Time Text
So what do we have here, folks?
I'll tell you what we have.
We have drive-by politicians.
We have drive-by agitators.
We have drive-by media, all trying to cash in on narratives and templates as opposed to facts.
You see, the facts weren't in yet.
And we couldn't wait for the facts, so we had to advance our agendas based on our narratives.
And now they all look like fools.
Live from the Southern Command in sunny South Florida, it's Open Line Friday.
Now everybody involved in this thing looks like an agitator.
The politicians that got all worked up look like agitators.
The agitators don't have to look like agitators because they were agitators.
The media, the drive-by media look like agitators.
And all of that looting, cashing in on a phony narrative too.
All of it was so unnecessary.
And all of it serves to make Americans think their country is not so hot.
What an absolute travesty this week has been.
Greetings, my friends, and welcome.
It's Rush Limboy here on Open Line Friday.
The telephone number, if you want to be on the program, 800-282-2882.
Email address, lrushbow at EIBnet.com.
Totally unnecessary.
The looting, all based on a phony narrative.
The violence, all based on a phony narrative.
Drive-by politicians, drive-by agitators, drive-by media, all trying to cash in on narratives as opposed to facts.
The facts weren't in yet, you see, and we couldn't wait for the facts.
You know why we couldn't wait for the facts?
Because we didn't need them.
We knew what happened.
The media knew what happened because they know what a rotten place this country is.
That's right.
The media knew what happened.
The agitators knew what happened because they've been told for all these years what a rotten country they live in.
The politicians, they never wait for the facts.
They act on narrative to advance the agenda whenever there is crisis on the scene.
So a bunch of fools, agitators all, with looting and violence.
Totally unnecessary.
And that's what the president weighed in on last night.
All of it just because nobody can wait for the facts because everybody thought they knew them.
They didn't need to wait because everybody's prejudice had already told them what had happened there and why it had happened and who was guilty and who was innocent and all of that.
I had meant to mention this yesterday.
I had a friend send me an internet page that he thought was brilliant.
It was one of these websites that analyzes foreign affairs, foreign events.
And he said, you know, look, I don't send you stuff.
Most of my friends know not to do that because they have learned I see it on my own.
They don't need to send me stuff.
So when they do, it's rare.
And when they do, they think they've really spotted something that I'm going to appreciate.
They're trying to be helpful.
Don't misunderstand.
Well, and I'm not going to identify the website.
It's not the point.
What was sent to me was gobbledygook.
It was foreign policy analysis that didn't say anything.
I'm going to tell you what it said.
And I'll tell you what I wrote the guy back.
I said, you know what?
This is brilliant.
I agree wholeheartedly.
Obama might do that, but he might not.
And if he does, we won't know why.
And we won't know when.
So we just have to wait for him to do or not do whatever he doesn't want to do.
Things could go that way or the other way or the way over there.
Or some way we can't predict.
It's really bad out there.
Some really mean, bad people out there.
I mean, really mean.
We wish they weren't there, but they are there.
Or they're over there.
Or maybe they're behind us, waiting while we look over there, but while we wait, because that's all we can do, because we don't know anything, except we think we know Obama doesn't care.
But we know we care.
But about what?
And why?
Well, who knows?
No one knows except for the ones who do know.
But we don't know who they are.
And neither do they.
Because they can't be sure that we don't know who they are and what they're going to do or when, if ever.
We just don't know.
We wish we did.
And we happily charge people $100 a year for this.
So he wrote back, okay, okay, I get it.
I get it.
I get it.
I said, no, no.
I'm just trying to be, in my own way, illustrative.
Because we really don't know.
And yet the drive-by media tells us.
And one of the things that I have often asked people to do is to just understand that there is politics and an agenda to everything that you see on the news.
And even Snerdley, folks, it is hard not to get sucked in by it.
It's hard.
It takes a daily application.
It takes a seasoned veteran.
Snerdley walked into me today.
