Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24-7 podcast.
Somebody's wondering, when is Obama going to repudiate Hoffa?
How do we know that Obama did not suggest to Hoffa that he say what he said?
What do you mean repudiate?
He went up there after Hoffa said what he said and basically praised him.
I wonder, what is this?
When is Obama going to repudiate Hoffa?
Obama wrote it for Hoffa.
Who the hell do you think's inspiring these sons of bitches anyway?
Quote unquote.
Well, I mean, if Hoffa can use the lingo and if Obama can find nothing wrong with it, I mean, what are we talking about here, folks?
And Obama's going to be making a speech to those sons of bitches on Thursday night.
Yeah, Cookie asked me, should I delete that word bitches?
No.
Hoffa used it.
This is your Democrat party.
This is who he is.
Do you not find it?
By the way, greetings and welcome at Tel Rushpoe.
And I feel confident that your kids that are worth anything are back in school.
So I don't mind using the lingo.
If your kids are not in school, they're worthless kids anyway, and probably already know the lingo before I do.
And yes, I'm in a fit-to-be-tied mood today about a whole bunch of stuff, so just bear with it.
You've probably heard Jimmy Hoffa's attack on the Tea Party at the Labor Day speech in Detroit, Obama's praise of Hoffa afterwards.
Everybody said, well, when is Obama going to refute Hoffa?
Hell.
Obama wrote it for Hoffa.
Obama suggested it.
Before we get to what was said, don't you just love the irony?
Here we have James Hoffa and Barack Hussein Obama commemorating Labor Day in Detroit, a city that epitomizes the disaster brought about by the Alliance of Labor Unions and Government.
Here is a city that is crumbling.
They are bulldozing parts of the city.
It's a city run by Democrats and unions for 50 years.
What is the unemployment rate in Detroit?
I hate it.
I mean, 50%.
Detroit's one of our strong markets.
But the unemployment rate in Detroit is astronomically high.
They're tearing half the city down.
They're leaving it for farmland.
Obama goes there to celebrate the triumph of organized labor.
You know, it's perfect, really.
Because what you have there is everything you need to know about unions.
Everything you need to know about them.
And as you may have heard by now, ladies and gentlemen, in his introduction of Mr. Obama, Jimmy Hoffa said, President Obama, this is, well, why?
Wait.
Why read it?
Why not let you hear it?
And before we play Jimmy Hoffa, let's put this in the proper context, shall we?
President Obama meeting with Don Hoffa in Detroit to talk about the working man.
And here is what Don Hoffa had to say.
We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face, a war on workers.
And you see it everywhere.
It is the Tea Party.
And you know, there's only one way to beat and win that war.
The one thing about working people is we like a good fight.
And you know what?
They got a war.
They got a war with us.
And there's only going to be one where it's going to be the workers of Michigan and America.
We're going to win that war.
President Obama, this is your army.
We are ready to march.
Let's take these son of a bitches out and give America back to America where we belong.
That's a declaration of war.
I mean, that is a come on to violence.
That's a call for violence, folks.
From Don Hoffa to Barack Obama, who's standing right beside him.
Can there be any doubt Hoffa, maybe Obama been thinking of Republicans as their bitches ever since he was elected?
Detroit unemployment has the highest unemployment rate in the U.S.
It's 15.7%.
15.7%.
I hope before this is all over, Hoffa has to go hide in Italy someplace.
This is just, this is just, this is, this is all about the Tea Party.
Scared to death.
Hoffa wants to go to the mattresses.
That's what this is all about.
And here's Obama.
This is Obama after Hoffa.
Some proud sons and daughters of Michigan representing working people here and across the country.
SEIU president Mary Kay Henry.
Teamster president Jimmy Hoffa.
Yeah, right up, right up.
Well, let's listen, grab somebody one again.
Let's listen to Don Hoffa.
We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face, a war on workers.
And you see it everywhere.
It is the Tea Party.
And you know, there's only one way to beat and win that war.
The one thing about working people is we like a good fight.
And you know what?
They got a war.
They got a war with us.
And there's only going to be one winner.
It's going to be the workers of Michigan and America.
We're going to win that war.
President Obama, this is your army.
We are ready to march.
Let's take these son of a bitches out and give America back to America where we belong.
