I, of course, am the host.
The guy that's always right, Rush Limbaugh, half my brain tied behind my back, just to make it fair.
Big believers in fairness here.

You know what else I just remembered about this debt ceiling deal?
Joe Biden said that if the debt deal was not done, that there would be more rapes.
Do you remember that?
Remember that from last summer?
I'm having Cookie track down the audio of this.
I'm fairly confident that we aired it.
But Biden was running around.
There were some news item, and it might have been in Wisconsin.
Something happened somewhere, maybe Wisconsin.
And the Democrats got on this business that more rapes were going to happen if we didn't do the debt deal because it was about cops.
One of the things that Obama wanted to do with the debt limit increase was to go out and hire more cops.
So Biden starts talking about the fact that there were rapes going on out there.
And that if we didn't raise the debt ceiling, it'd be even more rapes.
And a guy named Jason Matera caught up with Biden and asked him about it.
Biden said that rape was up and that murder was up and that murder and rape would continue to rise if Republicans didn't pass the debt deal.
I'm fairly confident that we've got that.
Yeah, it was Flint, Michigan.
That's right.
It was Flint, Michigan.
Biden said that Flint, Michigan would have to cut its police force, and therefore the rape rate in Flint would go up if the debt deal was not signed.
As Selene Deion once sang, it's all coming back to me now.
All of this outrageous stuff over raising the debt ceiling a couple of trillion, 1.8 trillion or something.
And I was, this has really got me curious now, folks.
I have to tell you this massive front page story in the Washington Post pointing out how Obama lied, how he was a horrible negotiator, how the Republicans gave Obama everything he wanted, and that was the last thing he wanted because he wanted to run against a do-nothing Congress.
So he goes out and addresses the nation and claims that the Republicans were not interested in working with him.
They didn't want to compromise.
All they wanted was to cut the budget.
And they had proposed $800 million in tax increases.
They'd given Obama what he wanted.
And I remember some of the outrageous stuff being said.
And one of them was Biden saying that there would be more rapes.
Yeah, it's starting to come back to you now, isn't it, folks?
Yeah.
And Jason Matera caught up with, is you really going to sell this jobs bill by talking about rape?
And Biden stuck with it?
Murder will continue to rise.
Rape will continue to rise.
All crimes will continue to rise if we don't raise the debt limit.
That's what Biden was saying.
Now, folks, as you may have heard by now, I'm on Twitter.
And since we were just talking about the civility of the entertainers and pundits of the left, I thought I'd let you know over the week, I think it was weekend, Alec Baldwin tweeted that Jim Inhoff, the senator from Oklahoma, was a whore for oil.
I'm thinking of tweeting that and asking all of you to get a Twitter account and retweet the stuff that we put up there.
By the way, my critics and enemies are very upset that we have gone to Twitter.
They're very unhappy about this.
They're saying so to each other.
They are irritated that I have now activated my Twitter account, which is at Limbaugh or at Rush Limbaugh, no space between Rush and Limbaugh.
There's two ways that you can follow.
A bunch of fake Limbaughs up Twitter, but the two places you can legitimately follow us are at Limbaugh, at Rush Limbaugh.
And Alec Baldwin tweeted, is there a bigger oil whore alive than James Inhoff?
And let's not forget, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. called Inhoff a prostitute a couple weeks ago.
RFK Jr. tweeted, speaking of prostitutes, Big Oil's top call girl, Senator Inhoff, wants to kill fuel economy backed by automakers.
So, according to Alec Baldwin, favored Democrat actor, and RFK Jr., favored Democrat activist, calling James Inhoff a whore and a prostitute is a Democrat talking point.
And there's no condemnation for it whatsoever.
Now, speaking of all of this, ladies and gentlemen, I got my new iPad on Friday and I raced home and I set it up.
Took me about an hour and a half to sync it with my old iPad back up previous, restore from a previous backup and so forth.
Now, I must tell you something.
I spend a lot of time on all of the Apple blogs that I can find and the high-tech blogs.
And all last week, before the iPad, the third generation, the new iPad was released, there were reviews.
