So it's another classic example of, I think, utter incompetence.
And if it's not incompetence, then it is shamefully purposeful.
And that is the denial of death benefits to these veterans killed in action.
Fox did a report last night, brought home caskets that are forklifted into a rented transport cargo plane.
They can't bring them back because of the government shutdown.
We don't have the money for it and so forth.
And the families didn't get death benefits.
And Obama says, well, I'm going to fix it now.
I'm going to go fix it.
The idea that it happened in the first place and the idea that these illegal aliens can have the National Mall open for them to attend a rally demanding amnesty while at the same time the National Mall is closed to American citizens.
Folks, I'm going to tell you, and by the way, greetings and welcome back.
Rush Limbaugh here at the EIB Network.
I don't – all of these events, they're in the news and the media is doing stories, but they're just perfunctory.
And I don't think the people reporting these stories have any idea the way they're being reacted to, particularly outside of Washington.
This business of closing the National Mall, closing the World War II Memorial, not allowing World War II vets or anybody else on the grounds of the memorial because of the government shutdown, and we don't have any money for it.
And then the pro-amnesty people get a waiver or an exemption, and they get to use the park.
Illegal aliens, not citizens, are permitted to show up and conduct a rally and protest demanding citizenship on the spot, demanding amnesty.
This is the kind of thing people out in the country hear about.
This is so uncomplicated.
This does not require ideology to understand.
This does not require one to be a Democrat or a Republican and to abandon those loyalties to understand that this is not right.
And this is the kind of thing I think that just infuriates people.
And you see, the president's approval rating today is at 37%.
Maybe you haven't seen that.
It hasn't been reported anywhere.
Well, take it back.
It is reported deep in an AP story, which has as its headline, Republicans Blamed for Shutdown.
The President of the United States with an approval rating of 37%.
George Bush's low was 36 back in 2006.
And they couldn't stop reporting that.
We've played for you earlier.
The Wolf Blitzer, breathless, three-hour effort to report that.
And it gets a scant mention in an ABC story, or in an AP story.
But out there, outside what's known as the Beltway, this is not sitting well.
And the same thing with the death benefits being denied military families.
This is not pretty.
And the president knows it.
That's why the press conference yesterday.
But Grab Audio Soundbite number one.
Folks, we put together a actually, grab our summary.
I want first to play our summary of the summary of Obama's press conference yesterday.
It took an hour.
He didn't get one question from the media about the robot of Obamacare, not one, which is an utter disaster.
I'm going to tell you something.
It is so bad.
They are so worried in the drive-by media that it isn't working.
And by the way, why is it raised?
Have you heard how much money they spent on this website?
$600 million.
I think, let me double-check the actual number here.
$634 million to develop a website.
Do you think that's what developing a website costs most people?
$634 million, and it still isn't working.
It is in such bad shape.
The drive-bys are worried about the optics.
They're worried about all the testimonials of people that can't get in.
And by the way, those who can't get in, some of them can't get out.
Some of them, the website won't release them.
Kid you not.
So the drive-bys are out suggesting, well, you know what?
The fix for this is just go single payer.
Let's just make this.
And I think that this is all by design.
And I've said so from the beginning.
The purpose here is to wipe out the private sector insurance market.
It is to make getting health insurance so difficult and so complicated, so complex, that people finally, in frustration, throw up their hands and say, single payer.
Why don't you guys just handle it all?
This is the, it's what Obama ultimately wants the U.S. healthcare system to be anyway.
And I think, because if you know you've got three years to design a website, you've got three years to get it right, and you don't, nobody's that incompetent.
I realize that they don't have the best talent at government, private sector does, but three years.
And now we've learned today that Obama was told it wasn't ready.
He didn't care.
He would launch it anyway.
Chaos is what we want.
He's not quoted as saying that.
I'm just, this is the mindset.
But this press conference yesterday, where all of you people think the Republicans are losing on this shutdown business, hell, they may be being blamed for this shutdown.
I don't know.
But at the same time, the people do not think the shutdown is the end of the world.
That's a holdover from the 90s.
That's a dream of the media that the American people think that the worst thing could ever happen to them is a government shutdown.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
Now, to people like Andrea Mitchell or anybody else, the drive-by media, the government shutdown is the end of the world.
I mean, that's the end-all to them.
Government this, government that.
It was not worth it.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
Most people, it's not that way.
So Obama goes out and does this press conference yesterday, and it's mean and it's juvenile, it's petulant, spoiled little kid-type thing.
