Welcome to today's edition of The Rush 24 7 Podcast.
Hey, Sterdley is a story right up your alley.
And it's from yesterday, but it's still right up your alley.
And it is the headline 3,000 pair of panties found along an Ohio Highway.
3,000 pair of panties found along Ohio Highway.
They investigated.
And they found out that it was an Ohio planned parenthood event where Bill Clinton was the keynote speaker but failed to show up live from the Southern Command in sunny South Florida.
It's open line.
And so the women threw the panties out on the street in protest.
They had them off anyway, getting ready for Clinton.
Greetings, my friends, and welcome to another Sterling edition of Open Line Friday, when anything can happen, and usually does.
We haven't had a bomb of an open line Friday in a month or two, but it's always possible.
Look at this Open Line Friday as the real American Idol, the longest running talent show in American media.
Because when we go to the phones, the content of the program is up to you.
Total lovable rank amateurs.
I, your highly trained broadcast specialists, get out of the way on Friday.
Whatever you want to talk about's okay with me.
Not the case on uh Monday through Thursday, but it is on Friday.
Not kidding, it's a real story.
3,000 pair of panties found along an Ohio Highway, Deputy Sheriff Gary Hummel.
Of course I'm gonna get to the jobs business.
It's a three-hour show.
What?
There weren't any jobs.
What is there to say?
In fact, I'll tell you, I don't know how they're going to revise this number down.
They revise the number down every month, right?
How are they going to revise zero down?
Well, yeah, there'll have to be a net loss of jobs.
Now, actually, there was a guy hired in August.
And all of the networks had planned live interviews with the guy who got the job in August, but he got laid off on August 31st.
So there was no job created.
There was one guy who got a gig somewhere, I don't know, I don't know where, and I don't know what the job was, but the networks are all excited.
They're going to interview this guy as part of the Labor Day weekend, but he got laid off.
So it's no laughing matter, I know.
It uh it really isn't.
It's it's a disaster out there.
Yeah, we need a jobs program.
After almost three years of Obama jobs programs, you see the latest uh CNN uh ORC poll, supposedly more than eight in ten Americans, think the economy is in another recession.
Eighty percent.
When's the last time that 80% of Americans agreed on anything?
I X you.
And yet 80% of Americans agree that uh we are or think that we are in another recession.
You you compared that, for instance, to the so-called consensus on man-made global warming.
Now it's funny, uh, folks, as you well know.
When there is a Republican in the White House, if most people think that we're in a recession, we are.
That's all it takes.
In fact, we can be in a recession, even when most people don't think we're in a recession.
CNN is so eager to save Obama's bacon that they point out that uh even after the 80% of the American people think we're in a recession, but they're wrong, CNN says.
Now, if if it were Bush, and if 80% thought we were in a recession, they'd be right.
But in this story, 80% of the people in their poll say that they think they're in a recession CNN then goes on to correct them.
And to explain that officially recession's two consecutive quarters of negative growth.
Never mind that uh that they and the rest of the media have been saying for years that the recession started back in December 2007, even though there had not been two straight quarters of negative GDP at that point.
But all of this talk about slipping back into uh recession, and even the jobs number zero.
I'll tell you it's geared to next week's big speech.
One thing smoothing the way for Obama to ask for another round of stimulus spending next week.
And you just get prepared for it, folks, and it's it's gonna be outrageously big.
So much so the Republicans can never support it, and then that'll set up Obama running against Republican obstructionism, even though the Republicans have only been in power here for seven months, the last seven months of the little over two and a half years of the Obama regime.
So Obama's gonna give this speech.
A little Democrats are worried about this too.
Uh we got a soundbite here from Frank Rich.
Let me find it.
I wasn't gonna go with this, but I'm gonna find it here now that I mentioned it.
Let's see.
It's near the back.
14.
Yeah, grab somebody at 14.
Frank Rich, who used to be at the New York Times, he left the New York Times.
He went over to New York magazine now.
He was on CNN's Piers Morgan tonight, and they were discussing Obama and the economy.
In fact, we'll just play these things.
We'll do 14, 15, and 16 here, right smack dab in a row.
Piers Morgan says of Frank Rich, we can't start with anything else apart from this complete farce over Obama's speech about how oh, oh, folks, and guess what?
Guess what?
You remember back in um I guess it was January or February, shortly after the one had been immaculated, and they had that joint leadership meeting in the White House, and Obama told Boehner, you can't listen to Rush Limbaugh.
That's not how things get done.
The White House, politico's got it.
Politico has it today.
The White House blaming me for Boehner's decision to say no to Obama's joint session speech next Wednesday.
The White House summoned some anonymous force in their voice in the White House telling the people of politico the steno pool, it's a rush limbaugh thing.
Yep.
Limbaugh goes on, chides Boehner, and then Boehner says nope, and tells the president can't do the speech on the seventh.