Right on, there's Obama cheering and cheering because Obama said it, or Hoffa said it exactly as Obama intended it to be said.
And you'll notice, ladies and gentlemen, Hoffa was not speaking metaphorically.
This was not about targets on some online map.
This was not talk about reloading.
This was a direct call for violence.
Make no mistake about this.
It was a direct call for violence, a direct threat against a large portion of the American people.
In fact, Hoffa was calling for attacks against his own union members.
You know, a lot of Tea Party, well, the Tea Party has a number of Teamster members in its ranks.
There's a lot of Teamster workers in the Tea Party.
They too are fed up with all the spinning.
Here comes good old Maxine Waters, and Maxine's calling for another trillion dollars in stimulus.
Way to go, Maxine.
That's exactly what created the Tea Party in the first place.
Robert Redford disappointed in Obama.
The Washington Post with a story.
Obama ratings sink to new low as hopes fade.
Hopes are not fading.
Ladies and gentlemen, hopes because Obama's failing are rising.
At least they are here at the EIB network.
What is this?
Hope fades.
As far as I'm concerned, hope is soaring.
The more Obama fails, the better off we are.
Robert Redford, wrinkles and all, says he's disappointed.
Can't figure out what the guy stands for.
Has written a column.
I'm not going to bother you with it.
It's illiterate.
Basically, he just doesn't understand who the guy is anymore.
Well, he never knew who the guy was.
Everybody fell for image.
After Hoffa finishes, Obama spoke from the same podium where Hoffa had just launched his attack, but he didn't chastise Hoffa for his over-the-top attack on the Tea Party.
He didn't even apologize for Hoffa's rhetoric.
He did not dissociate himself from Hoffa.
Instead, Obama specifically praised Hoffa.
Now, mind you, this is the guy, Barack Obama, who lectured us around the clock after the Tucson shootings about how we needed to be more civil in our public discourse.
Okay, here's Obama in Tucson, my birthday this year, January 12th, at the University of Arizona.
At a time when our discourse has become so sharply polarized.
At a time when we are far too eager to lay the blame for all that ails the world at the feet of those who happen to think differently than we do.
It's important for us to pause for a moment and make sure that we're talking with each other in a way that heals, not in a way that wounds.
Yeah, okay, well, let's do that.
Let's do that.
Let's talk with each other in a way that heals and not in a way that wounds.
When's Obama going to repudiate Hoffa?
He's not going to repudiate Hoffa.
He suggested it to Hoffa.
And then he praised Hoffa when Hoffa was finished.
Let's go back to the Grooveyard archives, November 6, 2008, CNN Campbell Brown, no bias, no bull, I guess was the name of her ill-fated show.
She was talking to correspondent Joe Johns about conservative reaction to the election of President-elect Obama.
And Campbell Brown said, we all saw the pictures at election night, people all over the world dancing in the street, but some Americans, particularly conservatives, have very different feelings about President-elect Obama, many of them feeling really, really angry right now.
Joe John's been listening to what can only be called right-wing rage.
Joe, tell us what these conservatives are saying.
Guess who's already hammering away at the Democrats?
Rush Limbaugh, blasting both Rah Emmanuel and Barack Obama hours after the polls closed.
He is good old-fashioned Chicago thug, just like Obama is a good old-fashioned Chicago thug.
On the night of the Clinton election, Rah Emmanuel was so angry at the president's enemies that he stood up at a celebratory dinner with colleagues from the campaign.
Rah Emmanuel grabbed a steak and he began rattling off a list of betrayers.
And as he listed their names, he shouted dead, dead, dead, and he plunged the stake knife into the table after every name.
This is not a bunch of people that are going to govern from the center.
So if you were thinking the country is now unified, think again.
And let's not, okay, so they're getting on me.
CNN was outraged when I called Obama a Chicago thug.
Has there been any outrage over Jimmy Hoffa, audio soundbite number one?
We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face, a war on workers.
And you see it everywhere.
It is the Tea Party.
And you know, there's only one way to beat and win that war.
The one thing about working people is we like a good fight.
And you know what?
They got a war.
They got a war with us.
And there's only going to be one winner.
It's going to be the workers of Michigan and America.
We're going to win that war.
President Obama, this is your army.
