Time Text
Okay, hey, folks, and welcome back.
It's Rush Limbaugh, the EIB network, the Limbaugh Institute.
For advanced conservative studies every day, we have more fun than human beings should be allowed to have.
Our telephone number, if you want to be on the program, and we are going to take phone calls in this hour is 800-282-2882 in the email address, El Rushbow at EIBNet.com.
You know, the moveon.org crowd, they are buying memberships at Rushlimbaugh.com just to send me scathing emails.
I just read one snerdily, you're called a houseboy.
They called you my houseboy.
Uh no, you haven't called any yet, HR, because I haven't.
Oh, I know, but it's it's it's funny.
They're just like one.
Do you realize it's Wednesday?
Every word that you said today is an exact repeat of your show yesterday.
Wake up.
Oh, they're all over the place.
Folks, we're getting to them.
We're getting under their skin.
I love it.
It's one of the most fun things of the busy broadcast today to check the email.
One of the things that they're ripping me for now is is my analysis of our old buddy Jake Tapper at ABC.
He goes to the White House.
He finds somebody willing to speak anonymously, on the record anonymously, to answer his question, hey, who do you guys you know, Obama?
Who are you really worried about 2012?
What Republicans really have you scared?
And this guy said to Jake Tapper, oh, well, really don't tell anybody here, but uh people were really, really worried about Mitch Daniels and John Husman.
So Jake runs with the story.
And of course, I try to tell everybody that the last name they're gonna give you is who they really fear in this circumstance.
And so the emails, how do you know?
You don't know what you're talking about.
How come you always assume they're lying?
Nobody answers that question honestly.
I don't care.
Let's let's look at football.
Let's look at the national football.
Look at college football.
In the case of determining who goes to the Super Bowl, the the two championship games are played on the same day.
The early game.
One of the two conference winners is determined and they're gonna go to the Super Bowl.
So whoever wins the early game knows they're in, but the late game still determine their opponent.
So they after the game, the first game.
So who do you hope wins?
Who do you hope your opponent?
They never say.
It's bulletin board, a bulletin board material.
They never, I don't care who it is.
We're just happy to be there.
Doesn't matter who we play.
We're gonna kick buttons no matter who it is.
They never tell you that it's it's it's it's not classy.
You don't do it.
You never want to let anybody know you're afraid of somebody.
You really expect the White House to be honest answering the question, you know, it really worries us.
Do you think this bunch is gonna say, yeah, the people we really are afraid of and name anybody that they're genuinely afraid of, they're not gonna do it.
So this is all BS.
I'm surprised after 23, it'll be 23 years on August 1st.
Uh don't doubt me.
You know, Obama's out there uh mocking his enemies, not his opponents.
Mocking his enemies in El Paso for wanting more border security.
That is the argument, one of the many when it comes to discussing immigration reform in the country.
And yeah, I'm one of his enemies because I want border security first.
They'll deal with the rest of it after that.
But you gotta get that done.
That has to happen.
So he's out there mocking that.
But note when he did it.
Exactly one day after a shootout on Falcon Lake on the Texas Mexican border, killed at least 15 people.
The day after that, there's Obama making fun of people who want border security.
That's who he is.
And that's what they say makes a great comedian, folks.
Timing.
And what he did yesterday was laughable.
It's laughable.
Let's go to the audio sound plate.
Here it is.
Obama, classless arrogance.
In his amnesty speech in El Paso, Texas.
They wanted more agents at the border.
Well, we now have more boots on the ground on the Southwest border than at any time in our history.
The Border Patrol has 20,000 agents.
More than twice as many as there were in 2004.
There's a buildup that began under President Bush and that we've continued.
Then they wanted a fence.
Well, the fence is now basically complete.
Well, then why are you there?
If there's no problem, why are you down there making a speech?
If there's no more any immigration problem, what are you there for?
Let's move on to the next soundbite.
Here he continues now to mock his enemies.
All the stuff they asked for, we've done.
But even though we've answered these concerns, I've got to say I suspect there's still gonna be some who are trying to move the goalposts on us.
One more time.
They said we needed to triple the border patrol.
Or now they're gonna say we need to quadruple the border patrol.
Or they'll want a higher fence.
Maybe they'll need a moat.
Maybe they want alligators in the moat.
