Time Text
Welcome to today's edition of the Rush 24-7 podcast.
It was breathtaking again.
I mean, it's literally, literally breathtaking.
Another Obama speech on healthcare, Glenside, Pennsylvania.
No, it was not the same.
There were even more lies in this one.
I mean, I don't know how he did it, but he got even more lies into this speech than in any speech I've ever heard.
And the crowd there had to be entire union people because they were applauding virtually everything Obama said that'll destroy the country as we know it.
I mean, you would think that the insurance companies are causing the earthquakes.
That's how badly they came in for today.
Well, folks, great to have you here.
Hope your weekend was great.
What a dull and boring Oscar ceremony last night.
There weren't any controversy, no anti-Bush jokes, no anti-Republican comments, no anti-me comments.
It was dull and it was boring and it went 30 minutes long.
Did you watch it, Sterdley?
I'm sure you're surprised that I watched it.
Well, I don't know why I tuned in.
I just happened to be channel surfing and I ran to it.
Anyway, folks, telephone number if you want to be on the program today, 800-282-2882, the email address, El Rushbo at EIBNet.com.
Well, just 25% of voters now say the country is headed in the right direction.
Just 25%.
I don't ever remember it being 25% at any time in my illustrious life.
That's the lowest level of confidence since Obama took office in January of last year.
Viewers, I'm sorry, viewers of the country's short and long-term economic future are also gloomier these days than they have been at any time since January 2009.
I want to know since when have they been at 25%?
And I got this email.
Dear Rush, how will we know when the wheels come off the Obama bus that has now run over countless Democrats?
I'm not saying the wheels have fallen off.
I'm just curious what it might look like if and when that should take place.
Best wishes, a devoted listener in flyover country.
Well, I will tell you when the wheels will come off.
They appear to have come off, but it's not stopping this guy.
I mean, there's internecine fighting going on in the White House.
Every day there's a Rom Emmanuel story.
Wait till you hear this guy, Eric Massa, Democrat New York.
Wait till you hear his story and what has happened to him and why he's been thrown overboard by Ron Emmanuel and Obama and the Democrats.
And listen to these headlines from the UK Telegraph, the end of the road for Barack Obama from the Frank Rich column, New York Times, the up or down vote on Obama's presidency.
And basically he says that if Obama doesn't get health care, he is toast, and it's not the Republicans' fault.
That's Frank Richard, the New York Times.
Here is George Packer at the New Yorker, Obama's lost year, the president's failure to connect with ordinary Americans.
This guy zeroes in on the failure of the stimulus plan, the porculus plan, and he declares the program a failure.
That F-word, that F-word popularized by me when nobody else had the courage, the gonads, and the guts to say it, is now popping up everywhere across the political spectrum as it relates to Obama.
And we have the numbers over the weekend, Obama policies projected to add $9.7 trillion to our total debt by 2020.
They have underestimated in the White House CBO numbers here.
Obama is about one and a half to two trillion dollars short in his own budget deficit estimates.
And yet he's still out there pushing all these things.
And the lies today were just we got sound bites.
The lies are just unbelievable.
And more and more and more of them.
We'll deal with all of that as the program unfolds.
Try this.
From the New York Times, program will pay homeowners to sell at a loss.
Program will pay homeowners to sell at a loss.
Taxpayers will pay off homeowners.
Lenders will be compelled to accept a short sale.
I kid you, there's no stopping this guy.
Zilts Zeronada.
All kinds of stories.
Owners walk from their homes.
Values erode.
The stigma of walking away when you can make the payment is disappearing.
People are walking away.
Strategic defaults on homes are on the rise.
Shifting attitudes toward debt commitment.
It's fine and dandy if people want to walk out on their commitments.
The stigma is being eroded.
All right.
This story speaks for itself.
Yesterday morning in Hornell, New York, on a radio station, Washington Week in Review with Representative Eric Massa, Democrat New York.
Just listen to these soundbites.
Ron Emmanuel is son of the devil spawn.
He is an individual who would sell his mother to get a vote.
He would strap his children to a front end of a steam locomotive.