And these reviews, almost without exception, there was David Pogue of the New York Times was an exception, and maybe a couple of others, but for the most part, the reviews of the new iPad were over the top and particularly on the new screen, which has four times the pixels as the iPad 2 retina display.
Supposedly the best-looking display out there.
More pixels, sharper resolution than even a 27 or 50-inch HDTV.
And the reviews that I read made this thing out to be unlike anything anybody's ever seen.
So I was eager to get home and take a look at it.
I didn't bother looking at it until I had fully restored and had it ready and up and running.
And when I turned it on after it was restored, I looked at the screen.
I went to different places.
I checked some high-definition movies.
I just looked at diverse websites, apps that had been optimized for the new display.
And it wasn't as good, I thought, as they said.
And I was reminded, I was one of the last to see the movie, The Exorcist.
By the time I saw it, everybody had told me how horror it was, scary it was, gross.
Think of every superlative you might add to a horror movie and multiply it times 10.
I was expecting to be so scared I was going to be running out of the theater within two seconds of seeing Linda Blair.
Well, I sat through it all, and when it was over, I said, what was the big deal here?
What had happened was my expectations had been raised so high that there was no way that movie was going to be as scary and as gory as I had been led to believe.
Well, the same thing happened to me with this iPad.
The reviews that I read raised my expectations such that there was no way this screen was going to be anywhere near as good as I was expecting it to be.
And all night Friday and into Saturday, I'm sitting, honestly, I'm a little disappointed.
But then something happened.
Yesterday afternoon, instead of using my computer to do show prep, I sat down, I put the iPad in front of me on my desk, and I just exclusively used it.
And I don't know why, but all of a sudden, I changed my tune and I was blown away by that display.
I was blown away by the screen.
It took me a day and a half or two days of using it before I fully, finally appreciated just how amazingly good it is.
And this has interested me because I really was a little disappointed Friday night.
And I remember I sent my brother a note because I sent him his iPad for Saturday delivery.
I said, look, I don't know how much of you've read about this, and it's good.
It's a fine display, but it's not going to blow your socks off.
You've seen this.
You've seen it on your iPhone.
It's the same display for the most part, just bigger.
Well, he had not read the reviews.
He had not spent his time on the Apple blogs.
He's writing a book, soon to be finished with it.
He was blown away.
I am now too.
I am totally blown away with this.
But it took me two days to appreciate it.
I don't know why.
Just something yesterday afternoon.
I'm sitting there and all of a sudden, so what has happened?
I have pretty good 1080 projection TV.
I've got a 14-foot 1080p projection to that, believe me, it's good.
And I've got one in my library.
And now they don't look 1080 to me anymore compared to the iPad.
The iPad blows them away.
And they're good.
They're state of the art.
But the sharpness of the iPad screen is much better than my big screen TVs.
And these are rear screen projection.
They're not flat screens.
It is amazing.
It really is.
It took it two days for me to realize.
Now, here's what I did.
Before I knew any of this, I arranged, as I always do, for, and I secured, I got it.
We got a huge supply of the new iPads.
And they are at the engraver as we speak.
They are being engraved with the EIB logo and the Rush Limbaugh signature, much as the previous iPad 2s that we had that were engraved.
These are the ones just released last Friday.
And what I'm going to do, we did this when we started out on Facebook.
We're going to give one of these new iPads away every day starting tomorrow.
And we're going to make it as easy as possible to enter to win one.
Basically, you're just going to have to follow us on Twitter at either Limbaugh or at Rush Limbaugh.
Again, no space between Rush Limbaugh.
Those are both official handles of the show.
Just pick one of them and follow it, and you'll be in there.
If you have a Twitter account, you already know what to do.
Search for at Limbaugh or at Rush Limbaugh with no space.
Click the follow button.
If you're not on Twitter already to sign up, all you need is an email address.
It's free.
You go to twitter.com.
The signup is right there on the homepage.
As a bonus, you can follow your own friends.
They can follow you.
It's a way to send and get messages from people of interest to you.
It's a lot of fun.
Some people go overboard with it, which we will not do, but a lot of people do.
Our experiment here, by the way, posting links on Twitter is going well, and we're going to keep it up.
As I say, the left is really irritated that we have entered what they consider to be their private domain.
They really think they own Twitter.