He said, you know, I got caught up in it, Rush.
I actually believed.
I actually believed what I was hearing on TV.
I bought the whole thing.
I just, I did because, I mean, the way they made it look, it was impossible.
Now, look, the video had been released, the evidence, so forth.
Snerdley found out everything he thought had just been blown to smithereens.
And he felt embarrassed that he had fallen for it.
And betrayed.
Exactly felt betrayed because he had, by quirk of fate, believed what he had seen and been told in the media about this.
Al Gore has sued Al Jazeera for withholding money from sale of current TV.
His attorney, David Boyce, also blasted Al Jazeera for making sure the complaint has been filed under seal.
Current TV co-founder, Al Gore, Joel Hyatt, have launched a lawsuit claiming that Al Jazeera is withholding money from its $500 million purchase of the cable news network.
Cable news network?
Do you know what that network was?
Home videos.
It was people sending in their home videos, proof that the icebergs were melting or what have you.
It was nonsensical.
The complaint was filed under seal in the Delaware Court of Chancery.
Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore being represented by David Boyes, the attorney who memorably represented him in the Florida recount battle in 2000.
Al Jazeera America wants to give itself a discount on the purchase price that was agreed to nearly two years ago, said Boyes.
And we're asking the court to order Al Jazeera America to stop wrongfully withholding the escrow funds that belong to current former shareholders and Al Gore.
What do you bet?
After they bought it, they found out they paid way too much and it just isn't worth it.
Immigrant children are going to be classified as homeless to avoid school enrollment documentation requirements.
In response to an inquiry about the unaccompanied minors from one of its school divisions, Virginia's Department of Education issued a memo this month reminding its 132 divisions about their obligation to educate all children.
More than 2,850 unaccompanied, illegal immigrant minors have been placed with sponsors in Virginia.
And according to the memo, under federal and Virginia law, the state of Virginia expects that many of these unaccompanied illegal immigrant minors who enroll in public school are going to be called homeless, not illegal immigrants.
You know why?
Well, when they're homeless, they qualify for all sorts of additional, I mean, dozens of additional welfare benefits, just to name one thing.
They also are exempted from all kinds of residential reporting requirements.
How in the world can you have a residence if you're homeless?
If you are homeless, you come from nowhere.
You can't be an illegal immigrant if you don't have a home.
The only way you can be an illegal immigrant is if you had a home and you fled that home, got on top of a freight train, traveled 45 days through Mayco and landed in Arizona or Texas.
Then you would have a home.
But if you're qualified as homeless, you're not an illegal immigrant.
You get many more welfare benefits and you are not even called an illegal immigrant.
You're just sadly homeless and a remnant of the Bush administration as an added bonus.
All of this is being done, by the way.
The article says they could even qualify for benefits under the McKinney-Vento Act.
But in fact, the only way they can get this waiver is under the McKinney-Vento Act.
So they will, by law, be eligible for all the benefits under the McKinney-Vento Act, and only if they are characterized, qualified, classified as homeless.
The McKinney Act includes 15 programs providing a spectrum of services to homeless people.
And in fact, the McKinney-Vento Act ensures homeless children transportation to and from school free of charge.
Did you know that?
Oh, yes.
The illegal alien children who are being repopulated all over the country, being qualified now as homeless, and they qualify for welfare benefits.
One of them is free transportation to and from school.
This allows the children of the school of origin to accept these students without any hassle or problem whatsoever.
It's amazing how things are working out.
And isn't it amazing how somebody can just, with a stroke of a pin, change the classification from illegal immigrant to homeless.
This is being done in order to bypass the usual required documents for attending public schools.
What's being bypassed?
Immunization records, proof of residence.
The article says they could even qualify them for benefits, what we talked about, the McKinney-Vinto Act.
So everything's just working out just so well.
They show up and they immediately go from a processing center to a family home in Virginia or New York or wherever, and then they are qualified, classified as homeless.