And if he doesn't like that, he can come after me personally.
Let me tell you a story about Rahm Emmanuel.
I was in the congressional gym and I went into the showers, which, by the way, I, for the life of me, can't figure out why they took all the shower curtains off the shower stalls in the congressional shower.
Last thing I want to look is my fellow colleagues naked, but they don't have any shower curtains down in the gym.
And I'm sitting there showering, naked as a jaybird.
And here comes Ram Emmanuel, not even with a towel wrapped around his tush, poking his finger in my chest, yelling at me because I wasn't going to vote for the president's budget.
Do you know how awkward it is to have a political argument with a naked man?
Who's jabbing his finger into your chest in a shower where there are no curtains in the House gym?
This is Representative Massa lashing out at everybody in the Obama administration, particularly Ron Emmanuel, a radio appearance yesterday.
And what he's basically accusing the Democrat leaders of doing here is orchestrating a campaign to force his resignation.
There's a reason that this has all happened, frankly, one I had not realized.
Mine is now the deciding vote on the health care bill.
And this, remember, this guy was going to serve out his term until November.
And Friday, we found he's going to resign today at 5 o'clock.
And what this is all about is what inspired that.
What speeded it up?
He says, yeah, mine is now the deciding vote on health care.
And this administration and this House leadership have said, quote unquote, they'll stop at nothing to pass it.
And now they've gotten rid of me and they think it'll pass.
We've got more.
Here's the second soundbite.
What the heck is he doing in the congressional gym?
He goes there to intimidate members of Congress.
We had words and he hates my guts.
He's hated me since day one and now he wins.
So he'll get rid of me and this bill will pass.
And I don't know what we're going to do in this country.
This guy's a Democrat.
Now, I think there is a real implosion going on in the Democrat Party, and we're going to see the results of it in November.
But that's not solace enough for me.
I don't care if they're imploding.
This has got to be stopped.
He's giving these guys 10 days.
18th of March, you guys get it done.
I'm leaving for a foreign trip.
You guys are going home.
If you go home on the Easter break and so forth, you're going to hear all kinds of hell from your constituents.
You've got to get it passed before that happens or we're locked out again.
He's demanding it.
He's demanding members.
He just said in his speech to look, elections don't matter.
Doing the right thing for the American people is what matters.
We've got to get the politics out of this.
He's openly asking and suggesting and demanding that his fellow Democrats walk the plank for a plan that doesn't exist in his mind.
And he's lying about what does exist and what is in the bill and what isn't.
Massa says, here's his own words, saying the White House and Emmanuel went after him because of a health care vote.
When I voted against the cap and trade bill, the phone rang and it was the chief of staff of the president of the United States of America, Rob Emmanuel.
And he started swearing at me in terms and words that I hadn't heard since that crossing the line ceremony on the USS New Jersey in 1983.
And I gave it right back to him in terms and words that I know are physically impossible.
I told him to do things that I know the human anatomy cannot do.
There's no doubt in my mind.
And then it got quiet.
And I said, Ron, let's have a conversation.
You pretend that you're the chief of staff at the President of the United States of America, and I'm a sitting member of Congress.
And he said, there's no reason for you to swear at me.
I said, you're the one that unlit on me first.
And I'm going to give as good as I get.
So if Ron Emmanuel wants to come after me, maybe he ought to hold himself to the same standards I'm holding myself to and resign.
NASA says that they're coming after him because of his vote on health care.
I've had union leaders tell me point blank, we are not going to contribute to your campaign unless you vote for this health care bill.
Is that or is that not a bribe?
It makes me weep when I realize our nation is being destroyed from within.
But I will not go quietly into the evening.
If you think that somehow they didn't come after me to get rid of me because my vote is a deciding vote in the health care bill, then ladies and gentlemen, you live today in a world that is so innocent as to not to understand what's going on in Washington, D.C.
This guy is a Democrat.
He's in a conservative district in New York, but he is a Democrat.
And this is just hilarious.
Can you picture this in the shower with no shower curtains in the House gym?
And here are both these guys are buck naked.