Now that we've entered it, you have really irritated them.
Now, the rules are going to be, they're not up yet because we're going to start the giveaways tomorrow, but you'll be able to find the rules and what you have to do to be eligible to win one of these new iPads at my website, rushlimbaugh.com.
And I'll let you know, just keep checking there.
It'll be on the homepage there, and you'll eventually find out what you have to do to be eligible to win one of these new iPads, which I have to tell you, after two days, day and a half, I was overwhelmed, impressed with the technology after the first night being a little bit disappointed.
But now this thing blows away my televisions, which were state-of-the-art.
It's an amazing piece of technology, and we're going to give one away every day for five or six days, starting tomorrow.
Okay, brief timeout, and we'll get back.
Your phone calls are coming next here on the EIB.
Oh, and I found the Biden sound bites talking about rape.
We'll have those when we get back.
Don't go away.
No, no, I'll tell you how I did it.
I got the same movie.
I had a movie in iTunes, and I watched it via the new 1080p Apple TV on both of my screens.
And it looked good.
Looked great.
1080, looked as the Apple 1080, Apple TV 1080p is pretty close to Blu-ray.
It's not quite, but it's there.
So then I went to the same movie on the iPad, and it blew it away.
It's incomparable.
And what's on the television isn't bad.
I don't know why it took me a day and a half.
Maybe my vision was 2050 Friday.
I don't know.
But something, it took me until Sunday to be duly impressed with it.
So we're going to be giving one away each day for a while now via a little foray into Twitter.
Here's Biden.
And I was wrong.
It was not about the debt limit deal that Biden was threatening that rapes would go up.
It was the second stimulus last October.
It was Obama's jobs bill, the American Jobs Act, the second stimulus.
And this was last fall.
The debt limit deal was last summer.
This came afterwards.
This was another stimulus, more shovel-ready jobs because the first stimulus didn't do any of that.
You know, when I think back, this administration and the things they have done, you look back on it, it's folly.
It is just utter incompetent folly combined with a genuine danger of the vision this guy has for this country.
By the way, Dawn, you know who the supermodel Elle McPherson is.
Well, she let the cat out of the bag over the weekend.
She lives in, I guess, in the UK, lives in Britain.
She says, I'm a socialist.
I love Obama.
Why not?
I'm one.
So one of his supermodel fans has let the cat out of the bag.
Let there be no doubt.
As far as his buddies are concerned, he's a fellow traveler.
And you laugh, but I'm telling you, you know, a bunch of these people that live on entertainment tonight and e-entertainment, they're going to hear that.
Oh, wow, Obama's, that's how we're going to get through to him.
Get more brain-dead models talking about what Obama really is.
Sorry, more supermodels talking about what not brain-dead.
I'm sure Elle McPherson's brilliant.
She'd have to be to figure out Obama just like she is.
But anyway, Elle McPherson will get through to the brain-dead, to the viewers of those access shows at 6:30 and 7:30 at night.
Okay, so here's Biden.
And again, this is trying to sell the American Jobs Act, October 12th in Flint, Michigan, at the downtown fire department.
In 2008, when Flint had 265 sworn officers on the police force, there were 35 murders and 91 rapes in this city.
In 2010, when Flint had only 144 police officers, the murder rate climbed to 65, and rapes, just to pick two categories, climbed to 229.
In 2011, you now only have 125 shields.
God only knows what the numbers will be this year for Flint if we don't rectify it.
And God only knows what that number would have been had we not been able to get a little bit of help to you.
God only knows how many more rapes if there hadn't been Obama and Biden.
God only knows.
God only knows how many more rapes if there wasn't Obama to get more money for Flint, Michigan.
October 18th in Philadelphia at the University of Philadelphia.
Biden speaking about the American Jobs Act.
Let me tell you, it's not temporary when that 911 call comes in and a woman's being raped if a cop shows up in time to prevent the rape.
It's not temporary to that woman.
It's not temporary to the guy whose store is being held up and has a gun pointed at his head if a cop shows up and he's not killed.
That's not temporary to that store owner.
Give me a break.
Temporary.
So disgusting.
So disgusting.
And he got away with it at the time.