They'll never be satisfied.
There's your president.
That's Barack Obama, alligators in the moat, mocking, making fun of.
This, I mean, I think this is the fence is not even 5% complete.
He's out there telling people the fence is done.
Basically, the problem's been solved.
If so, why is he there?
At this point in time, ladies and gentlemen, we'd like to bring in the official Obama criticizer Bo Snerdily for analysis and commentary on the president's remarks yesterday.
Mr. Snerdley.
This is Bo Snurley, the official EIB Obama criticizer, certified black enough to criticize 100% American slave blood, and a legitimate birth certificate on file in New York State.
I have a statement.
Mr. President, El Paso, campaigning with a Hispanic audience.
You claim the border is safe now, thanks to you.
But no matter what you do, Republicans will never ever be satisfied.
You uh said Republicans don't want to they don't want Hispanics to come to America, but they look different.
You even said they want to moat with alligators to keep the Hispanics out.
If the borders are so safe, why are you even talking about reforming immigration?
The problem is solved.
Except for those here illegally, and if that's the real issue, why not just say so?
If we're all so safe, why are your TSA agents patting down toddlers at our nation's airport, taking pictures of us naked before we can travel?
And finally, if the border is so safe, why don't you encourage?
Why don't you pack up your family, spend your next vacation at a border town in Texas, or better yet, Arizona?
Shame on you, Mr. President.
Race baiting so early in the campaign season?
And now a translation for the EIB brothers and sisters in the hood.
Yeah, what up, my homies?
Check it out, yo.
El Paso.
Obama blazed up in there like a total OG main, took a kid in Republicans like Team Six, took it to Osama, up all in their grilled dog, double-tacked him, told him the border's sprayed up under control, yo.
We pubbies ain't gonna chill till they get a moat with some gators to keep those Mexis out.
Which, you know, all right, all right, I feel that.
But but you know, there's some about this that just ain't right.
You know, if you get your low rider, you rolled down south over that boulder, yo, all of a sudden you be in gravel land, man.
They got more bodies rolling up in that joint every day without heads, man, hundreds, no, thousands of them with Mexican flags on top of the graveyards, man.
They got people showing up dead all over the joint.
Yo, bomb, man.
Let me ask you this, man.
You gonna send your booty less home girl Michelle and your two shorties down there to party for a weekend on the border, yo?
I don't think so.
Plus, check this out, man.
You hit up the airports, man.
TSA is hitting you up harder than 5-0, man.
They grabbing three-year-olds, filling them up like they own some kind of booty call or something, man.
What's up with that, yo?
Okay, here's the deal of Migos.
Obama playing games with y'all, okay?
He could have had this immigration dealy when Democrats had DC up on lockdown.
He's just setting up Republicans, making them out to be racist, to trip y'all up, get y'all his Spanish all tricked out before the election and jack you, you know.
It's like the audacity of joke.
Okay.
Obama is playing y'all.
But yo, I got one other thing before my Obama, big pres, man.
Gas is still high, man.
And speaking of the borders, over here in the borders of the hood, mean, we still ain't got no jobs.
I when you gonna come to these borders and check that out.
I'm out of here.
Peace.
Here you have it, the official Obama criticizer bow snerdly.
Your phone calls her next here on the EIB network, right after this.
The Associated Press, ladies and gentlemen, surprisingly critical of Obama and his immigration speech or his uh his rally yesterday in uh in El Paso.
Uh but look at you really what all this is about.
Uh I don't, you know, Obama doesn't care about expanding the border fence or the border patrol.
He doesn't want he wants to expand the welfare state.
That's what amnesty, illegal immigration is all about.
Expanding the welfare state, getting more Democrat voters.
That's what this is about.
That's why he's down there ram rotting Republicans.
But even the associated press was surprisingly critical.
They point out in their story about this that Obama did nothing about immigration reform when he had majorities in both houses.
You know, in uh uh the first two years.
The Democrats ran the show and he didn't do anything about it.
He kicked it down the road for precisely this moment.
He wanted it as a campaign issue going into 2012 because they know that they've lost a lot of independence.
They hope to make it up.
The uh the loss of the independence with Hispanic voters.
But what is he doing?
He's calling out the illegal aliens and his union goons to take to the streets to ram through amnesty.