And we've got supporting audio sound bites.
So I'm now back to being the titular head of the Republican Party after having been an entertainer for a couple days.
Yeah.
Yeah, it is.
Even, you know, twice a week they do get it right.
The truth.
Anyway.
Here's Morgan talking to Frank Rich.
We can't start with anything else apart from this complete farce over Obama's speech about how to get America back to work, which has descended into anarchy, it seems, from where I'm watching.
What is your view, Mr. Rich?
It's uh amateur night.
It's embarrassing and looks uh amateurish.
That speech really better be dynamite.
Because if after all this build-up and uh nonsense and farce, if he, you know, delivers a mouse, particularly for when you think of all the Americans who are suffering from unemployment, he's got a bigger problem than he started with.
If he delivers a mouse, say here's one of his big supporters, Frank Rich.
This is sort of like I would compare this to you.
Being a fan, your team makes a Super Bowl, and it's the night before the game, then the morning of the game, you can all worry your team's gonna blow it.
Frank Rich is wondering what can he do?
You know, the the days of the speech in Grant Park are over on election.
In fact, there's a piece I have it here in the stack of stuff, television review guy for the Baltimore Sun has a piece today on just how different Obama is, how phony.
He went back, he looked at Grant Park speech, and then compared that to recent Obama appearances.
How do we all get fooled here?
There's nothing there.
He said that this is Obama comes on TV, you don't even want to watch anymore.
He's not even inspiring.
Here's Frank Rich.
That speech better be dynamite.
What the hell can it be?
To use uh language they understand a Rio Lindo, Bama shot his wad here, folks.
I mean, he's done every every speech possible to make, he's made on every subject.
What can he do?
He's already offered stimulus, spending after spending it.
What can he do here?
He is not going to do one thing that will actually create any jobs because he doesn't believe in the private sector.
And I think these Democrats like Frank Rich, they understand it.
They understand that it's a farce nonsense.
This speech better be dynamite.
And no, even if it is, it's coming within the hour and a half prior to the kickoff of the NFL season.
That's what's going to be on most people's minds.
Sports is an escape from everybody's daily humdrum.
And to have the president assert himself in the middle of that, even though it's not going to encroach on the actual game, with more of the same blame Bush.
They're going to be that we know from Gene Sperling, he's going to blame Bush.
He inherited a mess worse than we even thought.
So everybody's worried now that he's he's got to hit a grand slam home run.
So Piers Morgan, after Rich says he's got a bigger problem than he started with if he if he if he if he doesn't give a great speech.
Listen to the here's Piers Morgan now responding.
People don't really know who Barack Obama is.
What does he actually at his essence stand for?
He came in on hope, audacity, change, which are all fairly tenuous, vacuous even ways of describing what your campaign's gonna be.
Eventually you've got to have a policy which grips the country, which can be identifiable with your presidency.
Has he got it in him, do you think?
I think he has it in him.
I think the campaign is proof of that, but this has been a very scattered administration, shockingly so.
He's capable of it.
I don't know what the problem has been.
Oh, come on.
Here's Piers Morgan.
Does anybody know this guy?
People don't really know who Obama is.
We're into almost three years of this, and you guys, you guys are the one that painted the picture of this guy for everybody in the country.
Unknown before.
Never before a personality like this.
American politics has never featured someone this brilliant, somebody who can lower the levels of the seas.
And now, after a debacle of a failed presidency, all these people who told us how brilliant and wonderful.
Once in a lifetime Obama was not who is this guy?
Frank Rich, well, I know he's got it in him.
You go back and look at the campaign.
The campaign was what?
Totally devoid of any substance.
That campaign was a blank canvas, and Obama, you could paint on that canvas whatever you wanted Obama to be, and that's what he was.
So now we can add Piers Morgan to the list of libs who have no clue who Obama is.
Let's go back.
Let's review October 30th.
This is just a couple of days before the election in 2008.
The Charlie Rose show.
He's interviewing at the time to meet the press moderator, Tom Brokoff.
I don't know what Barack Obama's worldview is.
No, I don't know.
I don't know how he really sees where China is.
We don't know a lot about Barack Obama and the universe of his thinking about foreign policy.
I don't really know.
And do we know anything about the people who are advising them?
You know, it's an interesting question.
He is principally known through his autobiography and through very aspirational speeches.
I don't know what books he's read.
What do we know about the heroes of Barack Obama?
There's a lot about him we don't know.
Well, we know Bill Ayers, we know Jeremiah Wright, we know Bernardine Dorn.
We don't know.
And you know, it is interesting.
Not one law student of Obama's.
He taught law at Chicago, University of Chicago.
Not one student's come forward and said, Yeah, this guy really inspired me.
Nobody at Law Review at Harvard has ever come forth and said, Yeah, yeah, I knew Obama.