Free transportation to and from schools.
Does your kid get that?
And numerous welfare benefits.
And an added bonus, the percentage of people in the country who are considered to be illegal immigrants living in the shadows doesn't budge because they're not illegal immigrants anymore.
Back to the phones we go.
It's Open Line Friday.
We try to take a few more phone calls on Friday than otherwise.
Here is Matthew, nine years old from Raleigh, North Carolina.
Hi, Matthew.
Really nice that you called.
Hi.
Oh, hi, and I'm so happy to actually be on the talk show with you.
Well, I'm happy to have you on the talk show with me.
I'm happy to have you out there.
What's up?
How you doing?
Great.
It's a sunny day here.
No clouds.
Sunny day with clouds?
Well, enjoy them while you can.
No clouds, you say.
No clouds.
Even better.
Even better.
Okay.
Is it hot?
Is it really hot or not?
It's about 85 degrees out here.
About 85.
Well, that can't do better than that in August.
I mean, that's cool.
I wanted to talk about your book.
My books?
Cool.
What do you think about them?
They're really good.
I can't believe it.
You can't believe it.
They're really good.
I can't believe it.
You're cracking me up here, man.
What do you like about him, Matthew?
I like Liberty.
He's kind of really funny.
Isn't he smart, too?
Liberty is the talking, time-traveling horse in the river.
It's very funny.
It is very funny.
He's hilarious.
He's the funniest horse you've ever run into.
And Matthew, for people that may not know, let me tell you what Liberty is.
Liberty is the time-traveling, talking horse in the adventure series Rush Revere and Time Travel Adventures with Exceptional Americans.
There are two books out, Brave Pilgrims and First Patriots.
Have you read both of them?
Only the first one.
I'm saving up for the second one with the money from me selling eggs that my chickens lay.
You're selling eggs that your chicken lays.
How much do you, do you sell the eggs by the dozen?
Yes, for $4.
How much?
A dozen for $4.
$4 for a dozen eggs.
And how much money have you collected?
Oh, my uncle said, I think $19.
Okay.
$19.
Well, you should be right there, Matthew.
You should be right there.
I mean, that's right in the affordability range.
In fact, you should have a little more than is necessary.
So all you need is somebody to take you to the mall.
Oh, no, you don't go to the mall much.
We tend to just stay home.
It's kind of just stay home.
Okay, well, let me do this.
I have school now.
Well, on Wednesday, I'll be out of school.
Oh, you're in school already.
Okay.
Well, I saw on Wednesday.
We're kind of getting this ready.
Start on Wednesday.
Okay.
Well, you know, Matthew, you have cracked me up here so much by telling me that you really couldn't believe how good they were.
You couldn't believe how good they were going to be.
I want you to keep the money that you have earned selling eggs laid by your chicken.
And I want to send you a copy of the second book.
And as an added bonus, Matthew, I want to send you the audio versions on CD for both books, Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims, which you've read, and Rush Revere and the First Patriots, which is what you have been saving up money for from the sale of eggs laid by your chicken.
Oh, my gosh.
Oh, it's true.
I'm actually going – well, you're more than welcome.
It's – I'm – I'm happy to do it.
I mean, I think it is.
You've earned it.
You've earned it.
I mean, this is very enterprising of you to actually sell eggs by the dozen in order to raise enough money to buy the next book with Liberty, the Talking Time Traveling Horse.
These books, by the way, go deep down into American history and they take the reader.
You like the books because you actually learn about stuff in American history, right?
Yeah, I really like history in such class.
I like history the most in such class.
That's why God I got for Christmas and I read it like 20 times.
Wow, 20 times.
Well, you are going to have a lot of days in your future being very satisfied learning about American history.
I think that I can safely assure you that.
Now, Matthew, I want you to hang on.
Do not hang up the phone because I need to get your address so that we can send you Rush Revere and the First Patriots and the audio versions of both books.
And I want to thank you again.
