President Obama's announcement of his immigration executive order tonight is apparently for Latino ears only.
Though the White House claims they sent out feelers to the major English-speaking networks, they didn't bother sending an official request for coverage.
Instead, only Latino networks, Univision and Telemundo, are airing the president's 10-minute announcement.
And of course, it's going to be streaming from Facebook or wherever you can find it streaming.
As the Washington Post notes, the President's 8 p.m. announcement comes at a particularly opportune time for reaching a captive audience of Hispanic TV viewers, the 15th annual Latin Grammys, which airs on Univision starting at 7 p.m.
Last year, 9.8 million viewers tuned into the awards ceremony.
Univision is doing its part to make sure the president's message reaches its millions of viewers by temporarily postponing the Latin Grammys, allowing a 10-minute interruption for Obama's executive amnesty address.
Reports have it that illegal immigrants across the country are throwing watch parties in anticipation of the president's announcement of amnesty for around 5 million immigrants here illegally.
One Chicago Latino leader, Pastor Emma Lozano of the Al Doberto United Methodist Church, told the Washington Times she'll be watching the address alongside people currently facing deportation.
Um, it is, it is clear how this is.
The president is making this announcement.
You know, he had dinner last night.
The president hosted dinner last night for Democrat leaders to brief them and tell them what's going on.
You know what he said?
He said, I know you guys are mad at me over the election, but look at what I've done for you.
I have just restocked exactly what you need, a permanent underclass.
Tomorrow night, 8 o'clock, I'm going to restock the Democrat Party with a bunch of permanent underclass voters.
Do you love me?
You love me?
Can I get a little love now?
Huh?
Right?
Well, you didn't want me around the election day, right?
Well, I'm going to be gone someday.
But I'm going to give you 5 million voters tomorrow night.
That's probably what the meeting was about last night.
Probably what the dinner was about.
Jeff Sessions, Senator from Alabama, said that Obama is now the emperor in the White House.
President Obama previously said he could not issue an executive amnesty because, quote, I'm the president.
I'm not the emperor of the U.S.
And by the way, Boehner has sent out a piece chronicling all of the times.
Obama has said on the record he doesn't have the power to do this.
Okay, I'm glad he did that, but then what?
He's still going to do it is my point.
You can send out all of these examples of Obama being a hypocrite and a liar, but it isn't going to change.
Tomorrow morning, the Constitution is still going to have been violated.
Well, now, I know that nobody's probably going to be able to come all the way to stop him tonight, but I don't see a whole lot of evidence that there's a big desire to stop him anyway.
At least up till now, you and I well know the Republican Party has been sort of afraid to go there.
And get this, right on time, right on time.
The Washington Post has a poll today.
And you know what it says?
63% of the American people now want the two parties to work together to make Washington work.
That's the Washington Post post-election poll.
They claim that that's what 63% of Americans said this election means.
The two parties must now work together.
And I guarantee you, that's the worst poll we could get as far as the Republican leadership is going to be concerned because they're going to look at that poll and they're going to say, see, they want us to cooperate.
See, they don't want us to just stop Obama like Limbaugh.
They want us to work with Obama.
They want us to work with the Democrats.
Now, the poll in the Washington Post also says that the voters, these 63%, get this now.
63% say they want two parties to work together, but those people also say they want the Republican Party setting the agenda.
Yeah, I guess, if you want to say that.
So I guess the conclusion is that they want the Democrats to compromise with the Republicans.
I mean, if 63% want the parties working together and want the Republicans to set the agenda, that means the Democrats must be the ones to do the compromising, right?
No, no, they want the two parties to work together to make Washington work.
They want the two parties to come together and work together to fix things, to get things done.
Whatever these clichés and the following.
It's a bogus poll.
Come on.
It's designed to specifically blunt the notion that the election means stop Obama.
The Washington Post has a poll saying, no, no, that's not what the people want.
People want parties to work together like we've always did.
And then they want the Republicans to set the agenda.
Well, if they want the Republicans to set the agenda, that means the Democrats have to be the ones doing the compromising.