And here comes Ron Emmanuel poking finger in this guy's chest.
And they start arguing about this.
What's he doing in the House gym anyway?
He's a White House chief.
He said, what's he doing over here?
Now, Massa warns us what we all know, but I think you will need to hear it from a Democrat being forced out by Obama and Steny Hoyer and Pelosi.
You cannot effectively govern this country without the consent of the governed.
The entire nation has said, let's rewrite the health care bill.
Let's find what we can agree upon.
No, no, no, no.
We're going to ram this down the throats of the American people, and anyone who stands in the way of doing that is going to be smeared, and they're going to be kicked out of Congress.
And we're going to have people like Steny Hoyer lying in the press.
They are going to ram this bill down the throats of this country, and it is going to rip this nation politically to pieces, and it'll be a generation before we recover.
He asked, was asked in this appearance, well, why don't you rescind your resignation?
He said, well, the only way I can do that is if this becomes a national story.
So, Congressman Massa, we're doing our part here to make it a national story.
But he then said, but you have to understand, Sophie, if I don't quit, the ethics investigation continues, and they're going to ruin me that way.
And I, you know, what would you do if you were him?
What would you do, Sterling?
What would you do?
They're going to ruin him anyway.
He sounds ticked off enough that I would stay.
This guy is as fired up as anybody I've ever heard anywhere opposed to this and the process and how they're getting it done.
And this guy is going to have so much support from people.
We'll see.
He's got five hours or four hours and 45 minutes to figure it out, unless I was missing something here.
And he said today that he's going to go ahead and resign.
And I haven't seen that.
In the meantime, let's take a brief time out.
We'll come back.
Lots more to do today as we chronicle the implosion and what looks to be Obama driving the Democrat Party past the point of no return over the cliff.
Back after this.
Ron Emmanuel is son of the devil spawn.
He is an individual who would sell his mother to get a vote.
He would strap his children to a front end of a steam locomotive.
And if he doesn't like that, he can come after me personally because, let me tell you a story about Rom Emmanuel.
What is the big mystery, folks, about why they took the shower curtains off of the showers in a men's locker room at the House gym?
Can you say, Marnie Frank?
Welcome back.
It's Rush Limbaugh.
This is the EIB Network.
800-282-2882 is the number.
The banking queen, yes, same guy.
You know, they call the Republican Party the Party of No.
But I have to tell you, folks, it is the Democrats that cannot play well in the sandbox.
They cannot get along with each other.
They don't trust each other.
They have deep contempt for each other.
They are afraid of each other.
They are afraid to say anything against each other.
And now the House and Senate Democrats want all these deals that they're making in writing.
Now, if they don't trust each other, why in the hell should we?
If these Democrats in the House don't trust the Democrats in the Senate adverse weiss, why should we trust them?
From the Wall Street Journal, Tinker Taylor, Soldier Obamacare, is the White House playing a double game with House Democrats.
House Democrats are suspicious of each other.
None of them trust their Senate counterparts and vice versa.
And a Soviet mole has infiltrated the highest levels of British intelligence.
Oh, sorry.
That last part from a John McCarth thriller or lecarae.
Though it might take a novelist to do justice to the Obamacare-induced paranoia that now indulfs Congress.
Not to mention a double game the White House may well be running.
Last week, Obama sanctioned reconciliation.
But what if this gambit is really a false flag operation meant to lure House Democrats into voting for a bill that they would otherwise oppose?
That's a question many rank-and-file members are now asking themselves.
And they're right to be worried.
The cleanest option for Democrats would be for the House to pass the Senate's Christmas Eve bill word for word, thereby bypassing a Senate filibuster under the normal rules and forwarding the bill all the way up to Obama for a signing ceremony.
But Pelosi has repeatedly said the votes simply don't exist for the Senate bill as is.
By the way, if you're interested, the latest count, best I've been able to get, is she's under 200 votes right now.
Now, she's got a lot of power, and they are scared to death of her, by the way, particularly freshman Democrats.
They are scared to death.
She is threatening all kinds of things with them or to them.