We are ready to march.
Let's take these son of a bitches out and give America back to America where we belong.
That's a direct call for violence against the Tea Party.
No media outrage.
No reports from Joe Johns on CNN about how there isn't any unity.
Obama will speak on Thursday to the son of bitches at a joint session, Congress before the NFL kickoff, a New Orleans Saints and the Green Bay Packers.
This morning on Fox and Friends, the guest of Debbie Blabbermouth Schultz has a discussion about Hoffa and his introduction to President Obama yesterday.
Co-host Gretchen Carlson played the clip and said, Some people are saying that's violent language, Congresswoman.
The White House is refusing to respond to that.
As head of the DNC, what is your official response to Hoffa's threats?
My official response is that we need to make sure that we focus on the middle class and working families and that we bring everyone in this country together from both sides of the aisle to focus like a laser on continuing to get this economy turned around.
So that should be our priority.
Wait a minute.
Wait.
So there's a wait a minute.
Wait a minute.
Never mind, Gretchen.
You're not going to get anything from Blabbermouth Schultz.
In fact, let's go back to January 16th this year on Slay the Nation.
Bob Schieffer was talking to Debbie Blabbermouth Schultz.
He said, you plan to dial back your rhetoric when the Congress convenes this time?
I don't plan to debate my values and the principles of my constituents any less vigorously, but I think it starts with us, and we have to lead by example.
And so I think all of us need to be more careful about the words that we choose to use, including things like the title of the repeal of health care reform.
I'm glad that Speaker Boehner chose to verbalize a different title for that bill, but they so far have refused to actually change the title of job-killing health care repeal.
So I think we need to be leaders by example.
And when we do that, then hopefully we're going to be able to push the shock jocks and others outside our process to take a page from our book.
That would be me, the shock jocks, of course, but Hoffa, hey, exactly what Obama wanted and said.
In fact, last night, John King's USA, we have a montage.
He spoke, let's see, let's see, I guess he interviewed Hoffa last night.
Yeah, questions.
He talked to the Teamsters Union General President Jimmy Hoffa in his montage, and he didn't even ask him about the sons of bitches comment.
Listen for yourself.
I want to begin with your assessment of the president's speech.
Are you convinced now that the president gets the message?
What should he do in that speech?
Your rank and file members, do they support the president in high numbers, or do they either stay home or do we have a Reagan Democrat moment?
Are you confident heading into 2012 that your rank and file will support this Democratic president?
Or will we see in places like Michigan what we saw in the Reagan days, blue-collar Reagan Democrats helping the Republicans?
Do you view that?
Labor right there front and center in the Romney Economic Plan.
James Hoffa is the president of the TMC Jr.
Mr. Hoffa.
Thank you for your time on this Labor Day.
Right.
No, not one question about the SOB comment.
Not one question.
But let's not, before we go to the break, let's not forget John King apologizing for using the term crosshairs on CNN.
We were just having a discussion about the Chicago mayoral race just a moment ago.
My friend Andy Shaw, who now works for a good government group out there, used the term in the crosshairs in talking about the candidates out there.
We're trying, we're trying to get away from that language.
Andy is a good friend.
He's covered politics for a long time, but we're trying to get away from using that kind of language.
Oh, this is fascism on parade.
This is how it works.
This is one-party media, left-wing media supporting Democrats offer King interviewed Hoffa for six minutes, didn't even ask him about that question.
We'll be right back.
A brand new week of broadcast excellence hosted by me, Rush Limbaugh, the big SOB on the right, along with being the big voice on the right.
So the question, the question is being asked: will the president repudiate Hoffa's war on the Republicans?
Will Obama apologize for his vice president?
We're not even going to waste time with what Bite Me said.
He's out there saying much the same kind of thing.
Question, will Obama ever condemn Congressman Carson for his comment that Tea Partiers want to see African Americans hanging from trees?
Now, again, and I'm serious about this, as far as Hoffa is concerned, how do we know that Obama didn't suggest Hoffa make those statements?
The White House has been asking about it.
They're not commenting.
How do we know the president didn't tell Bite Me what to say?