That's what that rally was all about yesterday.
He is ginning up public protest.
And he's out there lying through his teeth, claiming he's given the Republicans even more than what they have requested.
That is an out and out lie.
Why would he do that anyway?
He does not want a big fence.
He does not want more border agents that actually make a difference.
He wants a bigger welfare state.
Now the Republicans do want more National Guard soldiers on the border.
They want a real physical fence.
We do.
We want to enforce current immigration laws at the state level, since the federal government refuses to.
We want an end to immigration officers being instructed not to arrest and detain illegal aliens, but to merely turn them away.
And Obama is fighting them every inch of the way.
Now he claims he wants a serious discussion on immigration reform.
And then he mocks and vilifies his Republican enemies in the next breath.
Now, this is this is so it is colossal arrogance.
And the Associated Press recognizes it.
It's hypocrisy as well.
And the AP notices it.
They call him on it in this piece.
Now, earlier in this half hour, during commercial break, I happened to be watching PMS NBC.
The uh the hapless info babe over there at the time happened to be Contessa Brewer.
And she was trying to convince MSNBC viewers that the Dream Act can be renewed and voted on in Congress before the 2012 elections.
That's not true.
It the DREAM Act is not going to be voted on before the 2012 elections.
There's this thing called Republican control of the House of Representatives.
It isn't going to happen.
So what is this on MSNBC other than a shameless lie to try to get the illegal alien vote behind Obama and the Democrats now by dangling a carrot in front of them that is not going to happen?
So the regime puts out a lie, a press press release or phone call from somebody in the Oval Office, somebody at the in the West Wing.
Call all these media, hey, you know, Dream Act still could get it done.
You run with it.
You have uh free Randy Russell.
So a hapless contesta reads a teleprompter.
Hey, guess what?
The Democrats say there's still a chance of getting a Dream Act done by November.
And what this is supposed to excite uh the illegal aliens out there and coalesce that vote behind Obama and the Democrats.
That can be the only explanation for this kind of quote unquote news reporting.
To the phones, as I promised.
Who's up?
Edwardsburg, Michigan.
Brett, you're first today.
Nice to have you on the EIB network.
Hello.
Hi, Russ.
It's an honor to speak with you.
Mega Upton Country Dittoes.
Thank you, sir.
The media has a love affair with Obama, as you well know.
And after killing Osama, I'm I'm wondering, you know, the only reason he won in 2008 is because the media was in his corner.
And uh I'm wondering that with this supposedly skyrocketing approval numbers, are Americans going to be fooled again into thinking that he's unbeatable.
I mean, I know he's unbeatable because I'm a ditto head, but I mean, would your average American be fooled into thinking that he's unbeatable again?
Well, I think they're gonna have a tough time with this.
There are certain things that you can spin for the average American, but you can't spin what milk and eggs or beer and cereal cost them if they're in real linda.
And you can't spin what uh what gasoline costs them.
And you can't spin how their homes have lost their value.
You you you there there's certain things that people are living.
Here's the one thing, this is what the regime is going to do.
I know exactly how they're going to do this.
They're going to position Obama as still in the fix mode, trying to fix this horrible mess he inherited.
Their main push will be to say that all the economic circumstances that exist today are the result of so many years of Reagan and Bush.
And that he was so he was he was wrong about how fast he could turn it around.
It should take a lot longer than he thought.
So it depends.
The answer to your question depends on how successfully they can portray Obama as still an innocent bystander with no role in any of this.
Now that's where the Republicans come into play.
And whether or not they're gonna have the guts to have a message that ties all of this to Obama.
They're gonna have to do that.
And when I say guts, they haven't had any up till now.
They haven't wanted to be critical of Obama because they haven't wanted to be called racist, which still happens.
Uh they they don't want to be attacked as being somehow opposed to the historic nature of Obama's presidency, being the first black president and all that.
But the Republicans are gonna have to be aggressive and they're gonna have to, they're gonna have to with with real guts.
They're gonna have to tie Obama to this.
Because the living circumstances for the American people are very real.
They can't be spun.
What can be spun is who's responsible for it.
And the regime is counting on the fact that there's still only 30% of the country loves George W. Bush.
60, 70% still hate his guts, and could be made to believe that all of this is his fault.