Anyway, the White House, when they heard Jeff Sessions calling him an emperor, the White House started laughing.
Josh Ernest and De Boy, that's great.
Well, we wear that with a badge of honor.
If they want to call us emperors, well, we'll be glad to wear that emperor thing as a badge.
I mean, it just smacked that right back in your face.
As far as they are concerned.
Now, you might have seen, you might see if you haven't looked yet, there are a number of stories out there today.
Breitbart has one.
GOP Strategy to Stop Obama's executive amnesty is emerging.
According to Republican AIDS, the Republicans are formulating a plan that'll break up the omnibus budget into smaller parts.
That way, Congress could defund the parts of Homeland Security budget that are necessary to carry out Obama's executive amnesty.
So when Obama vetoes the package, it would just shut down the Department of Homeland Security and not the whole government.
Is one of the plans the Republicans, it says here, are working on.
This budget would specifically exclude the Secret Service, the Transportation Safety, Security, whatever, the TSA.
I never have to deal with them.
So what is it?
The Transportation Security Association or Safety.
What is it?
Agency?
Is it safe?
Safety.
Okay.
TSA and the Border Patrol.
The budget would specifically exclude Secret Service, TSA, and Border Patrol from having their money blocked.
So Obama couldn't run around and saying the government's been shut down.
Now, there's still a problem with this that the article doesn't mention.
That is, Obama could just shift the money he needs for the rest of his plan from another part of the budget.
Well, of course it's illegal, but so's what he's going to do tonight.
What do you mean it's illegal?
He can't do it.
do you mean he can't do it?
Folks, we realize the notion he can't do it is meaningless.
He can't do it, but he did.
He can't do it, but he's going to.
He can't do it, but he will.
It's going to happen.
Well, they took impeachment off the table.
So impeachment would stop it.
I don't know if they've even got enough time to do impeachment.
They're not going to do it.
The presidential campaign season is on the upswing.
Now, let me go back to Daniel Henneger's piece for a second because it's not totally irrelevant.
I don't want anybody misunderstanding me.
It's not a fine point that I'm making either.
I think it's crucially important, by the way.
You just can't look at this anymore the way you looked at politics 20 or 30 years ago.
Back then, a party that lost elections was humbled by it and at least made a pretense of altering policy or at least publicly stated policy in order to stay on the good side of voters.
That's what's no longer happening.
Obama, here we are two weeks after a shellacking landslide Democrat loss.
And what's the media filled with?
Obama's already recovered, and he may be more powerful now.
He may be in a better mood.
He may be sitting prettier than he has in the last four years.
You can see these stories all over the place.
After a shellacking landslide defeat, because the will of the people, as expressed in the election, is irrelevant to them.
It has been for I don't know how long, at least all the way back to Clinton.
It's just intensified here with Obama.
But anyway, getting back to the Hineger point, his column in the Wall Street Journal today is, man, the Democrat Party's falling apart.
Their foundation is crumbling.
They're so out of touch.
They're so opposed.
They're becoming a bigger and bigger minority.
American people learning more and more about him every day want no part of them, blah, right?
But they keep corrupting things.
Their agenda keeps marching.
Well, there's a little reported thing that I want to call your attention to that's in line with the Henneger theory.
And that is an election in Oregon.
Now, Oregon is deep blue.
Would you not agree?
Oregon is as deep and far left as anywhere in America.
Maybe a close second to San Francisco, Seattle, but it's right in there with them.
And you know what happened on Election Day back in November, whatever, 4th, 7th, whatever it was.
The people of Oregon rejected driver's licenses for illegal aliens.
Now, that does have meaning.
That does provide a springboard.
That does offer a foundation.
If the people of the state of Oregon do not think illegals should be granted driver's license and thus photo IDs and thus an open ticket to voter registration, and that means they also don't think what Obama's going to do tonight is we're granting them work permits either.
If in a deep blue state like Oregon, that is the case, then we have, if the Republican governors are paying attention, we have a gold mine of an issue here based on what Obama is going to do to advance our agenda and to stop theirs at the state level, since it's apparent that stopping Obama in Washington isn't on the agenda.