Well, I mean, if there's no apology, if there's no rebuke from the guy who tried to set the tone on civility after the Gabriel Gifford shooting and all this, the guy who wants us all to work together, got a big bipartisan speech coming up, and he allows himself to be introduced in this manner and there's no response to it, then how do we know Obama didn't authorize this?
There's no apology, no rebuke.
The question is going to remain open.
The question will remain legitimate.
I haven't seen Obama publicly dress down Congressman Carson for his comments about wanting Tea Party people wanting African Americans hanging from trees.
So as far as I'm concerned, that means the president thinks the Congress is well within his rights to say that.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is exactly how a community organizer who was mentored and inspired by Jeremiah Wright behaves.
It's how a close friend and confidant of the domestic terrorist Bill Ayers behaves.
Union thugs, domestic terrorists, angry racists have found a special kinship with the president of the United States.
And that is undeniable.
El Rushmore, the big barbarian at the gate.
That's what Obama Bite Me said.
He was the only guy protecting us from the barbarians at the gate.
So I'm the big one.
I'm the big voice on the right.
I'm the big SOB, the big barbarian at the gate.
Let's go to Tony Seattle.
Tony, you say here you think I'm taking Hoffa out of context.
Hello, testing.
Tony, you're there.
Guess not.
Moment of truth comes, Tony begs it.
Is he there or is he not there?
He's not there.
I don't know what I took out of Congress.
Would you explain to me again, Mr. Snirdley, what he said that I took out of context about Hoffa and the SOB comments?
Claims I edited the soundbite to leave out the part about jobs, jobs, jobs.
Which what?
Okay, let's see.
Let's see here.
Let me go back and grab the transcript of the sound bite as we have it.
Okay, we like a good fight.
You know what?
They got a war.
They got a war with us.
There's only going to be one winner.
It's going to be the workers of Michigan.
We're going to win that war.
President Obama, this is your army.
We're ready to march.
Let's take these sons of.
And there's something about jobs in there that we edited out.
He's back.
Tony, you back.
You're back in Seattle?
I am, yes.
Thanks, Rush.
Yeah, okay.
What I take out of context here.
Well, those two quotes, I heard the full quote on a news program earlier.
And in essence, he said that about you've got an army here ready to go to battle, blah, blah, blah.
Then he went on to say, and we are ready to focus on the one thing that makes a difference, and that's jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs.
He said that several times.
They clapped.
They cheered.
Then he went on to say, and we are ready to go to battle and take these sons of bitches out.
But the two quotes were separated by quite a bit.
So the jobs are the sons of bitches he was talking about.
No, he was talking about the army's ready to go to battle.
Okay, the army is the union people.
Right.
And they're going to go to battle for jobs.
Right.
And they're going to take the sons of bitches out.
Right.
Okay.
I don't know what changes.
I'm still the son of a bitch.
The Tea Party is still the son of a bitch, whether it's jobs he's talking about or whatever.
Right.
Where are you getting this?
Are you getting this in Media Matters or something?
Do you get this from a left-wing website here that's destined to prove that Hoffa didn't say what he said?
No, that wasn't the point at all.
As far as I heard, basically, it was on just local news program here.
I won't name the call letters because it's a different station than I listen to you.
But they just played it during their newscast.
And I guess, quite frankly, I thought, okay, Larry O'Donnell, Sergeant Schultz, Chris Matthews, they do that kind of thing.
The point is still the same, even in the full context.
But I just thought, oh, come on.
I trust you.
Well, then what's the point if it's still the same?
We have a timeframe element here.
I've given Cookie a time element of 60 seconds on sound bites so as to not lose the audience's attention.
People are not tuning into this show to listen to Jimmy Hoffa.
So we cut this thing down to 33 seconds.
She cuts it down.
She takes nothing out of context.
She leaves it in context on purpose.
All that was edited out was everybody here's got to vote.
Jobs, jobs, jobs.
But the fact is that Jimmy Hoffa said that we have got to take the SOBs out.
Now, he's not talking about jobs.
He's talking about Republicans.
He's talking about the Tea Party.
There's nothing out of context here.
It's not something that we don't have to take these people out of context anyway.
It's not our intention.
I appreciate it.
It turns out here, Tony's concerned about our credibility, not a Jimmy Hoffa supporter.
But, you know, there was nothing edited about jobs, jobs, jobs.