It's like he got away with this silly notion that rapes would increase in Flint if we didn't spend more federal money.
So not passing the American Jobs Act was just more of the Republicans' war on women.
That's how they were trying to activate it last year.
And every fact-checker in the country looked at what all these numbers that Biden's throwing around here, 91 rapes here, 65 over there.
They fact-checked it and they found that he had all of his figures wrong.
So he goes into Pittsburgh on Saturday for St. Patrick's Day for the parade.
He ended up getting booed big time when he turned in the main venue of the place, Standwick Street.
There are things going on.
I got to take a break here.
We come back, I promise we'll get to your phone calls three and a half minutes, four minutes, whatever it is, at 800-282-2882.
Don't go anywhere.
Back before you know it.
Let me amend my characterization of the model Elle McPherson.
I would like to now say, out of the mouths of babes.
She will have obviously a lot of influence over a certain pop culture demographic that hears her say, oh, yeah, Obama's a socialist just like me.
Why wouldn't I like him?
So he's actually done us all a favor.
Out of the mouth of babes.
Okay, to the phones we go.
It's Sandra, Mount Vernon, Ohio.
Great to have you on the EIB network.
Hello.
Hi, Rush.
What a pleasure to be able to speak with you.
Very much.
I appreciate it.
Our bright spot in my day every day because you're there to tell it like it is, and we like that.
Thank you.
I have two points to make.
First of all, maybe some of this talk about the debt ceiling and the debt limit, could that be in response to the Ryan video, which, of course, is up against the Obama video, I'm Better Than God video that he's got out.
Well, maybe, except this piece that's in the Washington Post has to have been in the works for a long time.
It's extensive.
It might be that they're trying to counter Paul Ryan and his budget, which he's going to announce this week.
And he's got a very good, his video is extremely good.
There's got to be something else, though.
And I am going to find out what it is.
Because it's not just the Washington Post.
The New York Times magazine is doing a long piece on this, and Woodward is writing a book about it.
Well, I'm sure you'll get to the bottom of it if anybody's going to be able to do it.
Yes.
Because this is something that if I were them, if I'm on Obama's team, I let this go.
I let it slide.
I don't remind anybody unless they have got wind that the Republicans are going to try to make some hay out of this in the campaign, and they're trying to blunt that by getting it out now so that it's forgotten about during the October, November period.
Who knows?
But we'll find out.
Okay.
My second point, then, Rush, is concerning Obama, since he's such a joke of a president.
It's the old question, how do you know when Obama's lying?
And the answer, his mouth is open.
Why, I think maybe we ought to play a laugh track after everything he says so that, you know, like they do on television, because most Americans know he has no shame about lying about anything anytime.
So perhaps we ought to play a laugh track after everything he says.
We have, on occasion, we've done the idiot buzzer.
We have done a laugh track.
It's like anything else, though.
You can overdo it, and you then can arouse sympathy.
One of the things, I don't know if it's in the polls from last Monday, Tuesday, and today in theHill.com, but one of the things that the Republican establishment tells everybody as to why they temper their criticism is that the polls all show that Obama is personally liked and that even some people feel sorry for him because it's such a big job.
He's trying so hard.
He's such a smart guy.
He's trying so hard to fix this.
Just all kinds of bad luck.
And they don't want to arouse any more sympathy for the guy.
I don't buy all of that.
I don't think you get these other poll results from people who on the other end of the scale, oh, what a great guy.
Oh, what a nice guy.
Unless they just think he's profoundly incompetent.
But from the anecdotal evidence I have, there's anger toward these policies.
There's anger toward Obama and what he's doing and the effect of his policies.
But I'm going to tell you, your call gives me the occasion again.
Last Monday, there were two devastating polls, and there's another one out today from thehill.com.
And the results in this poll are as devastating as the polls of last Monday.
And you put them together with this front-page Washington Post story, and these are not happy days.
Remember, they've got a media they think they control.
Well, I don't think they do control it.
They've got a media that they know.
If there were just a 30% shift in the mainstream media in terms of turning around their curiosity and suspicion about Republicans onto Obama and the Democrats, you would have such a starkly different picture of this country every day in the news media than what you get now.