But it can be done at the states.
And the Republicans cleaned up in the states in the election.
It's either 23 or 26 states in this country that Republicans hold the governorship and the legislature.
Only five states in this country do the Democrats hold the governorship and the legislature.
And if Oregon, Oregon's an indication, and there are other examples like Oregon on the issue of illegal immigration, there is no popular groundswell for what Obama is going to do tonight.
Anyway, let me take a break and then we'll come back and we'll get started on your phone calls.
So sit tight.
Much more excitement straight ahead.
Looky here.
Looky here, ladies and gentlemen.
Jeffrey Toobin on CNN has just finished explaining that it is prosecutorial discretion that Obama will use to justify what he's doing tonight.
Ashley Benfield said, if the president's actions effectively nullify federal law, then they're unconstitutional.
But if they merely channel enforcement resources to other areas, then it's within his discretion to do so, right?
Is the layperson's version of that?
If you're going 70 in a 55 zone, the policeman might pull you over.
But if you're going 60, you might use that discretion and say, I'm going to let you go.
I'm going to go after the real speeders.
Think about it in a different context.
Colorado and Washington state have legalized marijuana.
Yes.
Marijuana is still illegal under federal law.
Yes.
But what the Obama administration has done has said effectively, we are going to put Washington and Colorado on probation.
So we are not going to prosecute marijuana cases, except in certain limited circumstances, in those states to see how it goes.
Now, that's not overturning the federal prohibitions on marijuana law.
It's an exercise of prosecutorial discretion saying we're not going to bring those cases for the time being.
That's a similar thing to what's happening with immigration now.
That is a total distortion of what is happening tonight.
And this is what infuriates me.
I maintain this guy knows better.
He is just being a good political foot soldier.
But when the Constitution is involved, this being a good foot soldier ought not count for it.
The Constitution ought to be inviolate.
It ought to be inviolate.
There ought to be respect and reverence enough for the Constitution everywhere that wherever it's violated, no matter what your politics, you call a violator on it.
But no, these people are distorting themselves into all kinds of pretzel-like shapes in order to say that what he's doing is legal.
Let me run through this again.
President Obama is claiming that he has prosecutorial authority, which he does.
The executive branch does.
What he's saying is, you know what?
I'm not going to prosecute illegal immigrants anymore.
I'm going to pick 5 million of them.
I'm not going to prosecute them anymore.
And I'm going to tell a border patrol and I'm going to stand down.
And then I'm going to give them work permits.
I'm not violating any law.
I'm not creating new law.
I'm just claiming that I'm not going to prosecute them.
He does not have the constitutional authority to do this.
He's claiming he's got the power to declare criminal acts lawful just because you don't, in Ashley Banfield's example, okay, it's a you find somebody going 70 in a 55 mile an hour zone.
If you don't give them a ticket, it doesn't mean 70 miles in a 55 zone is legal.
But Obama is claiming that by not choosing to prosecute these 5 million, he's turning them into legal residents.
And he can't do that.
Only Congress can do that by another act of law.
There is a statute.
Obama cannot change the statute.
Just because, this is a key point, just because he chooses not to prosecute these 5 million does not make them legal.
And it does not make what they've done legal.
And it does not open the floodgates for other illegals to be proclaimed legal.
He simply doesn't have the authority.
And I maintain to you that Toobin has to know this.
To declare that criminal acts are somehow lawful, that illegal aliens after tonight at 8 o'clock will not have a right to be here just because Obama's chosen not to prosecute them.
Not true, folks.
He does not have that authority.
He does not have that power, and no president before him has ever done this.
Reagan didn't do this.
Bush didn't do this.
Furthermore, what Obama is going to do tonight, those who engage in this unprosecuted activity, the illegal immigrants whose violations we're not going to prosecute, they're going to be rewarded.
They're going to be given benefits.
They're going to be relieved from deportation.
They're going to be given work benefits.
As if their illegal acts are some sort of valuable community service here.