But as of now, she's under 200 votes.
She needs, well, I don't know what the masks are going to be, 216?
Yeah, the number keeps changing based on resignations, imprisonments, and suicides.
Liberals don't think the middle-class insurance subsidies are large enough in the Senate bill.
Big Labor hates the Cadillac tax on high-cost health coverage because extremely generous benefits typically come out of collective bargaining.
The pro-life Democrats, led by Bart Stupak, cannot abide federal funding for abortion.
But I, I mean, folks, don't be surprised as Stupak caves at the end of the day.
I'm just warning you.
Everybody detests the enveloping corruption, such as the Nebraska Medicaid bribe for Ben Nelson, which has become so politically toxic the opponents now include Ben Nelson.
Thus, the convoluted scheme the White House is mapped out.
The House would first pass the Senate bill and then pass a reconciliation bill that addresses these objections, in effect, converting the process into a makeshift and unprecedented vehicle for amendments.
Pelosi cannot rope the 216 votes that she needs without an ironclad promise of another round of Senate action.
Or is this ironclad promise a double-cross?
After all, the White House would much prefer the Senate bill because, by its lights, the cost control programs are tougher than what the House prefers.
And from a political perspective, a bill that can be signed immediately and that the press will portray as an historic achievement is far better than the drawn-out and gory battle that would be reconciliation.
Republican senators will have many procedural knives at their disposal.
The process will force Democrats to cast even more votes and spend more months debating a deeply unpopular bill.
Now, the White House announced that it now wants the House to pass the Senate bill by March 18th, which, by the way, is just past the IDES of March when members of his own party stabbed and killed Julius Caesar, etu brute.
How fitting an analogy.
Now, see, Obama has a big tour of the Pacific that he's leaving for, but this doesn't leave any time for the CBO to score Mr. Obama's reconciliation fixes.
So, you Democrats in the House, you better count on the fact that you're being double-crossed, and you better count on the fact that you are not going to get any reconciliation whatsoever of the Senate bill once you sign it or vote for it, and it goes back to this, because it's not going to go back to the Senate.
It isn't, let me tell you what's going to happen.
As I said all last week, when you Democrats in the House sign the bill, if you do, it will be on Obama's desk within 30 minutes.
He will schedule a signing ceremony in the Rose Garden in the next 30 minutes, and then he will leave.
And you will be told, don't worry, don't worry, this is just the foundation.
We're going to go back and we're going to be adding all kinds of stuff to this bill.
Let me warn you, Democrats, of the real politics in this after Obama signs health care, they are going to drop it.
They're not going to start adding anything to it.
That's their strategy for limiting their losses in November.
Health care will not even be discussed anymore.
There will not be reconciliation.
There will not be proposals to add to it.
And you guys are going to lose control of the House and probably the Senate in November.
So, your chances to fix this bill to your liking or have anything added to it, not going to happen.
You are being double-crossed big time.
Well, the email keeps pouring in here about our new Rush media player, the Rush 24-7 media player, high-definition ditto cam and so forth.
Remember now, folks, we are in beta on this.
We test our editions live.
We don't waste six months perfecting it and then launch it.
We launch it live, and we get your feedback on it.
So, we're in beta.
And the two big bones of contention are the blinking red dot in the upper left-hand corner that signifies it's live.
Half of you love it.
Half of you hate it.
It will be up to me and only me as to whether or not it stays.
Then this question, is there any way to have the video play in a separate window as it used to so we can negotiate other places on the webs?
That is in the process.
That code is being written right now.
We hope to have that done by the middle of the week.
I expected it to be done by Friday.
And believe me, heads are close to rolling that it wasn't done on Friday.
So I'm giving these people a Wednesday, but we're working on all of these.
Folks, have you noticed, you listen to this guy, Massa, you listen to the press, the news stories of what's going on, Ram Emmanuel, and Obama in the White House, you listen to all of this implosion going on.
So much of our political news these days sounds like the kind of things that we used to hear from the Kremlin back in the days of Gorbachev, Yuri Andropov, Brezhnev, Stalin, and some of the stuff we're starting to hear coming out of Venezuela.