You cracked me up here.
I'm happy to have your review.
The fact that they're much better than you thought they were going to be, you couldn't believe it.
It's just choice.
So don't hang up.
Back after this.
I'll tell you, there's, well, I don't know how to characterize this.
I'm watching CNN.
They're not happy in Ferguson, Missouri.
They're not happy.
I just heard a, I guess a resident say that every cop needs to wear a GoPro camera on the name tag, number one, and then have another one as a backup somewhere.
The next thing that needs to happen is that anytime there's an incident like this, the feds need to come in immediately and tell the people of community what happened.
The feds need to come in and do an investigation immediately because, as we all know, the feds never get it wrong.
The feds are totally fair and unbiased, and the feds are totally competent.
And then the next thing that needs, and then the next thing they said was, the next thing the guy said, that every police officer that's hired, they need to start background checking the guy from high school.
They need to find the racists.
and the bullies, and they need to make sure that these guys don't get hired in precincts where the people that they are racist and biased against live.
And Don Lemon said, you know, buddy, if you keep talking, Anderson Cooper is going to be out of a job and patted him on the back.
And then he went to a female resident who said, the truth of the matter is that this was an execution in this city.
And we have to stop executions in this city.
And the crowd applauded and went right on and hubba hubba.
And it kind of dovetails with what I saw when Ron Johnson, who's the Highway Patrol commander, he did part of the press conference today earlier, just afternoon, Eastern, with the governor, Jay Nixon.
And he was good.
I mean, this guy's got command.
He's got control of the circumstance situation.
But the people asking him the questions were angry.
The people asking him questions were not happy with his answers.
And another person said, that video has obviously been photoshopped by the cops.
That was also on CNN.
That video was photoshopped, and the cops just plugged him in there and not believing it.
So we have a couple of soundbites from the press conference.
The Highway Patrol Captain Ron Johnson doing the answering of the questions.
And they're not interested in his message.
Now, by the way, Captain Johnson, just to reiterate, also said, crowd didn't like this.
He said that he wishes they would have consulted him before naming the officer who killed the gentle giant.
So we have two sound bites.
Unidentified person in the crowd says to Ron Johnson, the Highway Patrol captain that's now in charge of the streets in Ferguson.
He says, I have a barbershop in the city of St. Louis.
I see a lot of these young men, all different ages.
They are wary.
This thing is going to go way over just Mike Brown.
They've been oppressed for so long.
What can we do today, Captain, that we can assure these young folks that there is somebody here who is thinking about and caring about and want to protect you from the things that are going on in this world, whether it be the police or the military or what have you.
What are we going to do, Captain, to tell these young folks there's somebody out there thinking and caring about them and protecting them?
What is your first reaction?
What is your first reaction, folks, when you hear that question in terms of an answer?
Does nothing come to mind?
No, no, no.
Now that's fascinating, Stern.
The ponytail guy came to my mind.
That's the guy in the Perot, Clinton, H.W. Bush debate in 1992.
And I think that was in Raleigh.
North Carolina ponytail guy stood up.
Which of you, what are you going to do to take care of us?
What are you going to do?
It's an adult.
What are you going to do to take care of us and bring us together and protect us?
And man, you should have seen Clinton practically bowled over a couple of chairs to get to the microphone to answer it first.
But that's not what I get from this.
I mean, I can't say what my reaction is.
I can't win in this stuff, folks.
I can't win.
Here's the answer.
This is what Captain Johnson said.
We have outstanding law enforcement officers in our state, both black and white, male and female.
Are we perfect?
No, we're not.
But I tell you what, I wake up each day and I've got a son and I've got a daughter.
And I want them to be able to walk these streets with safety.
Our intent is to make this state safe.
Our intent is to stand strong and protect all of our citizens.
But I can tell you, our intent means nothing.
If those are your feelings, that means we need to do a better job.
Pretty good.
Pretty good.
This guy is good.
