As always, a program exclusively tailored to rich Republicans and right-minded conservatives and people who want to become either one or both.
If you don't, you might have some problems here.
800-282882.
I gotta go back to this Obama soundbite.
As I told you, I I I could react to these in any number of ways.
And if I if I let go, I could just be livid.
Pure livid.
I mean, these are uh answers to questions at his summit today's talk is at town hall.
They're just insulting.
Insulting to anybody's intelligence.
And and the the last one I think is the one I want to focus on.
The uh audience member says to him, My uh my dad and I were talking about the Tea Party.
What will you do if these people are elected?
America has a noble tradition of being healthily skeptical about government.
That's in our DNA.
We came in because the folks uh over on the other side of the Atlantic had been uh oppressing folks without giving them representation.
The problem that I've seen in the debate that's been taking place uh and uh in some of these Tea Party events is I think they're misidentifying sort of who the culprits are here.
We had two tax cuts that weren't paid for, two wars that weren't paid for.
We've got uh population that's getting older.
We're all demanding services, but our taxes have actually substantially gone down.
And so the the challenge, I think, for the Tea Party movement is to identify specifically what would you do.
Now the challenge of Tea Party movement is to get rid of you.
The challenge of the Tea Party movement is to get rid of the Democrats who are creating this mess.
I mean, look look at the look at the premise of this.
The purpose of tax cuts is to what pay for government.
That's not the purpose of taxes.
This whole premise here is is misguided.
Tax cuts were not paid for.
You don't you don't pay for tax cuts.
The whole concept of paying for tax cuts is foreign.
It's wrong.
It's irrelevant.
By the way, revenues to the U.S. Treasury in 2003 were in a neighborhood of 2.1 trillion dollars.
In 2007, revenues to the Treasury were in the neighborhood of two and a half trillion.
And the source here is the Heritage Foundation citing numbers from the Obama administration Office of Management and Budget.
So apparently government revenues went up from 2001 to or 2003 to 2007 after the Bush tax cuts.
Revenues went up.
The same thing happened in the 1980s.
So his whole premise is nothing but a lie.
The whole notion of paying for tax cuts has always offended me as though government is first last and always, and whatever happened.
They are the single greatest repository of greed in the world.
Washington, D.C., including even all the tyrannical dictators around the world.
The single largest repository of greed is people in Washington, D.C. All money is theirs, and their little power games such that they believe you end up with whatever they deem is fair for you to have.
You don't pay for tax cuts.
Tax cuts generate wealth creation.
The purpose of tax cuts is not to stimulate governments to help the economy.
The purpose of tax cuts is to stimulate growth and prosperity in the American people, which clearly Obama's not interested in.
The welfare, the well-being, the prosperity of the American people is not at all something he's concerned about.
Otherwise, he would be in favor of tax cuts.
Tax cuts are compassion.
I mean, the Democrats love the word.
Tax cuts are intended to leave money with the individual who earns the money.
I hate to be so basic here, but apparently the president needs it.
Tax cuts are about private property rights.
Every dollar you earn is yours until you are forced to pay taxes on it.
And then you have what's discretionary income is left for you to spend as you choose.
Now, taxes are necessary, everybody knows this.
But the way the Democrats look at it, taxes are a punishment.
Taxes are a punishment of people doing too well.
Taxes are class envy.
Taxes are a way to get even with other people.
Taxes are a way to buy votes of people who don't think they're doing well.
Now the president said we had two wars that were not paid for.
Okay.
Let me put it this way.
Medicare is not paid for.
The war on poverty is not paid for.
Social Security is not paid for.
Medicaid is not paid for.
The Department of Education is not paid for.
The EPA is not paid for.
Why do you single out the Pentagon?
When the whole government is in deficit.
Nothing is being paid for, Mr. President.
Nothing.
We're bankrupt.
The country is broke.
Nothing is being paid for.
Two wars that weren't paid for.
The Environmental Protection Agency is not paid for.
Running Air Force One is not paid for.
We don't have the money.
Everything is adding up to a deficit.
But certainly Social Security isn't paid for.
Medicaid is not paid for.
Medicare is not paid for.
The Great Society, not paid for.
War on poverty, not paid for.
Well, I'm going to go.
This deficits government wide.
We've got spending increases.
All of the president's new regulations.
None of it's paid for.