Oh, this guy was brilliant.
And there was some uh some feminist website I was reading not long ago.
He said, where are all the old girlfriends of Obama?
guy runs for president, all the old girlfriends pop up.
Nobody's popped up.
So here we have Charlie Rose, Tom Broco, now Piers Morgan, all accredited members of the drive-by media, now nearly three years into this saying, who is this guy?
We don't know who he is.
These are the people who told us who he was during the campaign and are longing for that persona to surface.
I think the only thing that Obama could do, speaking not of Frank Rich, Frank, the only thing Obama could do that would be convincing at big speech next week is to resign.com, while the overall U.S. employment situation is dismal.
Today's jobs report shows the crisis is much worse for minorities.
The unemployment rate for black Americans shot up to a shocking, it says here, shocking, 16.7% in August, up from 15.9% the previous months.
Now the highest it has been during the uh during the Obama regime, up from the previous record of 16.5% in March and April of 2010.
By the way, this is the first time since 1945 that a jobs rate has been zero.
The first time since 1945.
Now, oh buddy, we like this guy a lot here at the EIB network, James Petacukis.
He uh he dabbles at Reuters.
Somehow he's snuck in there and he does uh blog posts and writes columns.
And he's uh well, he's not a lib.
Let's put it that way.
And so we didn't create a single job, and the unemployment rate dropped nevertheless, right?
Went from 9.2 to 9.1, or was it 9.2 or 9.1 last month?
What was it?
So it's 9.1 to 9.1.
Pet the Kukas points out that the unemployment rate, if the labor force was as big as it was when Obama took office, would be 11.4%.
The way they get this down to 9.1% is simply reduced the number of universe jobs in the universe.
Just arbitrarily.

We called five people.
We got three answering machines.
We ended up talking to two people.
One woman was driving, and she picked up the phone, said hello, and uh I said, Hi, blah, blah.
This is uh Rush Limbaugh, my wife Catherine here, and we wanted to let you, and we hear a screech.
And there's some noise on the other end of the line, and she says, I almost drove off the road.
She gathered herself, gathered her composure, and we continue to tell her what she had wanted.
She was all excited, and we talked to her for a little while and gave her some of the details and made another call, got a couple answering machines, and the last guy that we called actually picked up the phone.
He's in Tennessee, and he was eating dinner with his family.
He made it a point to tell us that.
And call us and say, hi, uh Rush Limboy and my wife Catherine here.
We're calling to tell you that you have just won a year's supply of two of Well, I'm just sitting here eating dinner.
And we looked at the clock, and it was 7 o'clock, our time soon.
It might have been 7 o'clock Eastern where he was.
So we asked him what he was having, he told us.
And then he started telling me what he disagreed with me about, uh, as well as what he agreed with me about.
Uh he took full occasion to tell me what for.
It was a lot of fun.
We're going to be 10 winners here.

2ifyT.com, order by 11.59 p.m. tonight or call 8662.
1776.
Now, to make the point that I was making here prior to the break of the bottom of the hour.
If the labor force was as big today as it was when Obama was immaculated, the unemployment rate would be 11.4% today.
11.4% as opposed to 9.1, if the labor force were as big.
Now, naturally, uh, with unemployment being what it is, the labor force is going to be uh smaller.
However, uh the the truth here is that the administration has just arbitrarily reduced the size of the job universe.
They have just said, well, you know, there are fewer jobs to be had out there for whatever reason.
I don't for I don't care how you analyze it or to look at it, this is unacceptable to have the labor force shrink this much after being promised an unemployment rate of 8% after being promised 500,000 jobs a month, Joe Bite me promised after all these programs.
To me, this is unacceptable.
It's it's it's it's frustrating.
Um I I saw this unemployment number of zero today, and I started feeling a repeat of the anger that I felt last month when the number came out.
Uh this is the United States of America, and we now know we've got somebody running this country who believes that its greatness is illegitimate.
And we got to pay the price for it.
In truth, we have an effective unemployment rate in this country, 20%.
Black unemployment, 16.9%.
The 9.1% number is government disinformation.
And to the people who've been out of work for a year or longer, this is not a recession.
This is a depression.
I don't care how the government defines it.
That's what this is.
When one out of every five adults is struggling to survive in the greatest nation on the face of the earth, this is a disgrace.
When we that we can't produce a single job in the month of August.
A GDP of 1%, the ChICOMs are growing at 9.5%, the Cubans are outgrowing us.
This is unacceptable.
It's the greatest nation on the face of the earth.
This is a disgrace.
And it is a disgrace because none of this is necessary.
None of it.
Obama, the liberals like to talk about hostages.
Let me tell you something.
This nation is being held hostage by a small band of ideological radicals who have contempt for the American people and our economic system.
Every single policy that pops out of this president's mouth is...