Anyway, you can see, ladies and gentlemen, by evidence of this, that there is nervousness out there about this.
Now, you might be interested in knowing that the Detroit Free Press did not even mention Hoffa's comments in its coverage of the event.
I'm told, anyway, the Detroit Free Press didn't even mention Hoffa's comment.
John King, CNN, didn't even ask Hoffa about his comments.
When Debbie Blabbermouth Schultz on Fox was asked about the comments, the White House has been asked about the comments, and they refused to comment.
There's nobody saying Hoffa was taken out of context with this.
When James Hoffa talks about taking the SOBs out, everybody knows what he means.
Pure and simple.
Thehill.com didn't even mention Biden's barbarian at the Gates comments in their report on his speech.
I still say, ladies and gentlemen, the irony of all of this is that here's Obama praising Hoffa after Hoffa's remarks.
Labor Day ceremony in Detroit, a city that epitomizes the disaster brought about by the alliance of labor unions and a Democrat-led government, a city that's being bulldozed, a city that's got something like 16% unemployment.
They're tearing the city down, leaving it for farmland.
And of all the places Obama could go on Labor Day, he goes to Detroit to celebrate the triumph of organized labor.
There is no place you can go to celebrate the triumph of organized labor.
In fact, organized labor today, to increase its membership, has to cheat.
It has to schedule elections that nobody knows are happening.
It has to take these are the perform these elections in ways that are intimidating to potential union members.
Look, all of this is quite disturbing to people on the left, make no mistake about it, and that's why all these attempts are being made to claim that Hoffa didn't say what he said or that people are taking it out of context.
The Washington Post is deeply concerned.
John Cohen and Dan Balls have a story today.
Obama ratings sink to new lows as hope fades.
Public pessimism about the direction of the country has jumped to its highest level in nearly three years, erasing the sense of hope that followed Obama's inauguration and pushing his approval ratings to a record low, according to a new Washington Post ABC news poll.
Oh, gee, you know, how soon people forget that Obama killed Osama.
And really, that didn't last long, did it?
Whatever happened to that?
Obama killed Osama.
That's supposed to get him all the way through the election.
Well, hell, here we are.
We're still 14 months away, and people have already forgotten that Obama killed Osama.
More than 60% of those surveys said that they disapprove of the way the president is handling the economy and what has become the number one issue, the stagnant job situation.
Just 43% now approve of the job Obama's doing overall.
That's a new career low in this poll.
Remember, it's 38% in Gallup.
53% disapprove.
That's a new high.
By this time, in their presidencies, approval ratings for both Ronaldus Magnus and Bill Clinton had settled safely above the 50% mark.
Both then stayed in positive territory throughout their reelection campaigns.
Current trends are highly unfavorable for the president, but two to one, more Americans now say the regime's economic policies are making the economy worse than better.
By two to one.
You see how far ahead of my time I am.
Well, I knew this was going to happen.
This is why I said I hope he failed.
The number of people who say that those policies have helped has been chopped in half since the start of the year.
The percentage of Americans disapproving of how Obama's doing when it comes to creating jobs spiked 10 percentage points higher since July.
So, Obama ratings sink to new lows as hope fades.
But why not Obama ratings sink to new lows as hope soars?
Because see, a vast majority of Americans understand now that Obama has failed.
That's what this whole Washington Post article is about.
There's a growing sense out there that Obama and the Democrats are going to be drummed out of office in 2012.
And that is restoring hope.
That is not causing hope to fade.
Hope is soaring that Obama might lose.
And this has inspired millions of people for the first time in years.
And as the country grows hopeful that Obama will be defeated, the president and his allies become more and more desperate, more and more divisive.
Things are also so bad for Obama when Americans are asked a version of the famous, are you better off today, question that Reagan used to bludgeon Jimmy Carter.
By better than two to one, more say they are not as well off financially as they were at the start of Obama's turn.
They are worse off.
What they still don't know is that that was intended.
Maureen Dowd in the Washington Post, I'm sorry, the New York Times, in a column yesterday, entitled One and Done, basically says enough with the big speeches.
What about some action?
Obama's reelection chances depend on painting the Republicans as disrespectful.
So why would the White House act disrespectful by scheduling a speech to a joint session of Congress at the exact time the Republicans already had a debate planned?