We are on a deficit death watch.
That's why the Tea Party exists.
Every penny the president spends today, and from this day forward is not paid for, Mr. Obama.
Nothing is paid for that you are buying.
You're not paying for a damn thing, Mr. President.
All of us are.
Everything you get's gratis.
Your wife's vacations, your trips on Air Force One, the perks and the parties.
You're the only one not paying for anything.
The rest of us are in hawk for the rest of our lives because of people like you.
And you dare to insult us and say that two wars are not paid for, that our tax cuts have led to this problem.
You blame the people of this country.
You, Mr. President, single-handedly are destroying the wealth creation engine of this country, and you have the audacity to go to a town hall meeting and jump our chili.
This is why citizens are rising up.
This is why people are abandoning the president of the United States.
Because he is delusional.
This man is delusional about what's going on around him.
He's delusional about what he's doing.
Tax rates are not lower than after Kemp Roth was passed.
The tax rates are not lower than they were in 1986.
Tax rates are not lower than they were in 1988.
To the extent that taxes are lower than when Clinton was in office, that's thanks to the Bush tax cuts.
This president has intentionally bankrupted this country.
And now, and now he claims that defense spending and tax cuts aren't paid for.
But the rest of all of his entitlements and all the rest of his massive good do-gooder spending, why that's paid for?
How do you explain that?
All the things he's spending money on, that's paid for, but a couple of wars aren't.
So national security, which is a constitutional responsibility, was not paid for, but all the rest of this massive bureaucracy is paid for, tax cuts, which allows people to keep more of what they've earned the following year is already being spent by the government this year.
So they're not paid for.
I mean, I have this about right.
I think I do.
Nothing's paid for except his precious little programs.
But everything that impacts us is not paid for.
This guy keeps spending, he keeps running up deficits.
He keeps taking care of his union buddies, trial lawyer buddies, certain Wall Street buddies, and then there's nothing left for those of us.
Those of you who pay the bill, suddenly he's concerned about the budget and the deficit after he has single-handedly blown them up out of sight.
Yes, exactly.
And we predicted this.
This is now the pretext and the predicate for tax increases.
The world will demand it, you see.
The world will demand to see some sign of stability in this country.
Wait till you see what this deficit reduction panel comes up with in December, folks, after these elections, wait till you see it.
Wait till you see all the income tax increases in the VAT tax.
So essentially what we're going to have to do is keep ponying up for Obama's failure.
We're going to have to keep ponying up to pay for socialism, it doesn't work.
We're going to have to keep ponying up to pay for huge salaries and benefits for bureaucrats and union people.
And we're going to have to hear, all the while, that defense and tax cuts aren't being paid for.
This is our fault.
We had the temerity to accept a tax cut.
And now we've got to pay the price.
So, yeah, I'm livid about this.
This all lies.
It's irresponsible.
And it is, more than anything else, it's dangerous.
Thank you.
Because it's destroying the very engine of wealth creation that has defined the greatness of this country and is given people, not just in this country but around the world, hope.
In one year and a half, just a little over a year and a half, the level of damage and destruction that this guy has wrought while blaming us for it now is unlike anything I've ever seen before.
Half my brain tied behind my back just to make it fair.
What a fraud this whole argument is.
What a fraud all of this is.
The the these liberals did the defense tax cuts not being paid for.
Meanwhile, they increase spending on the rest of the government.
Nothing is paid for.
Not a single thing is paid for.
Fraud is the best way, I think, to describe this entire administration.
And now, of course, what's the media trying to do?
Take every bit of attention away from Obama possible and focus it on Christine O'Donnell.
Sarah Palin has some advice for Christine O'Donnell on Twitter.
Ignore the media.
Don't even worry about them.
Go back to Delaware and campaign and tell your constituents what you intend to do.
Focus your attentions in Delaware and don't worry about what the national media says.
And I could not agree more.
I could I don't wouldn't even get caught up in it.
I wouldn't even react to them.
The premise that they're trying to get started here is fallacious.
I wouldn't even mess up, I wouldn't waste my time with them.
It's exactly what they want.
I've I've ever stay in Delaware or whatever she goes, but connect with uh with voters in Delaware.
Charlotte, North Carolina, as we return to the phones.
This is Wayne.
Thank you for waiting, sir.
You're up next.