And that poor old Obama, gosh, he's really trying is doing everything he can.
Look at all the hard work, and now they're starting to show some signs of progress.
And do we want to change horses in the middle of the stream?
That's gonna be the campaign.
Mark my words.
So it all depends at that point.
What do the Republicans do?
And who their nominee is, and how the nominee wants to deal with that.
And I'll just tell you if if the nominee, if the Republican Party accepts that premise, then we could be toast.
Because accepting that premise would take off the table the thing that they really want to argue, which is Obama's policies are bad for America.
That's what they want.
They don't they don't want to say Obama's bad for America.
They don't want to go there.
I know they don't have the guts for that.
But I've talked to enough of them, and they do say we got to focus on his policies.
Well, focusing on his policies is going to be focusing on him.
His policies are who he is.
So we wait here with bated breath to find out what the Republicans do.
But I guarantee you I know what their campaign's gonna be.
I just laid it out for you.
And we know what the Republicans have to do to counter it.
Uh, Howard in New York City, great to have you, sir, on the EIB network.
Hello.
He's gone.
Well, then who's next?
Uh Indiana.
I wonder what this is about.
Uh Dwayne in Huntington, Indiana.
Welcome to the EIB network.
Hi there, Rush.
Thank you for taking my call.
You better address this uh Mitch Daniel thing.
Uh I've been a sixty year fighter for conservatism and Republican.
This guy is just another McCain.
And I feel like I've been transported back to 08, Rush.
And we've got the media, the templates the same, the media, the Rhino friends, their uh writer friends trying to create the stampede that these this particular person or these two people must be chosen from, or we're toast.
They want to create our nominee just like they did back then, and the people got to watch out for this.
Now, I won't I wouldn't vote for him.
He he'd be another McCain.
He would be compromiser, reaching across the aisle.
He would not attack for fear of being called a racist, and I'm sick and tired of that.
I'm tired of being backhanded across the mouth for being critical of this guy and being called a racist.
All right, fine.
Let me a quick question.
30 seconds.
The people you talk about who want to give us another McCain, they saw that McCain lost.
Why would they want to repeat that?
Well, they want they want to force us to choose these people, one of these people, as being uh unbeatable and a parallel thing.
He wants to set aside morality issues, which are an integral part of a conservatism.
And of course, Gingrich doesn't dare mention them.
Uh the thing is Oh, yeah, Noodle mentioned them.
Newt's uh not gonna run it.
He's got an answer for it already.
Newt's not gonna run it.
He was working so hard for the country that he strayed.
That's he's he's had the that's his official answer.
Now let me review it uh one more time.
What the Obama campaign is gonna be.
It's all becoming very clear now.
It's taking a lot longer than we thought.
That will be if they if there was a bumper sticker, that will codify.
Not the exact word I want here.
Again, folks, up very late last night, uh, consuming adult beverages.
But if there's a bumper sticker that that could sum up the campaign, it's taking a lot longer than we thought.
The mess was even worse than we knew.
In fact, I predicted this before Obama was even immaculated.
That they would use that as a means for passing really draconian legislation like the stimulus bill, the porculus.
Oh my god, they didn't tell us how bad it was.
But folks, it this is this this is economy.
This is horrible.
I we we had no idea it's this bad.
They're gonna revive that.
It's not even we realized till we got here rolled our sleeves of just how bad this was.
And it's taking a lot longer, but we're starting to see signs of.
They'll lie about it.
Starting to see signs.
Then they'll say, see, 244,000 jobs are created last month.
We're we're going in the right direction.
Do we really want to change horses in the middle stream?
Do we that's that really is going to be the campaign.
Do you really want to turn it back to the people who ran the car in the ditch in the front?
That's what this campaign is going to be.
And then, of course, whoever our nominee is, they'll tailor a message to that person as well.
And that'll end up being a double whammy.
At that point, it then depends on the Republicans and how they choose to engage on this.
Because I'm here to tell you right now, Obama is is land slidable beatable if we have somebody with the guts to tie him to everything that's happened since 2007.
That's when the Democrats took over.
That's when the Democrats won the House, and that's when all this began.
That's when the unemployment started trending up.
And in November, after the election of Obama, it really you go back and take a look at the charts.
It spikes upward like crazy.