Now, I asked Cookie last night to put together a montage because I remembered Obama back on January 12th of 2011 in Tucson.
The tribute to the Tucson shooting victims, including Democrat member of Congress Gabby Gifford.
You remember Obama went out to Tucson, made a speech.
He implored people to stop all this partisan bickering, that we had to do it for Gabby, and that we had to raise our standards.
We had to lift up our language.
We had to start getting along.
We had to start talking in ways that eliminated the sharp polarization that was in our country.
And remember what he was playing off of.
What he was playing off of were lying reports in the media that Sarah Palin's website was responsible for that shooting.
So the media had that story out, so he goes out to build off of that.
We've got to stop this kind of mean-spirited talk.
Well, that's exactly what he engaged in yesterday.
So we put together a montage, and the title is, What happened to Mr. Civility?
What happened to the guy who wants us to all get along?
At a time when our discourse has become so sharply polarized, extortion, insane, catastrophic, chaos.
We are far too eager to lay the blame for all that ails the world at the feet of those who think differently.
You have some ideological extremist extreme Republicans.
It's important for us to pause for a moment.
We're not going to pay a ransom.
You don't pay a ransom.
Demand a ransom.
And make sure that we're talking with each other in a way that heals.
You do not hold people hostage.
Not in a way that wounds ransom taking or hostage taking.
Usher in more civility in our public discourse.
Burn down the plant or your office.
Only a more civil and honest public discourse can help us face the challenges of our nation.
I'm going to burn down your house.
Not on the usual plane of politics and point scoring and pettiness.
Tea Party Republicans flirted with the idea of default, a nuclear bomb.
We should do everything we can do to make sure this country lives up to our children's expectations.
You're just a deadbeat.
So which is the real Obama, Mr. Civility of 2011, January 8th, or this embarrassing childlike temper tantrum that we got yesterday that was filled with amazing untruths,
such as defaulting on the debt if we don't raise the debt limit.
By the way, I'm not saying don't raise the debt limit.
That's not my argument, but we're not going to default if we don't.
We have plenty of revenue coming in to pay the interest on the debt if the debt limit isn't raised.
It's not the catastrophe that he's trying to play it out to be, make it out to be.
Before we go to the break, Washington Post, an unusual confrontation took place on the U.S. Capitol steps today.
District Mayor Vincent Gray actually crashed a news conference held by Democrats and asked Dingy Harry to exempt the city of Washington from the ongoing shutdown.
The mayor told Reed moments after the mayor concluded his own press event, 50 yards from where Reed held once that, sir, we are not a department of the government.
We are simply trying to be able to spend our own money.
And Reed said to Mayor Vincent Gray, I'm on your side.
Don't screw it up, okay?
Don't screw it up.
I'm on your side.
Don't screw this up.
Dingy Harry's out there with another batch of lies about the shutdown.
And here comes this clueless mayor of Washington blaming Dingy Harry for the shutdown in Washington.
Hey, we're not a branch of government.
We need the money here.
Dingy Harry says, shut the hell up, you idiot, you fool.
You're going to blow it here.
The intra-party tension comes after the Republican-controlled House voted last week to pass a bill allowing D.C. to sue its locally raised tax funds to maintain operations until December 15th.
But Democrats, including Dingy Harry and President Obama, have held fast in opposition to piecemeal funding bills.
So Washington is not getting its dough.
The Republicans have offered to fund D.C. and the NIH and any number of things.
And Dingy Harry and the boys say, we're going to fall for that trick.
We're not going to go piecemeal.
We're not going to do that.
We're not going to give Ted Cruz that kind of power.
What kind of fools do you think we are?
The mayor walks over there.
We need the money.
You guys are denying us the money.
Dingy Harry is shut up, you stupid idiot.
I'm in the middle here of blaming the Republicans and you're acting like it's my fault.
I'm on your side.
Shut up.
Don't screw it up.
At their own news conference on the Capitol grounds today, Gray, the mayor, and delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton highlighted the partisan contradictions while detailing the drastic effect of the cash crunch on the district, D.C. government, including screws, health care services for the disabled, and senior programs.
They don't have any money because the Democrats have shut it down.
And Gray walked over there and said, would you give us our money back?
And Dingy Harry, shut up, you idiot.
You are going to mess this whole thing up.
I'm on your side.
Don't you understand what we're doing here?
Little mayor said, I don't care what you're doing.
My seniors don't have any money.
I don't have any money for health care.
I don't have any money to buy people.
I don't have any graft money.