Thank you for taking the call, Rush.
Uh look, I'm a little confused, and I'm hoping you can help me out today.
Yeah.
Uh okay.
Uh back to uh former Secretary of State uh General Colin Powell in his uh his lecture yesterday uh yesterday on the uh on the mainstream media.
Um how did he know exactly?
How did he know that he's had and has been having so many illegal aliens working on his house?
Either he checked the documentation of these people and hired them anyway, which means he broke the law, or he just assumed based on their skin tone and their accent, which means he's guilty of racial and ethnic profiling.
And and he sh either way, he needs to be held accountable.
This is his macaca moment.
His opinions aren't suitable for an airport security check if he's profiling, let alone uh national TV.
Well, I must say it's an interesting question.
Nobody asked General Powell, how do you know that everybody working in your house is illegal?
They just assume that just you know, General Powell is one of these um uh persons, people in Washington, you don't assail, you don't challenge.
When he says it, it is.
I mean, if you're an inside the beltway media person.
Well, that needs to change, don't you think?
Yeah.
Well, but he isn't going to.
I mean, he's he's he's going to appear on these programs where he's treated with the proper respect and death runs.
And if he says, not only, by the way, is everybody working at his house illegal, it's happening at yours, too.
Um, David Gregory could have said, well, I don't know about that, General Powell.
I uh haven't done but he's not going to react that way.
They're just going to assume that's the case because that's the template.
That's the narrative.
Hey, they're already here anyway, and they're doing all this wonderful work, and they're wonderful people.
It's all about open borders and amnesty.
They all agree with it.
Well, I think he owes Governor Jan Brewer an apology, and he probably owes La Raza an apology for for racial profiling.
Well, it reminds me, you know, back in in uh what was it, November 3rd of 2009 on this very program of ladies and gentlemen, uh top ten Republican moderate moments that we did on this program.
They've gone back to our archives at uh at Rushlinbaugh.com.
Very quickly, let me run through the top ten GOP moderate moments.
Number ten, Newt Gingrich doing a PSA on global warming with Nancy Pelosi in 2008.
Number nine, moderate moment GOP history, Bush Quail 92.
Number eight, moderate moment GOP history, Dole Camp 96.
Number seven, most moderate moment in the Republican history, Ford Dole 76.
Did you see a pattern here?
Top ten moderate moments, Republican history number six, jumping Jim Jeffords, jumps from the Republican Party.
Top ten moderate moments, Republican history number five, Arlen Specter switches parties.
Top ten moderate moments, Republican history number four, Richard Nixon resigns in disgrace.
Top ten moderate moments, Republican history number three, Didi Scuzafava endorses the Democrat Owens in New York 23.
Top ten moderate moments, Republican history number two, the McCain campaign of 2008.
And the number one top ten moderate moment, Republican history, Colin Powell endorsing Barack Obama, the Democrat for president in 2008.
Now, I'm sure you can make up your um your own list.
Now, by the way, we should point out General Powell has clarified his remarks and has told USA Today that he doesn't hire illegal immigrants.
Well, he said they're all over his house, but he doesn't hire them.
The contractors hire him, but he knows the contractors, but he's not hiring, he's hiring the contract.
Now, this is splitting hairs because it's General Powell's payments to the contractors that permit, and I haven't clicked on the story link here to read how the uh how the uh the uh secretary uh general uh is shaping this.
I'll I'll ship an uh uh I'll click on the uh whatever the I'll read it during the break.
Uh Randy in in Port La Vaca, Texas, welcome to the EIB network.
Great to have you here.
Thank you, Rush.
Twenty years of ditto, my friend.
Thank you very much, my friend.
Something that has been having me raving at the radio and throwing things at the TV, and my wife keeps trying to calm me down.
Yeah.
Isn't everything uh the president is saying boil down to stay the course on the economy?
How many years did they hammer Bush that stay the course isn't a strategy?
And yet that's all we hear from him.
Well, that was a rock, and this is economic destruction.
And that's two different things.
Oh, well, okay, I hadn't thought about it that way.
I just thought I I'm just tired of hearing it, tired of hearing it.
And I'm just waiting for the moment when he actually slips and uses the words, we have to stay the course.
And uh, you're very shrewd to what happens, I'll have a heart attack.
You're very shrewd to uh observe this.