If they were just mildly suspicious of Obama, if they were mildly distrustful, if they expended just 10% of the effort to get Obama's approval numbers down, as they did George W. Bush, you'd have an entirely different attitude.
Your mood would be entirely different.
And they know that in the White House.
They know that they've got a sycophantic accomplice, supportive media.
And that's why their own house organs coming out with these polls and this data, coupled with this Washington Post story yesterday, has got to be upsetting to them.
And the fact that they're not raising as much money as they projected and as they expected.
It's not happy days are here again.
Then you've got this CeeLo Green out there dropping the F-bomb, singing his song bare moments before Obama shows up on the same stage.
Here's Mike in Lynn, Massachusetts.
Mike, thanks for calling.
I appreciate your patience and welcome to the program, sir.
Hi, mass conservative.
2FYT drinking, cigar smoking, dittos to you, Rush.
Way to go, sir.
You're a man after my own passions.
All right.
I have another take on the booing of Biden.
I think because he's such a boob, if you will, that it's possible that he might not be on the ballot for the vice presidency, and they want somebody more extreme.
Most people think it might be Hillary, but I think it might be Trump, and that is why the union was bullying him.
Now, if there was something else more extreme, maybe they're using one square in the bottom by the way.
Hold it a second.
I need to get your thinking on this.
What does Biden getting booed have to do with whether he's going to be on the ticket or not?
Because people in Pittsburgh don't know that.
People in Pittsburgh don't know a lot of things other than football, but I think that he's makes so many gaps, and I think his time is done, and they don't want to risk any more gaps or have him slip up, and they want someone more extreme than him.
He's just a puppet.
Okay, so you think, well, but all vice, most vice presidents are puppets.
Cheney, a notable exception.
You think the fact that Biden got booed is going to send the message to Obama, I've got to get rid of this guy?
Yes, sir.
Oh, that's what you mean.
Okay.
Well, maybe.
Could well be.
We will find out.
Nothing would surprise you.
Obama will do whatever he has to do to win.
Anything, folks, anything he has to do.
He lied in a primetime address to the nation about the debt deal last summer.
Bald-faced, blatant, arrogant lie.
All because that whole thing last summer was oriented toward his reelection.
So if Biden has to go, Biden has to go.
Biden's out there saying, by the way, that Obama has a spine of steel.
Biden's saying all the right sycophantic things.
But that's the, look, Pittsburgh is a Democrat town.
Pittsburgh is a union town.
And here comes Mr. Democrat, Mr. Union, Joe Biden.
guy gets booed at the St. Patrick's Day parade.
It's just an anecdote.
It's one of those little things that nobody will remember five months from now that could be a real indicator of the public attitude toward Obama from working class people.
Remember, the Obama administration has essentially written them off.
And we have that in a column by Thomas B. Edsel last December, I believe, wrote it in the New York Times.
He's a former Washington Post reporter.
He's now at the Huffing and Puffington Post.
And he wrote a piece in the New York Times admitting that part of the Obama reelect strategy was to write off, in fact, his story, white working class Americans, white working class families.
And we're going to write them off and not make any effort to get their votes because they're polling so poorly among that group already.
And make no mistake, Obama is still polling poorly with women.
Oh, and that reminds me, this mandate that the Catholic Church and others buy contraceptives, that has now been codified.
It came out sometime last couple days, and it's even worse than was originally thought.
Let me grab that during the break and I'll have it for you when we get back.
The plot thickens, ladies and gentlemen.
Here's another potential reason for the Washington Post story of yesterday, detailing Obama's abject failure as a negotiator.
Well, not really true.
He got what he wanted, but he lied.
He put his re-election first.
He lied to the American people about what the Republicans were offering.
He ended up getting his debt deal, though.
But maybe there's another reason.
We're trying to figure out why run this now.
This piece does not make Obama look good, folks.
It does not make him look like a skilled negotiator.
It does not make Pelosi and Reed look like they're engaged.
They look like puppets.
It blatantly says that Obama lied in a primetime address.
It exonerates Boehner and Cantor.
They gave Obama everything he wanted, and he still moved the goalposts.
In private negotiations, Boehner and Canter, okay, you want tax increase?
Here, here's $800 million.