And why is the White House so cocky about Obama as a TV draw against quick draw Rick Perry?
As James Carville is cervically noted, given a choice between watching an Obama speech and a Republican debate, he said, I'd watch the debate.
I'm not even a Republican.
So Obama's reelection chances depend on painting the Republicans as disrespectful, and yet he's the one acting disrespectful.
And Maureen Dowd yesterday in the New York Times says, Obama's still suffering from the speech illusion, the idea that he can come down from the mountaintop, read from a teleprompter, cast a magic spell with his words, then climb back up the mountain while we scurry around and do what he proclaimed.
Well, the days of spinning illusions in a Greek temple in a football stadium were done.
The one is dancing on the edge of one term.
The White House team is flailing, reacting, regrouping, retrenching.
It's repugnant.
After pushing and shoving and caving to get on TV, the president's advisors immediately began warning that the long yearned for jobs speech wasn't going to be that awe-inspiring anyway.
She says that it's not going to be that big a deal anyway.
Obama says, by the way, this isn't the whole plan.
I'm holding some in reserve.
So why go on DV?
Why do a speech?
Why have a jobs plan?
I'll tell you why, because it's a campaign appearance, pure and simple.
It's a campaign speech.
It's not about a jobs plan.
Did this a year ago.
I'm going to have a jobs plan when I come back from vacation in Martha's Vineyard.
Three years of jobs plans.
The only jobs that have been created are union jobs at the state level.
Meanwhile, California employment is at a record low.
We're going to vote for Obama in droves, nevertheless.
Percentage of working-age Californians with jobs has fallen to a record low.
Employment may not return to pre-recession levels until the second half of the decade.
Just 55.5% of working-age Californians defined as those 16 or older had a job in July.
Just 55.5%.
And we're back.
It's Rush Limbaugh, the cutting edge of Societal Evolution, America's real anchor man, the Doctor of Democracy.
Fremont, Ohio says, Rick, I'm glad you called, sir.
Great to have you on the program.
Thank you, Rush.
This is great.
This is Rick Fremont.
I am the president of a Tea Party named Squirrel.
And Squirrel stands for Society of Conservatives United for Independence, Representative Republic, Equality, and Liberty.
And our motto is, Squirrel is, our motto is to crack some nuts, gather up the acorns and bury them, Rush.
We're ready.
We're ready.
Hey, we're ready to take on the business.
Sounds like you're ready for Jimmy Hoff and his sons of bitches.
Well, we're ready to take on the SOBs.
SOB stands for Sons of Beelzebub.
Sons of Beazebub.
Yeah, you know, what they're claiming here is that Hoffa was talking about taking out office holders.
You know, take them out, vote, vote, vote, beat them at the ballot box and that sort of thing.
The only problem with that is he was talking about the Tea Party, and the Tea Party doesn't really have any office holders.
No, we have nothing to lose, Rush.
We have nothing to lose.
The Tea Party is strong and growing.
We're not afraid because we have nothing to lose.
Socialism is coming down our throats, and we are ready to battle.
Well, you know, you have a point when you say you've got nothing to lose.
I kind of like that way of looking at it.
If somebody said, oh, yeah, you do have something to lose, what would it be?
Well, I mean, what can they do?
Kill us?
I mean, you know, I mean, that's what Obama wants to do through Saul Linsky's book, Rules for Radicals, is to put fear, create this idea that the unions are going to be the civil police force, and they're trying to put fear out there through words.
Well, I'll just tell you this.
You want to put the SOB comment in context.
Let me do it for you.
Exactly the way the left tried to do it, Sarah Palin and me.
Gabby Giffords was an office holder, and somebody took her out.
And here you've got Jimmy Hoffa talking about taking the sons of bitches out.
Now, I don't care whether you people on the left want to start talking about he meant by voting at the ballot box or whatever.
He's a union honcho, and we know what they mean when they say what they say.
You can give all, you can try this context stuff all you want, but it ain't gonna fly with us.
Homophobe!
Homophobe?
I'm a homophobe for the colonoscopy comment?
Oh my.
That's too rich.
That's too rich.
Okay, we got the whole Jimmy Hoffa comment.
It's 58 seconds, and it doesn't change anything when you hear what we edited out.