I mean, it's just, it's hilarious.
Now, here's Obama.
This is from this morning in Pennsylvania at Glenside, Pennsylvania, Arcadia University.
We've taken a lot of the applause out of here, and there was a lot, believe me.
I'm sure it's a total union crowd.
You know, I've often said that politics is showbiz for the ugly, which it is.
And I watched the beginning of this thing because the press, they had a countdown.
Obama to speak soon on healthcare in Philadelphia.
Obama to speak soon on immigration and healthcare.
And they had this little countdown going.
And Fox joined it late after Obama had done the introductions of everybody in the crowd.
And Obama, when he's introducing all the political luminaries, and Chocolate Fatah, Chocolate Fatah is in the house.
And the place erupted.
Now, there is nowhere in the country where the introduction or the news that Chaka Fatah is in the house would cause a ripple.
Most of it, who?
So this crowd is, I mean, pure liberal leftist Democrat union.
When a guy, nothing against Chocolate Fatah, but he's certainly not a celebrity, Chaka Fatah and the mayor get rousing standing ovations.
I'm just telling you this to tell you what kind of crowd we had there.
Because if you watch this and didn't know, you'd think that you're back in a campaign trail in Berlin or wherever Obama was.
And the cult was big and everybody loved.
That's what this sounded like today.
Except it was all lies.
Here's the first of several sound bites.
Every decision, every debate, no matter how important it is, with the same question.
Well, what does this mean for the next election?
What does it mean for your poll numbers?
Is this good for the Democrats or good for the Republicans?
Who won the news cycle?
That's just how Washington is.
They can't help it.
They're obsessed with the sport of politics.
Wait a second.
Wait, stop it.
What is he now?
Trying to portray himself as somebody who doesn't live there?
He is Washington.
There has never been a president who is more Washington than Obama.
He's got the sycophantic news media in his pocket.
They are propagandist tools.
And he's now trying to make him skew this up to the top.
He's trying to make himself sound like an outsider.
Washington, just how it works.
That's what they do.
They can't help it.
They're obsessed with the sport of politics.
They are obsessed with the sport of politics.
This guy's changing the rules of the sport of politics.
Every decision.
Every debate, no matter how important it is, with the same question.
Well, what does this mean for the next election?
What does it mean for your poll numbers?
Is this good for the Democrats or good for the Republicans?
Who won the news cycle?
That's just how Washington is.
They can't help it.
They're obsessed with the sport of politics.
But out here and all across America, folks are worried about bigger things.
Jobs.
They're worried about how to make payroll.
Jobs.
They're worried about how to make ends meet.
Jobs.
They're worried about what the future will hold for their families and for our country.
Jobs.
They're not worrying about the next election.
We just had an election.
Oh, no, they're not worried about the next election.
They can't wait for the next election.
They wish the next election, Mr. President, was tomorrow.
They can't wait for the next election.
Here's the next soundbite we have.
I got all my Republican colleagues out there saying, well, no, no, no.
We want to focus on things like costs.
You had 10 years.
What happened?
What were you doing?
Every year, the problem gets worse.
Every year, insurance companies deny more people coverage because they've got pre-existing conditions.
Every year, they draw more people's coverage when they get sick, right when they need it most.
Every year, they raise premiums higher and higher and higher.
Just last month, Anthem Blue Cross in California tried to jack up rates by nearly 40%.
40%.
Anybody's paycheck gone up 40%?
I mean, why is it that we think this is normal?
Well, there's a market reason why that happened.
I'm not going to bore you with it now, but there's a market reason why it happened.
I'll just tell you this: you're going to see massive increases like that 40% all over the country if the House passes the Senate health care bill and Obama signs it.
This notion that costs are going to go down is silly and it's absurd.
I still want to ask everybody: who is this guy?
Who is he to be doing this?
He wouldn't know what to do in a doctor's office or in a hospital or how to run one.
He wouldn't know the first thing about anything in the drug industry.
He wouldn't know a thing about the insurance industry.
All he knows is the hatred he's been taught for the insurance industry and doctors and nurses and so forth.