I don't have anything.
You guys should shut it down.
Dingy, shut up, you fool.
We're on the same side.
Eleanor Holmes Norton said Democrats at this critical moment have abandoned their long-held principles, calling it shameful to hold the city's local funds hostage to make a federal point.
So Eleanor Holmes Norton, a Democrat, she's a delegate to Congress from the district, accuses Dingy Harry and the Democrats of holding them hostage today.
No wonder Dingy Harry's put out.
He and Obama are blaming Boehner for holding them hostage.
This little mayor walks over there with Eleanor Holmes Norton, claims they're being held hostage by the Democrats.
And amazingly, the Washington Post actually printed this.
Okay, we're back, and great to have you here.
And by the way, CNN, I love this.
CNN just learned that Obama knew that the healthcare.gov website wouldn't work.
I'm not kidding.
Wolf Blitzer spoke with correspondent Brian Todd about the Obamacare website.
He said, Brian Todd has been taking a closer look at this part of the story.
What are we seeing right now?
Well, into a week into this new program, Brian.
We spoke to Robert Leszzewski.
He is a healthcare consultant who has clients who are insurers.
He says his insurers who dealt with the administration in the months ahead of time, he says the insurers that he dealt with had contentious meetings with people at HHS and other health care officials who were in charge of this.
Contentious meetings in the months before this rollout, warning them, this isn't working.
It's not going to be smooth.
Don't do it right then.
He says those warnings were ignored.
They went full speed ahead and said, we'll work these problems out.
Now, there's a bit of pushback from the White House.
So hallelujah.
CNN has just learned that the regime knew it wasn't going to work.
The regime didn't care.
That's what they won't admit.
And Wolf, he hears this and get this.
If they had three years to get this ready, if they weren't fully ready, they should accept the advice that a lot of Republicans are giving them.
Delay it another year, get it ready, and make sure it works.
Whoa, no, no, no.
Wolf, did you really mean to say that?
Oh, be still here, my heart here.
Did Wolf really say, play that again?
I'm not sure what I just heard, what I heard.
Play it again.
If they have three years to get this ready, if they weren't fully ready, they should accept the advice that a lot of Republicans are giving them.
Delay it another year, get it ready, and make sure it works.
Oh, this is so unusual.
Wolf Blitzer actually just said if they had three years to get this ready, if they weren't fully ready, they should accept the advice a lot of Republicans are giving them.
Delay it another year, get it ready, and make sure it works.
See, Wolf, they weren't going to do that because then the sticker shock.
See, next year is an election year.
You can't have what's happening now happen in an election year, Wolf.
This is why it didn't matter whether it worked.
They have to roll it out now.
And then they're planning on the fact that you and your buddies in the media and therefore everybody else will forget this by the time one year from now rolls around.
That website, by the way, the original projected cost $93 million.
The end cost $643 million.
I kid you not.
Okay, so the House of Representatives just unanimously voted to restore death benefits.
26 families were not receiving death benefits, military families.
Now, my question is this.
Because Obama's going to sign this.
Why this?
And not the NIH funding bill for kids with cancer.
The publicity was too bad in this military.
What I'm being facetious with the question.
My point here is I understand the publicity on this was hot to trot, but there has been probably not as intense, but there's been publicity on the NIH and some of these other piecemeal things.
And I still, I'm going to tell you something, folks.
What happened on the National Mall with the Park Service letting the Amnesty people in there, they don't know yet what that's going to end up causing this regime and costing them.
They haven't the slightest idea.
That we're talking easy to understand.
I meant to make this point earlier that you don't need to be Republican, Democrat.
Understand ideology.
This is just not right.
Keep World War II vets out of there.
Don't let them in.
You know, you padlock the fences to keep them out.
And then you open it up, giving an exemption to people who are not even citizens to come in and bitch.
I'm going to tell you, that's something, this is going to cost the regime a lot.
And I don't think they fully appreciate that yet.
This is Joanne in Fort Worth, Texas.
It's great to have you on the program, Joanne.
How are you?
I am doing great personally, but I don't know about this government.
You know, we were looking at TV.
My husband served in the service over 20, 30 years almost.
And he was seeing that these families were not getting the benefits that they deserve and were promised to them.
You know, his eyes watered when he saw this because he imagined himself over there dying for me and my children, his family, and then knowing that we were out in the cold, that our government literally threw us out in the cold.
This is ridiculous.
And I think that each and every one of us should go to those memorials.
And personally, if I could go down there, take all those barricades down.