He's not using the words, but uh in fact he's going one better.
Instead of saying uh stay the course, he's saying, Oh no, it is getting better.
After people tell him how bad it is, well, no, no, no.
It's uh it's actually getting better.
I mean, in turn, you know, stay the course.
How how many how many years did Democrats tell us that we had the worst economy since Hoover?
All during the Bush years we had the worst economy since Hoover.
Why don't they tell us that now?
Because it clearly is worse now than when Bush was in office.
Angela Montclair, Virginia.
Welcome to the Rush Limbaugh program.
Hi.
Uh Megadinho's rush since 94 and uh 24-7 members since 2008.
Thank you very much.
I uh Colin Powell on the uh programs yesterday saying that he's a moderate why didn't he endorse um McCain?
Now it's very clear to me, and it always have been very clear to me that he supported Obama strictly on race.
Yeah, yeah, I said that at boy.
An avalanche of excrement descended on me when I pointed that out.
So you have been warned.
Well, you know what?
That's okay because I'm a black person, and I didn't support Obama, and and I catch I've lost friends, but I stand on principle.
Now, Armstrong Williams, he made it very clear that he was having a tough time um not supporting uh Obama because he wanted to see a black president.
At least he was honest about it.
Okay.
Colin Powell lied.
He flawed I knew he was lying when he came out with that.
He just he can't stand on principle.
He's a liar, he's a disgrace, and I've lost all sorts of respect for him.
Thank you very, very much.
All right, General Powell.
Uh, ladies and gentlemen, has clarified himself.
And he's it his statement is uh I don't hire illegal immigrants.
Period.
That is the extent of General Powell's statement.
I don't hire uh illegal immigrants.
Well, let's go let's see here now.
Um grab audio soundbite number 21.
This from Meet the Depressed yesterday, David Gregory, and what's happening in Arizona is something that's animating the Republicans right now, General Powell.
The American people want their borders to be protected.
There's nothing wrong with that.
There's nothing wrong with making sure that people come across our borders, particularly our southern border, in a legal, safe manner.
But at the same time, we have millions and millions of illegal immigrants in our country, undocumented individuals who are working, who are doing things we need done in this country.
They're all over my house doing things whenever I call for repairs, and I'm sure you've seen them at your house.
So not only are there illegals all over his house, they're yours too, he's certain.
But today, a clarifying moment from General Powell.
I don't hire illegal immigrants.
It is a little muddied.
Uh it isn't exactly clear.
We have statement yesterday on Meet the Press that they're all over his house.
Like roaches.
I mean, when you yeah, they're all over my house.
How many of you describe anything as being all over your house, unless it's vermin or roaches or some sort.
Yeah.
Kids' clothes or what have you, they're all over the house.
Uh and yours too.
But now, I don't hire illegal immigrants.
That from uh General Powell.
So the matter has been clarified.
Correct.
It's been cleared up.
And by the way, I don't know about you, but I feel uh let's see.
Uh General Powell uh said there's nothing wrong with uh making sure people come across our borders uh in a legal and safe.
I'm glad to know that.
Uh the visionary has I'm glad there's nothing wrong with that.
I had my doubts.
But it has now been pontificated.
From about upon Mount DC.
It's okay.
Nothing wrong with people coming across in a legal safe manner.
I was I was wondering it.
Remember uh General Powell describing how we're going to deal with the uh the enemy in Iraq.
He said we're gonna chop it at the head, we're gonna kill it.
That's pretty clear.
It was pretty clear when he said vote Obama.
That was pretty clear.
This isn't clear.
You go on meet the press and say, they're all over my house.
And then Monday you say, I don't hire illegals.
But this, my friends, this this is the future of the Republican Party.
This is where we should all be reaching.
Dreaming.
This should all emulate.
General Powell is the head of the Republican Party.
I made him so.
I mean, I I abdicated the uh the throne, so to speak.
Sean in Redmond, Oregon.
Welcome, the Rush Limbaugh program.
Hi, sir.
Hi, it's great to talk to you, Rush.
Thank you for having me on.
Yeah, I was calling because I was a little bit curious as far as the Christine O'Donnell attacks from the left.
Yeah.
Um Bill Maher has been on a rampage lately as far as talking about some rich c witchcraft comments that she made back in 99.
Yeah.