This is wrong, multiplied two or three times.
This is an utter corruption, perversion of prosecutorial discretion.
It's blatant.
He doesn't have the constitutional or legal authority to do this.
And these legal leftist analysts on cable TV stretching and bending themselves into these weird shapes in order to justify this should be ashamed.
I maintain that they know exactly what's going on here, and they're politicizing it.
Let me, if Jeffrey Toobin were being honest, let me tell you what his analogy would be.
You just heard Jeffrey Toobin on CNN say, Oh, this is no different than you know, a temporary suspension of the marijuana laws in Carolina, Colorado, and Washington.
And we're going to see how it goes, and we'll make a decision later on.
We'll see how it goes.
No, no, no.
What Obama is doing in this example Toobin gives is not prosecutorial discretion.
Not deciding not to stop busting people for announcing marijuana.
No, no.
The correct analogy would be Obama would give them a permit to buy some.
That's the correct analogy.
And Toobin has got this all.
Here's the bottom line of this is, folks: why in the world did Obama run around for the past, whatever it was, year and a half or two years, claiming he didn't have the authority to do this?
Why did he run around saying he wasn't an emperor?
He's the one that did it.
Nobody put words in his mouth.
He knows that what he's doing is illegal tonight.
He knows he doesn't have the authority to do it.
And so does Toobin.
And to cite the marijuana laws, if Obama was going to do in Colorado and Washington what he is doing with illegal immigrants, it wouldn't be ignore people that smoke dope.
It would be give them some.
That's the correct analogy.
Obama is going to be bestowing benefits tonight.
He is going to claim that he's taking illegal aliens and converting them to legal simply by choosing not to prosecute them.
And that's not how it works, and he doesn't have the authority to do that.
Only Congress can change legal status like that with another enactment of law or an amendment to law or whatever.
He cannot just unilaterally do this, and he knows it.
And so does everybody.
Every one of his supporters, from Josh Ernest to Toobin, whoever it is out there that comporting themselves into these weird pretzel-like shapes in order to justify this, they know as well.
Prosecutors cannot write the laws.
Okay, you've got a prosecutor.
Let's say, I don't know.
Pick a law in your local county that somebody gets prosecuted for.
And all of a sudden, prosecutor says, you know what?
I don't have time.
I don't have the trouble.
And I can't do it.
We're not going to prosecute this case.
That does not mean the law has been rewritten so that what action is being ignored has all of a sudden become legal.
Prosecutors cannot write the law.
And just because they choose which ones to prosecute or not prosecute doesn't mean they're rewriting the law, and it doesn't mean that they have the ability to proclaim that something is illegal is now legal.
He simply doesn't have this authority.
There's no way you can stretch this, you can bend it, you can shape it, you can massage it, you can do whatever you want.
You can have all of your political buddies line up and give it their best intellectual shot.
And at the end of all that, it's still illegal, unconstitutional, and not permitted.
There is no halfway.
There's no, well, it might be, there is none of that, folks.
This is cut and dried.
He's violating the oath that he took.
He swore to defend and protect the constitutional laws.
That's out the window.
And he knows it.
Why run around for two years and claim to every Hispanic audience that was giving him the business about it?
Well, you know what?
We have our laws, and I'm not an emperor.
I can't write my own law.
Well, he's going to write his own law tonight.
He's just going to go to anybody who doesn't like it.
But this, this marijuana example, I'm telling you, the analogy, if it were to be complete, Obama, if he were going to do with marijuana and busts and the law, what he's doing with illegals, it would not be he's just going to ignore people that smoke dope.
He would give them some tonight in violation of the law.
Anyway, let me get started on the phones because if I don't, I'm just going to keep going here because the brain firing on all synapses.
So we'll start in Prescott, Arizona.
This is Charlene.
Charlene, great to have you on the program.
Hello.
Hi, Russ.
Glad to be here.
Thank you very much.
Okay, I am plugged in and I got you.
I know exactly what you're saying.