Small business people knew what was coming.
Started letting people go then, even before Obama had been immaculated.
Quite simply, the Republicans are going to have to tie.
Everything in this country's economy, all of the destruction, all of the economic malaise to Barack Obama and his policies.
Which to me tease us up better than we've been teed up, and I don't know how this is the problem I have with the Rhinos in our party, the problem I have with our moderates.
What an opportunity this is.
The greatest opportunity we've ever had to contrast who we are.
What has Obama done that has been productive for this nation?
What's he done?
He is eviscerating NASA.
Story in the stack today, by the way, he is going to renew his outreach to Muslims after double tapping Osama.
He has hampered the military.
He has hampered our intelligence service, despite what he says.
He's done nothing that can help grow jobs or strengthen home ownership.
Everything he's done is weakened both areas.
His policies have mattered and they have been destructive.
He's done nothing to increase oil drilling.
Honestly, what has he done?
Even if we want to accept the premise, even if we want to accept the premise that it was worse than they thought when they got there.
Even so, what have they done to reverse it?
What have they done that is productive?
What have they done that is positive?
And the answer is nothing.
He has not built a fence on the border.
He hasn't built anything.
All this money spent, all these deficits, what has he accomplished?
What he's accomplished is saving the jobs of unionized Democrat voters.
What he's accomplished has been with a stimulus bill and all these other bailouts is to save the jobs of public sector union people so that they continue to be paid so that their dues continue to flow to the Democrat Party.
That's what he has saved.
And now MSNBC is out there lying to people, saying the Democrats are telling them that it's possible.
Dream Act could be signed into law by November.
So we just had the call from Indianapolis.
I don't want Daniels, it's just another McCain.
We lost Bigwood McCain.
I asked him, well, okay, why would these people, why would these rhinos and so forth, why would they nominate another loser?
If they know that McCain lost, why would they go the route again?
I'll give you the answer.
And I've mentioned this a number of occasions.
It's hard for you to believe.
You don't want to believe it.
But the Republican establishment has people in it who dislike conservatives as much as the Democrat liberal establishment like dislikes us.
The Washington establishment's a big click.
Actually, you know, it's a very small click.
And that's what makes it exclusive.
That's why so many people want to be part of it, including people on our side.
I mean, it is maybe the ultimate club to be an accredited accepted member.
And there are certain things that you have to be and do in order to be accepted into that click.
And one of the things that you have to have, there can be no doubt about you, is you must be believable when you disparage conservatives.
We are the big enemy.
I don't care if it's the Democrat establishment you're talking about or the Republican establishment.
Mainstream conservatives are the enemy.
They dislike us almost as much as the left does.
Now look again at the attacks on Sarah Palin, from so-called Republicans, from rhinos, from the establishment, for that matter, their attacks on any unvarnished conservative candidate.
They announce, what do they say about Pelish?
Unelectable.
Unelectable.
They'll say it about any number of conservative unelectable.
That's the key word, unelectable.
And then they cite each other.
Columnist A will cite columnist B, who will cite blogger D, who will integrate with blogger Z. And you've got a giant circle, you know what going on.
With all the smartest people in the room writing for each other, to each other, using each other's phrases, impressing each other, that their minds are unique and alike.
Oh, they'll occasionally have arguments over who cited something first, or who came up with some point of view first or what have you, but for the most part, you you've read these blogs, you know what I'm talking about.
The irreplaceable blogger name.
Yesterday in a post that nobody saw by the irretrievable, unmistakable, uh, couldn't do without name the blogger.
And they write about each other this way.
And they all get themselves worked up into a lather about the same things.
And the Rhinos have as their first mission to defeat conservatives in the Republican Party.
Ronald Reagan knew it.
Nothing's really changed.
Which is why those people were out there saying the era of Reagan is over.
But have you ever heard them say the era of Gerald Ford is over?
Have you?
You haven't.
You've never heard him say the era of Gerald Ford.
The era of Bob Dole is over.
In fact, you will not hear them say the era of John McCain is over.
So that's the answer to the to the question.
And that's what we're up against.
And it matters because how we deal with what we all know the Obama campaign is going to be will be crucial in defeating Obama.
For example, here at Commentary Magazine, this is a story from a couple of days, what's actually from yesterday.