He's demonized all of these people, but he is no more qualified to run this health care system than he's qualified to run any business.
He is not qualified to do.
Why?
Who is he?
He's nobody.
Just because he's president doesn't make him qualified or capable of fixing anything.
And as we've seen, he hasn't fixed anything.
Everything that he's touched has gotten worse.
Everything he's focused on, jobs, unemployment goes way up.
Everything that this man claims he's going to fix is broken and in worse shape than before he was elected.
Here's another sob story.
And this speech was filled with examples like this.
She thought she had beaten her breast cancer, but later discovered it had spread to her bones.
She and her husband had insurance, but their medical bills still landed them with tens of thousands of dollars 20 debt.
And now she spends her time worrying about that debt when all she wants to do is spend time with her children.
What should I tell these Americans?
That Washington's not sure how it will play in November?
That we should walk away from this fight or do something, do something like some on the other side of the aisle have suggested.
Well, we'll do it incrementally.
We'll take baby steps.
We'll do well.
So they want me to pretend to do something that doesn't really help these folks.
Only people I've heard talking about doing things incrementally are the Democrats.
Republicans don't have any fingerprints on this anywhere, Mr. President.
No way, no how.
There aren't any Republican fingerprints here.
He keeps trying to blame the Republicans for this.
It's the Democrats who want each other's promises in writing.
It's the Democrats that don't trust each other.
The Republicans are not here.
They're not involved.
None of what they've suggested is in this bill.
Zilch Zero Nada.
I will tell you Democrats another thing here.
You know, it's very odd that I would be giving you advice that I mean.
Many of you Democrats, I understand, will be very suspicious if I attempt to give you some honest, well-meaning advice, but that's all I'm going to do.
I'm going to take a break first.
But you Democrats, I just want to tell you in the House, blue dogs, I don't care.
Blue dogs, you guys are dead anyway.
You vote for this.
But this is a double-cross.
There's no question you being double-crossed.
And I'm going to address you.
It won't be very long.
It won't take very long.
But I know how much you Democrats in the House really want this.
I know how much you don't like the Senate bill.
I also know how you're being lied to that the Senate bill is going to be modified down the road.
It ain't going to happen at reconciliation.
Folks, it can't happen at reconciliation.
There's not enough time for the CBO to score things.
And the CBO has to be involved if there's reconciliation.
So there will not be reconciliation.
You're being lied to about that.
I can tell you right now, there will not be reconciliation.
Obama's going to sign it.
And once he signs it, he's going to drop it.
There will be no mention of health care after that signing ceremony.
They'll move on to the things like immigration, reviving cap and trade, card check, whatever it is.
But there will be not one.
They're not going to take this bill and start immediately adding things to it because they want all discussion of health care to stop.
So you Democrats in the House, you are being sandbagged and double-crossed.
They are going to sign this bill.
And because of your electoral fortunes in November, there will not be one fix made to this bill.
Not one thing will be added to it after Obama signs it, and there will not be reconciliation.
And you guys are going to lose the House in the Senate.
Well, certainly the House.
You're going to lose it in November.
And once you lose the House in November, there aren't going to be anything added, isn't going to be anything added to this bill.
So let me just tell you now.
Forget the break.
Let me just tell you now.
And for those of you in the Drive-My Media monitoring this show, please don't take me out of context here.
And please don't misquote me because I mean this.
Please get this right.
Please tell members of the House of the Democrat caucus they are being double-crossed by their speaker, by Rahm Emanuel and the president when they're told that there will be reconciliation.
There is not time for budget reconciliation before March 18th because the CBO can't get in there and score it.
The process is going to take too long.
It will never, ever happen.
If you sign the Senate bill, Obama signs it within hours, and that's the end of any health care discussion for the rest of this year.
It's too big a negative, too big a drag on election chances in November.
So nothing's going to be added to it.
None of what you want, none of what they're promising you will be added will be added.
It won't even be discussed.
You're dead.
You're gone.
You have been used just like Obama is willing to use anybody in your party.
And then you're going to lose the House in November, all because of this.