Obama would go out and say the Republicans will not budge off of the fact they're demanding spending cuts only.
Just blatantly lying.
We're trying to figure out why.
Bob Woodward's writing a book on this.
New York Times magazine's got a piece coming.
The Washington Post was first yesterday.
Well, it turns out, here's another possible reason.
David Korn, a well-known liberal agitating journalist, used to write for the nation.
He's all over the place out there.
He has a new book called Showdown, the Inside Story of how Obama fought back against Boehner, Cantor, and the Tea Party.
And I think his book, The Corn Book, hits bookstores tomorrow, either tomorrow or next Tuesday.
But anyway, in his book, in The Corn Book, Obama is said to blame Fox News for his political woes in a private meeting with labor leaders in 2010, saying he was losing white males who turn into the cable outlet Fox News.
And here Obama is a Muslim 24-7.
So the Corn Book is out.
This is Obama, brave, courageous, fighting back against Fox News, fighting back against Boehner and Cantor.
So Korn's book has an entirely different take than the Washington Post piece.
So the plot thickens on this.
Korn's got a book coming out praising Obama's courageous and gutsy.
He's up against the juggernaut, Fox News, who's out there telling their white audience members that Obama's a Muslim.
And you've got the Washington Post with their story putting the blame for all of this on Obama.
Here's the healthcare mandate story.
This is the New York Times, and it's from March 60th.
It's Friday.
The Obama administration took another step on Friday to enforce a federal mandate for health insurance coverage of contraceptives, announcing how the new requirement would apply to the many Roman Catholic hospitals, universities, and social service agencies that insure themselves.
And that, folks, was the news.
The mandate has been expanded to cover self-insured religious groups now.
The story is, up until now, that when Obama first mandated that the Catholic Church and its universities and other schools provide contraception, remember, members of the church protested, and Obama supposedly backed off and said, okay, okay, well, we'll transfer the mandate to insurance companies.
And I remember pointing out, well, he doesn't have the constitutional authority to do that either.
We're talking the First Amendment, religious freedom.
Obama does not have the constitutional authority to mandate that anybody provide contraceptives or anything else free of charge.
He doesn't have the authority.
But after he backed off, publicly anyway, in mandating that the Catholic Church do it and pass it on to the insurance companies, there were stories, hey, you see that?
We beat Obama back.
Obama changed tune.
And I pointed out he didn't change tune.
He just shifted the blame and the responsibility.
Well, what happened on Friday, Kathleen Sebelius, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, dropped the other shoe on Friday.
What this clarification, and the headline of the New York Times story is U.S. clarifies policy on birth control for religious groups.
What this clarification actually is, is an expansion of the Obama mandate.
The first mandate that got everybody up and are you remember it well.
The first mandate only required religious groups that buy commercial insurance to provide contraception.
But with what they announced on Friday, self-insured religious groups have to provide birth control and morning after pills.
So Obama did not back off.
He is still mandating that religious organizations, religious groups who both buy health insurance or who self-insure, either one now, provide contraception.
So the headline of this story should be, Obama Mandates Pill for Self-Insured Churches.
He expanded the mandate on Friday in the New York Times, late in the afternoon when nobody's paying attention.
Plus, you've got the final, well, you've got March Madness going on, a number of other things that are occupying people's minds, all kinds of diversions from what Obama doesn't want you paying attention to.
Contrary to what you might be thinking that Obama backed off and that the religious organizations beat it back, no.
It's even worse than originally proposed.
The mandate was expanded so that churches who self-insured themselves, self-insure, think of it, they provide their own insurance.
They have now been mandated to provide contraception pills, morning after pills, abortive patients, all this.
So the mandate has been expanded.
That was the news from Friday.
And it's from a very happy New York Times, by the way, as they report the story.
Folks, I got another big tweet.
Being prepared.
It's all about how Democrat operatives are astroturfing this fake advertiser boycott that they claim is happening on this program.
Fake advertiser boycott.
We have a web page, actually a couple web pages that show internally from them how they are orchestrating this fake boycott.
We are preparing that to be tweeted up now.
And I'll let you know when it's ready to go.
In the meantime, when we've tweeted it, in the meantime.