And I think it's a blog post of it's Alana Goodman.
And here is as Jonathan wrote a little earlier today, is how it starts.
This apparently there's another blogger over there named Jonathan, who apparently wrote something that's right on the money.
So Blogger A cites Blogger B and says Obama continues to profess immigration reform, but many Hispanic leaders are growing frustrated at his lack of action, and more notably his lack of a viable plan for action.
They are also understandably wary that he is only now turned his attention to immigration reform now that the 2012 campaign season is starting, and now the congressional legislation on the issue seems highly unlikely.
The question is whether Obama's belated push on immigration will solve the president's problems with the Hispanic community.
All this happens to have element of truth in it.
There is a little disgust at Obama in the Hispanic community.
Why didn't you do this when you had the Democrats in the House in charge of everything?
thing.
I know I can't expect you to remember everything, but during the fight for the stimulus and during the healthcare fight, the Hispanics were out there raising a little hell, saying, What about us?
Where's your big push for immigration?
And then the Michael Moore crowd was out there, whatever their pet issue was.
And they were especially ticked off because for a long time it looked like health care wasn't going to pass.
They look at that as a total waste of time in terms of their pet issue.
So now the Hispanic community is said to be a little peeved because Obama is coming forth at election time pushing for immigration reform.
They are interpreting that as he really doesn't mean it.
So here we get the story.
Frustrated with Obama, Hispanic voters might stay home in 2012.
Now, and you could couple that with Obama mocking his Republican enemies By saying they want to get a moat with alligators along the border.
That tells me that Obama does realize he got a problem.
And it does tell me that he thinks he's got to insult Hispanic voters, along with insulting Republicans in order to get them on his side.
Let me take a brief time out here, folks, as the time just keeps rolling by here faster than I can believe, but more straight ahead when we get back.
Don't go anywhere.
I'll tell you another thing, too, folks.
If uh well, we can't.
We cannot put alligators in any moat.
Trumpke will try to unionize them and collect union dues from them.
Well, it'll be on the job.
I mean, if Obama puts them there, the Gators will be there for a reason.
Great to have you back, Rush Limbaugh, half my brain tied behind my back just to make it fair.
Now, I have here a story that's simply unreal, and it's from last week.
And I purposely sat on this story to see if I would see it anywhere else.
I purposely said I've had it in the stack since May the 5th.
Almost a week.
It's from Biddness Week magazine.
Story by Clea Benson.
Headline, renewed crackdown on redlining.
In the wake of the subprime implosion, the Obama administration has stepped up its scrutiny of disadvantaged neighborhoods credit access.
Community activists in St. Louis became concerned a couple of years ago that local banks were not offering credit to the city's poor and African American residents.
So they formed a group called the St. Louis Equal Housing and Community Reinvestment Alliance.
And they began writing complaint letters to federal regulators.
Apparently, somebody in Washington took notice.
The Federal Reserve has cited one of the group's targets, Midwest Bank Center, a small bank that's been operating in St. Louis'predominantly white, middle-class suburbs for over a century.
They cited them for failing to issue home mortgages or open branches in disadvantaged areas.
Although executives at the bank say they don't discriminate, Midwest Bank center's latest annual report says it's in the process of negotiating a settlement with Eric Holder's U.S. Justice Department over its lending practices.
I translate this for you.
That's right.
They're bringing back subprimes.
Bringing back the subprime mortgage.
It's simply unreal.
And while we're all being distracted by other news, everybody but me, the regime and the Federal Reserve are again forcing banks to give mortgages to people who cannot afford them.
Which is exactly what got us into our current mess.
That's 90% of why we're where we are today.
And you note here that the government's now telling banks where they have to put their branches.
The Justice Department's telling this little bank company where they have to open branches, just like the National Labor Relations Board told Boeing you cannot open a plant in South Carolina.
And it's being ram rotted.
If I read the whole story to you, you'd hear this.
It's being ramrodded by the same guy, Thomas Perez, at the Justice Department, who opposed prosecuting the new Black Panthers.
The guy at Holder's Department of Justice, who refused to prosecute the Black Panthers, is pushing this new loan program for people who can't afford it.
Minority loans to people who can't pay them back.
Thomas Perez was also the lawyer in the Justice Department who led the charge against the Arizona immigration law.