Why do you think this happened, Joanne?
I think it happened because Barack Obama, our president of the United States, has no honor with a capital H.
No honor.
No honor.
Well, this happened because of the government shutdown.
They just didn't, because of the shutdown, they said they didn't have the money for these benefits.
You know, I don't play these games.
I don't play these word games.
I don't play any of these other games.
The president, he had the airplane for Air Force One.
He was going to go overseas somewhere to go visit somebody else in another country.
So that means that his plane and his fuel that he decided not to use after all, because it would look bad for him, he could use it for those families.
Do you know how bad it is?
Joanne, you know how bad it really is for Obama?
It's really a shame.
Do you know his wife had to cancel a $32,000 a plate fundraiser in California this week because of the shutdown?
Because she can't use the airplane to get there.
Isn't that a shame?
The media made a big deal of it.
If poor Michelle can't go and pal around with Harvey Weinstein, whoever it is, a 32-grand plate because the shutdown, she can't get on the plane.
I guess she could fly commercial, but I guess the Secret Service wouldn't permit that.
Well, at least she could still go and pray for God to help her out in these situations, whereas a lot of Catholics don't have that position and don't have that privilege anymore.
What do you mean, pray?
Michelle Obama pray to who?
You know, whoever they want to pray to, but all I know is that a lot of Catholics won't be able to go and pray that these people get their minds in order and open their hearts and do what's right for everybody, you know, in the United States.
Well, no, no, no, the Catholics, they're going to have birth control pills thrown at them when they go away.
Well, you know, there's a lot of priests that are on base that are furloughed, so they're not allowed to hold mass.
Mass has been canceled, and they were told if they did any kind of sacraments or secrets.
Yes.
Yeah.
It really is outrageous.
I know.
I know.
It's outrageous.
But they're trying to fix it, Joanne.
The Republicans in the House heard about this and they fixed it.
You know, the guy is unwilling to negotiate, supposedly.
Anyway, Joanne, I appreciate the call.
You know, ladies and gentlemen, you remember Maxine Waters?
She was on, I think, the CNN.
Roland Martin still worked there then.
And now he's somewhere else at like Media One or Media One and a Half.
I don't know where he is.
But he was at CNN, and she was a guest on his show.
And she said, and we had the audio.
Cookie, you don't need to go get it.
I can quote it.
She said, the president has put in place an organization with the kind of database that no one has ever seen before in life.
It's going to be very, very powerful.
And that database will have information about everything on every individual on ways that it's never been done before.
And whoever runs for president on the Democratic ticket has to deal with that.
They're going to go down with that database and the concerns of those people because they can't get around it.
And he's, Obama, he's been very smart.
It's very powerful what he's leaving in place.
You remember that?
You know, Maxine screws up every now and then and lets the whole cat out of the bag.
He's talking to the oil executives one day.
We want to take over your companies.
They had to send the mayor of Washington to her apartment and say, shut up.
We don't say that in public.
But she did.
As I'm listening to Joanne talk about all this, I'm remembering Maxine Waters talking about this massive Obama database that he's setting up that nobody's ever had before.
And the point that she was making, any Democrat that runs against him is going to just be humiliated and embarrassed if they try to unseat him because they're going to know every bit of dirt that there is.
And then he's going to have this thing in place.
He's going to leave it to the Democrat Party when he leaves and they're going to have access to it.
And we just heard, just learned from the Politico, when you set up an account, you go to healthcare.gov and you're just looking around.
And one of the first things you have to do is set up an account.
And once you do that, you can never delete it.
Politico is reporting.
Once you set up your account, and that means your username and password and all of your vitals, that's what setting up the account is.
All the questions.
You can never delete your account.
And everybody signing up at Obamacare.gov, this is the database that Maxine's talking about.
Healthcare.gov, you set up your account and you can't delete it.
It's your permanent record, folks.
Even if you just go there to play around and see what this thing is, before you can do that, you have to set up your account.
And once that's done, you can't delete it.
It is there forever.
You remember, ladies and gentlemen, the IRS story harassing the Tea Party came out that it was a couple of rogue IRS employees in Cincinnati.
Turns out not to be the case.
Top Internal Revenue Service Obamacare official Sarah Hall Ingram discussed confidential taxpayer information with senior Obama White House officials according to 2012 emails obtained by the House Oversight Government Reform Committee and provided to the Daily Caller.
So it does reach to the White House.
You know there was a time in American history, 1970s, White House involvement with the IRS was considered fatal to a presidency, as in Nixon.