If you don't respect the Constitution you swore to uphold, and if you don't care a fig about the welfare of the people you are supposed to represent, and if you don't care how the people vote and what they want, and if you already have our future planned out as a third world nation, then you are Obama.
Hello?
I'm a what?
Obama.
Barack Hussein.
Oh, Obama.
I thought you said Obama, and I'm Obama.
No, no, I didn't say that.
This is what Obama is doing to us.
I share your indignation.
I share your anger.
He's running a three-ring circus, and he's going to do exactly what he wants unless we somehow find a way to stop him.
Yeah, okay, I know exactly what you mean.
When you said third world, and then I thought you pronounced it, I thought you were giving it like a Congolese pronunciation.
That's why I got confused here.
Like doing a version of Edi Amin Dada.
Edi Amin Obama.
Well, I don't know.
My mind got sidetracked there.
But I'm glad that you get it because I'm still, folks, all of this is surreal to me.
We're counting down the hours and minutes to where in front of our very eyes, the Constitution is going to be blown full of holes.
And on TV, there's excitement about it.
And it's like a carnival atmosphere.
And we're going to do it with a ceremony.
We're not just going to blow holes in the Constitution.
We're going to have a ceremony about it.
We're going to have watch parties.
We're going to do a celebration.
You know, on the official White House webpage, let me find this.
On the official White House webpage, people are posting Facebook posts or tweets or whatever.
Don't tell me I didn't save this somewhere.
Sometimes I think the printer doesn't print things that I order it to print, but it's there are things being posted on the White House page announcing this thing tonight.
There are tweets or Facebook posts or whatever.
Take this, Whitey.
And there are pictures of people flipping us off with the middle finger on the White House page, on the White House webpage.
It's about time you got yours, Whitey.
I mean, there's ceremony about this.
There's a celebration taking place with this.
Now, I understand their people don't like this country, and I understand their people don't like the Constitution, and I understand them celebrating.
I mean, intellectually, I understand it, but I don't get why there doesn't seem to be anything other than intellectual reasoned opposition to this, rather than real roll up the sleeves, stop this kind of opposition.
We got all the intellect on our side we need.
We have all the egg heads we need.
We got all the brains.
We got all the people who can tell us that what's happening here is illegal.
Where are the people on our side that stands?
Where's the John Wayne?
Where's somebody that stands up and says no more not happening here?
Where are the people still?
We're going to do something about this.
I can name a couple.
But then they get shot down by Ted Cruz, you name it, they get shot down, blamed for shutting down the government or what have you.
Anyway, Charlene, thanks for the call.
I appreciate it.
I could swear I printed that thing out.
Let me go find it here.
I've just told you what it was, but I want to have it in front of me.
Sit tight, my friends.
More phone calls are coming up right after this.
Don't go away.
The top story at the Drudge Report right now, and it's from the Daily Caller.
He's linking the Daily Caller.
Obama's amnesty will add as many foreign workers as new jobs have been created since 2009.
Let me repeat that.
Obama's executive amnesty tonight, talking about 4.5, 5 million people, will add as many, because they're all going to get work permits.
And he doesn't have the authority to do this.
There's nothing about this that is constitutional.
Nothing.
He's going to ignore the law for 5 million people.
And by ignoring the law, he's going to claim that they're now legal.
And they're not.
They're still illegal.
Just because he's choosing not to go after them doesn't make them legal.
But he's going to claim they're legal.
And then he's going to give them work permits.
And in the process, tonight, Barack Obama will add as many foreign workers as new jobs have been created in this country since 2009.
Here you go from the article.
President Obama's unilateral amnesty will quickly add as many foreign workers to the nation's legal labor force as the total number of new jobs created by his economy since 2009.
The 5 million work permits will add to Obama's prior giveaways, which have provided work permits to almost a million foreigners since 2009.
The U.S. economy has added only 6 million jobs since that time, according to the International Monetary Fund.
So with his signature alone, he is going to add more foreign workers to the work rolls than jobs his policies have created.
Now, the story I was referencing before the break, it's not the White House webpage.
It's the White House Facebook page.
I found the story buried in my stack.
It's from Top Right News.