And the Republicans are not going to start adding things you want in subsequent health care legislation.
This is it.
You don't like it.
This isn't leftist enough for you.
But this is, if you pass the Senate bill, that's what you're going to have.
And that's the best you are ever going to get.
Don't doubt me.
Let me ask you a quick question here, folks.
How much have tax has gone up since the Democrats control Congress?
That's in 2007 when they took off.
How much of tax has gone up?
How much has the deficit gone up since Obama was elected?
How much has home ownership gone down since Obama has been president?
And now he's going to use that same magic touch on health care.
I mean, it's just absurd to put this man in charge of any more of the vital organs of this country.
You know, folks, we could have.
We could have the kind of health care they have most of the rest of the world.
That's what Obama craves for us.
We could cut down on the quality of our care.
We could cut down on new drugs.
We could cut down on procedures and tests.
We could cut down on quality overall.
We could make sure that when you call for an ambulance, might show up.
We could do all this and we could do more.
And in that way, slash your health care costs.
Is that what you want?
Do you want the kind of health care Obama's promising?
He always touts health care around the world.
Well, look at it around the world.
Is that what you want?
That's what he's going to give you.
Everything he's touched has gotten worse.
He runs the federal government, ladies and gentlemen.
Obama runs it.
And how's that going for everybody?
Is it efficient?
Is it effective?
Is it consumer-friendly?
Is it cheaper than it was?
Is it leaner than it was?
Are people happy about the federal government?
Has anything changed in the bureaucracy?
Somebody show me the improvements.
Somebody show me where it's better.
Somebody show me where this man's competence is on display.
Now let's deal with reality.
Obama can scream.
He can yell.
He does a lot of that now.
He can scream about policy increases, but he never talks about cutting our expenses or taxes, does he?
Yeah, he has some control over that.
He can scream about unfairness all he wants, but how fair is it to drive private sector jobs into the dirt and destroy small businesses or destroy homeownership?
How fair is that?
That's what he is doing.
And now, program will pay homeowners to sell at a loss.
There's no stigma to walking out on your mortgage, even if you can make the payment.
All of this inspired by Obama because the banks are evil, the insurance companies are evil, the automobile companies are evil.
Everything but the government is evil.
Everything but the government is the devil.
The devil is clean and pure as the wind-driven snow.
He should be tested against the same rhetorical standard he applies to everybody else.
Cutting costs, increasing benefits, increasing efficiencies.
By these tests, he's a complete failure.
And he set the stage again for this big final push in his weekly YouTube address, bashing the insurance companies.
Republicans in Congress insist that the only acceptable course on health care is to start over.
But you know what?
The insurance companies aren't starting over.
I just met with some of them on Thursday, and they couldn't give me a straight answer as to why they keep arbitrarily and massively raising premiums by as much as 60% in states like Illinois.
If we don't act, they will continue to do this.
They'll continue to drop people's coverage when they need it.
They'll continue to refuse coverage based on pre-existing conditions.
These practices will continue.
And that's why we have to act now.
That's why the United States Congress owes the American people an up or down vote on health insurance reform.
What do the American people know that this guy doesn't?
There's not one poll that shows anywhere near a majority of people support him.
In fact, it's just the opposite.
A majority of Americans in whatever poll you look at don't want any part of this.
And he's out there representing us as, oh, we're getting screwed.
We're all getting screwed.
You big, bad insurance cut.
We're getting screwed by incompetent leadership in Washington.
Brief timeouts.
We'll be back and continue.
We'll get to your phone calls pretty quick, too, so don't go away.
Hey, let me ask you people on Medicare a question.
You people on Medicaid a question.
Let me ask you a question.
Is anybody denied procedures or tests or new medical devices or medicines under Medicare or Medicaid or the VA?
Or do you get everything you want?
Medicare give you everything you want when you want it?
Do they deny you anything?
Do they make everything and anything available to people who are on these programs?
No, they do not.
They deny people left and right.
People are constantly complaining about Medicare and Medicaid and the VA.
And they want to make those complaints nationwide now.