And Carl Rove is even now stepping onto the platform to uh address that uh on the Sunday show.
Yeah, I've noticed that, yeah.
And what exactly is Carl Rove's um seems like obsession with attacking Christine O'Donnell?
I don't know.
I I really I I don't know.
I I don't know.
I I uh I don't know.
And I you're not the first to ask me.
Yeah.
Did you know, by the way, uh sir, I just I'm going through the stack of stuff here, because I don't know.
Uh men look at bodies, not faces when picking a date.
Did you did you know that?
Yeah.
You did know that.
Well, me too.
But I don't know why.
Um, it seems that the at least for me, that the more she gets attacked either by Carl Rove or the left, the more appealing she is to me as a uh as a voter.
I think this is what they don't understand.
But uh clearly uh Carl, have you noticed how popular he's become among those who wanted formerly to frog march him out of the White House and uh put in shackles and uh put him into jail.
Yeah, well, it's uh it's an interesting observation.
It's something I'm noticing more and more, but what do you think of this witchcraft business?
Well, people do things in high school and and say things and well I mean the context of this is that she was what what is she doing on Bill Marsh show anyway?
The real question I've got is 1999, which is uh 11 years.
What the hell is she doing on Bill Mars show?
I guess that was back in the day when anybody they take anybody on it.
I I There's still yeah, okay, that's true.
But I so she's not she's like 19 years old, I think.
Am I right when she's on the show?
And and and they're asking her the context of this is something about Halloween, and I don't have it in front of me, I'm looking for it.
She says something she doesn't like Halloween or disagrees with somebody.
She looked into witchcraft trying to understand how we and didn't like it.
Right.
Big deal.
I mean, Mrs. Clinton has openly talked about having seances for crying out loud with with with uh with Eleanor Roosevelt.
Right.
You know, and and and uh of course Obama even got that wrong.
He ripped Nancy Reagan for having seances.
It was Hillary that had seances.
You know, back when when when everybody learned that Bill was catting around, um we we heard that Hillary had talks with Eleanor Roosevelt.
Of course, channeling Eleanor Roosevelt in the White House, seeking guidance because somebody knew what FDR was doing, Will Wilcherbound or not.
So she was seeking common ground, solidarity, or what have you.
I think what O'Donnell ought to say is she really wants to say, Yeah, yeah, I dabble in witchcraft.
I was trying to deal with how to defeat Pelosi policies, aren't you?
Uh, ladies and gentlemen, uh, El Rushbow here a question.
Regarding all of the uh illegals running around uh General Powell's house.
If he doesn't hire illegals, who is it that's running around his house?
He did say they're all over his house.
Somebody's there.
We don't know who it is.
I'm my my question is, General Powell.
Are there not a lot of unemployed black folks in uh in Washington who do home repairs?
I would think the construction business there is in trouble like it is elsewhere, but I think there would be a lot of potential hires.
African Americans do repair work.
He wouldn't have to go the illegal route, of course he didn't, he said.
He didn't hire them.
You know how many they had have they had uh people took advantage of Hillsdale College to watch their online Constitution Day?
Fifteen times the number of people who attended it live.
At least.
And guess what?
If you happen to miss it, the opportunity to watch it still exists.
Hillsdale College is going to keep the video streams up online at uh rushforhillsdale.com for a short time.
You can still see it from the comfort of your own home, your office, wherever you choose to stream video at whatever time you want.
It's on demand.
Use the Hillsdale website, Rushforhillsdale.com to gain access to all of these important debates, seminars, and conversations about the Constitution.
I mean, 30,000 people.
This is the kind of stat that Hillsdale loves.
They keep their class sizes to a small, finite number so that everybody participates on campus.
But this kind, you know, 30,000 online, um see their lectures, conversations.
They love it.
They ate it up.
Tremendous opportunity.
And if you missed it, you still can see it at rush for Hillsdale.com.
No, I was not making this up.
I was just trying to illustrate a point.
This is uh this is from the UK telegraph.
Men look at bodies, not faces when picking a date.
It's a uh who knew this.
Who knew?
Uh it's it's a situation uh many women dread.
The leering man at the bar.
Right, they dread it.
They're there.
The women are at the bar because they dread the leering guy at the bar.
If they dreaded it dawn, they wouldn't be there.
But we'll roll with the flow here.