I'm telling you, we're going to be hearing a lot more of Captain Johnson.
But I can tell you, our intent means nothing if these are your feelings.
I kind of like this.
As you say, what are you going to do to protect?
Remember now, this is not a guy asking to be protected, snurdly.
This is a barbershop guy, and he's asking about the young people that come into his barbershop.
And they've been oppressed for so long.
What do you mean, oppressed?
They've been voting for Democrats all their lives.
Well, I know, but I'm being facetious.
How can they be oppressed?
They've been voting Democrats.
The Democrats are supposed to get them out of oppression, right?
St. Louis is run by Democrats.
Detroit is run by Democrats.
New Orleans is run by Democrats.
New York City is run by Democrats.
In all of these cities, you're going to find people who think they're oppressed.
Chicago is run by Democrats.
Oh, Chicago.
So the barbershop, they've been oppressed for so long.
Well, you might maybe think about voting for somebody different next time.
Really, it's been 50 years and you're voting for the same people over and over.
And every year they campaign on the promise to get you out of oppression.
And they promise to get you out of poverty.
And they promise to make sure nobody is going to be mean to you anymore.
And they promise you nobody is going to discriminate against you anymore.
And they promise you you're going to be able to find a job.
And they promise you they're going to get even with all these oppressors.
And they promise you they're going to get even with these people denying you work.
And they promise you they're going to get even with you for keeping you in poor neighborhoods.
And they promise and they promise and they promise.
And you keep voting and voting and voting.
And after 50 years, you're still feeling oppressed.
That's my first parse.
What can we do today, Captain, that can assure these young folks that there is somebody here who is thinking about and caring about and want to protect you from the things that are going on in this world?
Now, I'm going to be hung in effigy for this, but I'm going to go ahead and say it.
When I grew up, that was my parents.
Okay, so you see, I'm in trouble now.
I really stepped in it, didn't I?
How dare I?
I really stepped in it.
But it's true.
You know, Where I grew up, two blocks away, lived a Missouri State Highway Patrolman.
I can't remember his name.
I was scared to death of the guy.
I never saw him in uniform.
I just knew he lived there.
I was afraid to ride my bicycle past the place.
I was just, I had that much respect for law enforcement.
I was, as a young kid, I'm talking about it.
It didn't help.
When I was, I don't know, seven or eight or nine, my mother put me on a bus to go see my grandmother in the boot heel of Missouri.
And the bus did not go to the town where she lived.
It stopped in a town nearby, Bloomfield.
And it stopped at a diner truck stop type place.
So my grandmother met me, and we went in there and had a burger, Coke, whatever I had as a little kid.
And in walked a Missouri State Highway Patrolman.
And my grandmother looked at me.
He's going to get you.
He's going to get you.
What have you done?
He's coming here for you.
She was teasing me, but she put the fear of God in me.
Oh, my God.
He's coming for me.
What did I do?
You must have done something.
That's why he came in here.
I'm seven or eight years old.
So I, every time I drove by the highway patrol guy's house two blocks away from mine, I was a little trepidatious when I did it.
But no, I mean, when I was growing up, the people that made things safe and cared and wanted to protect me from the things that was my parents.
Now, I realize that's terribly insensitive, and it's not the way things are in America today.
And I realized that I have spoken out of turn.
Today, I realize I have been very hurtful with that comment and observation.
And I know that that's not the way America is anymore.
And for me to say that is inflammatory, it's intimidating, but that's what my first reaction was.
And now, the second soundbite, and we got a quick break.
Captain Johnson continued, he answered this, he continued to answer the question, who's going to protect these kids that feel oppressed?
The thing you have to understand is that the people at this press conference, the citizens, were not satisfied with what he said.
There was anger there, folks, and I saw it still again here on CNN.
We know this ain't the perfect world.
You say you have a barbershop.
You know, every barber isn't good.
It's a bad barber.
Okay?
But that's the kind of way of the world.
