie Gray case.
Here comes Loretta Lynch and Barack Obama riding in on whatever they write in on, taking over the Baltimore police department, like they took over Ferguson and 25 or six other city police departments on the basis that they're what?
Corrupt, that they're racist, that they're unfair.
Here comes the Dallas Cowboys wanting to honor cops.
Uh-uh.
Did no.
I think the NFL looks at that as like lighting a match.
That's what I think.
So they're not going to provoke anybody.
They're looking at this, say, well, okay, we understand the team wanted to honor five cops, but who is that going to provoke?
And it will provoke some people.
You know it as sure as you're sitting here.
Pink footballs and pink socks and pink gloves and stuff.
They didn't provoke anybody.
It just raises eyebrows.
But that could that that could NFL doesn't want to go there.
Guaranteed.
Do you understand now?
Yes, of course we've come to this point.
How can you, how can you possibly claim that you don't understand what I'm talking about?
I'm not going to go any further than that.
Okay, okay, you got.
You got it.
You got it.
Well, not just players.
What a b don't look.
Use your imagination, folks.
You can you can come up with the exact things I'm thinking about here.
Yeah, I want to go to the audio sound bites.
I mentioned earlier, and we've got more data on this coming up about the drive-by's, they're really, really worried.
They got two narratives out there.
Actually, one, the predominant narrative is the election's over.
Trump's a doofus, Trump's an idiot, Trump's blown it.
Trump, even if he wanted to win, didn't know how to win.
Trump's horrible don't have a campaign.
It's over.
Hillary is the de facto default winner.
Particularly on CNN.
However, they're scared to death over this email problem of hers.
They're scared to death over something that's so complicated to try to explain.
I I I really am surprised by this.
And whenever I'm really surprised by something, then there's something I don't know.
Yet.
Why are they so afraid of this?
This is so complicated, it's really difficult to explain to somebody who doesn't understand it, which is the definition of a low information voter.
So if a low information voter can't even comprehend what went on here with her server and the emails and then what's to worry about?
But they're they're scared to death.
Listen to this media montage from yesterday and last night.
The October surprise is sitting right in front of us.
What would be the kind of thing that would be a game ender for Hillary Clinton?
You nervous there might be an October surprise somewhere in these emails.
How realistic is the possibility of an October surprise or some sort of damning revelation?
The people who have this, the Russians, the Chinese, God knows, can kind of deal it out in a way that could be quite damaging.
Will there be an October surprise of a big document dump of emails indicating that this kind of access was provided really could end her candidacy.
And if they don't think that that could happen, Democrats have their hat in the sand.
See what I'm talking about here?
That's A. B. Stoddard on Fox News.
Meaning if if if there are emails indicating the kind of access, and we know that Hillary and Cheryl Mills and Huma Danger Abdon, whatever, Wiener, they were trading access between the Clinton Foundation State Department and trading access between Hillary and Clinton and her future presidency via the foundation.
Obviously, they're afraid that the emails that have been hacked by somebody that the Russians are looking for documents this.
And they think if those emails are produced, she's toast.
You heard it.
They are scared to death that this is going to happen, folks.