Situation many women dread, the leering man at the bar, and it would now appear they have every right to be suspicious that men are more interested in their bodies than their brains.
Well, at least the bodies of babes that hang out in the bars.
Scientists, like the ones who work on global warming, in fact, have discovered that men, when deciding on who to date, really do make a decision based on a woman's curvy body, not her face, let alone her wit or her brains.
A study by the University of Texas at Austin has confirmed suspicions that men are only interested in a woman's body in a short-term relationship.
Snerdley, are you I'm kind of surprised by this.
This never occurred to me.
I would have never, never um thought this to be the case.
Uh scientists, scientists found that men will only study a woman's face if they're looking for a wife rather than a short-term partner.
Well, do you doubt that?
You doubt that?
You think Snerdley doubts this.
Scientists like the ones who study global warming found that men will only study a woman's face if they're looking for a wife rather than a short-term partner.
Not true.
You say it's not true.
Nobody's disagreeing with that snurly, but they're saying that they don't men will only study a woman's face if they're looking for a wife.
That the the uh a face that's on the peeling will not prevent them a date.
But they're gonna get married face has to be part of the equation.
I probably not the case in National Football League locker rooms, but what do we really know about that?
Steve in uh Middlebrook, Virginia, great to have you on the EIB network.
Hi.
Rush, how are you?
Good, sir.
Thank you.
Rush, I hope every voting woman in Delaware is listening to your show today.
And I hope every woman who votes in Delaware is taking note of the double, triple, and even quadruple standards that are being applied uh to female candidates rather than male candidates.
And that includes Republican voters, independent women, and Democratic women in the state of Delaware.
Agree with you wholeheartedly.
Uh um now now I would list the Democrat men who uh who have been involved in scandals uh and and who have not suffered uh much damage or or no damage at all, but it's only a three hour show.
So let me stick with the short list, okay?
Yeah.
You've got Scott Brown who posed Nude and Cosmo, right?
Right.
Resume enhancement for him, though.
He's not he's not unfit for the Senate.
And then you've got David Vitter.
Now, how many women could uh could cheat on their husbands by patronizing a male hooker and get elected or keep their seat?
Can you tell me how many?
Uh I don't have time to count them all.
The answer is zero.
Okay.
All right.
There are no women that could do these kinds of things and still remain fit for office in the public eye.
And I understand why men like these double standards and and different standards, but I don't for the life of me, I can't understand why women accept it and put up with it and tolerate it.
I think the the the bigger point here is, and it it's happening in the Republican Party, but you look, the the supposed home of uh tolerance, uh open-mindedness, progressivism, feminism, all that.
The Democrat Party liberalism, they are the ones that are viciously attacking this woman.
They are the ones who viciously attacked all of Bill Clinton's babes.
The uh the feminazis never once came to the defense of Paula Jones or Monica Lewinsky.
They joined in the chorus line, at trailer trash or goal diggers, or or what have you.
And we made mention of this last week.
Um the the observation here that, well, you can dump on these women all you want, and and nobody is coming to their defense whatsoever.
And it is a double standard.
There's no there's no question about it.
But I like what Sarah Palin's advice to um Christine O'Donnell earlier today was vers her v via her Twitter account, and that is don't get caught up responding to what people in the uh in the drive-by media say.
It was it's like Levin said yesterday, it was a brilliant thing not to go on these Sunday shows.
I mean, why you have nothing to gain going on those shows.
Those people are not your voters.
Enough of your view there's nothing to gain.
You have nothing to prove to the inside the beltway media people if you're Christine O'Donnell or me, or or you or anybody.
There's no reason to go play their game on their turf.
Uh her election future is in Delaware, and that's where she needs to uh focus her attention and her efforts.
And I'm telling you, the dirty little secret is that there are a lot more Democrats who know she's gonna win.
And then there are a lot more Democrats who fear she's going to win Than will ever admit it.
And not only that, if you happen to be an attractive conservative slash Republican woman, then they really are gonna go after you.
Sarah Palin.
And I'm even seeing stories today that uh Margaret Carlson is warning Sarah Palin that uh Christine O'Donnell is trying to rip her off, trying to look like her, trying to take over her turf, trying to usurp her uh success-I I kid you not.
Um it's open season on attractive conservative women.
You call them whatever you want.
If you're a liberal democrat, see you tomorrow, folks.