But I tell you what, when you go home and you see your kids tonight, when I got home last night, my daughter sent me this.
She says, Daddy, were you scared?
And I said, just a little bit.
And she said, Daddy, I want you to remember when Jesus asked Peter to walk with him on the water.
And she said, when Peter got scared, Jesus picked him up and said, have the faith.
And I'm telling you today, we need to be just like Peter because I know we're scared.
And I know we're falling.
But he's going to pick us up and he's going to pick this community up.
And we will be back after this.
Don't go away.
Back to the phones to somewhere in Illinois.
Parts unknown.
James, welcome to the EIB Network.
Hi.
Good afternoon, Mr. Lemba.
I'm honored to speak with you.
Thank you very much, sir.
When I spoke to Mr. Sterdley a while ago, just before your first break, you were making the comment about all of the media and everything going on in Missouri and about how they only report on rumor when it serves their purpose.
But up until this morning, when they revealed the name of the police officer and a couple of other pertinent details, wasn't everything that they had been reporting on rumored except for the fact that a uniformed police officer shot and killed a person.
Pretty much.
That was, yeah, they had a narrative.
They had a template and they ran with it.
And everybody involved it.
The politicians had one.
The media had one.
Citizens had one.
And it was all absent fact.
Everybody made up their own story based on what they wanted it to be.
The media does this all the time.
Does the Duke LaCrosse case ring any bells?
No, sir.
It doesn't?
Not that I can recall, sir.
No.
Duke La Crosse?
Oh, oh, oh, yes, sir, yes, sir, yes, sir.
Right.
Remember that story?
Okay.
Everything about it was right, except for one thing.
They didn't do it.
Exactly.
But everything that everyone else in the area and the media would be most culpable of all was they're the ones that injected race into it.
They're the ones that provided that, well, it was a white officer and a black man.
Well, no, it was a police officer and a person.
They're the ones that added the narrative to it, and it's just disreputable beyond belief.
They didn't have to, though.
The community knew that.
The media, I mean, those flames are already there.
The media fanned them and threw gasoline on them, but the community knew that before the media ever showed up.
And that's part of the problem, too.
There was no waiting for fact.
And even now, when the facts have arrived, they're not right.
The facts are not being challenged.
Well, that video, that Photoshop, that's obviously Photoshopped.
Why did they wait four days?
Because they had to make that video.
They had to stage it, just like the moon landing had never happened.
They had to go in there and make that video because it wasn't real.
We're hearing all this because the cops waited for four days before they announced the video.
So the templates, the narrative, everybody has theirs.
They were off and running.
And by the way, folks, again, look at there's only one reason for a narrative.
Political points.
Political agenda.
Why does someone, why can't anyone just patiently wait for the facts?
And the answer is there's a group that isn't going to believe them because they think everything is lies in circumstances like this.
There's another group, the media, that doesn't want to wait for the facts because, by definition, what do the drive-bys do?
They fly into a situation.
They make things up.
They stir up emotions based on what they want everybody to think about it, which is rooted in advancing their political agenda.
They will spread lies.
They will spread innuendo.
They will do suggestions.
And so they will do everything they can to convince everybody that their version of what happened is what happened.
And then when the real facts emerge, they're gone.
They're down the road waiting to hit up the next event and do it all over again in their wake is a huge mess.
that people on the scene have to clean up.
That is the textbook definition of drive-by media.
And that is, for the most part, what has happened here.
Now, there is one exception.
In this case, the drive-by media hasn't yet left because the mess that they've created still holds potential to be shaped and flaked and formed in such a way as to make their original version of this event be the one everybody believes.
So drive-bys have not fled the scene yet.
The mess is all over the road, but they're trying to put Humpty Dumpty back together again in the way they want us to see it.
That's right, they're doing analysis of the video.
And I bet they're going to try to convince us what we see is not what we see.
CNN, I mean, are working hard on this, folks.
Sit tight.