Illegal aliens and their supporters are declaring victory on the White House's Facebook page over Obama's impending amnesty executive order.
But more than simply whooping it up over our dear leader's latest seizure of power, they are specifically calling out white people.
Now, remember, this is the official White House Facebook page.
And right under Obama's announcement of the order, he's had a big announcement on Facebook.
There are a lot of people who think that he gave this to Facebook.
Ernest was asked about this, the press secretary.
Was Obama's Facebook announcement a thank you to Zuckerberg for leading the effort?
Oh, no, of course not.
Anything like that.
But anyway, right under the announcement on Facebook, I don't know if these are still there.
They might have been removed by now.
But here's a Facebook post from somebody named Myrna Solarzano.
F, all you white people.
Another one, L-O-L, all the white people complaining.
Javier Laredo, all that white people are very racist.
If they want the president to send back to Mexico what has belonged to Mexico, I agree with them.
Return to Texas, Los Angeles, Arizona, along with us.
All of you are raced by KKK.
Typical Obama voter there.
It doesn't make sense.
Mohamed Ceise.
So all you white people who hate immigrants can move the F back to small Europe now.
This is on the White House Facebook page.
That was Mohamed Cissé.
Stephen Lazos, stupid white people always talking excrement.
These are screen grabs.
And the same thing's happening over on Twitter, the White House Twitter account.
This is what's up.
By the way, do you remember there was a story?
I don't know how long ago.
I really need to expand on this too, because this is a fundamental point.
So Washington Times, Obamacare, Facebook page comments, mostly from small group of supporters.
Do you know that 70% of White House Facebook accounts are fake?
Remember that 70, maybe more of these massive Facebook likes, Facebook friends, whatever you call them?
Fake.
Made up.
Now, I, we at the Rush Limbaugh program, have personal experience with this.
But let me get back to the phones quickly.
This is Ron in Mercer, Pennsylvania.
Great to have you on the program.
Hello.
Thanks, Rush.
Just because the president's decided to break the law doesn't mean we have to.
I mean, are there any Republican governors out there with the Cojonis to say, we're not going to join you in breaking the law, just plain refuse to break the law with them?
I mean, they want to send some federales down here to lock up governors and mayors and school boards or whoever would be involved in implementing this.
Then he really would be faced with some prosecutorial discretion.
You know, who am I going to put in jail?
Well, except the governors don't control the border patrol and the governors don't control ICE.
Well, yeah, I guess they'd have to break the law then, too, wouldn't they?
Who?
The governors.
No, how the governor's breaking the law?
You're losing me here.
Well, no, no, no, no.
Look, if you have enough people who are not going to help the president to break the law, somebody has to implement what he's talking about.
I mean, children have to go to school, parents need work, they're given these supposed work permits that are legal, that are illegal.
Why do we have to follow something that is not legal?
He's basically telling us, go break the law.
Can't we just refuse to?
Okay, so Obama, I need to walk you.
Obama is going tonight, claim that 5 million illegals are now here legally because he's choosing not to call them illegal.
So now they're legal, and he's going to give them work permits.
Okay, so what does the governor do from that point?
Well, I'm not sure exactly what the governor could do except resist whatever role he has in implementing people who are working in his state who are illegal and doing it illegally.
I don't know.
Somebody has to not only issue cards, but to abide by whatever permits or cards that they're presenting to work or to go to a hospital or anything like that.
And if it's illegal, why would you be breaking the law a lot?
Well, but see, that's the problem.
In the case of the hospital, the emergency room, federal law is they've got to treat whoever walks in there.
In that example, schools, the school lunch program gives the feds control over what happens at schools.
If they refuse to honor kids from illegal families, then they get money pulled and so forth.
The feds have got, you know, their tentacles are everywhere.
Anyway, I've got to take a brief time out.
My friends, sit tight, much more straight ahead after this.
You know, there's another part of this that to me is crucial, and it is this.
Is anybody stopping and really asking themselves why Obama is doing this?
Now, you may think the answer to that question is simple, and to you, it might be.