Every single policy that pops out of his mind involves the federal government, federal control, federal spending, federal subsidies, federal this, and federal debt.
Well, we are a nation of individuals.
We are a nation of entrepreneurs.
We are a nation of wealth creators.
We are a nation of hard workers.
We are not a nation built on dependence, subsidies, bureaucracy, and government.
We are not a nation built on diversity.
That is not what has made us great.
The war on poverty, the war on this, the great society, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security is not what has made us great.
The president of the United States, our leader, is creating economic chaos and instability in this country.
He is creating it, and he has unleashed all of his federal departments and agencies against the middle class, although.
White House shelves smog rule in huge defeat for green groups.
The White House announced today it's shelving a major planned EPA regulation that would have tightened smog standards, dealing a huge blow to environmentalist wackos that had pushed the regime to resist industry pressure to abandon the regulation.
The regulation would have ended up costing the country close to a trillion dollars.
And they've shelved it.
And you watch the radicals on the left are now going to get all bent out of shape, and they're going to start calling him a weak president.
They already are bucking to me, bucking to Boehner, and now bucking the pressure from the Republicans on his EPA regulation.
But despite all that, he continues unabated.
Unleashing federal departments, agencies against the middle class, against small businesses, businesses of all sizes.
He takes money from some people and some industries, redistributes, redistributes that money to those who do not create, who do not work and have not earned it, because he believes they are the ones who have been screwed.
We're not talking about a safety net here.
It used to be that you were talking about a hammock, but we're not even talking about a hammock anymore.
A safety net does not cost $4 trillion.
dollars.
A hammock does not cost four trillion dollars.
We are talking about a president who's using his power, abusing his power, frankly, in the most destructive ways imaginable.
Open line Friday.
Rush Limbaugh, America's real anchor man, the truth detector and the doctor of democracy.
Having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have.
Ladies and gentlemen, the only thing standing in the way of economic recovery, economic opportunity, job growth, wealth creation.
The only thing standing in the way is Barack Obama himself.
And more and more Americans now see this.
More and more Americans now realize this.
He can talk all he wants about balance.
Where's the balance in anything he's done?
He can talk all he wants about people hating Washington.
Well, who is it that's expanding the powers in Washington and turning those powers against the people?
He is perfectly logical, makes perfect sense.
And people are angry at Washington.
Washington, Obama, is standing in everybody's way.
He can talk about Republicans blocking his wonderful new plans for creating jobs.
Which is what his entire campaign is going to be based on, by the way, Republicans standing in his way for three years.
Except they've only been in power for seven months.
A question.
Is Barack Obama himself not the greatest destroyer of private sector jobs in modern American history?
It's a rhetorical question.
Barack Obama single-handedly is the greatest destroyer of private sector jobs in modern American history.
This man has an ideology and a record that is the antithesis of what has made this nation great.
Barack Obama is who is turning this nation into a second rate nation.
A nation where we can't send a shuttle to the International Space Station because he has grounded them.
We cannot fight a two-front war against two major powers because Obama's slashing national security budgets.
but more outrageous than even those two.
We're a nation that cannot even be self-sufficient in our energy needs because he is blocking exploration and pipelines and drillings.
Thank you.
Right here at home.
He is opposing new methods for extracting oil from shale.
Barack Obama is a one man wrecking crew and obstacle.
He has he has taken the greatest health care system on the face of the earth.
He has nationalized it and he is slowly killing it.
And how many jobs could be created by simply shelving Obamacare?
How many jobs?
How much business rebounding would there be if he just shelved it?
No, he won't, and just illustrating here.
He's taken the strongest currency, the U.S. dollar was the basis for the world's currencies.
He's destroyed that.
We have 20% unemployment in this country.
The housing market is as bad as it was since the Great Depression.
We have a massive and growing deficit like the world has never seen.
And federal government that is imposing its power on every aspect of our lives, and Obama complains that he needs more power and more of our money and more time to make things right.
He says that, but for the House Republicans who've been in control for what now?
Eight months, I guess, the country would be doing just fine.
Obama thinks he is such a gifted propagandist, such a gifted demagogue, that you're going to be persuaded by his antics and games and speeches rather than seeing and feeling and living what is going on all around you.
Really thinks that a joint session speech is going to remind you and make you think of mourning in America again.
He really believes he still has this power.
It's time to call this man out.
It is time to insist that he be held to account politically for the great harm that he has done and is doing to this country.
The great hardship that he has unleashed and imposed on so many families in this country.
His arrogance, his aloofness are to be condemned.
His incompetence is to be condemned.
His dismantling of this country, his authoritarianism.
His delusion must be condemned, and we will be back.
Okay, we have to take a brief time out here to the top of the hour just to um your local affiliates time to do the local news, whatever else they do.
We will be prepping for the commencement of the second hour of Open Line Friday, where your phone calls will figure prominently.
Export Selection
